Disclaimer: Okey! 10 years of Grey's well more like 8 years but 10 years nonetheless, and through out these years I have never interacted to any of the characters/actors so NO I don't own Grey's :'(

It was that time of the year again, when love is in the air. Until I was 26, I was one of those cheesy, single girls who dreamed of having the perfect boyfriend. In all fairness, I only dreamed of one guy; in my eyes, he was the perfect guy- charming and caring. The day he asked me to work on a holiday was the day I stopped imagining things, because that was the day my life changed. We have been in love ever since. At first I thought I was imagining things, but the more time we spent together and got to know each other, the more I knew he loved me as much as I loved him.
And now it's our 50th wedding anniversary, we planned to do it earlier than our exact date of our anniversary, well 5 months earlier. We thought it would be more romantic if we celebrate it on the day of our "first date" and also Valentine's Day. Years went by so fast that we didn't even know we were settling down, building a family and just enjoying life. Now I understand why people say, 'you're enjoying your life and you never stop to think how you ended up here.'
At the ripe old age of 79, I can say proudly that ' I, Meredith Shepherd, have lived a long and wonderful life!' As I look around, I can just see the joy to my family's face and I know I will treasure it forever. The sun just set after the small ceremony celebrating our 50th. Now we're inside our house having dinner, in the house Derek built for us in the middle of the land we both found breathtaking, surrounded by our family.
I snapped back from my thoughts when I felt a hand on my hand squeezing it, for a moment I looked at our wrinkled interlocked hands, and then I brought up my eyes to look at him. Beside me sat my husband of 50 years. We're both old but when I look at his eyes, all I could see was the man who changed my life decades ago, charming, good looking, extremely cheesy, and still is now. We looked at each other and smiled, we didn't have to talk all we have to do is give each other a look and we both knew whether we're happy or not. Right now I can see his eyes sparkling, this shows me, proof that he was happy. As if wanting me to feel his happiness, he leaned in and kissed me.
We broke apart after the 'awww' erupted in the background and we both laughed. "I love you," Derek said lovingly.
"I love you too and happy anniversary," I replied.
"You too honey, you too," he smiling and giving me another kiss, and then we both looked back to our family relishing all the memories.

"Derek?" No answer. "Derekkkk" I yelled louder from my bathroom. A few minutes later a sleepy Derek came stumbling in the bathroom.
"Wuh-what's happening?" rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Then he saw me sitting on the floor. "What's wrong, Mer? Are you okay? It's 2:30 am."
"Nothing's wrong... Well maybe it's wrong if you don't want it... But also I dunno what you will say because we haven't even discuss about this kind of stuff, so I have no idea how you will react and we've only been married for a year..but I..." I didn't get to finish my ramble because Derek crashed his lips to mine.
"Whatever it is Mer I'm here," he said reassuringly, and so I handed him the pregnancy test, all showing positive signs. At first he was just staring at it and I suddenly got nervous but then he looked up at me with tears in his eyes and he kissed and hugged me tightly, and then he pulled back.
"I love you! This is great Mer! How can I not want this, I know that we haven't talked about babies yet, but... this really is great news Mer! You make me so happy!" Then Derek hugged me again and I pulled away holding onto his shoulders.
"So you're not angry about this? Because we didn't plan it you know?" I asked.
"No I'm not angry Mer, how can I? When you just gave me a miracle" He gave me the McDreamy smile which made me smile as well.
"I love you too, you're the best husband" I said before he carried me back to our bed.

I smiled as I remembered that day. The very next day, Derek dragged me straight to an OB for a check up. He was one of those dads who were so over protective, it was sweet and annoying at the same time. Time went by fast and 9 months later we had Christopher Daniel Shepherd, as I look at him now he looks like an exact carbon copy of his father.
After Chris, another 2 years passed and I fell pregnant again this time it was a girl. Evangeline Rae Shepherd she has long curly dark curls a nose like mine and she got her father's smile which always get's her out of trouble, when I say always, I mean she always get's into trouble as well.

