I got a review asking why there were so many twins in my next generation family tree, and so I decided to reason it out my myself, and wrote a very long response to the reviewer.I know it's lengthy, but I want to post it-
I considered that too, but thing I have always thought was that twins can hold a lot of magic, and would be more frequent in the wizarding world. Also, families today are much more likely to have more twins, if their family has a history of twins. Molly had twin brothers, and then there is Fred and George, also very much twins. I would say that he is more likely to have twins, I think that wizarding genes are much more powerful than muggle genes, and things like twin genes would be much more powerful. I think the power in wizard's genes can be seen in how muggle/magic couples basically always end up with magical children.
For the non-weasley descendant couples having so many twins, i took them one at a time.
I gave Scorpius a twin because I wanted him to be really close to his sibling, not to look down on a younger sister, or feel distanced or separated from an older one. I wanted them to enter Hogwarts together, and grow up very close, and grow up together, they can show the world together just how much the Malfoys have changed, and not separately. They should both face the challenges, and not one more than the other.
Well Lorcan and Lysander, they are already cannon, and I couldn't take them out. Pav. and Petronelle, I felt putting one, would make them seem lonely in comparison to how close I consider Lor. and Ly. And making them different ages made them less strong, I don't want them to be alone like Luna was during her first years at Hogwarts.
For Alice and Frank, I thought the name should go together. I thought it would be weird for Neville to name one child after his parents when he didn't know if he would have another child. And, I didn't just want to name the first two that, I thought though, if Neville found out that they would have twins, he would find the names suitable, they go so well together, and shouldn't be separate.
For Jason and Scott, that I admit was just kind of random, I think that are just left over as twins from when they had the names Dean and Seamus, but I decided against those names, but I guess left them twins.
In the end, I'm kind of an idealist, and whenever I thought that a child would be lonely, whether it was having no other girls their and, no children their age, or what, I gave them a twin.
But I like them where they are, I know you can't see it, but I have all of their personalities and stories written out, and a lot work very well as twins.
(Age 12 summer after 1st year)
George Wesley had used some of his considerable fortune to buy a very large piece of land in the country. It was huge, with lakes, streams, fields, and woods. George added many cabins and a small town, which was a really a collection of sweet shops and a WWW's store around a made a huge game room and a meeting hall.
He even made a special deal with the ministry to allow underage magic inside of the camp boundaries.
All summer long magical children from around the world attended Camp Weasley.
But during the beginning of August, George closed camp for two weeks. The camp was far from empty for that time, for it was then that all the Potter/Weasley children above the age of 6 came to spend a few weeks a Camp Weasley...
Their time was spent with typical camp activities, special tutoring from George, and more.
This year 17 Potter/Weasley children would be attending. This time, in addition to the normal activities, George was adding a little twist...
"I have decided," he announced as they all gathered in the meeting hall with their bags for the start of camp meeting. "That we should make this camp a little more interesting by adding some competition.
For now you will be in two teams. The competition will be a prank war. I will give and subtract points for pranks given and received by each team.
Every member of the winning team will receive a 50 Galleon prize that can be spent at the WWW's store.
This will not replace our normal activities, but merely add to it." He said this with a smile that had once made every Hogwarts teacher who saw it groan out loud.
"The teams are already chosen, as are their captains. Team Wackspurt's captain is our own Teddy Lupin. And team Nargle's captain is the lovely miss Victoire Weasley. Now come up front you two, I want everyone to know who you are." He ruffled Vic's hair and put Teddy into a friendly headlock.
"Joining Teddy on Team Wackspurt will be- Joel, Carter, Roxanne, Albus, Hugo, Louis, and Molly.
And on team Nargle will be- James, Fred, Iz, Rose, Joanne, Max, Dom., and Lily.
Now shake hands captains, and let the games begin!
You will bunk in your team sections, Wackspurt team in the North cabins, and Nargle in the South. Girls are in the right side cabins and boys the left.
Dismissed! Dinner is at 6!"
As everyone was leaving, George pulled Teddy aside.
"Hey Ted, I'm going to need your wand for the duration of camp. It wouldn't be fair."
A bit grudgingly, Teddy handed over the wand and left.
As they were walking to their separate sides of camp, both team captains' brains were whirling with ideas, it was going to be a great camp...
Well there you go, I know it isn't my best chapter, but I want to build on it. As always R&R!
