A/N. Okie dokie! So, it's been like forever and a day since I last updated anything. Sorry for making you all wait so long for SOMETHING to finally get a new chapter, but the waits slowly coming to an end.

Episode 9: Mewtwo Strikes Back Pt. 3- Let the Battle Begin!
Ashe sat down next to the strange, pink haired human that Mewtwo had brought in from the mainland, lazily licking at a paw as she eyed the remaining humans within the overly spacious room. She recognized them all from the video feeds one of the fearow in her friend's servitude, taken from high above their rather oblivious heads and away from their general sight, but she only felt the disconcerting pang of familiarity and longing with one of them. The other human, who seemed unusually focused on her, brought about faint memories of the human that she once recognized as her master and the time spent battling under his orders. But the memories weren't bad though, and there was a different pang of familiarity as well, similar but not quite the same as the one brought upon by the red-eyed human.
It was strange for sure, but nothing she could not put aside for a later date, or simply just forget about. And besides, there were more important matters at the moment.
She may not have approved of Mewtwo's plans, but they were his schemes and he was her friend. However much she disagreed with him, he was stubborn and not easily swayed from his own ideas. The most she could do usually, was stand by and support him to the best of her own abilities. She wasn't even sure though, how well she could do that.
What Mewtwo was plotting, was grand and earth-shattering, and if any of the legendary pokémon she'd overheard tales of from the humans that had served her former master were true. None of them would sit idly by as the powerful psychic attempted to shatter the current balance so strictly maintained within their world. And there were so much room for error to occur as well. Her dear friend had never lost a battle before, and to her knowledge the fact had been established long before they had met within the confines of the lower levels filled to the brim with cages and trapped, tortured pokémon who no longer understood what it meant to be truly cared for and not simply treated as a tool. To not have ever lost in a battle bred ignorance in one's mind, and ignorance, regardless of the most carefully laid of plans or the most powerful of beings, could lead to even the greatest of downfalls. Mewtwo had not bothered to truly take into account just how much of a fight these humans would put up simply live, nor had he made room in his plans if the humans own pokémon turned out to be stronger than he had originally anticipated. He seemed so sure that his own creations, those strange, large creatures that still lay slumbering in the lower most level of the fortress Mewtwo had built, were undefeatable.
But nothing was perfect or without weakness.
'I hope you know what you're doing Mewtwo. One little mistake, and all your plans will go up in flames. Spectacularly at that.' She thought, bending down to give her paw one last lick before raising her head again, all the lights going out save for one single brilliant beam seeping from one of the numerous, maze-like floors above.
The human woman began to speak,
"You are about to meet my master," she began in that monotone, emotionless voice that honestly disturbed Ashe. She had grown used to it over the time the woman had been kept with them though, and while Mewtwo might not have approved, she'd stayed by the woman's side for a large amount of it as well. "The time has come for you to meet the world's most powerful pokémon trainer. Mewtwo."
The pink haired woman's voice echoed across the room, carrying in a way that wouldn't normally have been possibly with such a quiet tone, but Mewtwo's powers worked in strange and confusing ways sometimes, and the room burst into a cacophony of confused and rampant voices exclaiming in disbelief. There was a spike in the air, the familiar sting of sorts that came when her friend used even the smallest of his powers, and he floated down to the floor. It probably didn't help matters that the supposedly strongest pokémon trainer, was also the strongest pokémon ever created.
"What's going on here?!" One of the humans, a boy with a pidgeot, exclaimed. The bird pokémon looked particularly outraged, her feathers ruffling in a way that clearly showed she didn't appreciate the subtle, threatening aura Mewtwo was giving off. Several pokémon and one of the other humans, the only girl in the group of visitors, echoed the boy's question, but all fell silent when the possessed woman spoke again.
"That's right, the world's strongest pokémon master, is also the world's strongest pokémon." Ashe held her head a little higher than she had been; deciding that about now was as good a time as any to truly pay attention to the humans. They were starting to get very, very antsy.
"A pokémon can't be a pokémon master! No way!" The boy with the pidgeot cried out in denial, an arm swinging out wide as if to emphasize his point. The statement didn't agree well with Mewtwo though, and his voice echoed out over the woman's, resonating in a way that would've sent chills up any normal pokémon's spine probably. It gave away that the woman wasn't quite herself at the moment, but obviously that didn't much concern her friend any longer. The human had tried to go against him, and that was a crime as far as he was concerned.
"Silence human." Mewtwo, and due to his control over the woman, spoke. "I make the rules now."
The brown haired boy that reminded Ashe of several things whispered something under his breathe, and it was only thanks to her powerful hearing that she was able to catch it.
"Telepathy?"He asked, either to himself or to the red-eyed human standing in front of him. If she remembered correctly, they'd come in together, unlike the others who had all arrived separately, and it seemed as if they were rather close if not somewhat familiar with each other at least. She still couldn't shake the feeling that she'd seen the both of them before, not as they were now before, but maybe when they were younger?
