Here I come update city!
Slider had learned many things in his time with being with Matt. He learned humans bruise not dent. Bruises could be pink, red, blue, dark purple, pale green, yellow, or brown. And these weird discolorations lasted for around 2 weeks. There would be times when Matt would visit him and Slider would constantly find new ones.
"Where did that one come from?" Slider poked a tiny red bruise on the side of Matt's leg.
"I clipped a wall by accident." Matt shrugged, Slider looked at him in concern.
"Don't do that."
Slider also found Matt's smell were inconsistent. Humans could release strange body odors; that mostly would reek. Or to cover that biological smell to become more appealing to others; they would spray different Earth smell on their pulse points.
"Why do you smell like rosewood?" Slider leaned into Matt's neck taking in his overcoated scent.
"Do you like it?"Matt eagerly asks, his eyes sparkling.
"Its strong."Slider tried picking a kinder response than he used way too much of whatever it was.
"Oh."
"Uh is there a reason you did that?"
"Yea well Inez said it might impress you."
"Why would changing your scent impress me?"
"Nevermind, you wouldn't get it." Matt hurried ahead of him clearly embarrassed.
"Oops." Slider bit his lip hurrying after Matt to try to make him feel better.
Slider had to hurry up and learn all he could about his human companion. But he always seemed to be at a loss when learning more about humans. They could grow hair in random places, don't have anyway to replace parts, change colors depending on mood/health, having many conflicting value systems, and couldn't eat certain things. But worse of all the 90ish if they were lucky lifespan.
"You only live for maybe a century?"
"Yea, how long do you guys live for?"Matt looked at Slider, the young radster fell quiet.
"Uh, maybe a little longer than that."He lied weakly.
He remembered seeing Matt's face fall.
"Oh."
When he first heard that it was devastating to process and accept but Slider decided to make the most of it. He now had an excuse to thoroughly coddle and cosset Matt every time he was endangering his limited life span.
"No Matt, you can't eat 4 cyberdogs. You already had a full thing of cybercorn. You need to watch your sodium."
"Matt you need to wear sunscreen. You'll literally die from the sun."
"Matt, I think you should stop carrying so much weight, it'll strain you."
"Matt don't dye your hair. It'll fall out and you'll become depressed and die."
"Matt you have a sugar count. Put that cookie down."
So it went on and on. Slider making sure Matt knew he had to watch what he did to preserve himself. When one day Matt pulled him aside,
"Hey, make sure you fill your cybercoop tires. I don't want them to pop."
Slider blinks before blushing, "Yea okay."
The teen smiled at Slider and pulled him along. It was strange that a domed species like him would worry about a basically enduring being like himself. But Matt did. It made Slider buzz with love for the small human. When they got older Slider found that he was aging slower than Matt. They both reached the adult stage at around the same time but aging on Matt was much more evident. Slider found himself looking to be in his mid twenties while Matt looked to be in his thirties. Which as they were both in their 30s it made sense for one and not the other.
"Hello beautiful."Slider flirted seeing Matt look at himself in the mirror worryingly. Matt laughed,
"Ew who taught you that?"
"Jackie said these nicknames are very effective in flirting and confidence."
"Huh well Jackie may be right."
Slider extended his arms out and Matt allowed himself to be pulled into a strong grip.
"You're still stronger I see."Matt smiled, Slider smiled back, "Well I am built a little differently."
Matt looked at him a little wistfully. Slider studied him,
"What?""Do you ever think its weird that we ended up together?"
Slider looked at him slightly offended, Matt raises his hands in a surrender motion.
"Like a human and android falling in love?"
Slider thought on it, before shaking his head,
"No not really."
Matt looks at him, "So you weren't ever like there's a lot of nice androids around here why did I fall in love with a mess of a human?"
Slider nods no, "I thought you were my kind of mess."
"Really?"
"Yea."
Matt arms circled around Slider closing him in for a hug. Slider snuggles into the familiar constant warmth. There were so many things he loved about humans.
Slider learned one last thing about his human. Matt was hard to win over but with a little time and patience. He was able to win the steady and growing love of a human. And as Matt continued through his life cycles he continued to watch the love Matt had for Slider grow and grow.
It was the best century he ever had.
Slider's a cyborg when I'm a flying pig, fight me.
