An Animal's Soul- Chapter Eleven
Rating: M
Pairing: Bella/Alice
A/N: I'm sorry for the slight delay in posting another chapter. I've, sadly, had a small writers block. I'm slowly working through it, but it might take a while. I'm trying to keep with my original standard of posting a chapter as I complete one. This chapter has a bit of sub-plots for my other pairings, and then the next three will be focuses solely on a single pairing. No worries, though, it will only be a few chapters, and then there'll be two simply dedicated to Bellice.
Don't own Twilight. Pointless to sue, don't got money.
Hope you Enjoy! ^^
Everyone was still in the living room when Dragon and Leah returned. Seth got to his feet the moment he saw his sister, walking cautiously closer. Everyone watched him, some finding it funny, while others weren't sure why he was doing that. Dragon smirked playfully at him, snapping her teeth once, before walking around him and over to his now empty seat. Seth stood frozen the moment he saw her snap, before looking at Leah helplessly.
Leah laughed, "Come on Seth. It's time to go home." She said, pointing over her shoulder and out the house. When he was at her side, she faced the group of people, "Thank you for watching him. Forgive me for seeming rude, but I need to get home before Sam convinces the Elders that we went rogue, or something." She turned to Dragon, "Can I see you again soon?"
Dragon nodded, "The day after tomorrow? Dinner?"
Leah grinned, "Sounds lovely." She said, turning and leaving the house. The moment the two were in the forest, they stripped and shifted; heading home.
Bella turned to Dragon, "Did you explain everything?"
"My past. I haven't told her what is needed to break the curse... I will probably tell her when I see her again." Dragon said, rubbing her forehead gently, "How do I tell her that I have to kill my own blood?" She muttered, looking completely sad. Before anyone could respond to her, she got to her feet and left the house.
"What does she mean?" Esme asked, looking to Bella.
"She is the last of her kind... To break the curse that was placed on her people, she has to kill her twin brother. She has never been able to... She can't bring herself to kill him. The 'prophecy' on the curse, says that her soul mate will be the cause of her brothers' death... That is why she has never wanted to imprint. She didn't want anyone to have that fate." Bella responded, getting to her feet, "Forgive me, but I need to go for a run as a wolf... I need to burn off this energy that's coursing through me." She said, heading towards the door as well. She felt Alice following her, and couldn't stop the smile that formed on her face. She would love to share the feeling of running with her mate.
Jade and Rayn left shortly after their Alpha, saying their goodbyes to the Cullens on their way out. When they got home, Rayn went to her room, finishing her homework before playing a game on their Xbox. Jade, on the other hand, got into the car she rented, and drove to Angela's. When she got there, she went and knocked on the door. The sound of small feet stomping on the ground could be heard inside the house.
"Boys! Don't answer that!" Angela's voice called out, "Get back in here and finish your homework."
"Yes Mother!" Two voices called back, grumbling.
The door opened a moment later, showing Angela on the other side; her face showing her shock.
"Jade?"
"Hey. Your mom home yet?" She asked, smiling happily at the sight of her imprint.
"Not for another hour. Why?" Angela asked, waving her friend into the house.
Jade grinned, "No reason..." She said, going into the living room, "Hey boys. Need any help?" She asked the twins, sitting on the couch behind them.
The twins, Isaac and Joshua, smiled up at her. As most twins, they had the same brown hair, but the way to tell them apart was their eyes. Isaac's were a very light baby blue, while Joshua's were a deep forest green. They had taken to Jade the moment they had met her. They liked the fact that Jade could get their sister to smile, genuinely smile, none of her other friends could do that.
"I'm working on math." Isaac said, waving to his paper, "I'm stuck on one of the problems."
"I'm on history," Joshua said next, "One of the questions they ask is confusing."
Angela stood off a ways, watching as her friend helped her brothers with their homework. On the few times that Ben had been over, he had never once offered, and seeing Jade do that, warmed her heart. Since she had first met the girl, she had felt a sort of pull to her, but she wasn't sure how she should describe it. Since then, she had been comparing Ben and Jade, and the green eyed girl was winning more and more points. And she didn't even know it.
Angela had been dating Ben for almost two years, and at first he was sweet and charming, but then he started to get more demanding. He always wanted her attention on him, he didn't ever help her with her brothers, never asked her what she thought of anything anymore. His affection had faded when they were alone, and it was to the point that they never went out anymore.
Jade, though, in the short time she had been here, had paid for her car to get fixed, and even re-painted. She had rented a car, so she could take Angela and her brothers to and from school while the car was getting worked on. She was helping her brothers with their homework. It felt like she always put Angela first; asking her how her day was, or how she was feeling. She never cut her off and talked about herself unless Angela asked her something. When she talked, Jade had her undivided attention.
"Children, I'm home." A voice called out.
Jade watched as a woman, who was an older version of Angela, walked into the room. Angela and her brothers gave the woman a hug, and chatted with her for a moment about work, before Angela turned to Jade and waved her over.
"Mom, this is Jade. The girl I told you about." She said, smiling, "Jade, this is my mother."
