Chapter 11: Searching Out of State

Previously

"This is the same void that we all end up in Grandpa appears in our dreams," She confirmed. "Why am I the only one here though?"

"Hello Samantha," A sinister voice said behind her.

Samantha turned around to see who the hell was there.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Samantha turned to see none other than Morgause standing in the void, looking just the same as she did two days ago.

"Morgause," Samantha acknowledged the dark witch's presence. "What are you doing in my dream; and why am I the only one here?"

"I wanted to talk to you only Samantha," Morgause declared. "It's not every day I get to talk to just the leader of Merlin's Elementals."

"Oh, well how lucky for me," Samantha said sarcastically.

"What is wrong Samantha; afraid I'm here to trick you?" Morgause asked.

"Yes I do," Samantha replied. "You might be a very powerful witch, but you're still our grandpa's greatest adversaries."

"I see you have great respect for your grandfather…even after he forced you to become an Elemental," Morgause stated.

"If you're trying to persuade me to seek revenge on my grandpa, it won't work," Samantha declared.

"Really, so even after all your grandfather did to you, you have no interest in seeking revenge?" Morgause asked.

"No, I don't, I'd never forgive him, but I don't have any plans whatsoever to get revenge," Samantha stated.

"Not even a little?" Morgause questioned.

"No interest whatsoever," Samantha replied.

"Very well, then," Morgause said. "Let's change the topic then, shall we?"

"Wait, you want to just move on to a whole new topic just like that?" Samantha questioned.

"Yes, as I told you before that I merely want to talk to you," Morgause stated. "Now what do you like to do Samantha?"

"You know that's a really creeper-like question," Samantha stated.

"Why is that?" Morgause asked. "I merely wish to know you better."

"Yeah, well I'm not going to start telling you about me just like that," Samantha declared.

"Ok, maybe I can guess then," Morgause stated. "Well, you don't strike me as the type who likes girly things such as clothes shopping and shoes."

"Not at all," Samantha declared. "If you want to talk about that stuff, Bethany's a few door downs."

"Oh yes, the lightning one, she's very interesting," Morgause stated. "Humor me here, what's one thing you enjoy Samantha?"

"Video games," Samantha replied.

"I thought so, what kind of video games?" Morgause questioned.

"Violent ones, where I can shoot things," Samantha declared.

"Yes, you do come off as liking violent things," Morgause stated.

"Yeah, listen Morgause, this is fun and all, but it's late and I need to be up soon," Samantha declared. "So I'd appreciate it if you just let me get some sleep."

"You do not wish to talk more?" Morgause questioned.

"No offense Morgause, but I just want to sleep right now," Samantha declared.

"Very well, then, I shall leave for now," Morgause stated. "Don't think that this is the last you will see of me Samantha. I will be back."

"Yeah, sure, goodnight," Samantha said walking away.

Samantha woke up in an instant to find herself back in her room, Claw lying on her bed. She looked at her digital clock to check the time, 2:30 a.m.

"I think I handled that pretty well for being on my own," She thought. "I better make sure Claw is with me so he goes into the dream world too. No way can I tell anybody about this dream though."

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The next day it was time for another shard of the energy sword to reveal itself, and Samantha and Jimmy were in charge of making breakfast today.

After breakfast everyone gathered in the living room and Samantha and Jimmy pulled out the tracking device. It began glowing red.

"It's corresponding to Samantha's element," Hermione confirmed.

"Yeah, and it's taking us to…Philadelphia," Jimmy stated.

"So we have to go out of state to find this piece?" Bethany complained.

"Come on Bethany, at least its only two hours away," Chelsea declared.

"Yeah, it's not like we're going all the way down to Florida," Amelia added.

"Why Philadelphia though?" Jimmy questioned. "What does it have to do with fire?"

"Well, it doesn't necessarily have to associate directly with actual fire," Samantha declared.

"She's right, heat is a part of fire, so it could be associated with heat," Amelia stated.

"How hot can it get in Philadelphia though?" Ron questioned.

"Well, today, it's approximately 90 degrees," Chelsea said checking her iPhone.

"That's pretty hot for June," Amelia declared.

"Alright, looks like we're all going to have to drive," Chelsea declared.

"Hey, you guys remember that time we went on that field trip to the aquarium and the bus driver ended up taking us over the bridge and into Philadelphia?" Samantha questioned.

