A little heads up for readers. If anyone wants to make some slight tweaks or changes to their OCs' powers, abilities, backgrounds, or appearances, then feel free. Just remember that when the party gets to Glitzville, they'll be introduced. Anyway, time for a few new faces from MEGATech! Hope you like it!
Chapter 11:Mind Games
(No P.O.V.)
Rogueport, East side, April 10, 2013, Thursday, 10:33 A.M.
As Rick's group walked to the warp pipe on the east side, he noticed that his friends were giving his two new traveling buddies constant glares. This prompted him to say something for them to drop the issue
"Guys, give it a rest, will ya? If anyone's gonna administer punishment, it's gonna be me." Said Rick.
"But these jerks almost killed you!" Exclaimed Koopie.
"Yeah. Almost. Killing me wasn't their plan." Replied Rick in a nonchalant tone.
"We knew that Evans would've survived the battles we put him through. He's clearly a force to be reckoned with." Eon interjected.
"You need to stop talking. You two assholes don't have a say in this matter." Goombella said to the elites coldly.
"Listen, it doesn't matter! They're coming with us from now on, okay?" Rick said in a more serious tone.
"How do you even know that they're telling the truth?!" Snapped Koops.
"Because... I saw it."
"Hmm?" Mario said curiously.
"I saw the truth. When I looked into their eyes, I noticed that they weren't shaking or showing even the slightest amount of fear at all. They weren't going to run the risk of lying to my face because they knew what was going to happen if they did."
"He's right. Even though we are from the same people that created us, he wouldn't hesitate to bring us down since he's the highest in our combat ranks. Rick would destroy us." Explained Trevor.
"I think I can see how that makes sense." Said Goombella.
"Thank you. So, now can we drop the- G-Gaah!"
"Rick!" Exclaimed Koopie as she and the others ran to his side.
Rick held onto his head, cringing in pain from yet another headache. The same words from back at Hooktail castle began to echo in his head once more.
"You are the one that can save them all..." Said the unknown voice.
"W-What do you mean!? Who are you?! Grrrrrgh!"
"Rick! Speak sense! Who are you talking to?" Asked Koops as he held on to Rick's shoulder.
"I don't know! It hurts!"
Rick soon began breathing heavily and started seeing silhouettes of people fighting and events in different locations. Some looked like multiple fighters against a single person, his body becoming a sort of shadow, and some kind of powerful and destructive creature that was engulfed in flames. After a minute of enduring the visions and extreme mental pain, he got up and tried to shake himself back to reality.
"You cool now?" Asked Trevor.
"Yeah... Yeah... I think I'm good now." He replied.
"What the hell was that about?"
"Let me take a look..." Eon said as his hands started glowing.
Eon brought his hands around Rick's head and began scanning him for any strange anomalies. He closed his eyes and concentrated on finding out where he was hurting in his head.
"I think I'm beginning to see something. That's strange..." Eon said out loud to everyone.
Eon was seeing the Diamond Crystal Star take form inside of Rick's mind. He brought himself closer to find out what it meant. Eon attempted to touch it, but in the very instant he did, Eon was blasted away by an intense explosion of kinetic force. It not only ejected him from Rick's mind, but had even sent him back several feet in the process. The others were surprised at the sudden blast. Eon immediately recovered and regained his stance.
"No good... That star seems to be what's causing the problem."
"What do you mean?" Goombella asked.
"I mean that it's emitting some kind of powerful signal that's affecting his mental stability. I'll have to look into this matter further later on."
"Whatever... Anybody got any pills? I've got one serious headache here." Rick said as he was still holding his head.
The whole party chuckled a bit at Rick until they noticed that something was by his feet.
"Uhhh...Rick? Look down..." Said Koops.
"Huh?"
He looked down to see a black cat purring and brushing itself against him. Rick decided to ignore it and walk away with his friends. As they walked over to the pipe, he noticed that it was still following along.
"Go on! Shoo! Get outta here!" Rick groaned in annoyance.
