After talking with Lucas for thirty minutes while they waited on Jake, Peyton, and Haley to get back Nathan sighed and stood up. "I'm going to step outside and call dad before Brooke wakes up. If she wakes up before I am back inside, please let her know where I'm at and get her to eat some breakfast. If she isn't up by eleven I will wake her up so that she has time to wake up before we have to leave for the appointment."

Lucas snickered but nodded. "I will keep an ear and an eye out for Brooke, Nathan. You had better go call Dan before he learns of the news some other way."

Nathan snorted but walked outside to make the call because he knew that Dan did have ways to find out information. When he heard, his dad pick up the phone he smiled slightly. "Hey, dad, do you got a few minutes to talk?"

Dan chuckled. "I always have time for you, son. Is everything alright, Nathan? You never call me this early."

Nathan sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I have some things to tell you and I'm not sure how to tell you them other than to come right out and say them. Last night I found Brooke parked on the side of a road crying her eyes out. She was upset and couldn't quit crying even when I pulled open her car door and pulled her out of the car into my arms. She did manage to tell me that she caught Rachel and Chase making out and getting ready to fuck. I got her into the passenger seat of her car and brought her home with me where she is now staying until she no longer wants to stay with me and Haley."

Dan swore. "Is Brooke alright, son? Do you need for me to do anything?"

Nathan took in a deep breath and let it out. "There is more, dad. Brooke had just found out that she is pregnant right before she caught Chase and Rachel together. As of this morning Brooke and I decided that we were going to give a relationship with one another a try because we have both liked each other for a long time but never acted on the feelings we had for one another for one reason or another."

Dan snorted. "It is about time that you two got together, Nathan. Hell, son, even I could tell that you two are in love with one another. Your mom, Karen, Keith, and I will do whatever we can to help Brooke and you out, son. So, I ask once again, do you need for me to do something?"

Nathan smiled because he knew that his dad was being truthful. "I'm going to need help in keeping Rachel and Chase away from Brooke. I'm going to need help in getting papers drawn up relinquishing Chase's rights to the baby that Brooke is carrying. Lastly I'm going to need help with the doctor bills because I don't think that Brooke has insurance since her parents cut her off and she needs to see an OB/GYN doctor."

Dan nodded even though he knew his youngest son couldn't see him. "Get me the details of the doctor that Brooke will be seeing and I will take care of the first bill. By the time that Brooke needs to go and see the doctor again she will have insurance so she won't have to worry about paying the bill. I will make sure there is an account set up for Brooke at a couple different clothing stores so that she can get clothes to wear. I won't have the mother of my first grandbaby not having nice clothes. Now, the house that you are currently living in is big enough for everyone and by everyone I am including Peyton, Lucas, Haley, Jake, Jake's kid, you, Brooke, and the baby that Brooke is currently carrying and there are still rooms left. I'll talk with Karen and Deb later today and have them get together with Brooke to make a list of things that she will need for not only herself but for the baby as well. I want her car taken to Keith's garage to be looked over thoroughly to make sure that nothing is wrong with it, Nathan, and I would prefer that happen today. In the meantime, I will select one of the family friendly vehicles I have on my car lot and get it delivered to your house for Brooke."

Nathan couldn't help but chuckle because he knew that he was correct in what he had thought earlier. His dad didn't care that the baby that Brooke was pregnant with wasn't his by blood. All that mattered to him was that Brooke was safe from all possible harm. He shook his head as he realized that both Brooke and the baby she was carrying were about to be two of the most spoiled people in Tree Hill. He didn't have anything against that because he thought that they deserved to be spoiled. He took in a breath in let it out to calm his nerves down. "Thank you, Dad. You really don't know how much all that means to me. I was worrying about Brooke and how I was going to get everything handled on my own even with Peyton, Lucas, Haley, and Jake helping as much as they could. I just want to make sure that both Brooke and the baby are alright which is why I made an appointment for her later today with the OB/GYN that Jake suggested. I don't want to rush Brooke and I won't but I know that she is my forever. As both Haley and Peyton pointed out to me I have loved Brooke for a long time even if I didn't realize it or admit it to myself or anyone else."

Dan sighed. "I love Haley and Peyton, son, but I think that you are right that Brooke is your forever. I also truly believe that Peyton is Lucas' forever and that Jake is Haley's forever. It just took you all a while to get there. I will get my lawyer on getting the papers drawn up that you want drawn up along with some adoption papers in case you want to adopt the baby once he or she is here so that he or she has Scott for his or her last name, son. Now, tell Lucas and Peyton that I expect a grandchild from them within a year after they graduate and the same thing goes for Haley and Jake. Really a man can never have too many grandchildren to spoil, Nathan."

Nathan groaned. "I am not telling Lucas, Peyton, Haley, or Jake that, Dad! If you want them to know then you can tell them yourself when you come over for dinner tonight. Go ahead and invite mom, Karen, and uncle Keith as well since I know that you four will invade our house tonight anyways."

Dan laughed. "You are right that we will, son. Let me know if you need movers for Brooke's old house and I'll set it up for her. Talk to you later today, Nathan."

Nathan rolled his eyes. "See and talk to you later, dad, and once again thank you for all this. I wouldn't have asked but I don't want Chase's money since I plan on taking full responsibility for both Brooke and our baby because that baby is mine and hers even if he or she isn't mine by blood."

Dan nodded to himself because Nathan just told him exactly what he needed to hear. "Good for you, Nathan. Alright I have phone calls to make and things to set in motion. Expect your mother, Karen, Keith, and I at your place around four this afternoon, son."

"I'll see you then, dad. Bye." Nathan ended the call and let out a sigh of relief. He took in a deep breath and let it out as he headed back inside his house. Everything was coming together just as he thought it would and that took a load off his shoulders and off Brooke's shoulders. He knew that she had been worried about everything that he had just talked to his father about. Now, he could only hope that once he told her what he did that she would relax some and not worry so much. He knew without a doubt that if her worrying over every little thing caused even the slight harm to the baby she was carrying that she would never forgive herself.

He looked at Lucas who was looking at him with a raised eyebrow and smirked. "Dad is on the case and getting things taken care of. He is going to pay for today's doctor visit and get Brooke some medical insurance. While I take Brooke to the doctors could you take her car over to Keith's garage and get it checked thoroughly please? Dad insisted that he be checked over completely to make sure that it is safe. On top of that he is going to be sending over a family friendly car for Brooke to have."

Lucas snorted. "Jake and I will take Brooke's car over to Keith's to get it looked at. I do believe that our father just may beat you in terms over worrying about Brooke's safety. I never expected him to take it that far really."

Nathan huffed. "He is looking forward to his first grandchild. I never thought I would see him like that but boy did he put me to shame on the things I was worrying about."

Lucas snickered and shook his head. He then sat back and made small talk while they waited on Brooke to wake up and for Peyton, Jake, and Haley to get back. He couldn't help but wonder just why it was taking them so long to get some of Brooke's things. He hoped that they hadn't run into problems because he really didn't want to have to go and bail those three out of jail for beating the shit out of Chase and Rachel. He couldn't help but grin at the picture that came to mind with that thought.
