If you haven't noticed, I've added Dave a main character, because there'll be a sort of love triangle not really, between the three. You'll see in later chapters!
And finally! The chapter you've all been waiting for….
A Johnkat kiss
Read on!
John was feeling very nervous yet also strangely excited and happy, all at the same time. Currently, he and Karkat were walking down the pier, looking around for fun games to play. He had the stuffed crab in one hand, clutching it to his chest, and he was holding Karkat's hand with his other. Did this mean the troll liked him back?
"How about this one?" Karkat made eye contact with him, his gray skin a little flushed as well, but his expression neutral. He was pointing to a game where the two opponents threw water balloons at each other to score points.
"Looks fun!" A smile appeared on the ebony's face, and he nodded. Karkat led him over to the booth and paid the money for one game.
"Here you go." The lady gave each of them three water balloons each, having them stand on opposite sides of a tall barrier.
John threw the first one but it glanced off of Karkat's horns and burst behind him, spraying him with only a few drops of water. The troll responded by smacking John in the chest with one of his own. Surprisingly, it didn't burst, and John caught it, grinning.
"Now I have extra ammo!" He launched two consecutive balloons at Karkat, hitting him in the face with one. It exploded, drenching the troll in cold water. The other exploded at his feet, causing his ankles to become wet as well.
"Hehehe…hey!" John started to giggle and then yelped as a balloon caught his shoulder and burst, spraying his face and soaking his shirt.
When they had gotten towels and dried off as best as they could, it was pretty cold. Karkat wrapped his jacket around John's shoulders, not wanting the human to catch a cold. But John was in a good mood as he held Karkat's hand, laughing and pointing out booths they should try next time. When they were about to get in the car, John turned, suddenly nervous.
"That was fun, Karkat. Thanks." He leaned up to kiss the troll's cheek. Karkat made a split second decision and turned his head to the side so their lips met. John's eyes grew huge for a second, and his cheeks burned pink with an obvious blush, but he didn't pull away.
After a second, the kiss was broken off. John looked away nervously, fiddling his fingers and not making eye contact with the other. Karkat used two fingers to gently push up the boy's chin, smiling a bit.
"It's ok, John. You don't have to be embarrassed. I really like you." He loved that shy blush that spread across John's face. It was so cute.
"R-really? Cause I like you too but I wasn't sure if you liked me cause—" Karkat kissed him gently, pulling him close, and John let his eyes fall shut. The troll savored the feeling of the ebony's soft lips against his, and wanted this moment to last forever. Of course, they eventually had to get back in the car, but there was this happy glow to the human that Karkat noticed, that he was the cause of, and it made him feel…good.
When they got him, the two of them changed into dry clothes and curled up on the couch, watching TV before they decided to sleep. John rested his head on Karkat's shoulder hesitantly and then relaxed when the troll pulled him closer, snuggling up to his side.
Karkat lightly pet his hair, and before he knew it, the ebony was falling asleep, his head falling into the troll's lap. A quiet laugh, a rare sound from him, escaped his mouth, and he gentle sat John back up shaking his head.
"I still have to change your bandages. You can't sleep yet." He helped John up the stairs and watched as the human took off his shirt.
Yawning, John slid off the blue windbreaker and allowed Karkat to take off his old bandages and apply fresh ones. He then held out his arms for him, wanting to be carried. The troll rolled his eyes but a small smile graced his lips as he scooped up the thin teen and carried him to his room.
"Thanks Karkat. Good night." He snuggled underneath the comforters as Karkat left the room, uttering the same words as he closed the light and gentle shut the door.
What a cutie the blue-eyed boy was, he thought to himself as he walked down the hallway to his own bedroom door. He went in and sat on the edge of the bed, grinning to himself. He had kissed John. Finally, he had kissed John, and John had kissed him back.
Maybe they did have a chance after all.
Dave encounter next chapter, I promise! And if i make Karkat too OOC, sorry? He treats John much more fragile than he would in a regular fanfic just cause of his past, so...yeah...shove it :P
Review please. I wanna know how everyone reacted to this chapter!
