Chapter 11- A realized wish and Recollection
As soon as the party arrived, Heartless emerged to greet them. "We'd better get inside. There's too many out here!" Aladdin exclaimed. With that, they ran into the city centre and arrived at the tattered house where they freed the carpet, which they discovered was Aladdin's home. Everyone was suddenly feeling exhausted; after all, they had next to no chance to rest and it seemed opportune to get their breath back. After resting for a few minutes, they then started a discussion. "So Jafar's after this Keyhole? What is that, exactly?" Aladdin asked, as the others explained what happened since they arrived. "That's right. Well, a Keyhole is... uh, well..." Sairu tried to explain without trying to give too much away; they couldn't risk telling him about other worlds, trying to protect the world order. Aladdin thankfully decided to leave it at that, and concluded that Jasmine and Jafar were at the palace.
They arrived at the entrance to the palace, where Jafar had Jasmine restrained in his grip. "Setting your sights a little high, aren't you boy?" Jafar inquired scathingly. "Back to your hole, street rat. I will not allow you to trouble the princess any more". "Jasmine!" Aladdin shouted. "I'm so sorry, Aladdin" Jasmine responded softly. With the lamp behind his back, Aladdin made s=his second wish: for Genie to save Jasmine. Their energetic blue friend appeared with Jasmine safely in his hands. "One wish left. You're making this really easy, you know." He said. "So sorry, boy. I'm afraid your second wish has been denied" Jafar interrupted confidently. Then, a rather overweight parrot flew to Jafar with the lamp in his talons.
As soon as Jafar had the lamp in his clutches, Genie sadly disappeared and Jasmine fell into a pot. "And now, I bid you all farewell. Attack!" Jafar exclaimed as he disappeared from sight. The pot Jasmine fell into had sprouted two legs and merged with other pots to form a centipede-like Heartless. Sairu and the gang found this particular Heartless infuriating; whenever they destroyed a pot that made up its body, it would regenerate when another merged to take its place. It took time and effort, but they eventually defeated the Heartless, only to find Jasmine was nowhere in sight. After hearing Jafar's evil laugh echo throughout the city, the quintet tore off for the desert.
As soon as they arrived to where they met Aladdin, a violent tremor was felt. Then, from the ground, emerged a giant tiger's head with glowing purple eyes. Sairu sighs exasperatedly, wanting to just travel on without any complications. The tiger head was actually not much of a threat, when Sora and Aladdin jumped on its nose and destroyed the darkness that manifested in its eyes. With the darkness gone, the tiger head settled and froze in place, with its mouth open to allow them passage.
It was a long and arduous trek through the labyrinth that was the Cave of Wonders, but eventually, they arrived in a chamber where Jafar was in discussion with a woman in black and Jasmine laid unconscious at their feet. As soon as Sairu saw the woman who was conversing with Jafar, his gaze became murderous. "Wait a sec. Are you Maleficent?" Sora asked, but she did not respond, instead she disappeared. "Jafar! Let Jasmine go!" Aladdin shouted demandingly. "Not a chance. You see, she is a princess. One of seven who somehow hold the key to opening the door" Jafar explained matter-of-factly. "Open?" "The door?" Goofy and Donald asked, respectively. "But you fools won't live to see what lies beyond it. Genie, my second wish: Crush them!"
Aladdin looked shocked "Genie, no!" he cried. "Sorry, Al. The one with the lamp calls the shots. I don't have a choice" the normally energetic Genie was lacking any of his energy, whilst Jafar used his staff to create a barrier to block the entrance and the wall the Keyhole was situated on. With casting dangerous and powerful spells, coupled with the unwilling aid of Genie, Jafar was incredibly powerful. Sairu could never get a moment to rest, having to constantly run from either Jafar's magic or Genie. All the while, no one noticed a figure approach the unconscious Jasmine and disappear into a portal of darkness.
Sairu then had an idea that may help them, but he needed Genie for this. "Hey, Genie! Over here!" he yelled, placing himself in Jafar's sight intentionally. "Please, please, please. Let me miss!" Genie wailed, while he covered his eyes and threw a powerful punch at Sairu, who used the force of the punch to rocket at Jafar and strike him with a powerful sword strike. The force was enough to defeat Jafar, who suddenly turned black, writhing in pain, receiving an upgraded Blizzard spell: Blizzara. With that, Sairu used a Hi-Potion on himself and the party approached the ledge to seal the Keyhole, until...
"Genie! My final wish! I want you to make me an all-powerful genie!" Jafar yelled maniacally. Genie covered his eyes and shot a bolt of energy at Jafar, granting his wish. Jafar glowed with such energy that the entire chamber ground caved in, and the force knocked Sairu off the ledge, falling to the pit of lava far below. Sairu then saw Aladdin fall with him, and they both landed safely. "What is this?" Sairu asked quizzically, but then a tremor answered his question and Jafar emerged from the magma, emanating a powerful aura with his newly-acquired genie powers.