"Hello Mrs. Weber." Jade said, smiling as she held out her hand.
"Well aren't you polite." Ms. Weber said, taking the offered hand and shaking it gently, "Is the car outside yours?"
"No." Jade said, "I took Angela's car from her. A friend is fixing it for her, I rented that one so I could take her and the boys to and from school." she added, "And on that note, have you eaten yet?" She asked.
The Weber's looked at each other, shaking their heads in answer.
"Well then, the boys finished their homework, and I insist that you all join me for dinner in Port Angeles. What do you say?" She asked next, smiling at the family.
Angela turned to her mother, "It's up to you mom." She said, when her mother looked unsure, "Jade will be alright with it if you tell her no. Right De?"
Jade nodded, "I'm only being polite, Ma'am, and if you tell me no, then I'll ask if I can cook you dinner instead... If that's a no, then I will sit on the couch while you all eat, and be quiet. If you don't like tha-"
"Ok, ok, deep breaths." Ms. Weber said, waving slightly at the young woman standing in front of her, "That actually sounds lovely, where do you have in mind?"
Jade smiled, ushering the family out the door and into the rental car. Ms. Weber sat in the passenger seat, while Angela sat in the middle seat in the back so her brothers could look out the windows as they drove. Jade pulled into the parking lot of a small restaurant, and they were seated at a corner booth. The group spent some time looking through their menus and ordered when they were ready. While they waited, they talked, and Jade won some more points with her Imprints family, though she didn't really realize it. The conversation died down a little when their food came, and right before the Waitress came with the check, Jade's phone went off.
Stay for dessert... Alice's orders... -Bella
"So, who wants dessert?" Jade asked, smiling at the family.
When the Waitress was near them, they each picked something out and spent another thirty minutes in the restaurant. Ms. Weber tried to argue when Jade paid for everything, but she was politely ignored while Jade slipped her card to the woman as she passed their table. The street was dead when they got out, and Jade drove them home, not leaving until they were all safe in the house and she heard the door lock. Even then, she could hear the family talking about how nice she was and how Ms. Weber wouldn't mind her being over more often.
Rayn was sitting on the couch waiting for her when she got home a few minutes later. The Tiger told her that Alice's vision involved her getting stabbed while defending the Weber's and she shifted... Scaring them. Jade sent a thank you text to Bella for the little pixie, and received a 'welcome' before she shifted and headed to Angela's house again. This time, laying outside the brunette's window and watching over the girl while she slept. Though she had gotten there in time for Angela to see her and whisper good night before crawling into bed.

"One of those leeches stole Leah and Seth!" Sam roared as he stomped into the tribal council room. All of the Elders where there, and looked up in shock when they heard Sam barge in with Jacob and Paul right behind him.
"What do you mean?" Sue Clearwater said, getting to her feet, "What did they do to my children?!" She demanded.
"The leader of the four leeches that came into town... Claimed them. Supposedly one of them is Leah's mate... I call Bullshit!" Sam growled, angered that someone took his ex away from him.
"Don't lie!" Leah growled, storming into the room with her brother right behind her, "They didn't steel us. I Imprinted." She stated soundly, "And don't you dare leave out that they are only half vampire! My mate is a fucking Dragon! And I will harm anyone who claims her different." She snarled, baring her teeth at her ex.
The Elders all looked at her and Sam, trying to figure out who was telling the truth. The two wolves growled at each other, and when Sam raised his voice to use the alpha command, neither Leah or Seth bowed to him. This is what truly shocked the Elders, since only wolves born into Alpha lines could defy an alpha.
"I will leave La Push if I have to, but I am never bowing to you again Sam Uley." Leah growled, "I'm done being the 'bitchie ex who will never find happiness'."
Sam looked shocked, since he had never thought that when he was connected to the pack. He had learned to block some things from his pack mates, but he was still careful about what he said or tried to block.
"Oh, yes, I know what you thought when no one else was suppose to hear it. I'm not someone you can claim to care about, but not want me to be happy. How is that fair? You fucking Imprint, and break up with me. I find out the truth, and I'm somewhat ok with it. Even though it took me a while. I would never try and keep you from Emily... But when I finally find mine, my happiness. You want to try everything you can think of to keep me away from her! I will not have it!" Leah shouted, turning to the Elders, "I imprinted on a woman who is half Vampire and half Dragon. I will not give her up, and if you don't like it, I will leave La Push." She said, her tone returning to normal.
Seth stepped forward, "And I will leave with her. I feel no compulsion to submit to Sam anymore."
Billy Black looked at his fellow elders for a moment, before turning back to the wolves that stood before them, "Give us time to talk about this. Sam, take the pack to your house, and stay there. Leah, Seth, please head home, and stay there until we call you back."
Sam growled and stomped out of the room, Jake and Paul following behind him, Leah and her brother followed after them at a slower rate. They went home, and Seth spent the time they waited, telling Leah what he had learned from Bella and her pack. She was glad to know that she could now choose her Alpha, and that Sam had no control over her anymore. She was shocked to learn that this part of their gene came from their mother, and wanted to ask if her mom knew the whole time.
