'Wasn't that your old man back there?' Church questioned to the blond.
'Yeah.' Naruto replied still moving forward.
'So why didn't you kick his ass or anything?!' Church demanded.
'One, because I already did kick his ass, and two because it's like a few years before I was conceived. So I don't think I'd be fair to kick his ass for sealing the Kyūbi into me, when he hasn't done it yet.' Naruto said.
'Hmm…you've matured, since that little blond boy I first met.' Church said.
'Thanks…Wait, what the hell is that supposed to mean?!' Naruto demanded, but got no answer.
Naruto eventually arrived at the tower he saw Sāra in, before he dramatically broke the window and landed in a hall. 'Did you have to break the window?' Tex asked dryly.
"Fuck yeah, breaking shit's awesome." The blond replied.
'Only idiots think that.' She stated.
"You break things all the time." Naruto rebuked, well when she's pissed.
'Just because I do something, it doesn't make it smart.' Tex said.
"Huh, I wonder if she knows, she just called herself an idiot." The blond said to himself. "I think I'd be best not to point that out." He added quietly as he followed Sāra. Naruto pulled out his Battle Rifle when he saw the red-head be pulled into a closet.
The blond walked up to the closet door, before he took a step back. Then kicked the door in, causing all the occupants inside to panic. "What the fuck is goin' on here?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow when he saw a dozen people with colt-like clothing and pitch forks, while Sāra was close to the destroyed door.
"Okay, put the pitch forks down, and we'll talk, man to weirdoes." Naruto ordered, causing one of the colt-like people to spasm and freak the fuck out. But after a second the lights in the closet turned on. The blond blinked a few times, when the cultist took off their masks.
"I'm Sarai and we meant no harm." The ugliest fuck Naruto had ever seen.
"So you pull Sāra into a dark closet, filled with shady ass people, all them weapons I might add…and you expect me to believe 'you meant no harm'." Naruto said slowly. "Do I look like a retard? Because that is the most unbelievable bullshit I've ever heard!" He ranted, still aiming his Battle Rifle.
"Please forgive us, I'm Masako." A woman voiced.
"We just wanted to make a request of, Sāra-sama." The ugly guy informed.
"Uh-huh…a request…that requires dozens of people to ask…that needs weapons…in a shady area." Naruto replied slowly. "Sure, let's all act like I believe that, what are you 'requesting'?" He asked.
"What is it that you wish for me to return to you?" Sāra asked confused.
"Come with us, we'll show you." The woman voiced, but Naruto didn't lower his Battle Rifle. Sāra moved in front of Naruto and forced him to lower the rifle.
"I want to know what they want." Sāra stated to the blond.
"Oh God." Naruto muttered to himself. "I'm not going to argue logic with anyone." He added. 'Sense apparently no one thinks I'm smart and all my suggestions are…ignored.' Naruto thought with annoyance, as he followed the Red-head and the weird cultists.
"You do realize we could be walking into a trap, right?" Naruto whispered to the Queen.
"So? I have someone who's out for my life. Walking into a trap wouldn't change that fact." Sāra replied.
"Okay let me rephrase that…You do realize following a bunch of fuckin' weirdoes, who were openly hostile by the way, into a sewer is shady as hell." Naruto informed.
"In your future, are others as vulgar as you are?" Sāra asked with narrowed eyes.
"Eh." Naruto sounded as he did a so-so gesture.
"And those 'weirdoes' as you like to call them, are my subjects." Sāra added.
"So? Just because they're your subjects, it doesn't change the fact that they freak the fuck out of me." Naruto responded, getting a huff from the Red-head.
"I-I'm curious, if you're from the future. What's Rōran like?" Sāra asked curiously.
"It's ah, it's nice." Naruto replied evasively.
"I want the truth." Sāra she said with narrowed eyes.
"It's completely fucked up, nothing but ruins." Naruto said with a complete straight face.
"W-what, how's that possible?" She asked fearfully.
"Oh, in about a few years there's a world war. And this place is attacked since it's near Suna." Naruto informed.
"But…" Sāra began.
"It's a fixed point, me telling you about the war, doesn't give you enough time to protect this place from the War or any attacks." He said sadly.
"Is there anything I can do?" She asked.
"Re-location." Naruto suggested with a shrug. "If you want to protect everyone here you'd have to move." He added.
"But this city thrives on the Lay Line, how will we get power?" She questioned.
"There are a lot of ways to get energy…Fossil Fuels…Water…Steam…Solar power…Hydrogen Fuel…Plasma…Hard light." Naruto listed off. "Chakra isn't the only energy out there." He added, causing Sāra to look off.
"How do you know all this? Even if you are from the future, you're only a few decades ahead. How can you know this?" Sāra questioned.
Naruto looked around and noticed the people leading them were a bit ahead. "D, why don't you come out for a sec?" He said. Sāra looked at Naruto weirdly for a second, before she heard a chiming sound. She saw a small see through green armored solder, similar to the Cyan solder she'd seen before.
"Hello, how may I be of assistance?" A calm voice asked.
"Oh, I just wanted to show you off. You know the usual." Naruto said.
"I was not made to be shown around." Delta stated.
"I know Delta, she was just curious about how I knew the things I know." Naruto replied, causing Delta to tilt his head forward slightly, before he faced the surprised Red-head.
"How may I be of assistance?" Delta questioned.
"How does Naruto know all these things? He has technology that's decades if not century's ahead if our time." Sāra asked curiously as she glanced at Naruto. To see he was glancing at her.
Delta looked from the red-head to the blond. "I'm I authorized to answer her questions?" The A.I. of logic asked curiously.
"Yeah, yeah sure whatever…nothing to…in detail though." Naruto responded, getting a nod from Delta before he faced the Red-head. While Delta was talking to Sāra, The blond was having an internal conversation.
'Are you sure it's safe to divulge that information?' Tex asked seriously.