"Nya..." Said the cat.
Upon further examination of the cat, Rick saw that the cat had three orange vertical lines on the top of its head and three horizontal ones on the back.
"Hey, Rick! Hurry up, will ya?" Yelled Trevor as he and the others went into the warp pipe.
Rick walked over to the pipe trying to ignore the cat. What he didn't know was that the feline attempted to get inside his backpack without alerting him. As it got in his bag unscathed, Rick and the party continued to go lower into the underground town until they noticed one of the creatures that the professor mentioned. It soon skittered its way into a large crack in the wall.
"The hell was that thing?" Asked Trevor.
"What we're looking for." Said Rick with a determined smirk on his face.
They attempted to follow the creature through a nearby pathway, but they soon found out that it was blocked by a set of iron bars.
"Crap... How do we... Oh, right. Duh." Rick thought as he realized that his hands were still covered in flames.
"Everybody stand back!"
"Why? What's- WHOA!" Exclaimed Trevor as Rick unleashed a blast of fiery energy from his left hand.
In that instant, the iron bars were completely melted by Rick's torrent of flames. As they all walked through, they saw the same creature from before on their left side. The small creature backed up into a dead end in fear. I examined it to see that it was grayish in color, on four legs and that it had a certain oval shape to it. It had big eyes and it had a small, round, green bulb hanging from an antenna on its head.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! D-Don't eat me!" Yelled the creature.
"Whoa, little guy. Chill. We're not gonna hurt ya." Said Trevor.
"Huh? Uh... You didn't come to eat me?"
"Affirmative." Said Eon.
"And you're not bullies?"
"Of course not!" Said Rick.
"For real? Phew! Boy, that's good. I thought for a second I might have an accident." Said the creature in a sigh of relief.
"Hey, wait a minute. You're one of the creatures from Boggly Woods, correct? Why are you in a dangerous place like this?" Asked Rick.
"Wh-What?! Why do you know about me? NOOO! Y-You must be... You guys are working for those X-Nauts, aren't you?! You chased me here! Noooo! It's the end!" The creature snapped accusingly.
"What the flying fuck is an X-Naut? Sounds like some kind of energy drink. Look, we're not your enemies, ok? Just take a deep breath, calm down, and tell us what's going on."
"Well... Ok. This gang of bad guys who call themselves the X-Nauts came to where I live. They came inside our Great Tree and started tearing it apart and causing trouble. So... I've come all the way here looking for help."
"A bunch of bad guys in the Great Tree? If those are the same guys that kidnapped the princess, they want that Crystal Star!" Exclaimed Koops.
"Now that you mention it, they did say something about some Crystal Star thingy... But we Punies don't know anything about any crystals or stars... Say, could you guys help us out? Maybe chase them off? If you do, we'll give you, uh... What was it? The Crystal Star? If you do, we'll have the Puni elder give you that! I don't know what that is, but if it'll help is reclaim our tree, I'm sure the elder will agree! So what do you say? Let's not waste anymore time. I'm begging you!"
Mario, Rick, and the rest of the group nodded their heads in confirmation. The Puni was ecstatic at the unanimous decision.
"Really?! You aren't joking?! You'll do it?!"
"Come on. Fighting a whole militia's worth of enemies inside a huge ancient tree and the offer of getting a new Crystal Star with little to no chance of success? How could we resist?" Said Trevor.
"Agreed. It's been a long time since I've gotten the opportunity to really kill." Eon said with some enthusiasm.
"Why the hell not? I've actually just gotten a perfect chance to get my knuckles bloody." Said Rick.
Goombella and the others were a bit frightened by what the elites said, but that didn't stop them from agreeing as well.
"Oh, thank you so much! This is great! I'm so happy! My name's Punio. Pleased to meet you! I'll take you to where I live. Follow me, ok? It's this way." Punio said while scurrying into another hole in the wall.