It was a few hours later, when their mother came to get them. The walk over to the council room was quiet, and Leah desperately wanted to ask questions, but she held her tongue. Sam and Jacob were already there, grinning smugly at Leah and Seth. Sue returned to her seat, while the Elders looked at the four wolves.
"We have come to the agreement that Leah and Seth can stay in La Push." Billy Black began, but before he could continue, Sam started talking.
"Good, that means you have to submit to me." He growled, his tone edging closer and closer to his alpha voice.
"Sam Uley, if you interrupt me again, you will be doing patrols on your own for a month. Understood?" Billy said, his voice a growl. Sam frowned at him, but kept himself silent, "You can stay. But we would like to meet your imprint... and her family. Do you think they would be willing to come to La Push?"
Leah nodded, "They were here before we knew. They go to Forks High School." She told them, "I'll ask, but I'm sure Alexis would gladly come over. And Bella wouldn't mind either."
Seth stepped forward, "Do we have to join Sam again?" He asked, his voice small.
Sue shook her head, "No, but you will have to ask this Bella person if you can join hers... two packs in one area is very dangerous."
"Mom..." Leah started, before she paused, "Is your ancestors from a different tribe?"
"Somewhere on my grandmothers' side. Why Leah?" Sue asked,
"Will you be there for the meeting with Alexis? Bella says that we are different than La Push wolves and that it comes from your side..."
The Elders looked confused, and Sue looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding. The meeting was concluded, and Sam stormed out of the room in anger, Jacob right behind him. Sue took her kids home, and they proceeded to talk about Alexis and Bella while they had dinner. Though most of it was Leah gushing about her Imprint, and the Castle that she had taken Leah to.

Bella howled as she ran through the forest, jumping over fallen logs, and dodging the trees. She could feel Alice behind her, running to keep pace with her. Her inner wolf was ecstatic that her mate was close by, having been in a deep depression since their link had broken the first time around. Bella had tried to not let it show to her pack, but she had always felt that depression at the edge of her mind, slowly creeping over her as time passed. But it wasn't until she had seen Alice again, that it had literally vanished; she just didn't realize it until she figured out that she had imprinted again.
"Bella?" Alice asked, as they both slowed to a stop, "Are you alright?"
Bella turned to face her vampire and nuzzled into her stomach, letting her wolf take over for a moment. She was relaxed, and wanted to share that feeling with Alice for a while. Alice stood watching her, and couldn't stop herself from running her fingers through Bella's fur, enjoying the silky feel of it. After a time, Bella moved back and shifted, pulling on her clothes.
"I'm fine Alice." She said, "But I do need to talk to you." She said, looking away shamefully.
"What about?" Alice asked,
"My real parents." Bella said softly, "That day I got a call at school? It was one of my informants, someone who watches what my parents are doing, and notifies me when it concerns me. There's not much I can truly explain, not yet, but I need you to know that I will have to leave soon, and when you find out why, you aren't going to like it. When I leave, I will have to block your power, because if I don't, you will be hurt, simply by seeing what will happen."
"Why?"
Bella looked away, "In short, my parents consider me an experiment, something they can toy with, and I'm trying to figure out how to stop them... But I need to continue to play their game until I have enough information to take them out."
Alice growled, "And you won't let me come with you?"
"No, I won't let anyone come with me." Bella whispered, looking at the ground, "The last time someone followed me, they got hurt, and I still feel the guilt over it... If something happened to you... If they harmed you, or even killed you. I would go insane, taking as many of them out as I can, before finally dying. I can't lose you like that Alice. If nothing ever came of this imprint, you just being alive would be enough for me... but if you died, I would lose everything that I am. The animal would be in control, and I would be gone. I can't risk that."
They stood in silence for a while, and eventually Alice sighed, "I don't like it. And you will have a lot of sucking up to do, when you get back." She finally said, reaching out and taking Bella's hand, "And you better come back, or I will chase you down and beat you senseless. Understood?"
Bella nodded, "Yes, Ma'am." She said, pulling Alice close and wrapping her arms around the short vampire, "Any other conditions?"
"Do you have a friend named Jennifer?"
"Yes, why?"
"When you leave, call her." Alice said, but didn't explain further.
Bella frowned but nodded her head. After a time of just standing together, Bella pulled back, "Can I take you out on a date?"
Bella was sure that the rest of the Cullens' could hear the squeal that Alice let out at that question. Maybe even her own pack mates.
~o0o~
"Alright, what was that?" Dragon asked, the moment Bella walked in the door, "I'm sure the human's heard that squeal."
"I asked Alice out on a date." Bella said, and wished she hadn't.
Rayn was out of her room in seconds, and pulled her Alpha into each of their rooms, looking through their clothes, and making Bella try on everything she thought looked good. Bella dealt with it all in good faith, but by the end of the night, she felt tired, and knew that she would be making a trip to the Mall with Rayn. The tiger had not liked any of the things she had tried on.
Dragon and Jade were laughing in the living room long after their leader went to bed.
A/N: Once again, I'm sorry for the lateness of this chapter.
Hope you EnJoyed! ^^