'Sure, plus if I'm right, Minato seals the Lay Line. I think this is when it happens, and in doing so leaves this city susceptible to future attacks. So doing this might give Sāra and her…weird subjects a chance to survive.' Naruto responded.
'Hmph.' was the sound he got from Tex.
'Don't listen to that cranky Bitch. You do what you gotta do.' Church voiced getting a nod from Naruto. 'Just don't be a complete retard, while you're doing it.' He added, getting annoyed sigh from the blond.
After a few minutes the group arrived at the exit of the sewers. Naruto watched the weirdoes leave, before he helped up Sāra. After she was out, the blond jumped out and landed perfectly fine. When the two were out, Naruto recalled Delta so no one else would see him.
"There you are. I was going to blow up the whole area until I found you." Naruto heard Iota's voice say over his COM that was still in his ear.
"It's alright." Naruto whispered so no one could hear him, before the sound of fireworks caused him to look up.
"How beautiful." Sāra muttered commenting on the lights and the parade in front of them. "This parade seen from this point is remarkably beautiful." She commented.
"Yeah." Naruto said with narrowed eyes, when he saw something off. 'These things look like there…looping what they did a few seconds ago.' The blond thought to himself.
"This parade was Anrokuzan's I idea." Sāra informed. "It's an effort to enliven me and the people, after my mother suddenly passed away." She added setting alarm bells off in Naruto's head.
'Uh Fuck.' Naruto thought to himself.
"Well that's so weird." The ugly guy said.
"Heh, and your one to talk." Naruto commented.
"What's so weird about that?" Sāra asked slightly upset.
"Because everyone mocks you, Sāra-sama. They call you the puppet princess." Sarai voiced, getting a distort look from Sāra.
"Hey Fat Fuck McGillicuddy, quit being a fuckin' douchebag for a few minutes, would ya." Naruto said seriously, getting a glare from him.
"The puppet princes?" Sāra muttered quietly to herself.
"Sorry your highness, but you can't blame Sarai for saying such things." Masako apologized.
"I can." Naruto stated. "And it's pretty easy to." He informed uncaringly, which the woman ignored.
"It's because, one morning everyone suddenly had their families taken away from them." She said. "We were told that is was Sāra-sama's order." Masako added. 'Oh God, I see where this is going.' Naruto thought to himself, as things began to get clearer and clearer.
"Don't lie, I gave no such order!" Sāra replied angrily. Naruto ignored the rest of the conversation as he counted the loops the parade went through. Every few seconds or so the people in the parade would do the exact same thing they did a few seconds ago.
Naruto listened to the conversation, until it reached to the point they were talking about people who adore her. "No one is over joyed with seeing you." The ugly guy informed.
"What are you talking about!? Many people are enjoying themselves here, aren't they?" Sāra rebuked, but a loud sigh got their attention. They saw Naruto walk up to the parade, they watched with wide eyes as he casually walked up to a bystander and grab it by the back on the neck, before he tossed it over his shoulder.
"What do you think you're going!?" Sāra demanded, only for Naruto to toss the body down un-charismatically.
"It's a puppet." Naruto stated with a sigh as he looked at the doll, getting a mortified look from the red-head. "I'd hazard a guess and say all the people out there are puppets, too." He added as he glanced at the parade.
"T-that's impossible." Sāra said to herself.
"Let's just skip the whole 'denial' thing, alright." Naruto said tiredly. "Sometimes there is no hidden meaning, things are how they seem." He stated, as he knelt down next to the puppet.
"What…what's the meaning of this?" Sāra questioned, causing the blond to look up and see a puppet version of her on top of a balcony.
"It's even worse than I thought." Naruto muttered to himself as he looked at the puppet. "Odds are Mukade is using your image to control the remaining civilians here…what a Dick." He theorized.
"A- Anrokuzan would never do that." Sāra voiced, but Naruto could hear the wavering in her voice, before she ran off.
"Well nice goin' Naruto." The blond said to himself, before he looked to the ugly guy. "I still don't like you." Naruto added before he went after the distort Queen. After a few minutes of looking Naruto heard the sound of someone singing, which he remembered from when he first arrived here.
Naruto walked until he found Sāra sitting alone. "Hey, so you like to sing?" He asked as he knelt down next to her.
"No, it's just the song my mother always sang to me." She admitted with a slight smile. "Did you know it was Anrokuzan who proposed to mother the Lay Line's power should be used for the sake of the people? My Mother's ability to manipulate the Lay Line's power, combined with the technology that Anrokuzan brought, enabled Rōran to quickly develop into the city of a thousand towers." Sāra informed.
"However, my mother died before seeing her life's work completed." Sāra stated. "When my mother passed away, Anrokuzan was the only one by my side, nobody…no one else." She muttered to herself.
"You know, I don't have any parents." Naruto said as he sat next to Sāra. "But after being alone for so long, I did find someone I could call a father." He added with a slight smile. "I do know how you feel. If someone ever even suggested that He was trying to manipulate me, I'd laugh at their faces. I have the most absolute trust in him. So I know you have the most absolute trust in Mukade, but Mukade is deceitful. I just don't want to see you get hurt, after you discover the truth." Naruto said seriously, before he glanced at the Red-head.
"Look ah...there are something's that I have inherited from my father. Some of them important, some of them not so important, but I do know you inherited something from your mother too and it's not material…but it was something she treasured." Naruto said.
"Yes, it's true" Sāra admitted.
"If that's the case, then focus on it. And then you'll know what to do." Naruto stated, causing Sāra to look off. The blond took a few steps away from her, to give her some room. Naruto took out his Battle Rifle and check to see if it was fully loaded, before he did the same thing with the Brute Shot.
"I understand." Sāra voiced. "But, first I must ascertain the truth about this city." She informed. "We, the Queens of this city, have the power to sense the flow of the Lay Line. If we find out where the pipes that disperses its power from, originated then we'll find the truth." Sāra stated.