The walls that were on top of the staircase next to them had flipped open like revolving doors, revealing a hidden passage. Once the group walked through, they saw a warp pipe sticking out of the wall that was different than the others that they've seen. It was grey, had a hexagon shape and it had a small hole for Punio to go through.
"You can get to the woods we Punies live in by going through that pipe there. Ok! Hurry! Hurry!"
Once they crawled into the pipe, it was only mere moments before they had arrived to Boggly Woods. Everyone was in awe as they looked around and marveled at the beauty of this new form of nature. The sky had a gradient color to it as looked like it kept getting darker when they looked higher and looked lighter when they looked down. The woods seemed tranquil, yet they created an eerie and lonely atmosphere accentuated by large gusts of wind, rustling black trees with white leaves, and shifting, rainbow-colored earth.
"This place... It feels...so calm...so quiet...so...peaceful." Rick said in a very relaxed tone.
"Hey, Rick? You think maybe you should get rid of your flames before stepping on the ground?" Suggested Koops.
"Oh! Right! Um... Hey, you guys know how to turn this elemental shit off?" Rick said asking Trevor and Eon.
"Concentrate." Eon said to me.
Focusing for a few seconds, I looked at my whole body to see that my transformation had disappeared.
"Congratulations. You're now able to control fire at your leisure. Use your power well."
"Um... Ok. The tree should be about a day's walk from here. If we start now, we should get to the halfway point and makes it there by tomorrow." Said Punio.
"A WHOLE DAY!? You can't be serious." Exclaimed Trevor in disbelief.
"Doesn't matter now. Like it or not, we'll have to hike it. Let's get moving."
"UGH..." Groaned Trevor as he fell on his back.
"Dude, get your ass up. We gotta get moving." Said Rick a bit annoyed by Trevor's laziness.
"Can't we start tomorrow?"
"No, because we have a lot of ground to cover. So, let's get moving."
"Nah... I don't feel like going anywhere else right now..."
"Yeah? How about now?" Rick said as he took out a Tac-45 and took aim at Trevor's left leg.
(BANG!)
"OW! SON OF A BITCH!" Trevor said in a higher tone as he recoiled his leg in pain.
"Rick! Don't you think that was going a little too far!?" Koopie said trying to take the gun away from me.
"Relax. He'll be fine. I'll patch him up later. Eon, carry him."
(Rick's P.O.V.)
Eon simply nodded and picked up Trevor with his psychic power. While we journeyed through the forest, we ran into a lot of new enemies like Ruff Puffs, Clefts, and Piranha Plants. Our group traveled for hours until we noticed that it was beginning to get dark. My friends helped set up the tent while I took care of Trevor's wounds. He started giving me a really mean glare. I could understand that he was still a bit pissed off about what I pulled earlier today. Then again, I'd be pissed too if some jackass shot me. After I took care of him, I gave him a few mushrooms and went to make the fire. I took out one of my swords and started cutting off some branches for firewood. A few minutes after I made the fire, everyone gathered around its warmth and we soon started roasting mushrooms and telling stories to pass the time.
The same cat that I saw back in Rogueport jumped out from my backpack and onto my head at that moment. I took the thing off my head and started scolding at it for not listening to me when I told it to leave me alone. It just looked like it was about to cry after my little episode. A part of me definitely felt like a jackass for yelling at a cat, so I decided to apologize and keep it with me for three reasons. For one, I wanted to stop being such a jerk to it. Secondly, something kept telling me that this cat would be a pretty good addition for me and my buddies. And third, there was no way in hell I was going to walk all the way back to the town just to bring this thing back. The cat soon settled itself on my lap and Goombella began telling us about a lot of Mario's feats and adventures.
Trevor became pretty interested by the battle with the Crystal King. I was intrigued by the stories as well when I heard that he had battled a powerful weapons maker called Smithy. The part about it that really grabbed MY attention was the big sword that crashed into Bowser's castle. I could just imagine about how powerful I could become with a weapon like that. We talked for a while and soon, everybody but me, Goombella, and the elites went to their tents to sleep. This special moment made me think about parents. The times that I had whole I was younger actually brought some tears to my eyes. I soon reached into my backpack, searching for my most treasured possession.