"How can I forget, you all called me after the trip and just bitched and complained about it," Chelsea declared.

"Come on Chels, you know if that were you, you would have complained as well," Bethany declared.

"Alright, enough, let's all get going?"

"Wait, Jimmy, is there an exact address on that map?" Amelia questioned.

"520 Chestnut Street," Jimmy said reading the map.

"Alright guys, plug it into your GPSs," Samantha declared. "Chelsea can you lead the way?"

"Ok, I'm on it," Chelsea replied.

So they all headed out to the Elementals' cars.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The group had agreed to park all their cars in a parking garage on Chestnut Street. It might not have been New York City, but Philadelphia streets didn't necessarily have a lot street parking.

Thankfully 520 was not that far of a walk from where they were. When they arrived there though, they couldn't believe where they were.

"Independence Hall, the sword fragment is somewhere in Independence Hall?" Chelsea said in disbelief.

"At least it's crowded, that will make it harder for the assassin's to target us," Ginny stated.

"Ok, we need to find the shard," Samantha stated. "We need if we follow the tour group we can sneak into some of the rooms and search around."

"Alright, come on before the tour group is moving," Draco confirmed.

An hour later

"No luck, I can't sense it anywhere in this building," Amelia stated.

"Yeah, we couldn't say anything anywhere in this building," Fred declared.

"Wait a minute, maybe we should look at this from a logic standpoint for a minute," Hermione stated.

"Okay then," Bethany replied.

"The location of the sword has to do with heat," Percy said. "The locator led us to this location, so the shard might be…"

"In the place with the hottest temperature," Amelia finished.

"Where would the hottest location of the building be though?" George asked.

"…The Liberty bell," Chelsea declared.

"She's right," Samantha declared.

"It's located outside and it's made of copper, tin, lead, gold, and silver," Amelia declared. "When it absorbs the rays of the sun, there's no telling how hot it can be."

"Come on, we need to go check it," Jimmy stated.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

When the large group finally reached the bell the next tour group was just leaving the bell.

"Perfect, now we can search the bell," Jimmy thought.

"I can't see anything though," Bethany declared.

"Don't try to just see it, try to sense it," Chelsea replied.

"I sense it alright, it's there," Samantha declared.

"You guys I see it, it's right in the crack of the bell," Amelia declared.

"Alright, I'll grab it," Samantha stated.

She sped right over to the bell and reached her fingers into the crack of the bell.

"I got it," Samantha said pulling out the shard.

Then the Elementals were wrapped away.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The Elementals looked to see that they were in their armor in the void only it looked like they were standing on a stage and there were five microphones in front of them.

"Where are the others?" Bethany asked.

"They must have not been transported here with us," Chelsea replied.

"Welcome young ones," A loud invisible voice. "In the days of King Arthur it was custom for the nobles to express their merriment through music and song. If you can name the song I play for you and sing it without missing a note or a pitch, the shard shall be yours for the taking. Do you accept?"

"We do," Samantha replied.

"Very well, we shall start with the young man," The voice said. "Name this song."

The first few lyrics and the drum beat of the song came in.

"It's My Songs Know What You Did in The Dark (Light Em Up) by Fall Out Boy," Jimmy confirmed.

"You are correct now you must sing the song," the voice declared. "The music will start once you start singing."

"Alright, here it goes," Jimmy declared.

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

B-B-B-Be careful making wishes in the dark, dark

Can't be sure when they've hit their mark

And besides in the mean, mean time

I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart

I'm in the de-details with the devil

So now the world can never get me on my level

I just gotta get you off the cage

I'm a young lover's rage

Gonna need a spark to ignite

My songs know what you did in the dark

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

All the writers keep writing what they write

Somewhere another pretty vein just dies

I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see

That you're the antidote to everything except for me, me

A constellation of tears on your lashes

Burn everything you love, then burn the ashes

In the end everything collides

My childhood spat back out the monster that you see

My songs know what you did in the dark

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

My songs know what you did in the dark

(My songs know what you did in the dark)

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

So light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

Light 'em up, up, up

I'm on fire

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

In the dark, dark

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

"Well done, and now the young ladies shall be given the same song to sing together," The voice said

"Well, that's not fair," Jimmy thought.