"Yeah." Naruto muttered. 'I don't really think you want to know the truth.' He thought.
Naruto began to walk, only for Sāra to stop him. "Aren't we going to get the others?" She asked, referring to the weirdoes.
"Um…no." He replied as he began to walk again, getting an annoyed look from the red-head before she followed. The two arrived at the central area were all the pipes that dispersed the Lay line's power, originated from.
"This vent is connected to the relay point that transmits the Lay Line's flow to the entire city." Sāra informed.
"Hmm…so we're going to have to go underground again…" Naruto said to himself, before he put a hand up to his ear. "Yeah, yeah just get your little ass, down here." He said, getting a look from Sāra.
"Who are you…" she began only to hear something land next to her.
"It's so good to see you again." A sarcastic voice said, causing Sāra to turn and see the same Cyan colored being she saw earlier today.
"Iota, play nice." Naruto responded as he pulled on of the vents out of the ground, so the trio could sneak into the underground lair. The three snuck through the area, until they found where the kidnapped families were being used for labor, along with an assembly line that created puppets.
"Hmm…they're puppets." Naruto stated as he looked around. 'Very original, no verity what's so ever.' He thought. All the puppets looked exactly the same with each other.
"I can't believe that Anrokuzan would use the power of the people to construct weapons." Sāra said out loud in disbelief.
"What're you gonna do?" Naruto asked.
"I will put a stop to this." Sāra declared, getting a smirk from the blond.
"Good." Naruto muttered, before he glanced to Iota, who was watching the puppets through her Sniper.
"Please take me over there." Sāra said as she pointed to an altar, getting a nod from the blond. "I can cut the power from the Lay Line from there." She informed.
"Sure." Naruto voiced as he picked Sāra up bridal style and vanished in a blur of speed. The blond appeared right next to the altar, and put the red-head down. The two walked up to the altar.
"Please stand back." Sāra said to the blond, before he entered the altar.
"Okay." Naruto replied with a shrug as he took several steps back and pulled out his Battle Rifle and glanced around. While he was checking the surroundings for Puppets, Sāra was sealing off the Lay Line. After a few seconds the factory completely stopped. When the power was cut off, Naruto went check on the red-head.
"It should be fine now. I cut the power from the Lay Line that was being directed to the factory." Sāra informed.
"Good, let's free the prisoners before the skinny insane asshole shows up." Naruto said.
"My Queen, what are you doing in a place like this?" a self-entitled voice asked, causing the two to glance up. 'Damn, Mukade sure has let himself go.' Naruto thought when he saw a fat Mukade.
"Anrokuzan, I've halted the Lay Line's flow! I will not allow you to use this power for the sake of war!" Sāra declared. "I command you as Queen, stop the development of these puppet weapons, and release the people that were forced into labor, immediately!" She ordered.
"Oh, so you found out that much already?" Mukade asked rhetorically. "In that case, I cannot allow you to live, can I?" He said with a smirk. "A puppet figure will be just fine for your replacement. After all, the puppet army is already completed." Mukade informed.
"How about we skip the cliché villain monologue, and we get right to the part where I kill you." Naruto said as he leveled his Battle Rifle at the puppet master. "Sāra, I'll take care of fat ass here, you free the prisoners, alright?" He asked as he glanced in her direction.
Sāra had a conflicted look before she nodded. "Okay." She muttered as she headed for the prisoners.
"Hmm, so you're Mukade, you sure gotten fat." Naruto stated. "But eh, I'm not one to judge about that kinda thing. I would have stuffed my face too, if I was that ugly." He taunted.
"You! You'll suffer for you insolence!" Mukade yelled as he raised his hands dramatically, but in doing so summoned dozens of puppets.
"Man, you're totally off your rocker." Naruto commented with a sigh. "Just what I need, to fight an insane guy with a God Complex…fuckin' great." He muttered, before he jumped back when a puppet tried to stab him. Naruto unloaded several shots into the puppet's face causing it to stagger back slightly. But after a few seconds the puppet's face fixed itself.
'It seems that, that weakness is a no go.' Naruto thought to himself.
"Do you know how pointless it is? My puppet army is invincible, no matter what you do, they'll fix themselves." Mukade ranted.
"Hmm." Naruto sounded with a nod. "That does sound like a problem." He said as he put his Battle Rifle on his back, then pulled his Brute Shot out, and then loaded the incendiary rounds. "But think it'll be a bit…difficult to fix your puppets, when they're nothing but ash and dust." Naruto said with a smirk before he jumped up and fired an incendiary at the closest group of puppets. While he was in the air, the explosion from the grenade sent Naruto to a different location.
The blond landed on top of another puppet, before he fired a grenade under him as he jumped up again. Naruto landed on the ground in a crouch, before he fired several precise shots at the puppets, turning them to nothing but ash.
"This is getting pretty easy…" Naruto commented only for his head to be trapped by a puppet piece. "The fuck!" He yelled as he tore the piece off, only for it to enclose itself around his other hand. Before he could reacted all the still working puppets disassembled and trapped Naruto in a dome. "Uh crap." He muttered to himself, when he tried to move his hands only to realize they were bound. Naruto used most of his strength to slowly move his hands together, but he also heard the conversation outside.
"I must give my gratitude for all this time, Sāra-sama." Mukade voiced. "You exerted your power to aid my grand ambition in place of your dead mother. However as of now, you are useless to me. Therefore, you'll die just as you mother did." Mukade taunted.
"It can't be! You killed my mother!?" Sāra yelled.
"At long last, you finally realize it. Your mother was a shrewd queen. She immediately saw through my plans and refused to cooperate." Mukade informed. "You were quite the excellent puppet. Almost like the puppets that I manipulate. Still, it's about time that we replace you with a real puppet." He added with a smirk, but before anything could happen smoke bled through the cracks of the dome that trapped Naruto.