"Evans?"
Eon's voice caught my ears.
"Yeah, Eon? What is it?" I asked curiously.
"What're you doing?"
"Give me a sec..."
I dug around in my bag until I found a necklace with a cross hanging on it. It had a small round ruby in the middle of it. I brought it up for everyone to view.
"Check it out. It's a hand-me-down. This cross has been in my family for generations. And now, it's been given to me by my parents."
"What happened to your parents, Rick?"
My somewhat happy mood changed into one of sadness. Eon noticed that his question may have hit a nerve.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't realize that-"
"No. No. It's fine. It's all I have left to remember my parents by." I said with my voice breaking a bit And tears beginning to show in my eyes.
"They were very kind to me, and they always took good care of me. My dad was a pro boxer and my mom was a stay at home mom. He was always the toughest in the family. They told me plenty of stories about my grandparents, but they never told me about where they were, though. I always felt like my parents were hiding something about them, but I didn't let it bother me. Everything was great until that day. The day my entire world fell apart. My parents and I were sleeping when a thief broke into our house. My dad tried to protect us, but he got overpowered in an instant. It was like the guy had superhuman strength or something. The thief shot him five times with pistol that he was carrying and then aimed for my mother. He shot her three times. Both of them died from blood loss. I tried to stop him myself, but he knocked me away with one swift kick. He didn't choose to kill me, though. To this day, I still wonder why. His face looked really familiar though. As if, I've known him for a long time..."
"Was that it?" Asked Trevor.
"Yeah... Some of my memories...I can't quite make out."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that it feels like there are still chunks of my memories that are just...gone. Like, nothing was ever there."
Eon became silent for moment, pondering my response. He seemed think that something was a bit off about what I said. I wiped the tears away from my eyes and turned to Goombella.
"Hey, Goombella?"
"Yeah, Rick?"
"You mind if I take a look at that book of yours for a bit? I wanna read up a bit more on this world's species."
"Go ahead." Said Goombella as she gave me her book.
"Hold on a minute, Rick. What about your clothes?" Trevor asked.
"Hmm?"
I looked down on myself to see that my clothes were badly damaged from all of my recent fights. There was blood, tears in the fabric, and some scratches. I guessed that I could've used a change in wardrobe.
"Here. Put these on." He said handing me a stack of clothes.
I went around a tree and did a quick removal of my clothing. The clothes that Trevor gave me started levitating all of them started latching onto me. I walked back around and showed everyone my new gear. I had on a sleeveless jacket with its collar pointing upwards. It went all the way down to the back of my knees and I was wearing a pair of metallic gloves and matching boots. I was also wearing a pair of black-denim jeans and a black turtleneck shirt. (See right side of profile pic)
"Thanks. I'll take watch for the night. I'll be up in that tree." I said pointing over to one in the direction of where we came from.
I took a Ballista sniper rifle out from my bag, got into the tree, and found a decent branch for me to rest on.
Boggly Woods, Campsite, 11:23 P.M.
...
...
...
"I've been up on this branch for hours and I haven't seen a single enemy. This sucks. WHY DID I EVEN VOLUNTEER FOR THIS!? Hey, wait. I still have Goombella's book. Glad I still have something to pass the time."
I opened up the book and looked through the pages to see various species that we already encountered. Shamans, like that Merlon guy in Rogueport, Shy Guys (apparently some that are normally guys can be female as well), Monty Moles and their subspecies, Duplighosts, Lantern Ghosts, Bandits, Crazee Dayzees, Ninji, Tanooki, Piantas, Nokis, Rex and their subspecies, Snifits, Wigglers, and even bat-like creatures called Swoopers. I was amazed that I had so much to learn about this new universe and what exists in it. I soon found a section about Squeeks. As I recalled, Ms. Mowz was one of them. I did a bit more about that area and I found out that...well...it was the time of the year when they, like certain species, go into heat.