She didn't have time to contemplate the matter further though, as Mewtwo ignored the other humans in favor of teaching the one that had spoken out against him a lesson of sorts. He lifted the human trainer up, the familiar glow of his psychic powers seen covering the boy's body as he sent him flying back into one of the pools, causing the pokémon there to scatter somewhat in surprise, save for the gyarados who cushioned what would've otherwise been a rather painful landing for him. The large pokémon growled warningly, obviously not too pleased with Mewtwo for attacking the trainer, even if he wasn't its own, and the boy slid down its side, favoring his left arm.
"Damn it! Go, Scyther!" the boy ordered, pointing at Mewtwo. The pokémon hissed, ready to pay the psychic back for trying to harm its human, and let loose what must've been an Air Slash or Razor Wind. Ashe got up, if only to move the woman out of the way as the attack sped by, completely missing the two of them now that they were no longer standing in front of her friend, and stopped just short of the powerful clone. She sat down again, knowing Mewtwo wouldn't need her for this at least, as she watched him send the attack back, knocking out the unfamiliar bug-type and sending it careening backwards to join its trainer in the pool. The trainer cried out in concern, immediately wading through the water to check on the unconscious insect, and sent Mewtwo a rather nasty glare as he returned it to its pokéball.
"That was easy…" Mewtwo mocked the pokémon's attempt, turning his attention onto the human he'd so reluctantly left in his friend's care. "I no longer have any need of you." He stated simply, his eyes flashing before the woman collapsed, body going as limp as a ragdoll. Ashe jumped back only a little, catching the woman's head on her back and gently lowering her to the ground before retreating as one of the other humans ran up to retrieve her.
"W-wha?" The woman asked, confused as she awoke from what had probably felt like a long slumber, if she even remember anything at all. "Where am I? Why am I here?" she continued, expression confused and eyes worried.
"To help me in my plans."
"What?" One of the other humans, the girl that had spoken up before, asked in surprise.
"I needed one with a vast knowledge of pokémon. And you, Nurse Joy, were that person. I abducted you for that very reason, and brought you here to this island in order to help me. It was… convenient to say the least…" Ashe frowned at Mewtwo's choice of words, but remained silent as he continued. "I thought…" He paused for a second, tilting his head in silent regard for his small audience. "Once upon a time, that is, to work alongside you humans. But I was disappointed." He admitted with all the care in his voice that was would fit in a dried up pea. He really did not care for them, but they were here and in his mind fortunate enough to be as such.
"Humans are like a poison, destroying whatever they please and enslaving others. They care not for others really." He paused, eyes scanning all of them before finally stating his final opinion, "Inferior."
"Lies!" Again, one of the more talkative of the assembled humans cried out, the brown haired child who'd been staring at Mewtwo in fear for some time now, seeming to have finally found the courage to speak out. Mewtwo didn't lash out this time though, instead simply snorting in dismissal before speaking.
"If you humans are left to rule the world, it will only lead to ruin in the end."
"So what? You want to rule the world by eliminating all of us and leaving only the pokémon?!"
"No," Mewtwo responded, his tone carrying a sort of finality to it that Ashe only ever heard when he was giving orders to some of the other creatures inhabiting the island. "This world is already too rotten. Ruled by humanity, and the pokémon of this world are weak, enslaved by the humans without so much as a fight. No, I will create a new world." A yellow, mouse-like pokémon with long ears and cherry red cheeks ran a little ahead of the humans, opening its mouth to object to Mewtwo's claims.
"PIKA PIKA!"
"What's that you say? That you've not been enslaved and that you are with your human by choice?" Mewtwo seemed to find that even more amusing than what the brown haired boy standing behind him had said before. "That is even worse." He flung the small electric-type back to be caught by its trainer, the red-eyed boy who was now shooting the psychic-type a rather nasty look for his treatment of the pokémon. "Only weak pokémon rely on humans."
The humans all stood up at this insult, three of them looking particularly rebellious at the claim that their pokémon were not strong. The look in their eyes border-lined on murderous, and only curbed slightly by the sheer fact that Mewtwo was a pokémon.
Finally, the red-eyed boy spoke up, fingering what Ashe remembered as a pokéball in his hand.
"You say our pokémon are weak for relying on us," the red-eyed boy began, eyes gleaming with a dulled fire and his voice scratchy still from obvious lack of use. It didn't dull the edge in his tone though, and instead made it seem as if what he had to say was all the more important by that sheer fact alone. "Let's see if what you say is true."
Mewtwo scoffed, head rolling slightly to the side before looking the trainer right in eye, not deterred in the least by the fire that blazed subtly there. "And what are you proposing?" Ashe leaped to stand by her friend, hackles raised and growling at the human as she watched him seemingly nonchalantly toss the pokéball in the air.
"Let's battle."
A/N. So what do you guys think? I know it's been a long time, so the writing style probably shifted into one of the others I occasionally use, but oh well. I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter though. And thanks so much for reading, please leave a review and tell me what you guys thought? Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
