Last chapter - finally!
And since its the last. I'm writing it in third person.
Elektra sat up. 'What, really, you feel the same?' She asked Liam. He stayed lying down.
'Um...yeah. No. Meh. I dunno.' He said, burying his head in hands.
'Well make up your mind then!' She said, thumping him with a pillow. 'Are we breaking up or what?'
Liam sat up, hunching his knees to his chest.
'Break up? What, is Charlie not gay after all?'
He asked.
'Liam! Fine. If that's how you want it to be. I'm going downstairs.'. She headed towards the door. She opened it and stared at Liam.
'I thought you were at least gonna be a little senstitive.' She said, going outside, slamming the door behind her. Liam opened it and followed her to the landing.
'Sensitive?! You don't want me anymore so what's the point?' He shouted.
Elektra turned around.
'I never said that!'
'Well you said you wanted to break up with me!'
'I thought you wanted to!'
'I never! I just said how I felt.' Liam said, staring down at the floor. He then went downstairs and walked out of the front door, slamming it hard. Elektra sighed in regret and went back to her room.
'Here we go again.' Mike muttered to himself from the office.
Elektra wanted to kick herself. How could she be so stupid? How could she have thought Liam didn't like her anymore? Then, without a second thought, she grabbed her jacket, hurried down the stairs and ran outside too, slamming the door again.
Mike sighed in irritation. 'Could you all perform your little dramas whilst being watchful of the door?' He shouted out of the window.
Outside, Elektra searched the street, and when she couldn't find Liam, she ran all the way to the fifty seven bustop, where she knew he would be as that bus was the only one that took him home from Elm Tree. And she was right, Liam was there, but just about to board the bus.
'Liam!' She shouted, half panting as she went along. He turned his head in an instant.
'What?' He asked.
'I'm sorry. I'm sorry about what I said. I never meant it. I'm not sure what I meant.'
'I'm going home.' Liam said.
'One more chance. I said I'm sorry. ' Elektra pleaded
'OK, OK. Look, come round my place and we'll hang out for a bit, see how it goes.' Liam said, all calmed down.
'I can't.' Elektra said. She searched her pocket to find nothing but a couple of twenty pence coins.
'I'm skint.'
The bus driver sighed impatiently, and asked Liam if he was getting on or not. Liam refused and with that he drove off.
'Where do you wanna go then?' Liam asked, placing his hands in his pockets, in an attempt to appear nonchalant about the whole situation, though inside he felt more anxious than ever. What was going to happen to them now? Would they break up? He really did like her, and she was his first girlfriend. He knew Elektra had been out with several guys in the past, and he had developed a strong disliking of her latest ex, Charlie, which Elektra did resent.
They decided to go to the park, and there they sat on the bench, feeling strangley shy and awkward of eachother all of a sudden. Liam didn't mind the silence too much, as his mind wondered off, thinking about the past.
'Do you...remember when we first met?' He asked.
'Yeah. I pushed you off the pool table.' Said Elektra.
'No, not that. I meant, when we first got together.'
'Oh. Wow, one minute we were calling eachother names, the next we were snogging.'
'Yeah.' Liam remembered, smiling.
' Liam, I heard Lily talking the other day to Carmen, saying that we didn't belong together. That we were too different. Then she was talking about me as if she really hated me.'
'Just the effect I have babe,' Liam said. Elektra gave him a light slap on the arm. 'What? She has a crush on me, big deal. She's twelve years old for God's sake, you can't take her seriously.'
'But we ARE different!'
They talked and argued for a few minutes about their differences and similarities and then they talked about everything in general.
'We were such an unlikely couple.' Liam said.
'Were?'
'Are. At least I hope so. I've hardly spent proper time with you for ages. Is that what all this is?' Liam said, reaching out for Elektra's hand and clasping slightly.
'Yeah...probably,' Elektra clasped back.'Do you think we're gonna be an item forever?'
Liam shrugged.
'Don't know. Don't care much either.' He said.
'Its just the here and now right?'
'Yeah.'
'And is the here and now alright?'
'Yeah. Its alright.' Liam said, before giving Elektra a light kiss on the lips.
Hoped you liked it, and let me know if you think it's slightly rubbish - I do.