Mukade took a slight step back when a loud bang echoed throughout the area. Then another that shook the dome, and then another that created an indent, and then another that bent a portion of the dome's wall. Mukade watched with surprise when the bangs got more faster and the dome began to bend on itself.
After one more bang, part of the dome wall came flying off and passed Mukade and Sāra. The two heard heavy footsteps, causing them to glance at the hole on the dome. Naruto slowly walked out, decked in Maine's armor.
Naruto punched his fist and cracked his neck. "You have no idea what kind of trouble you are in." a deeper more guttural version of Naruto's voice asked, with several voices echoing behind his. Naruto looked to Sāra to see she was crying, most likely because of what Mukade told her, before he faced the puppet master.
Before Mukade could react, Naruto was right in front of him. The blond slammed his fist into the puppet master's face, embedding the man into the wall. Naruto watched as Mukade's face crack and indent on itself, but after a few seconds it healed.
"With in Rōran, my powers are infinite." Mukade stated as his wound healed completely, and then pulled himself out of the wall. Naruto took a couple of steps back, until he was next to Sāra.
"Hey, are you alright?" The blond asked to the distort Queen. "Look this isn't a time when you should be crying, okay." Naruto said in the kindest voice he could muster. "Your mother would want you doing this, would she? She'd want you to be strong for her, and for yourself." He voiced. "So quit it with the self-pity, you are no puppet, so buck up and make sure Mukade doesn't hurt anyone else." Naruto said forcefully.
Sāra rubbed the tears out of her eyes, before she stood up. "I-I understand." She said as she composed herself.
"This is going to suck." Naruto commented to himself as they were surrounded by puppets. He couldn't use the Brute Shot or risk hurting Sāra, and he couldn't charge at the puppets or risk leaving Sāra wide open.
Before the puppets could reach the duo, the heads of the closest three puppets exploded into dust, as a loud thundering roar followed. "My turn." Naruto heard Iota say as she landed right in front of the two.
"Where the hell were you?! I can think of a few instances, were I could have used your help!" Naruto announced to the A.I.
"Fighting a bunch of self-regenerating enemies is a bit of a bitch." Iota responded off handedly.
"Ain't that the truth?" Naruto muttered to himself.
"Yeah, I've wasted all my sniper rounds, just to save your ass." Iota stated as she tossed the rifle back to the blond. "I'd like another weapon." She requested.
"Sure, what do you want?" Naruto questioned.
"The Gravity Hammer." Iota said, getting a raised eyebrow from the blond.
"Hmm…that might work." He commented. "Hold them off for a second." He ordered getting a nod from the cyan armored A.I. before she charged at the puppets. Sāra watched incredulously as the white armored being pat himself down, before its shoulders sagged.
"Oh come on." Naruto said to himself, before he did a ram seal and sealed his armor. When the armor was gone, Naruto searched his Ninja pouch for a few seconds, before he pulled a scroll out. Naruto looked at Iota to see she was systematically taking out the puppets, before he opened the scroll and looked through it. After a few seconds Naruto found the right symbol, before he put his hand on it and channeled chakra into the seal. A plume of smoke later and he was holding the Gravity Hammer.
"Heads up!" Naruto announced, before he tossed the gravity hammer to the A.I. As soon as Iota caught the Hammer, she turned around and slammed it into the closest puppet, rendering it to dust. Iota jumped into the air and slammed the hammer into the puppet that tried to stab her in the back.
Naruto rolled up the weapons scroll, and then summoned his armor again. While Iota was taking care of the puppets, Naruto focused on Mukade.
"You really think you can win?" Mukade asked with a smirk.
"No, I'm fighting you because I think its fun, dumbass." Naruto replied sarcastically, wiping the smirk off Mukade's face.
"Fine, you want some fun? I'll give you fun!" Mukade raved before he started to laugh maniacally. Which Naruto would put it was top three, out of the top five of the most cliché evil laughs he'd ever heard. The second being Orochimaru and the first being Omega. Naruto watched as Mukade change into a large bug-like puppet.
"Behold! This is my ultimate form!" The Puppet Mukade announced, getting an annoyed sigh from the blond.
"No, this isn't Dragon Ball Z. You don't get to fuckin' change forms when you're getting your ass kicked." Naruto ranted, getting a confused look from Sāra. Mukade ignored the commented and attacked the blond and the red-head. The human puppet tried to slash at the two with clawed hands, only for Naruto to catch them with his armored hands.
Naruto slowly lift the puppet by the claw, with the enhanced strength from the armor, before he threw it into a wall. "Delta, can you see if this guy has any weaknesses?" Naruto questioned.
"Scanning…" Delta voiced. "I've detected no structural weaknesses in the puppet." He stated.
"Are you sure, I'm sure Sasori had a weakness in his puppet body?" Naruto asked curiously as the human puppet began to pull itself out of the wall.
"Positive, I'm not detecting a heartbeat or any type of way to identify any human anatomy inside that puppet." Delta informed.
"I see…" Naruto muttered before he faced Sāra, who was slightly intimidated by helmet. "Sāra, I'll take care of this asshole, you free the prisoners, okay." He ordered lightly, getting a nod from the red-head.
"I won't let you get away!" Mukade announced as he slashed at the Queen, only for the white armored being to catch it. Naruto pulled the clawed arm towards him, causing Mukade to also fall towards the blond. When Mukade was close enough, Naruto sent a devastating hit to his face, shattering the puppets head.
While the puppet was stunned and regenerating, Naruto grabbed onto two of its claws. Then began to slowly spin around, until he and the puppet were spinning, then he threw the puppet into the puppet assembly line.
