I don't own Sailor Moon
Chapter 11
The hour was up, and tonight was the night everyone would be out. Serena was completely compelled to go out and have fun. It had been a long, long day. She decided to do it big. She slipped into a red short strapless dress with black pumps. The model had her hair in a big bun, and her make up was simple and natural looking. She had invited Ami to join and escort Taiki and of course Mina tagged along too.
Ami wore a blue sequin halter dress. It hid nothing really. She was beyond embarrassed but decided to wear it considering Serena had set her up on a date with a rock star. When would she ever get that opportunity again? She wore black strappy heels, her hair was gelled back, and her make up was classic.
Mina wore a black crop top bra top, and a deep green pencil skirt. Her hair was braided to the side, and she wore ankle length boot heels. Her outfit was somewhat classy. Her make up was a simple smokey eye and clear lip gloss.
The blondes and bluenette were ecstatic. They were ready for a really fun night. Ami was nervous for this sort of blind date. Mina was happy Yaten asked her out. Serena saw this as a business venture. She thought Seiya was cool, but she respected the bounds of her marriage. She did think the singer was really hot, and sweet. But her heart was always Darien's, she had spent a life time with him. It wouldn't easily be ruined by a new comer. Even though that new comer made her skin flush and her blood boil.
They heard the door open, Serena grinned. "Everyone's here."
Mina squealed like a high school girl, "YATEN BABY!" She was out in a flash causing Serena and Ami to just look at each other oddly.
"Let's go." Ami rolled her eyes and giggled. She had started to love Japan again and being with her people. The blue eyed girl wanted to rethink her career options.
Downstairs the two saw Yaten and Mina kissing, Seiya, Taiki, Luna, and Artemis. Serena's jaw dropped. Seiya wore a white button down, with black jeans. His hair was down in its usual low ponytail, the white shirt did little to show that body of his. She blushed.
Luna wore a black simple spaghetti dress. She had kept it simple. Her hair was in a tight bun. She stood next to Artemis, who was wearing his black and grey suit. They always wanted to keep it professional.
"Well lets get this show moving on," Luna looked at her watch. "Lita will meet us there. Everyone get out in couples, do an interview or two, take some pictures. Serena and Seiya, we want heavy PDA." Her blue eyes were stern. "Just hold hands, be touchy, you don't have to like kiss or anything like that. We want just enough attention to be talked about."
Seiya got closer to Serena smiling. "I have no problem with it." He practically purred in her ear.
The couples all got into the limo, and Luna left Diana and Hotaru with her trustee babysitter. Luna didn't drink on her work hours, so she was easily available in case of emergency with Diana. Luna treasured her daughter more than anything, she was a hard worker, but the majority of her effort was towards her mothering skills. Usually she would have left Diana in the hands of Serena, but Serena obviously had this go to this event. Out of all of Luna's clients, Serena was her favorite.
They were more sisters than associates. Serena wasn't interested in modeling until Mina set them up. Luna picked Serena out of a line, she knew the girl had talent and the means to become a model. The girl was completely flawless of course. Luna felt an instant connection to the girl. She had met Serena shortly after her marriage to Darien. They were all so young then. She reminicised. Serena was such a happy fool.
Marriage was not about what looked the best or what people thought. It wasn't even about love anymore. It was about the choice to make things work, and both parties putting forth an effort. Artemis and Luna had gone through a rough phase themselves. It wasn't the same as Darien and Serena. Artemis and Luna's fights always revolved around Diana and money. They wanted the best for their only daughter. They had to learn how to compromise and keep it together.
Luna watched her ward exchange interactions with Seiya. He was a genuinely good guy. Luna liked how they both brought out the best of each other. She made him shine, and he reveled in hers. They didn't battle for dominance. They were equally matched. Luna liked Darien. But since she met Serena, Luna was more in the picture than Darien was. Darien was successful, yes, and they all understood that he loved his job. Serena was understanding at first, she made up excuses for Darien missing everything.
Luna remembered Serena's first shoot, Darien didn't show. It tore Serena apart, she wanted him to be there at her functions. Serena didn't cry though, she was grown about it. She was so upset about it, but swallowed it under the fact that she knew he would be busy as a doctor. She knew what he was about. Luna saw the two talk in the limo, she smiled a bit watching one of her closet friends. Serena was smiling while talking to Seiya. For the first time in awhile her smile hit her eyes.
Before they knew it they arrived at the club. The four couples got out elegantly. There was paparazzi everywhere. Luna grinned, Serena was a star amongst all the people here. She was shining brightly next to Seiya. The two woman made eye contact for a moment, causing Serena to shoot a Hollywood smile at her manager. Luna could tell she was actually having fun.
"So what is in store for the first music video?" A reporter asked Seiya.
