Prompt: Jackets

In which Kano forgot his jacket in the middle of winter.

A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait. Anyway, this is one of my gifts for Kikithedeceiver! I hope you all enjoy!

"I can't believe you didn't bring a jacket! That hoodie is barely enough in this weather!" It was late November, light snow falling on the ground. Kido had a gray, fluffy jacket on that was much too big for her, her hands stuffed in the pockets, her hair tucked in a scarf.

"I-I thought it was going t-to be enough!" Kano reasoned, his hands tucked in his hoodie's pockets, playing around with it. "I mean, it is o-only November." His skin color looked perfectly healthy, despite the cold temperature. He sounded as if his teeth were chattering, but he was smiling like nothing was wrong.

"It is only November! I can't believe you, it was your idea to take a walk." Kido grumbled, watching her feet as they walked. She heard the soft crunch of the snow beneath her feet each step. She knew Kano was cold, probably freezing. They have been walking for fifteen minutes – and if it weren't for his Eyes, she probably would have been able to see a blue tint on his skin.

While walking, Kano talked incessantly with an occasional sneeze, Kido came up with a really stupid (really, really, stupid) idea. She began to unbutton her coat, Kano still talking. She placed the gray jacket on the smaller boy, digging her hands in the pocket of her hoodie – which she also had on. "You need it more than me, my hood is thicker than yours anyway."

She didn't face Kano, instead looking away with pink dusted on her cheeks. The pair had stopped walking, Kido could hear the rustling of fabric. She put the hood on, rubbed her hands together trying to keep warm. She was standing there, waiting for something to happen.

It was quiet too long for Kido's liking. She turned to say something, but Kano then wrapped the extra-large jacket on both of them. He was smiling (the nerve of him) as he buttoned the first button. "Well, commander gets cold easily! So we should just share!"

Kido was instantly 500% warmer than she was earlier. She elbowed Kano, but didn't resist otherwise. They stood there for a while, as they really couldn't walk, enjoying the warmth that the coat and their body heat gave them.

Kido's eyes were dropping slowly, until two arms sneaked around her waist. Her eyes shot open, and hit Kano for good measures. "Kano!" It was just weird, he was shorter than her.

Kano was simply smiling, rubbing the hurt spot with his hand. "Hmm?"

"Don't do that!" Kido was now completely red in the face, her hair was all messed up.

"Okay, anything for commander. But really, we don't have much space in this coat, Kido." Kano gestured by trying to move his hands around the coat.

Kido said nothing, Kano took that as 'I don't really like it, but I don't really care and maybe I do like it'. He grinned, standing on his toes, let his lips touch her forehead.

He felt Kido tense up, she was red again. He was then back on his feet and kissed her nose. Kido was trying not to smile, she was biting the inside of her cheek – which he kissed next.

Kido was now smiling, something that Kano was not able to see often. "Aw! Kido is smiling!" Kido was looking away, but the smile didn't go away.

He smiled back, their foreheads touching. It was so nice to see Kido smile, Kano thought. His hands had snuck back to her waist – and this time she did not push him away.

It was much more warmer now, Kido was now hugging him back. Her hands resting by the back of his neck, her fingers tangling the blond strands of hair. (Even if it was weird because he was shorter than her.) She laughed and he laughed back.
