And so, Obsidian and Ruby went on their double-date with Pearl and Peridot. They had a great time going to all the best places Beach City had to offer. "I'm so glad you're back," said Ruby. "I am too. During that century the sludge had me trapped, all I could think about was you."
"Aww, you're sweet."
"Say, who was that kid I saw back at the house?"
"That's Steven, Rose Quartz's son."
"Whoa, Rose had a son?!"
"Yep, with a guy named Greg Universe."
"Cool! I've gotta congratulate them!"
At that, Pearl, Ruby, and Peridot looked sad. "Did I miss something?" asked Obsidian. "Rose is… no longer with us," replied Pearl. "Oh, I'm sorry to bring that up."
"She gave up her physical form to bring Steven into the world."
"I never got to see her again…"
"It'll be okay, Obsidian. Rose may be gone, but you still have me."
"Well, I'm going to make sure that the Sludge doesn't take any more victims. Is Planet Zorak still there?"
"Let me check." Pearl concentrated on Planet Zorak, and an image of it appeared. The Sludge has now taken over three-fourths of the planet. "I'm going to save it."
"Obsidian, we don't even know how to get rid of it!"
"I'll find a way if it's the last thing I do."
"At least let me go with you! I don't want to lose you again."
"Very well."
"You guys go, Pearl and I are going to finish our date."
"We'll catch up later."
"All right. C'mon, Ruby, let's go save Planet Zorak!"