Derek got invited to attend the Golden Globes and being Derek himself he wanted to show me off, very pregnant, I'm already 8 months and I'm about to attend an awards night. I wasn't due for another month but earlier this morning I had back aches although it went away I ignored it, thinking it was too early. I got ready and put on a long gown red dress and matching with flat shoes seeing that I'm having a hard time walking properly with heels. My dress fits around my very pronounced belly, it's perfect. As I'm admiring my dress in the mirror, I see Derek wearing his very handsome tux leaning against the door with his arms folded smiling at me.
"What are you smiling at?" I asked with a hint of smirk as I glance at him through the mirror while I fixed my hair. Derek pushed off the door and walked towards me and wrapped his arms around my belly and resting his head just at the crook of my neck.
"I was just smiling at my very beautiful wife and thinking how lucky I got." He's still incredibly sweet and corny even after having Chris and I love him for that. I giggled at this and continued fixing my hair up while Derek stays at his position.
"Are you ready? Princess is not giving you any trouble?" He asked dropping a kiss on my neck before standing beside me and taking my hand. We found out the gender a week ago and Derek decided to call her 'Princess' at the moment.
"Ready! And no she's been behaving," I responded as he leaned in and kissed me softly. "Let's go then," he said as he smiled brightly at me.
An hour later, we managed to arrive to the theatre and everything was the same, paparazzi everywhere, a red carpet, poses for photographs. Becoming Derek Shepherd's meant that I have to get use to events/situations like this. We walked down the carpet stoping and smiling at the camera while Derek holds me tightly against him. We reached the end and looked for our seats and excused myself to go to the toilet. When I got to the toilets I suddenly felt a sharp pain down below my abdomen making me wince and gripped the side of the sink while other clutching my side. I immediately took my phone from my purse and hit speed dial, calling Derek. Minutes later he was beside me saying that he's called the ambulance. I didn't want to get out for the ambulance coz I knew cameras would be waiting outside. Surprise surprise, I was right. As soon as we got out, a bunch of cameras were already aimed at our faces, luckily guards were blocking some parts.
"Guys, I really need to take my wife to the hospital." As soon as Derek announced this to the paparazzi my water broke. "Just great!" I muttered. Leaning on Derek as he guides me to the ambulance feeling really embarrassed, I bet the next day there will be photos of us in magazines and news paper with my wet dress. Hours later, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She was small seeing that she was born a month early. The doctor said that she had to be put inside the incubator just to monitor her for this week because her lungs weren't developed properly yet. She reassured as that there is nothing to worry for it was normal for premature babies. "Hey," Derek said from behind me while I held my baby's hand inside her incubator. Derek stood in front of me holding a sleepy Christopher, it was late at night and Cristina dropped him off to see his new baby sister. "Hey," I responded. "Look Chris, this is your new sister," I told him as I touch his arms, he smiled.
"Why does she look like a doll? She looks like my classmate's doll." Derek and I laughed at this. "No mate he's not a doll," Derek answered him. "Is her name Evageline?" Cris asked again. Derek and I looked at each other. This time I answered him. "No sweetheart, why did you ask?" "My classmate's doll's name is Evangeline." He shrugged like it was nothing. I smiled at this and turned to Derek.
"What do you think?" I asked him. "Rae," Derek added. "Hmm?" I asked. "Evangeline Rae Shepherd" He said and smiling brightly. "I love it! It's perfect!" I smiled at him looking back at my beautiful Eva. Since my water broke in front of the media, I knew immediately that she would be a trouble maker. And boy was I right.

And finally the baby of the family, Philip James Shepherd, is still single, which is a worry because he is now forty; we had him six years after Eva. He doesn't want to settle down; his dad thinks that he hangs out way too much time with his uncle Mark and his son, Jacob. Every time we asked him, his answer would always be, "I still haven't found the love like my parents have". Philip is a mummy's boy, he had blonde spiked hair, blue eyes just like the rest of his siblings, he's got most of my features, he has a toned body, all that time spend in the gym with his best friend Jacob who is equally as his father– playboys . His father always talks to him about settling down and he would always say his line and add a "soon dad, very soon" and give us his signature boyish smirk.