"Ms. Mowz is in heat? Wow. I guess that explains why she was flirting with me. Wait, didn't say something to me before about seeing me again soon? Man... If she's in heat, then that means... Oh boy..." I thought trailing off.
My face was as red as a freaking tomato when that popped up in my head. I knew that she liked me and all, but I didn't think that she was THAT into me! Geez... I read a bit more on the other species and their heat cycles just in case the chances of me sleeping with more ladies goes by. A part of me told that I was probably overthinking things, but another part told me that I shouldn't take the risk. After I hit a certain point in the book, I chose to stop and get back to watch duty.
"Man... I bet the other elites don't have to put up with this shit..." I said to myself as I looked through the scope.
(No P.O.V.)
MEGATech Inc., Training Rooms, April 10, 2013, Thursday, 11:19 P.M.
The entire area was covered in white panels in what appeared to be a giant boxed room. Inside the room was a young boy and girl. They both had appeared to be in their early 20s in the same standard Project clothes fighting three large battle mechs in a line. The mechs were built with cannon arms on their right sides. The left sides had mechanical claws for fingers to instantly grab opponents. The mechs also had built-in target finders inside of their camera eyes to locate their enemies instantly. The top halves of their bodies were very bulky and the lower halves were equal as well. Their feet were flat, and there were special rocket packs that were concealed on their backs for aerial combat. (Check the left side of my profile pic.)
The boy had a large double-ended wrench strapped to his back and his right arm was replaced and completely made out of steel and bionic tech with a comm. unit, data storage unit, and a special array of long range weapons. His skin had a dark tone to it, he was about 5'7, his hair was brown, a bit like Nathan Drake's hair, and he had a pair of square goggles on his head.
The girl had long black hair, she was 6 feet tall, she carried two metallic, floating tomahawks along with a large axe (The large axe is like Asteroth's from Soul Calibur) with orbs on the bottom ends with a strange, yellow and green liquid inside of them, C-cup breasts, and she had the same skin color and clothes. Both of their eyes had dark scleras and white pupils. They both had angry looks on their faces and they were snarling and growling like wild animals. Dr. Levins was staring at them from a window on their right side.
"Begin daily combat training." Said Levins over the speaker.
"UNDERSTOOD, DOCTOR." Said a male computerized voice
"ACQUIRING TARGETS. ANALYZATION COMPLETE. TARGET ONE CONFIRMED AS PROJECT EPSILON. TARGET TWO CONFIRMED AS PROJECT UPSILON. ENGAGING BATTLE MODE."
"Epsilon. Upsilon. Attack."
The boy charged at the one in the middle as the other two opened fire with their cannon arms, shooting energy balls right at him.
"SHIFT STEP!" Yelled Epsilon as he ran.
He looked like he was fading out and disappeared from sight. He reappeared from the air above, took the large wrench from his back, and smashed the drone's head, following up as he landed and swung his wrench upwards to knock it away into the air and onto its back. The one on his left prepared to fire another round when the girl sliced off its arms with her tomahawks. The areas where the arms were cut off were beginning to bubble from the liquid and the metal started melting away.
The right mech attacked Epsilon by punching him, but he disappeared again. Upsilon jumped up and used her axe to cleave it in half down the middle. The last drone got back up from Epsilon's last attack and prepared to launch a missile volley. Its attack was stopped when parts of its body began getting crunched inwards as if it was imploding. Epsilon was actually in the air above, growling with his right hand raised, gradually clenching it in unison as the robot. The drone was soon crushed into nothing but a mere ball scrap metal.
"TRAINING MODE:COMPLETE. ALL UNITS. STANDBY FOR TODAY'S BRIEFING."
"Excellent work, you two." Said Levins.
The mega humans only growled in response to Levins' compliment.
