A/N: Hello! This update took a little longer than I hoped. I was supposed to post yesterday, but ended up getting writers block toward the end of the chapter and needed to step away from it for the night. It's a little long, but I tried to write it so it wasn't too boring or drawn out.

Myka's family comes into this chapter and they are meeting HG for the first time which is always an interesting experience to write. It's a Thanksgiving chapter and I know it's not till next week, but I wanted to get this chapter in soon so here it is. Please enjoy! :) No Beta so all mistakes are my own... yikes!

Warning: Small amount of smut in the beginning because I can! And because they are Bering and Wells so... yeah. :x

It was the middle of the night and Myka was in the kitchen in a large t-shirt and shorts; hovering over a pile of cook books, gnawing on her bottom lip and twirling a lock of her hair between her fingertips. She took in every bit of information she could, memorizing every detail; ingredients, measurements, all of it. She was so engrosed in what she was doing that she didn't notice Helena come down the stairs, stand by the kitchen entrance and stare at her. As she memorized every detail of the books, Helena memorized every detail of her.

"Darling? What are you doing? It's two in the morning and I woke up to an empty bed which is not how I like waking up." Helena sauntered over, dressed similarly to Myka, her bare feet padding over the cold tile quickly as she settled against the counter by her girlfriends side. "Something's on your mind. I could tell at dinner... what is it?"

"I'm just um... going through these cook books. I wanted to ask you something kind of big and important." Myka turned away from the books and pulled herself up so she was sitting on the countertop. Helena joined her, moving close so their thighs were touching. She rested her hand on Myka's bare knee, drawing light circles with her fingertips. "I can't concentrate when you do that." Myka breathed out, her eyes closing.

"I know." Helena leaned over and kissed Myka's cheek. "I'm sorry." She wasn't really sorry but decided to let Myka have a break from her touch so she could ask her what she needed to ask.

"My parents called this morning." She looked at Helena and smiled. "They always come for a visit on Thanksgiving."

"Okay, so you need Christina and I to stay away for the holiday? So you and Cassie can have your visit."

"No. I told them that I'm in a relationship with someone, that I am in love. And that this someone has a daughter who I also love so much and who Cassie adores more than anything in this world. They want to meet you two, and I want them to meet you... but only if you want to because I would never force you and Christina to spend a weekend..." Helena cut Myka off as she pressed their lips together. She jumped off the counter and stood in front of Myka, wedging herself between her legs.

"I would love to meet your parents darling. Christina would love to meet them as well I'm sure." Helena tip toed and kissed Myka again, her hands resting on either thigh and creeping up slowly. She smiled into the kiss, feeling Myka's heart beating against her own chest as she pressed their bodies together. "Shall we go back to bed love?"

Myka nodded and let her girlfriend lower her off the counter and pull her back up the stairs.

...

"Mummy!" "Mom!"

Helena and Myka woke to the sounds of their daughter's feet running toward the bedroom and their little voices carrying through the hall.

"Helena please tell me we locked the door." Myka said, sitting up and clutching the blanket to her naked chest, looking around the room for her t-shirt. Helena was still half asleep, rolling over and shoving her face in her pillow. "Thank god." Myka whispered as the door knob rattled but didn't twist. "I love you so much right now."

"Why is the door locked!?" Myka chuckled as she heard Christina's confusion through the door. She listened and heard Sophie shush the girls and lead them down stairs.

Myka settled back down next to Helena, slowly pulling the blanket down the Brit's back as she let her finger tips trickle down her spine slowly, mesmerized by the path of little bumps that formed. "That tickles." Helena mumbled against her pillow.

"I know it does." Myka smirked and kept going. "I love you." Myka kissed Helena's shoulder then the back of her neck, pressing herself against the warm body beside her. She nuzzled her nose against Helena's cheek, kissing her jaw which was the only part of her face not blocked by the pillow.