Derek and I were about to take a plane to Seattle, his mum was insisting for us to be there before the baby comes out, she was blubbering about a baby shower. As good as it sounds, I'm not really thrilled about taking a plane and travel across the state, I mean I'm already eight months pregnant, I could go into labour any minute. If this baby is anything like Eva, I might have to give birth in the plane. 'No Meredith, don't think about that! Having your water break in front of everyone was humiliating enough, don't add more to it!' I told myself.
"Derek?" I called to him. "I still don't think this is a good idea," I said whining.
"I know Mer, but don't worry, look we'll be flying first class and Amy's got the kids so we don't have to stress out," he said before dropping a kiss on my forehead gently.
I'm just thankful that Amy - Derek's sister - flew out earlier with the kids even though I miss them so much, it feels nice to have the peace and quiet. We continued walking around the airport, every now and then Derek would get stopped for an autograph or a photo. We both hurried through the airport so we could wait at our designated area. Once it was our turn Derek helped me up and suddenly, I felt a pain on my side and I winced. Derek must've noticed my expression.
"Are you okay, Mer? Do you want me to call mum and say we're gonna be late?" He asked lovingly. I just shook my head no.
"No, must've been just those moments, I'm fine now all gone" I told him giving him a reassuring smile, and it was true the pain was gone.
We boarded the fight and got comfortable in our seats, I was sitting by the aisle seeing that I have a bladder that needs squeezing every now and then. We were about to take off and suddenly I could only see the roof of JFK airport, I was admiring the city of New York from the top. I sat comfortably always loving the first class seats, the chairs are always soft, comfy, wet... Wait! Wet? MY SEAT IS WET! Oh no! I reached in between my seat, and there I felt the wetness.
"I knew it! I shouldn't have jinxed it" I said unaware I was saying it out loud.
"Jinxed what Mer?" I looked at Derek with worried eyes. We're in the air and my water just broke, what am I supposed to say!
"What is it Mer? Is something wrong" He's starting to get worried as well, then he looked down and saw the water on the floor. "Uh-oh. Come on Mer, deep breaths, breathe with me," Derek instructed. "MISS! CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US? MY WIFE IS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH!" I heard gasps and people started turning our way. This is definitely more humiliating, this time I will be giving birth in front of everyone. I just lost my dignity. Correction, I lost it when my water broke before I gave birth to Eva.
Moments later, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy. He seemed to be having normal breath sounds. We couldn't be thankful enough that Dr. Philips was on board the plane with us, this is why we named our little baby boy Philip James Shepherd. Dr. Philips felt honoured that we named our child after him. As soon as Philip was wrapped around a small plane blanket, he was surrounded by stewardesses gushing how cute he was. From then on, he became the lady's man.

As I snap back into the present day, the house is chaos; kids running around everywhere, everyone talking having their own conversation. It is a big family, from Chris' family, he married Nadya who is a very sweet and very wise woman. They have 22 year old twins, John and Martin Shepherd. John is with his girlfriend Hannah, who is really smart and thinking of being a surgeon. Martin wants to focus on his studies, thinking that having a girlfriend might distract him.
Eva married her very first boyfriend, Jeremy Dawson; they have three kids. Their oldest is Samantha, she's now 19 and nearly off to college. Then there's 15 year old Leonard, he's such a charming young man. Both kids are still single. Last but not the least, they have Timothy Derek; he's now 9, he has grown so fast.
Philip is here as well and very surprisingly, he brought his current girlfriend who we have met earlier, and finally we think he's ready to settle down. Courtney, Philip's new and longest girlfriend keeps him in line, she's the boss in their relationship and I believe that is what Philip needs, he needs someone different and challenging. Cristina and Mark are here as well, along with their kid Jacob who is Philip's best friend and turned out to be like his father– a lady's man.
Everyone is here and that's all that makes me happy. Looking at everyone, I know I have come so far in life; things that I didn't think I will achieve, I achieved it and it's all thanks to my lovely husband. Without Derek, I never thought I will build a family and he was there to support me encourage me, and now I'm the happiest woman alive.
"Thank you," I told Derek squeezing his hand.
"No, thank YOU!" He said tilting his head to the side. "Without you I won't have any of this," he motioned his hand around. "For all I know, I could've ended up as a bachelor for the rest of my life! But you captured my heart." This made my heart flutter, I really love him.
"You too mister!" I said smiling. "I love you…"
"Always and Forever"
A/N: All done! What did you guys think? I won't be posting any fic at the moment, I won't be for a long time, but again I appreciated your reviews! Thank you!