Naruto walked up to the downed puppet and pulled his Brute Shot out. "You know, if you keep comin' back, I'll just kill you….again and again." Naruto trailed off as the puppet began to move, only to shot it in the face with the Brute Shot.
The puppet began to regenerate, but before Naruto could get a shot off. Some debris under him moved and wrapped around his ankle and threw him. The blond was embedded in a stone pillar, before he realized what happened.
"Ow!" Naruto complained from inside the pillar. But before he could pull himself out of the pillar, something grabbed onto him and pulled him out. "God Damn it Mukade! If you pull that shit again, I will so…oh." Naruto muttered.
"I thought you could use a hand, but could put you back in there, if you'd like." Iota said dryly as she took the Gravity Hammer off her back.
"Na, I'm good." Naruto replied as he stretched his shoulders, before he readied his Brute Shot. The two got into their combat positions when dozens of puppets and Mukade surrounded them. Iota held the Gravity Hammer in one hand and her grappling gun in the other, while Naruto reloaded the incendiary grenades.
"Isn't this romantic? Our first time together and we're fighting an insane ass, with a bunch of self-regenerating puppets. Aren't I such a lucky girl?" Iota said with a high amount of sarcasm.
"What can I say, I like the classics." Naruto replied with a shrug, aggravating Iota further. Before Iota could reply, Naruto charged at the closest puppet with the Brute Shot. Iota sighed loudly, before she too joined the fray.
Iota turned and slammed the Gravity Hammer into the closet puppet, sending debris flying. Before she fired the grappling gun at the mid-section piece of the puppet, and then swung the large piece of puppet into the face of Mukade. Iota then jumped up and slammed the Gravity Hammer into the back of Mukade's head, sending him smashing down into the ground. She stood on top of his head and twisted the hammer so the large blade would face outward, before she could decapitate the puppet, a white armored being pulled her out of the way, just as several blades enclosed that position.
"What the hell!" Iota yelled as she pushed Naruto off her. "I could have killed him!" She insisted.
"Yep, and your body would have been destroyed." Naruto stated. "You can't be so reckless." He said with emphasis on the 'you'.
"Shut up." Iota said forcefully as she stood back up. "Now look, your little action caused us to be surrounded. Very good job there." She snapped.
"I know, I do try." Naruto replied with a smirk, before he focused on surrounding puppets.
"Why won't you just, time us out of here?" Iota questioned with annoyance.
"You mean the Temporal Distortion Unit? Mukade and the Lay Line's power is forcing us into the past and keeping us here. I'm sure shits already unstable, if I try to travel through like this, I could be sent further into the past or fuck myself over more than I already have." Naruto replied. "But I can stall…" He began, only for the puppets to explode.
The three masked Nin landed in front of the two. "You two okay?" Minato questioned.
"Yeah, peachy." Naruto commented as he looked at all the destroyed puppets. "Well this was anti-climactic." He added with a sigh as more explosions sounded throughout the area.
"Where's the Queen?" Minato asked.
"She got to the surface with the prisoners." Naruto stated.
"Good." Minato said with a nod, before he and the group faced the human puppet. "Any ideas on how to take him down?" He questioned.
"Eh, Kinetic based attacks are basically pointless, 'cause he regenerating himself from the surrounding objects. Fire based attacks work a bit, but I think the Aburame would be the best person to attack Mukade. His bugs could leech the Lay Line's chakra out of the puppet." Naruto theorized, getting an impressed look from Minato.
"Shibi." Minato voiced, getting a nod from the Bug user, before he launched hundreds of kikaichū beetles at the puppet. Mukade tried to get the bugs off of him, but he destroyed the ground under him as a result, causing him to fall.
Naruto turned to Iota after the Puppet fell in the hole. "Iota, I need you to watch over Sāra. Odds are, Mukade will be back and he'll be pissed." Naruto ordered getting a nod from the cyan armored A.I. before she placed the Gravity Hammer on her back, then left.
The blond gripped his Brute Shot as he loaded it with the high-explosive rounds. The ground shook as a giant hand reached out of the hole, before it tore the ground creating a larger hole. Naruto sighed as a giant puppet rise out of the ground. "Oh, todays just not my day." He said to himself.
Sāra coughed as she and the prisoners escaped the smoke filled factory. She watched with guilt as the prisoners meet up with their families. Sāra jumped when she felt someone from behind tap her shoulder, before she turned and saw the Cyan armored being that worked with Naruto.
"Come on, we have to get out of here." Iota voiced.
"What's wrong?" Sāra questions.
"Something big is coming this way." Iota informed forcefully as the ground shook, Sāra nodded before she faced the civilians.
"Everyone, hurry, we have to get away from here!" Sāra announced, getting the people to move, just as the ground opened up. Mukade came out of the large hole and began to shake, trying to get the white armored being off its head.
Naruto let go of its head and jumped off, but turned mid-air and fired several highly explosive grenades at Mukade's head. The puppet's head and the upper half of its body were destroyed, but began to fix itself, as Naruto landed in front of the group.
"Sāra, I need you to get these weirdoes out of here alright." Naruto said as he glanced back at the puppet, before he faced the Red-head and got a nod from here. "Iota, I need you to watch Sāra, Mukade's gunnin' for her." He added, getting a nod from the A.I. before she followed the Queen.
Naruto faced the regenerated Puppet, before he was forced to roll out of the way as a large hand smashed into the ground. But as soon as he stood up anther hand hit him. The ground indented as Naruto held the giant arm back, with both of his arms and his back.
Naruto pushed the arm back, knocking the puppet off balance. Giving him enough time to jump back and pull the Brute Shot off his back and fire a High-explosive shot to the center of the Puppet's chest. Mukade stumbled back, due to the high concussive blast from the grenade. Naruto reloaded the Brute Shot with a sigh, when he realized he was out of High-explosive rounds and had to use the normal Grenades.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu(Shadow Clone Technique)." Naruto whispered to himself as he formed a cross with his fingers, creating three Shadow Clones. "Okay, all together now." He muttered as all his armored clones leveled their Brute Shots at the Puppet. Naruto formed at Hand seal, "Fire." He ordered, causing the clones to fire several grenades at the puppet.