"You spoil me." Helena rolled onto her side, facing away from Myka and teasing her by hiding her face, and blocking her kisses. She sighed as she felt Myka's hand travel down her side, caressing her breast lightly before dancing over her ribs and across her stomach. Myka felt Helena's legs part slightly as her hand moved lower and laughed as she brought her hand up over the curve of Helena's hip. "Myka..."

"I'm sorry... did you need something?" Myka asked as she nipped at the soft flesh of Helena's ear lobe. She knew what Helena expected, so she didn't move her hand to the front of her body, instead she continued down the slope of Helena's firm bottom and sliped her hand behind her and between her thighs; entering her boldly and kissing her way across her shoulders and neck. She bit and sucked, desperate to leave a mark as her fingers worked like magic.

"Myka!" Helena's fists clenched the pillow tightly as she rocked back against Myka's hand. Helena's legs curled up into her chest, giving Myka easier access. She breathed raggedly into the matress as her muscles tightened around long fingers. Myka pumped in and out faster, lavishing Helena's neck with wet kisses. Before either woman knew it, Helena came undone, coating Myka's fingers with her very essence. Myka smiled against Helena's back feeling her shiver as she pulled her fingers free.

Helena rolled over to face Myka who had already cleaned off her fingers. She quickly kissed her before the taste was lost and moaned as her hands tangled themselves instinctually into Myka's loose curls. "Your turn."

Myka sat up and got out of bed letting the blanket fall away from her body. She took in the hunger from Helena's eyes and backed away toward the bathroom. "Shower with me?"

"It will be your pleasure." Helena husked, winking as she slowly got out of bed and followed Myka.

"I hope so."

...

Steam rushed from the bathroom as Helena and Myka made their way through, wrapped in towels and getting their clothes to change.

"Mom!" Cassie knocked on the door.

"I'll be out in a minute sweetie, I'm changing." Myka shouted through the door as she watched Helena get dressed.

"Telephone! It's grandma!"

"Crap, I left my phone out there." Myka turned to Helena and shrugged her shoulders, cracking the door open to take the phone from Cassie. She stuck her head into the hall and kissed Cassie's curls. "Be down in a minute okay baby?" Cassie smiled and skipped back to the living room. Myka closed the door and leaned back against it. "Hey mom."

Myka listened to her mother go on about how excited she and her father were and that they would be arriving the next day. She also mentioned that Tracy and the kids needed a place to spend Thanksgiving so she would be joining them.

"Mom! I don't have enough room for everyone at my place. Did she book a hotel?" Myka turned away from Helena, facing the door and whispering into the phone. "When is she getting here?"

Helena walked over to Myka and put her chin on her shoulder, looking at Myka suggestively. Myka told her mom to hold on a second and put the phone against her chest.

"Darling why don't they all stay here? I have spare bedrooms that are already set up for guests so your parents could have one and the mystery guest...?"

"My sister Tracy and her two kids."

"They can have the other room. It'll be fine."

"I couldn't ask you to do that Helena. This is your home and..."

"You and Cassie practically live here now, you've been staying here every night this month, and I mean half your things are here and all of her toys are up in Christina's room. It's just a long weekend right?" Myka smiled and quickly kissed Helena before putting the phone back to her ear.

"Mom H.G. said you guys could all stay here. There's enough space so if you're comfortable with it... Great! See you guys then, I'll text you the adress. Love you too." Myka hung up the phone and slumped forward hitting her forehead against the door. "Ow..."

"Darling, it'll be fine." Helena came up behind Myka and wrapped her arms around her, kissing her shoulder reassuringly. "Do your parents know that I'm a woman?"

"Um... no. They don't." Myka turned around as Helena loosened her hold and pulled the Brit closer. "When they meet you and Christina, it won't matter." Helena hummed softly and kissed Myka.

"You better get dressed. We need to go shopping for the biggest turkey we can find. I will meet you downstairs and I'll write up a shopping list."

