Once Maya got home she walked straight into her room and closed the door behind herself, she had so much to think of. No one would notice how upset she was because her mom wouldn't be home and her grandmother probably didn't even hear her come in. Maya always acknowledged Granny Hart when she came inside but today she was just to upset.

Sitting on her surprisingly girlish bed Maya pulled out a book, The Hunger games, opening up to chapter 10. She wasn't one to go to the cold pages of a book to drown her sorrows in often but it was becoming a habit as she became more comfortable with reading. She particularly liked The Hunger Games series due to the strong female lead.

Maya wasn't more then a page into the chapter when she heard something hit against her window. 'It's probably nothing' she decided as she kept reading, but then it happened again. Getting up Maya placed her book mark back inside of her book and set it down on her pillow. She swung her legs to the side before setting her feet on the cold floor and walking to the window pulling the pink curtains apart.

"Hi Maya…" Lucas said standing a few inches away from her. He looked depressed, like he was just roaming around thinking all day and procrastinating, which was exactly what he was doing.

"Lucas?" she asked arching her eye brows. "Look you don't owe me an explanation if that's what you're here for. I don't want to talk about it and if Riley doesn't want to be your friend on Monday then I'm not going to be your friend either. Got it?" she was so to the point that it sounded like she didn't care at all, but she did care when she saw how hurt he looked. "I'm sorry" she sighed. "Of course I want to be your friend."

With a look of relief Lucas smiled showing off each of his pearly white teeth. "Listen Maya, I have these feelings for you and I have for a long time." Before he could go on he was stopped.

"Save it Friar, I told you that you don't owe me an explanation. Let's just forget it and hit rewind, kayz?" she opened her eyes wide shaking her head a little with her statement waiting for a response.

"I want a chance to explain myself." Lucas shuffled a little "I don't want to hit rewind, I wanted to kiss you Maya."

"I guess… You can come in and explain yourself then." Maya said with a sigh.

"I shouldn't be in your room, that's inappropriate." Lucas didn't seem appalled or astound, he seemed rather nervous.

"As if it's not chilly enough with the window closed." Maya rolled her eyes. "If you don't come in I'm shutting it and you can text me." She said laying her hands on the window frame beginning to push it down.

"Wait!" Lucas said laying his hand under the window to keep her from closing it. "I'll come in" he said hoisting himself up with his arms.

"Good, good.." Maya mumbled going to her bed to sit down. "Close the window will' ya?" she asked him as she sat.

"Of course.." Lucas replied pushing it down. "Anyway, the thing is ive liked you for a while I just wasn't sure if I liked you or Riley more."

"That's stup-" Maya said beginning to speak before being cut off.

"I'm not done, I know I should let the lady talk first but please don't interrupt." He said taking a breath.

"Ok.." Maya mumbled.

"I liked you so much more! You made me laugh and you made me happy and I never felt like you only cared about me because I looked certain way, and don't deny it because I know you care about me." He paused "I never got to make up my mind because Riley marked me! She made me her property and because of that I could never get close to you.. I knew you would never hurt her and I never wanted to hurt her either."

"So what are you doing now?" Maya said, trying to look like she didn't care.

"Living for me, Riley will live with it, first loves don't always work out. Hel-heck it wasn't even love what we had, it was a scared to talk to you shy kind of crush. Maya just think about it?"

"I'll talk to you Monday.. Good bye Lucas."