"Kage Shuriken no Jutsu(Shadow Shuriken Technique)." Naruto announced, using the technique that multiplied shuriken, to multiply the grenades. All the grenades hit the puppet creating dozens of explosions with an electrical discharge following it.
After the clones dispelled and the smoke cleared, the puppet was still standing, barely though. Getting a scowl from the blond freelancer, before he took his helmet off and went through several hand seals, and then took a deep breathe. "Katon: Endan(Fire Release: Flame Bullet)" Naruto announced as he spat out large fire bomb, using one of the Jutsu he 'learned' from Jiraiya.
The large fire bomb, hit the puppet scorching a portion of the puppet. "Oh come the fuck on." Naruto complained as the puppet still headed towards him. The blond put his helmet back on and jumped out of the way as Mukade tried to hit him.
"Stay out of my way you little pest!" Mukade yelled as he kept swinging at Naruto. The armored blond landed on the side of one of the towers and watched as Mukade completely ignore him, choosing to head towards Sāra's location instead.
"Why's he so fixated on her?" Naruto asked himself, but glanced to his side when Minato landed next to him.
"I have no idea, but there has to be a special reason for that." Minato spoke. "Naruto, can you look after Sāra-sama a bit longer. We have something we need to do." He asked, getting a shrug from the white armored being. "Thanks." Minato said with a slight smile before he vanished.
"I believe I know why Mukade is so fixated on Sāra." Delta voiced inside Naruto's helmet as a small version of him formed on his HUD.
"Well don't leave me hangin' here." Naruto replied.
"If Mukade is getting his power from the Lay Line and Sāra can control the Lay Line, it's possible that he believes she can cut him from the Lay Line." Delta theorized.
"That makes sense, fuck this is bad." Naruto muttered as he followed the destruction the puppet left.
Naruto came onto a scene that made him unbelievably angry. Mukade was using Chakra threads to make Sāra choke herself, with Iota being more or less pulled apart by the threads. In one quick action Naruto grabbed his Brute Shot and channeled chakra into the large blade, and jumped off the large tower.
Naruto cut through the threads quickly and grabbed onto Sāra with one hand, and then turned to catch Iota, before he vanished. Only to reappear a few dozen yards away from Mukade, Iota pulled herself from Naruto's grip and glared at the puppet, while the blond held onto the coughing red-head.
"Listen Sāra, whatever Mukade calls you. Don't listen to him, you are you. Not his puppet." Naruto insisted, before he handed her one of his Combat knifes. "You can fight for yourself, and make sure you're never controlled again." He said as he stood back and faced the giant puppet. "Now get the hell out of here, I'll take this asshole on." Naruto informed as he cracked his neck. 'I need to put Mukade down, long enough to get Sāra to the Lay Line.' He mused with narrowed eyes.
Naruto watched as the puppet sent blasts of pure chakra at him. "Sigma, I need you to activate the Overshields." Naruto voiced.
"On it-on it." The A.I. of creativity and ambition replied evenly. Naruto charged when the Overshields were active, plowing right through the pure Chakra shots. The blond ran up the tower and dodged several large projectiles that were being launched at him. After some dodging Naruto stood and faced the puppet.
Mukade launched several large blades to the teen, but Naruto channeled chakra into his hands un-sealing two snipers. "Ah little help here Theta." Naruto voiced.
"Of course, I'm ready." Theta replied happily and after a second, everything for Naruto began to slow down. When he was in bullet time, Naruto shot all the incoming projectiles out of the air with the Snipers. When the Bullet time wore out, the bond sealed the Snipers again.
Naruto jumped from the vantage point he was at, and headed to a higher place to attack the puppet from. While he was climbing, he glanced down to see Mukade following. "Yes, follow the leader you dumbass." He muttered as he reached the top of the tower.
Naruto held his hand up and focused, creating a sphere of spiraling chakra. "Delta, you think you can transfer power here?" the blond asked.
"Affirmative." Delta replied, getting a smirk from Naruto. "Though, you'll have to deactivate your Overshields for that." He added.
"Do it." Naruto responded, before he jumped off the tower and dive bombed at Mukade. As soon as Naruto's Overshields deactivated, the Rasengan in his hand increased size exponentially. "Chōōdama Rasengan(Ultra-Big Ball Spiralling Sphere)" Naruto announced as the large Rasengan slammed into the face of the Puppet, causing it to let go of the building. The puppet fell off the building, plus with the power the Rasengan dealt, it was sent into the ground.
Naruto landed not too far away from where he started, with Minato and his team landing by his side. "Sorry we're late." Minato apologized.
"Eh." Naruto sounded with a shrug.
"Naruto!" Sāra yelled, causing the blond to quickly look towards her. He watched with wide eyes as she used the combat knife he gave her to cut her own dress off. Naruto jumped down to her.
"What's with…all this?" Naruto questioned with wide eyes, but no one could see due to the helmet blocking everyone's view. Sāra cut off most of her dress, allowing the blond to see her legs.
"I thought it was time to take action. I am the only one who can protect my people and stop the Lay Line at its source." Sāra voiced with determination.
"Good and I'll help." Naruto stated as he glanced to Iota, to see she was behind Sāra, but her focus was on the cloud of dust that was created by the puppet.
"Thanks, you remember the gardens we met in?" Sāra asked.
"Yep…so romantic." Naruto said with some amount a sarcasm, which the red-head tried to ignore but she did blush slightly.
"Yes, that area is where the Lay Line's power is unreachable and Anrokuzan won't get near it." Sāra informed when she got her blush under control.