"Okay." Myka nodded, letting Helena pass by as she went to the dresser for her clothes.

...

When Myka and Helena got back from the store, Christina, Cassie and Sophie were decorating the house. They set everything down on the counter and unpacked as they listened to Cassie tell Christina about her grandparents, aunt Tracy and her cousins.

"They all sound so wonderful." Helena said quietly as she handed Myka another bag of sweet potatos.

"They've come a long way, that's for sure."

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't have the best relationship with my dad growing up and my sister and I were never particularly close."

"And your mum?"

"She did what my dad wanted. I didn't want to upset her so I tried not to upset him. It wasn't great, but after Cassie was born... I think in their eyes, she's the one good thing I ever did with my life." Myka wiped away a tear. "I think they're right."

"Myka don't say that. She is and will always be the best thing you've ever done in your life, but not the only thing. You have accomplished so much and you're such a wonderful, beautiful, stunningly kind human being." Helena kissed Myka's hands. "If they can't see that, then it's their loss."

"You're too good to me."

"I only give you everything you deserve love." The Brit winked and went back to unpacking the food.

When they were done, Helena went to the living room and joined the girls as Myka insisted on having the kitchen to herself so she could start prepping the food. She had never cooked Thanksgiving dinner before and she was so nervous. "Sophie?" She softly called as she saw the woman walking through the kitchen. "Would you mind helping me? If you have time that is."

"Of course Miss Bering. I would love to help you."

"Thank you so much. I've never done this before and I want it to be just right. This is probably the most important meal of my life."

"I understand." As Sophie helped guide Myka through the basics of cooking a traditional Thanksgiving feast, they talked a lot about themselves and also about Helena.

"How long have you been with her?"

"Since she was a young girl. I was very young myself. Her parents chose me out of a group of girls from an orphanage. I took care of her while her parents traveled and worked. She was a handful, extremely stubborn; but she was always so respectful and sweet."

"She's lucky to have you Sophie."

"Miss, she is lucky to have you. You changed everything for her, taught her to love and trust again. It is truly a wonderful gift you have given her."

"I can't begin to tell you that she has given me so much more." Myka started to tear up as she pulled out a chopping board.

The conversation eventually died out as they focused on the food. Somewhere along the way, Myka had gone to preparing the Thanksgiving meal on her own while Sophie started on their dinner for that evening. Helena walked in to find them both laughing and moving around each other effortlessly, doing their own things.

"You two almost done in here?" She leaned against the wooden frame with her arms crossed loosely and a soft smile on her face.

"Yup! I just have to put these in trays and stick them in the fridge. Then I'm all yours." Myka smiled back and hurried to get everything put away.

"Wonderful!"

...

That evening they all ate dinner and watched a few movies together before Myka and Helena ushered the girls upstairs to bed. After getting them to sleep, they went to their bedroom.

"I'm actually really excited for my family to meet you. Nervous, but excited." Myka tugged on Helena's arm until the Brit was nestled comfortably into her side. Their legs tangled together as though it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Me too. I hope they like me." Helena whispered into Myka's shoulder.

"They'll love you." Myka turned her head and met Helena's lips with her own. It was a soft kiss, filled with promise, nerves, excitement and so much love.

...

"Wake up! They're coming today!" Cassie and Christina jumped up and down on the end of the bed. They both chanted for the two women to wake up, watching as they both groaned and hid under the blankets. "Come on! Wake up!"

Two pillows flew in the girls direction before they could react and both of them plopped down on their behinds not so gracefully as Myka and Helena laughed loudly.

"So not okay mum!"

"You two rascals wanted to wake us up and that is what you get." Helena stuck her tongue out and the girls copied her. "Now scoot so we can wake up properly." Cassie and Christina jumped off the bed and ran down the stairs.

"They are the cutest alarm clocks ever." Myka mumbled as she pulled Helena close.

