Helia sped down the street to his house with an unconscious Flora in the passenger seat with her soft caramel hair flowing across his legs. Her eyes were part way open that he could just see that they were slightly rolled back in her head which he assumed was not a good thing. The only good thing was that she was breathing. Helia reached his house and swung open the car door and hopped out of the car, not shutting the door behind him. He ran over to the passenger's side and flung the door and grabbed Flora and carried her up the driveway. He reached for his keys in his pocket trying his best not to drop Flora with only one had supporting her slender and delicate frame. He grabbed his house key and thrust it into the lock and snapped his wrist around to unlock it. Helia turned the doorknob and pushed the door open and ran inside and placed Flora into the bathtub. Helia quickly turned on some cold water and Flora jumped back to consciousness.
"Wh-wh-wh-where am I? Helia?" Flora asked faintly and with wide eyes from the shock of the cold water running down her back.
"Don't worry, you're at my house." Helia said calmly rubbing his hand on Flora's back to soothe her.
"Your house?!" Flora exclaimed as she started to climb out of the tub.
"Oh no you don't!" Helia grunted trying to pull Flora back into the tub, "You aren't going anywhere. I will shut off the water though." Helia turned off the cold water as Flora sat back down in the cold and damp tub.
"Why am I here and why am I bleeding?" Flora asked, obviously not remembering the whole magic show that she put on for the team.
"Because you showed some of the members down at the station your powers to prove that you, Sky, and I weren't crazy to Riven. Then you sprouted wings and your back started bleeding and a bright glow came from your body. But then you lost control of your powers and passed out. It completely drained your energy." Helia explained.
"Really? Why didn't you take me to the hospital?" Flora asked.
"Like they would believe in magic. Get real, Flora." Helia chuckled.
"Okay, one more question." Flora said.
"What is it?" Helia asked.
"Can I get out of this bathtub now?" Flora giggled.
"Oh yeah, sure thing." Helia replied standing up from his seated position on the floor. He grabbed Flora's hand to help her up but Flora slipped bring both Helia and Flora down into the tub with Flora on top of Helia. They stared into each other's eyes and Helia knew that this was his only time to do what he has wanted to do for years. He started to bend his head down but Flora quickly stood up and climbed out of the bathtub. Helia kissed the air sarcastically and then turned around to see Flora standing on the bathroom floor, shivering.
"Here, at least let me get you some warm clothes." Helia said as he climbed up as he got out of the tub. He started to walk to his room while Flora still stood standing in the same place in the bathroom from when she came out of the bathtub. "Are you coming?" Helia asked.
"Why don't you just bring the clothes to me and I can change in the bathroom." Flora suggested.
"Suit yourself." Helia said and walked down the hallway into his bedroom. Once inside. Helia opened the dresser to see an array of shorts and t-shirts. Helia looked down and sighed. "I really thought she liked me in the same way. I guess I was wrong." Helia sighed as he grabbed a yellow soccer shirt and black basketball shorts. He walked out of the bedroom and headed back to the bathroom, clothes in hand and a slight frown on his pale face.
"Thank you." Flora said softly as she took the clothes that Helia handed to her.
"Just get dressed and I'll take you home." Helia grumbled as he walked out of the bathroom and shut the door behind him. Helia waited outside of the door for Flora to get dressed and to come out of the bathroom so that he could take her back to her house. Suddenly, Helia heard the twist of the knob and stood up straight to see a timid Flora come out of the bathroom. "Lets go." Helia said as he grabbed his keys from his pocket and started to walk to the door with Flora following shortly behind him. Helia got in the car and Flora climbed quietly into the passenger seat. Helia buckled up, started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
The car ride was silent all the way there with Helia gritting his teeth and Flora looking down at her lap. They reached Flora's house and Helia pulled into the small driveway.
"Is there anything bothering you?" Flora asked.
"No." Helia mumbled.
"That's the biggest lie I've ever heard." Flora responded. "We have been working together for almost two years, I can tell when you are upset because it rarely happens. Your mood has been all over the place today. What happened?" Flora asked once again but this time with a little more fervor.
"Just drop it. I'll be fine." Helia gritted through his teeth as he gripped onto the steering wheel.
"Helia, you tell me right now!" Flora shouted.
"I love you, Flora!" Helia shouted which took Flora by surprise.
"I-I-I-I should go." Flora whispered as she reached for the handle.
"See, this is why I didn't want to tell you. I knew that you would do this because everytime that I seem to get close to you, you run or go back to looking at mold. Flora, you can't run forever."
"Why me?" Flora asked keeping her hand on the handle still staring out of the passenger window.
"What do you mean by that?" Helia asked
"Why do you apparently love me? My best friends are mold and algae. I go home to my cat and plants where I binge on pizza and down it down with wine. You could have anyone in the office, but yet you say you love me. I find that very hard to believe, and I have magical powers." Flora said.
"Flora, you are perfect. I love the you with the plants and cats and the weird obsession with mold. Under those glasses, I see those beautiful and enchanting green eyes. Flora, you just have to believe me." Helia smiled and cupped Flora's face with his hands. Flora looked up in Helia's cool blue eyes and knew that Helia was telling the truth.
"Helia, I love you too." Flora replied. Helia's smile grew and he leaned in and kissed Flora softly on her light pink lips.
Sorry about the delay in posting. Will try to post soon but finals are coming up and I will be busy but less than two weeks left of my Freshman year of college. Woo.