"I see." Naruto muttered before he faced the area Iota was watching. 'It's only a matter of time before this ass gets back up.' He thought, before the ground shook.
"Sāra! I cannot allow you to Live!" Mukade announced and Naruto saw the puppet in the distance began to move.
Naruto faced the Konoha Jonin, before he got a nod from them. He moved to Sāra. "We need to get out of here, fast." He added as he glanced back.
"Let's go everyone!" Sāra ordered to the civilians, before they started to move to the safe haven. Naruto and Iota ran side-by- side as they followed the group.
"Do you have any ideas, Iota?" Naruto questioned.
"No, our weapons are useless against that thing and most of your Nin-jutsu is small in comparison to that thing." Iota replied with annoyance at not being able to think of something.
"If I have to, I could use the Kyūbi's power. There're also the two Jutsu that I've never used in real combat." Naruto said in thought.
"You don't mean?" Iota asked with surprise.
"Yeah, the Elemental Rasengans." Naruto informed seriously, as the group entered a large building that had a large spiraling stair case on it, leading to the floor. Naruto and Iota walked behind the civilians that Sāra led, while looking back to make sure they weren't followed. Eventually the group made it to the bottom of the tower where the haven was, but an explosion drew everyone's attention.
Naruto looked up to see the human puppet climbing down the walls. "Sāra, get everyone inside the garden, we'll hold this douche off." Naruto ordered, getting a nod from the red-headed Queen.
Naruto focused on the puppet, before he glanced at Iota. "Ready?" He questioned.
"Always." The A.I. replied as she readied her Gravity Hammer. Naruto nodded before they both charged at Mukade. The Puppet sent its large serrated tail at Iota, only for the A.I. to slam her Gravity Hammer at it, stopping it completely. Naruto jumped onto the puppet's face and began to fire grenades at it.
Before Naruto could react several blades impaled him, causing Naruto to vanish in a cloud of smoke. Another Naruto stood a good distance away from the Puppet, with two clones by its side. The armored blond held his hands out and formed two Rasengans, with the two other clones infusing them with two different elements. The left Rasengan turned completely black and was surrounded by a ring of flames, while the right one formed four wind blades.
The two clones dispelled as Naruto charged at the gigantic with two elemental infused Rasengans. Before the puppet could defend itself, Naruto slammed both Wind and fire infused Rasengans into Mukade's face. In a split second the two Attacks exploded and combined. Billions of micro wind blades were enhanced by the enhanced fire. Encasing the large puppet in a pillar of black and red fire spiraled around its victim.
The Real Naruto and Iota watched from a distance as the Puppet was reduced to cinder and ash. But they noticed that some of the walls and debris started to move towards the puppet. "Come on, we have to check on Sāra." The blond informed.
The two arrived at an empty area, where only Sāra was, before he could ask where they were she answered. "I was able to safely evacuate the people into the inner garden." Sāra said with a smile.
"Good, what about you though?" Naruto asked curiously.
"I know how to defeat Anrokuzan. I'll have to stop the Lay Line at its source. If I don't his powers will never run out." Sāra informed, before she looked at Naruto seriously. "I will stop the Lay Line." She declared, getting a nod from the blond.
"And I I'll help." Naruto replied, before he glanced at the puppet that was almost done reforming. "I think we should really get going." He insisted, getting the trio to head towards the Lay Line. They stopped when they heard a loud explosion. They turned around to see lots of dust at the entrance they passed.
"The Cockbite's regenerated." Iota commented before she took a step forward. "I'll hold it off…for a bit at least." She said with a sigh.
"Are you sure?" Naruto asked with concern that had Sāra envious.
"Yeah, what the hell could Mukade do to me?" She asked sarcastically.
"You've got a point." Naruto replied. 'I just hope I don't have to rebuild your body, that'd totally suck.' He thought before he and Sāra headed towards the Lay Line. The two entered a large room, one that Naruto recognized as same room he was sent to the past in. Naruto followed Sāra across the bridge, but the door to the room exploded as Iota was thrown through it.
Before Mukade could crush her, Minato appeared next to her and vanished with her. "Hurry!" Naruto announced to the Queen, knocking her out of her stupor. Naruto watched as Iota and Minato fight the Puppet, while Sāra proceeded to cut it off from the Lay Line.
When Mukade was cut off from the power, he began to get enraged. Causing him to hit at Minato and Iota to get to Sāra, he hit Iota, sending her tumbling across the bridge and landing at an awkward angle. Naruto sighed when he realized he'd have to fix her body, before he glared at Mukade as he formed a Rasengan, surprising Minato.
"You Mukade guess what… you have officially pissed me the fuck off." Naruto stated as his armored hand began to glow an ominous red as the Rasengan started to change. The sphere turned completely black, and formed a ring of fire around the edge. Naruto crouched down, before he took off in a sprint towards the puppet, causing the ground under him to crack and dust to follow him.
Naruto appeared in front of the Giant Puppet, and slammed his Rasengan onto its face. "Katon: Gōen Rasengan(Fire Release: Great Flame Spiralling Sphere)" Naruto announced, as he shoved the flame infused Rasengan into the puppet's face. The blond let go of the sphere, but it continued to move and push Mukade back, forcing him against the wall, before he was encased in a pillar of fire.
When the fire subsided one third of the puppet remained. "No…No I will not die…I will conquer the five Nations! I will rule history!" Mukade announced. "If I die…I'll bring you with me!" He yelled, causing Naruto's eyes to narrow, before he vanished and reappeared next to Iota, and then grabbed onto her before he vanished again.
Naruto appeared next to Sāra, just as Minato appeared there too. Mukade began to become engulfed in a large explosion. "Stay close to me." Naruto ordered, and before the explosion enveloped them, a large golden dome of hexagons shielded them.