"How are we going to beat him?" Sairu yelled with fear evident in his voice. "The lamp!" Aladdin responded and saw Jafar's parrot carrying a black lamp in his talons. "That's it! C'mon, Aladdin, let's go!" But as he said it, Sairu looked behind him. Jafar descended into the magma below and returned clutching a giant sphere of molten rock, throwing it in their general direction. "Aladdin!" Sairu yelled, and he ran as fast as he could, and cast as powerful a barrier he could (surprisingly, in the shape of a moon) to cancel the flying molten rock. But that sapped Sairu of much of his strength, and he fell to his knees. "Sairu! Are you-" "Don't worry about me! Get that lamp!" Aladdin nodded and he swatted the parrot who finally dropped the lamp and Aladdin caught it.
"You want to be a genie, Jafar? Then you got it! Back to your lamp!" Aladdin yelled. The lamp then proceeded to suck Jafar in, until he was completely gone. The carpet, to their surprise and relief, flew down and swept them up, reuniting them with the Keyblade bearer and their other friends. "Are you alright?" Sora asked worriedly, seeing Aladdin helping Sairu stand up. "He saved me from that giant molten rock, to give me a chance to get the lamp. He is hurt badly but we stopped Jafar all the same. Sairu... thanks" Aladdin said gratefully. "No problem" Sairu managed a smile as he acknowledged his friend's gratitude. "Sora. Do your thing" Sairu added, and with that, Sora turned and locked the Keyhole with the Keyblade.
Suddenly, the entire cavern shook violently and the ceiling started to break. "We've gotta get out of here!" Goofy yelled. "Jasmine!" Aladdin desperately yelled while the others restrained him, as the carpet took off at breakneck pace. It was a treacherous flight through the crumbling cave, but they soon reached the entrance and tore off for safety in Agrabah.
They landed at Aladdin's home, with all of them exhausted, especially Sairu and the carpet, while Aladdin was saddened over the loss of Jasmine. "She wasn't there when we stopped Jafar the first time. Someone must have taken her, so she must still be alive" Sora explained, hoping to cheer Aladdin up. "Uh. Earth to Al! Hello? You still have one wish left. Look, just say the word. Ask me to find Jasmine for you" Genie attempted to encourage Aladdin, and Aladdin made his final wish. "I... I wish... for your freedom, Genie!" He said to everyone's surprise, especially Genie. Genie was engulfed in a pink light, and his lower torso became a pair of legs, while his golden bracelets disappeared.
"A deal's a deal, Genie. Now you can go anywhere you want. You're your own master! But if you can, it'd be really great if you could go along with them and help them find Jasmine" Aladdin explained. Genie then folded his arms and turned his back to Aladdin, attempting to be serious. "Hmm... Sorry, Al. I'm done taking orders from others" but then he added that "But... a favour, now that's entirely different. I guess I could give that a try. After all, we're pals, right, Al?" He said while resting an arm on Aladdin's shoulder. Aladdin simply flipped his hair and chuckled.
Sora then learned to call upon Genie for help and gained a new Keyblade. With that, Sora, Sairu, Donald and Goofy boarded the Gummi Ship and took off for their next adventure, now having to look for Jasmine as well as Alice and their other friends. Once aboard, Sairu immediately collapsed into his seat. "Ahh, we're all exhausted. Let's put the ship on autopilot and get some rest" Donald said, before sitting back down and fell asleep. Goofy was next to fall asleep, leaving only Sora and Sairu awake, too tired to actually fall asleep.
"Hey, Sairu. I've been meaning to ask, but why have you been spacing out a lot while we've been travelling?" Sora asked. Sairu gave him a sad look, and responded "Well, all the worlds we've been visiting have things about them that are familiar to me. Like the jungle with the gorillas, my old home had such natural beauty and it made me feel nostalgic. But, for as long as I can remember, I've been reminiscing on the memories of Kairi and my... other friend. We may have only been friends for a short time, but those memories are some of the best I have." He finished with a solemn look on his face. Sora had listened intently, but was still curious about something else that happened.
"I guess that makes sense. Then, what about what happened with the necklace? Do you know how that saved your life and ours, for that matter?" Sora asked curiously. Sairu gave a confused look, but then answered "I honestly don't know. What I do know was that someone gave it to me when I was only a baby. I was never told who it was, but something compelled me to wear it, and I haven't stopped wearing it since I was five or six" He continued. "You see, Leon is not my real brother, though he has been looking after me all my life, so he is like my older brother. I don't know who my parents are, or if they are still alive, or even if they wanted me." Sairu explained with a pained look on his face, but Sora clasped his shoulder and gave him a reassuring look. "Don't worry. I'm sure your parents loved you all the same. You still know you had parents for a time, so that's reason enough to remember them fondly" he said with a small smile. Sairu then returned the smile and nodded.
Then, they saw something coming towards them in the distance. "Guys, wake up!" Sairu shook them, and when Donald and Goofy came round, they saw the thing getting closer, until... It was revealed to be a gigantic whale. "What the-?" Sairu exclaimed in awe. Then Jiminy appeared and explained "It's Monstro! He's a whale of a whale and vicious besides". Then they noticed, he was coming right at them and opening his mouth wide. "He's gonna swallow us! Let's get out of-" But it was too late. Monstro swallowed the ship and the quartet fell into inky blackness.