"As always, you have both done well in the combat evaluation. For today, I'm going to send you both out on the field. I need you to find something that's been taken from me."
As he continued talking, he noticed that his communicator on the side of his jacket was being contacted.
"Director Levins? Are you there? Hello?" Said the voice
Levins picked up the the communicator and responded.
"Go ahead."
"We can't seem to find Delta and Psi, sir. It appears that Alpha may have destroyed them as we thought."
"Damn... No matter. Proceed as planned. We're sending two more elites out on the field. Prepare the portal. How much longer until Omega is ready for combat?"
"She should be thawed out in a few more hours, sir."
"Excellent. Return to the current task at hand."
"Yes sir."
(Communicator cuts off.)
"Both of you head to the portal room. Bring back Alpha."
As they both grunted in conformation, Epsilon and Upsilon dashed off to the portal. Levins went back into his office and got onto his computer. A blurred video of a person appeared on his monitor in a video chat program window.
"Do they know?" Said the person on the monitor in a scrambled, low voice.
"No. None of them do. And I intend to keep it that way. Is everything proceeding as planned? Did you get the weapons that I sent?" Asked Levins.
"Yes. I feel that we're getting closer in our search for the cube. As for our secondary objective... I've yet to receive a report."
"Understood. Resume the primary objective."
"Affirmative. Logging out."
As the video window closed itself, Levins walked up to the window of his office and looked at the city.
"You can run, Evans. But, you can't hide. Not from me. Never from me." Levins said as his eyes began glowing black and white.
Boggly Woods, Campsite, 11:47 P.M.
(Rick's P.O.V.)
I was asleep after looking through the rifle for a while. I know that I'm supposed to be protecting everybody and all, but this whole guard duty thing is CRAZY boring. I was woken and startled after I heard a nearby blast of energy from the sky hitting the ground. It was just like back in Rogueport. I fumbled with my rifle and searched through the scope for any nearby hostiles. I saw something shiny in the distance and saw it flying right at me. I defended myself by using my rifle as a shield. It looked like a tomahawk. Somehow, I kind of expected something to fly at me. What I didn't expect was the fact that my Ballista was melting in the process! I turned my head to the tents and yelled as loud as I could.
"GUYS! WAKE UP! WE'VE GOT TROUBLE!"
Everyone inside of them started scrambling for their clothes and gear. Just when I turned back around, I saw another flying at me. I reacted in time and jumped up to dodge it, only to be hit by a tree that was thrown at me as well. I fell right into the middle of the campsite as the others got out from their tents. The new enemies were moving too fast for them to be normal native beings. They had to have been mega humans. It was the only logical explanation to it. Mario and the others were watching their sides while Punio got behind Mario for safety. My two swords were soon unsheathed and I held them tightly in my hands, ready to fight.
"EVERYBODY HIT THE DECK!"
As they all got on the ground, I immediately did an instant 360 and tried out a new move with my swords.
"ZION SLASHER!" I yelled as hundreds of cuts and slashes from my swords flew off in the air in every direction.
Many of the trees nearby were chopped to pieces as the attack went right through all of them. All of the sliced up trees fell down and two shadows quickly emerged and jumped from them before they fell. The two figures had the same clothes like the other elites and they looked like they were carrying some pretty powerful melee weapons.
"Gary? Greta? Is that you?" Trevor said while walking closer and reaching his left hand out to them.
"Trevor! Get back!" Yelled Eon.
"Huh?"
"GRRAAAAGH!" Roared Greta as she swung her axe down at Trevor.
He performed a backflip and dodged the axe by mere inches before getting hit.
"SON OF A BITCH! What the hell's your problem, Greta?!"
"Trevor. Look." Said Eon.
We all carefully observed them both for a brief moment before Trevor spoke up.
"They look pretty pissed. So what?" Trevor said to Eon.
"Their eyes are black and white. That's not normal for the both of them. Their eyes are actually purple and orange. Plus, they don't really act like this at all."