The Domes energy shield slowly rotated as it deflected the kinetic energy from the explosion. After the explosion subsided the shield collapsed. Naruto knelt down next to Iota's body for a second before he started to poke it. "Hey, are you there?" Naruto questioned.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't able to save her." Minato voiced, with genuine sorrow.
"Why are you sorry? She isn't dead." Naruto said giving Minato a weird look, before he lifted Iota's head up and reached behind her helmet, and then pulled something out. Sāra and Minato watched with wide eyes as Naruto pulled an exotic looking chip out of Iota's head. "There you are, are you alright?" Naruto asked with concern in his voice.
"Other than the fact that my bodies totaled, I'm peachy." The sarcastic voice of Iota replied from the chip, before a holographic version of her formed on top of the chip. Though this version of her wasn't wearing armor, she was wearing black pants, a blue shirt that said 'Blue Army…Outpost Alpha…Blood Gulch', with a white hawk with two swords crossing in it. "It sucks. My body's broken before I even got to play." She said with a sigh.
"My heart bleeds for you." Naruto replied uncaringly as he looked over Iota's body. "Eh, it's not too bad." He voiced before he sealed it. Naruto turned to Minato and Sāra. "What's with the…" He began, only for the ground to start shaking.
Naruto and Minato quickly looked over the ledge and noticed the Lay Line's Chakra started to turn a deep crimson red. "Hmm…it seems the Lay Line's chakra is becoming unstable." Naruto muttered, as he glanced around and noticed some of the ceiling was collapsing on itself.
"Naruto, do you have the Hiraishin I gave you earlier?" Minato questioned. "I'm going to use it to seal the Lay Line completely." He informed.
"Ah, and the circle completes." Naruto muttered as he sealed his armor and pulled the Hiraishin Kunai out of his Ninja pouch. 'So this is why the seal was put here in the first place.' He thought, before he tossed the Kunai to Minato.
While Minato went to seal the Lay Line, Naruto faced Sāra. "It looks like I'll be going soon." He commented.
"Y-you're leaving?" Sāra asked with surprise and nervousness.
"Yeah, Mukade's dead and the Lay Line will be sealed. The power keeping me here will…fade. And then I'll be sent back to my time." Naruto informed with a sigh, just as Minato sealed the Lay Line, calming everything down.
"It-it can't be. Do we really have to say goodbye?" Sāra asked sadly.
"No." Naruto replied, getting a look from Sāra. "It was something….my…mother once said. 'Never say goodbye.' If you don't say 'goodbye' then you aren't really gone. You're just…you're just not here right now." Naruto spoke.
"I-I understand." Sāra said quiet. "Then I will wait, until I meet you again." She said with a slight smile.
"You can do that." Naruto said. "But you should also focus on your life. You still have a job to do." He added.
"Of course." Sāra said with determination. "I will remember you, I promise." She informed.
"It would be best to erase all memories of these events, in order to preserve history." Minato said. "I'll preform a jutsu that will make us forget about each other, okay?" He voiced.
"B-but I don't want to forget!" Sāra said to Naruto, causing the blond to close his eyes slightly before he opened them at the red-head. Naruto leaned in close to the Queen.
"And you won't…trust me." Naruto said, causing the Queen to blush slightly at the close proximity.
"I trust you with my life." Sāra replied with no hesitation, getting a nod from the blond. Naruto reached around and held onto the back of her head to help keep her memories, but Sāra got the wrong message and assumed something else. She leaned forward and sealed her lips with his, causing Naruto to blink a few times before he closed his eyes.
'Delta…do you know what to do?' Naruto asked sadly.
'Yes…' Delta replied and the blond could hear the sadness in the A.I.'s voice. '…You want me to have her remember.' He stated.
'Yes, Memory is the Key after all.' Naruto thought. 'You're the one she's familiar with, and your one of the ones I trust the most.' He added.
'You want me to protect her?' The A.I. of Logic asked curiously.
'Yes, from the upcoming war…from everything.' Naruto replied.
'I-I will do my best.' Delta informed.
'Thanks…and I'll miss you, Delta.' Naruto thought sadly.
'And-and I will…miss…you too, Naruto.' Delta replied with equal if not more sadness than Naruto had.
On the outside Naruto and Sāra continued to kiss, while the blond's hand that held the red-head's head began to glow a green color, before it fade. The two parted when Naruto began to disappear.
Sai, Kakashi and Sakura watched with sad eyes as the purple pillar the engulfed Naruto, dissipate. But was surprise when they saw Naruto sitting at the altar with a melancholic look on his face. The three Nin met up with the blond.
"Naruto, are you alright?" Kakashi questioned as he knelt down next to the blond.
"…No…not in the slightest." Naruto replied as he stood up. "Can we go?" He asked. "Mukade vaporized himself because he was at the epicenter of the blast zone. There's nothing to collect." Naruto stated as he headed for the exit.
"Yeah, this mission's over." Kakashi said as he looked at the blond, he really didn't like to see Naruto depressed.
"What's wrong Naruto? Did you have a bad dream or something?" Sakura asked, but Naruto didn't even respond to her question.
'It's alright Naruto, Delta's with Sāra, and she's with him. They' watch out for each other.' Church said trying to help his 'son'.
'I know Dad, it's just…it just...I know that if I ever meet up with him again. He'd have to have been waiting decades, for us to meet up." Naruto thought as he and the rest of his team exited the ruins.
'Well he's Delta. I'm sure he'd already thought of a way for us to meet, even before you gave him to Sāra.' Church said, getting a smile from the blond.
'That does sound like…' Naruto began only for him and the rest of Team Kakashi to stop at the sound over several loud clicking and from what Naruto knew the sound of propulsion engines.
"Attention Assholes! Put your hands up and step away from the ruins!" A voice announced, causing Team Kakashi to turn. Naruto's eyed widened when he saw dozens of people wearing UNSC type armor, but his jaw dropped slightly when he saw a Pelican Droship.