"Name this song," the voice declared.

This song started out with lyrics but the girls didn't need to listen very long, but the girls new what it was.

"It's Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy by Tata Young," Samantha said pulling down here mask.

"Correct, now you four must sing it," the voice said. "The same rules that applied to the boy will apply to you four."

"Alright girls, this is how we're going to do it," Samantha declared. "We all sing the chorus; I'll take the first verse; Amelia you take the verse leading up to the chorus; Bethany you take the second verse; and Chelsea you take the bridge and the third verse."

"Got it," the other three girls replied.

All: I pick all my skirts to be a little too sexy

Just all like my thoughts, they always get a bit naughty

When I'm out with my girls, I always play a bit bitchy

Can't change the way I am, sexy, naughty, bitchy me

Samantha: I'm the kind of girl the girls don't like

I'm the kind of girl boys fantasize

I'm the kind that your momma and your daddy

Would afraid you to turn out to be like

I may seem unapproachable

But that is only for the boys who don't have

The right approach whose ride

Which makes a girl like me wanna hop in a roll

Amelia: People think it's intimidating

When a girl is cool with her sexuality

I'm a 180 to the stereotype girls

Like staying home and being innocent

All: I pick all my skirts to be a little too sexy

Just like all my thoughts, always get a bit naughty

When I'm out with my girls, I always play a bit bitchy

Can't change the way I am sexy, naughty, bitchy me

Bethany: My mouth never takes a holiday

I always shock with the things I say

I was always the kid in school

Who turned up to each class 'bout an hour late

And when it comes to the guys I'd lay

I'd always pick the ones who won't figure out that

I was clearly rebel to the idea of monogamy

Amelia: People think its intimidating

When a girl is cool with her sexuality

I'm a 180 to the stereotype girls

Like staying home and being innocent

All: I pick all my skirts to be a little too sexy

Just like all my thoughts, always get a bit naughty

When I'm out with my girls, I always play a bit bitchy

Can't change the way I am sexy, naughty, bitchy me

Chelsea: Sexy, sexy, sexy

Naughty, naughty, naughty

Bitchy, bitchy, bitchy me

Sexy, sexy, sexy

Naughty, naughty, naughty

Bitchy, bitchy, bitchy me

Amelia: People think it's intimidating

When a girl is cool with her sexuality

I'm a 180 to the stereotype girls

Like staying home and being innocent

All: I pick all my skirts to be a little too sexy

Just like all my thoughts, always get a bit naughty

When I'm out with my girls, I always play a bit bitchy

Can't change the way I am, sexy, naughty, bitchy me

Chelsea: I like all of my shorts to be a little too shorty

Unlike all of my guys I like them tall with money

I love all of my nights to end a little bit nasty

Can't change the way I am sexy, naughty, bitchy me

All: I pick my skirts to be sexy

Just like my thoughts a bit naughty

When I'm out with my girls bitchy

Can't change I am, sexy, naughty, bitchy me

"Well done ladies," the voice said. "You all performed well, the shard is yours for the keeping."

When the Elementals blinked they were standing in front of the Liberty bell again with the others surrounding them.

"Are you five all right?" Mr. Weasley questioned.

"Yes, but you won't believe what we had to do to get this," Chelsea stated.

"Was it super bad?" Fred questioned.

"You could say it was something we don't do a lot," Jimmy replied.

"You know, the funniest thing happened while you guys were in there," Draco stated.

"Really, what," Chelsea asked.

"We were sure we heard singing," Harry stated.

"Yeah, we couldn't figure out where it was coming from," Ginny stated.

The Elementals were silent for a long minute.

"Well, we are in a city," Amelia confirmed.

"Yeah, there are probably a lot of street musicians nearby," Chelsea stated.

"What do you mean by street musicians?" Snape questioned.

"People, play their instruments and sing on the street to entertain people and earn a little money," Bethany said.

"Yeah, there all over the place," Samantha added.

Everyone else just looked very confused.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hi, sorry I've been holding out on you guys. School is getting hectic, but Easter break starts Thursday. Sorry if any of those facts about the Liberty Bell are wrong, I did look up what it was made out of though. Big thanks to my coauthor DevilDragon8 for these awesome ideas. Pleeease, review, we appreciate input. See you in the next chapter.