"Any idea why they look like they've lost their shit?"
"I'm not sure. We'll need to get close to them to figure that out."
The one that was called Gary charged right at me and the others as Eon finished his sentence.
"Let's just hope that they don't kill us beforehand! Incoming!" I yelled jumping back.
He swung his wrench at me at an insanely fast pace, not showing any signs of slowing down. Gary soon stopped swinging and brought the wrench by his side. He held it like a shotgun and aimed above us.
"GRAVITY BLASTER!" He yelled as he fired.
A somewhat large purple orb was launched and it emitted a huge blast of purple energy that just zoomed by us. Before we knew it, everyone was starting to float. My friends began freaking out by this sudden change. I tried using my gravity powers, but it was to no avail. That blast made them completely useless.
"EON! Who the hell are these guys?!" I yelled.
"These two are known in the facility as Epsilon and Upsilon! They're both extremely deadly opponents in MEGATech! Don't get careless!"
"Got it!"
Gary jumped up and started knocking us all in different directions with his wrench. I grabbed onto some of the chopped up debris and grappled onto him. He started flailing and struggling to break free, but I was able to kick him right into his own attack. The orb detonated upon impact, re-stabilizing the area's gravity. Greta growled at my last attack on her brother and started throwing her tomahawks at me again.
"RICK! Don't let those things touch you! She's an acid user!" Yelled Trevor.
"Oh shit!" I exclaimed in my head.
I had to keep dodging her swings like crazy. This battle was really not going well. We had to figure out something that we could've done to beat them. I saw an opening and attacked her with full force.
"SOLID KNUCKLE METEOR!"
My attack smashed her in the stomach and sent her flying through five unharmed trees. She attempted to get up, but she was too weak from my hit at full power. I was about ready to knock her out when her blades began attacking me on their own. The acid from their strikes burned like hell. Another zoomed by my face and I managed to grab it by the handle and defend against the second one. The blades kept hitting each other as I tried to protect myself. I kept up the pace for a while until my memory hit me as I recalled picking up a Stopwatch from one of my earlier battles. I reached into my left pants pocket, pressed the button on the top, and threw it, causing the blades to stop moving in mid air. I looked to my left side to see that Trevor was trying to freeze and take down Gary with his gun.
"SHIFT STEP!" Yelled Gary.
Gary was moving even faster than any of us and started moving too fast for us to catch up with him. Trevor didn't even try and extended out his right leg, tripping the reckless gravity master and making him crash into a tree and making him dizzy. He shook it off and tried to attack again, but Eon teleported next to him and punched him out cold. Something did seem a bit odd though. They seemed a lot weaker than us for some reason. The rest of the party attempted to grab them both and I helped tie them up to a nearby tree. We couldn't risk them attacking us again before we found out what was wrong with them both.
"I'm guessing you didn't want to fight, right?" I asked Trevor.
"Hmm?"
"That at tripping thing that you did to him. Didn't feel like putting in anymore effort, so you just did it the lazy man's way, right?"
"Duh. I hate doing actual work. It's lame."
"So... Any ideas on how to fix them, Eon?" I asked.
"I'll need to tap into their minds like I did back in the town when I tried to help you. I think that you'll have to help me this time." He said to me.
"And just how in the hell am I supposed to do that? In case you've forgotten, I'm not a psychic like you, man."
"Calm yourself, Alpha. I'll show you."
End of Chapter 11...
Me:Well, it looks like you'll taking a little mind trip.
Rick:Really wish that I didn't have to.
Me:Sorry, but you don't exactly have a say in it. So...have fun!
Rick:I hate you.
Me:Want me to bust out the train again?
Rick:Shutting up now.
Me:Good boy.
I'm going to be putting up a poll soon, so keep an eye out, everybody! Write a review, PM me if you've got questions, and tell me what you think about the story. BTW, those were legitimate creatures from the Mario wiki page. If you still don't believe me, then look it up. It might serve as a good reference guide for more OCs.