"Serena Shields," he replied placing his hand on the small of the blonde's back. "She is the star of my show."
Serena blushed, "Seiya!" She playfully swatted his arms. "It's a really good album, it really connects to the listeners. The starlights did an amazing job. It'll make you laugh, cry, and want to dance all at the same time." The blue eyed girl said while maintaining eye contact with Seiya. She meant it, the songs were touching, and her heart fluttered at the way he was looking at her. His hand felt so hot on the small of her back.
"I hear you all have good chemistry on set, is that true for real life?" The reporter continued.
Serena wasn't paying attention to him this time, her eyes were focused on Seiya's lips. She licked her lips slightly recalling that fantastic shoot they had earlier. The urge suddenly became apparent in her body again. She shook her head and realized Seiya was answering questions to the reporters. She must've looked like a love sick puppy. She had to get back in the game.
"Nice talking to you," Seiya said at last to the reported, guiding Serena closer to the door. Serena kept her game face on, not saying a word. There was so many pictures flashing, she didn't know who they were of. She frowned, it should have been Darien sharing this moment with her. She glanced at Seiya, who was as cool as ever, and suddenly felt thankful for her date. He wasn't leaving her all out on her own.
The blonde became excited when she saw two two other blondes. "ANDREW! AMARA!" She squealed. She childishly ran over to her siblings, hugging them both. "Congratulations, it looks like such a success!" She gushed to her older brother.
The three blondes had people taking pictures of them as a trio. The family resemblance was uncanny. The crowds whispered about how talented the family was as a whole. Amara was dressed in simple black skinny jeans and a grey shirt. Michelle and Lita joined the crew and grinned. Lita wore a pink mini dress with her hair down for a change and Michelle wore black slacks and a grey blouse matching her wife.
"Oh guys, this is Seiya," Serena introduced to her family. "Seiya, this is my older brother Andrew, he owns the club." Serena explained. "This is Amara—"
"Great racer, it is a pleasure to meet you," Seiya shook the dirty blonde's hand eagerly. "I'm a fan of you and your wife's work. Michelle you play the cello beautifully, and Amara you kicked ass at your last race." Seiya beamed politely.
"I like this one, Sere." Michelle giggled. "You're not so bad yourself!" Her sea greed hair bounced while she laughed. Michelle took Amara's hand.
Amara nodded too, "You could come to the tracks if you'd like, any friend of Serena's is a friend of mine."
"I just want to thank you for coming, this night was really a hit with you guys." Andrew included. He instantly liked the singer. Serena seemed very happy tonight and for that Andrew, Amara, and Michelle were super thankful. She always seemed sad at these events because she was by herself. It was good to see her looking brighter for once.
"We should go inside," Lita kept her emerald eyes on the clock. "I think your guests are ready to get this party going." She reminded Andrew. Celebrities and the well endowed were already inside dancing and ordering drinks. The entire crew here had down their jobs by making the appearance.
Mina and Yaten slid in a giant booth, they were followed by Ami and Taiki, then Michelle and Amara, then Andrew and Lita, then Serena and Seiya, then Luna and Artemis.
"Chad and Rei are running late as always," Lita mused.
Mina grabbed her martini, "We know why," the blonde winked. Her dazzling blue eyes held a secret in them as always, she squeezed Yaten's hand. The silver haired man was taken with the blonde. He looked at her briefly.
"Isn't Chad supposed to preform tonight?" Amara questioned, she had a worried tone in her voice. Nothing could mess up tonight for Andrew. He'd put a lot of money into the place. She felt as the eldest sibling she had to worry for her younger brother.
Taiki spoke up, "We can take the slot if anything and just play an oldie, don't worry." He gave the blonde a gentle smile. He was probably the nicest one of his group. His brothers were different. Taiki was always the selfless one.
"That's really nice of you," Ami commented. She decided she liked her date, he was a gentleman throughout the night so far. He was quiet for the most part, but completely rational and sweet.
"I'll try to get Rei on the the phone," Serena said lamely. She chewed her lip. "It's unlike her to not be prepared during an event, I'm worried." The blonde got up and began to walk outside, she was shocked by the door opening for her. She turned around to see Seiya looking at her.
"Couldn't let you be out here by yourself," He shrugged. He put his hands on her pocket as he watched her call her best friend's number. She paced back and forth while it was ringing. He took this time to admire those long legs of hers. She frowned and continued pacing faster, calling Rei's phone again. Once again, no answer.
"I have a really bad feeling about—" Serena began to say when her phone lit up. Rei's name appeared on the caller ID. "Hello? …. WHAT… Yes. I will be there. Thank you." Her voice faltered as she hung up the phone.
"What happened?"
"Rei and Chad have been in an accident; I need to get to the hospital now." Serena demanded. Her face was red, and she began chewing on her nails.
