While Hermione was inside the Infirmary, Severus had visited her every night. One night when he was ready to leave Hermione woke up and saw him. She asked him to stay and talk with her. He agreed and the two talk for a few hours. After their conversation their relationship was once again okay.
A week after her conversation with Severus, Hermione was released from the Hospital Wing. Sirius was acting like she was going to break.
''Sirius put me down now. I can walk.'' Hermione yelled at him
''I am not going to. What if you fall? Besides we are only few steps from your dorm.'' Sirius told Hermione and smiled sweetly.
''Sirius we are going to fall for sure if you try to climb the stairs.'' Hermione told him and hit the back of his neck.
''Oh… I forgot that. Stupid enchanted stairs.'' Sirius whispered the last part and put Hermione to the couch.
''Thank you Sirius!'' Hermione said and kissed his cheek. Sirius blushed and Marlene and Remus burst into laughter.
''Shut up.'' Sirius yelled at them. Suddenly the door to the Common Room opened and a fury Lily walked inside with a running James behind her. Lily looked at them with a disgusting look and went to her dorm. James went and sat beside Remus to the couch.
''What happened once again James?'' Remus asked him
''She called me an arrogant prick again.'' James explained to them
''We have talked about this James. You can't change her. You know that mate.'' Remus told to him and put a hand to his shoulder.
''I know Remus. Believe me I know. But I think I love her.'' James said and looked down. The minute James said that Hermione felt her heart break into million pieces. She looked at Marlene and met her eyes. She felt her eyes watering and knew that she was going to cry. She stood up from the couch and without a word she left. Marlene followed her soon after.
''What was that?'' Peter asked with a frown
''No idea Peter '' Sirius answered him and looked up to the girls dorms.
When Hermione and Marlene walked inside their dorm, Hermione fell to her bed and started to cry. Marlene sat beside her and stroked her hair.
''Hush Hermione, everything is going to be okay my sister.'' Marlene whispered to her. Hermione looked at her and sat up. She put her head to Marlene's shoulder and took deep breath to calm down. When Marlene felt that she had calm she asked her.
''Are you okay? Do you need something?'' Marlene moved to her bed took her favorite blanket and sat at Hermione's bed again.
Hermione gave her a small sad smile and answered ''I will be fine Marlene. And no, I don't want something.''
''I have an idea. Rosy'' Marlene said and called the elf.
With a 'pop' a small house elf appeared. ''What can Rosy do for you?''
''I would like two cups of hot chocolate and some biscuits.'' Marlene said and smiled.
''Right away miss.'' Rosy answered and disappeared again with a 'pop'. Few minutes later it came back with a tray full of what Marlene had asked. ''Can Rosy do something else for you miss?''
'No Rosy. Thank you so much!'' Hermione answered to Rosy and she disappeared.
A silence fell upon the two girls while they were drinking their chocolates.
Marlene broke the silence though. ''You really love him, don't you?''
''Yes Marlene, I really love him. I can't get him out of my mind, neither from my soul.'' Hermione answered her and looked outside from the window. Her eyes filled with tears once again.
''Hey, I am sorry. I never meant to hurt you.'' Marlene told Hermione.
''I know Marlene.'' Hermione answered to her friend and gave her a small smile.
''Hermione, I am sure that James doesn't love Lily. But because she all the time rejects him, he is running behind her like a puppy. I think that Lily is a pride game for James, which he wants to win. But he can't understand it yet.'' Marlene said and touched Hermione's cheek.
''I love you Marlene.'' Hermione said and gave her a small smile. ''I am very lucky to have you as a friend'' She added and looked at her friend
''Yes you are dear! I love you too Mia!'' Marlene said and the two girls shared a hug. That night they fell asleep together at Hermione's bed. They were always doing that when one of them weren't okay. They were doing it for comfort and strength.