"Well maybe we should patent them. We could make a fortune."

"We can work on that after my parents and sisters' visit is over okay?"

...

The day seemed to fly by and drag on all at the same time. Myka felt like she was waiting forever, but also like nothing had really gotten done. She was happy to at least have gotten the turkey in the oven but she heard the rental car outside and left the dinner with Helena while she went to help them.

"Mom! Dad! Tracy!" Myka and Cassie ran out of the house to greet her parents when they pulled up.

"Sweetie!" Jeanie Bering met her daughter and granddaughter half way, pulling them into a tight hug. "This house is beautiful! What does this special someone do?"

"She's an inventor grandma and she's amazing!" Cassie pulled a stunned Jeanie along.

"Myka?" Jeanie looked at her daughter as Myka looked back at her dad and sister, both of them wide eyed and slack jawed.

"We can talk inside guys. She's waiting to meet all of you." Myka grabbed two bags from the trunk and practically sprinted for the door. She opened it and waited for her family to get in, hoping her family wouldn't go all conservative on her now. "Helena?" Myka called out, setting the luggage by the coat rack and looking back at her family who were still completely speechless. "She was checking on the turkey for me."

"Christina!" Cassie shouted up the stairs waiting for her friend to run down with the toys they made for her cousins, Travis and Kyle.

"Christina and Cassie made the boys gifts because there are a lot of girl toys here and they just wanted to do something special." Myka spoke to Tracy who just nodded and smiled. "This isn't awkward." She whispered. "Come on guys, let's go to the living room."

"Sorry that took so long love. The temperature was a little off and..." Helena trailed off when five new pairs of eyes were set on her. Myka immediately went up to her girlfriend and took her hands, whispering that it would be okay.

"Mom, dad, Tracy, this is Helena."

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." Helena walked to Warren and stretched out her hand. He paused a moment but complied with the action and shook her hand firmly.

"It is our pleasure Helena."

The rest of the greetings weren't as awkward as that one, but the air was still a little tense.

"I found them!" Christina came running down the stairs, straight into the living room bumping right into Warren and falling back. "Sorry!"

"It's okay." Warren kneeled down and helped the little girl up. "You must be Christina. I'm Warren, Myka's father." Christina jumped up and hugged him tight.

"Cassie says you're the best grandpa ever! I don't have a grandpa anymore."

Warren didn't know what to say so he just gave her another hug before standing up. He looked over at Myka who mouthed 'thank you' and they all sat down together; Myka and Helena sat side by side, Helena's hand immediately finding comfort hooking itself around Myka's knee. The Bering's noticed and stared.

"So Helena you're an inventor?" Jeanie wanted to break the silence and learn more of the person Myka had fallen in love with.

"I'm an engineer actually, but I do dabble in inventing as well as art and writing." Helena looked over at the kids who were playing in the corner. The boys appeared to really enjoy the toys that they had put together and the girls looked like they were having fun. At least that was one thing Helena didn't have to worry about.

"So how did you and our daughter meet?"

"Well, Mrs. Bering our daughters got called into the office because the teachers thought they had been fighting, but we found out that they had actually just been playing. It was a complete misunderstanding but it worked out for the best."

"And you started dating right away?"

"Mom..."

"It's okay love. It took a little while for anything to actually happen, but the connection was instant." Helena looked longingly at Myka. "It was for me anyway."

"Me too." Myka was about to kiss Helena but her sister clearing her throat pulled her away.

"Helena, I'm curious; why did you pick my sister? I mean I know she's obviously beautiful and smart, but why was it instant?" Tracy leaned in close, interested in the woman's response.

"Sometimes things just happen. You can't always understand why, how or what you did to deserve them, you just wake up one morning in the arms of someone you love with your children near by and you realize that life has given you a very precious gift. I am not about to question it. I will just continue to be grateful for as long as Myka will have me." Helena and Myka gazed into each others eyes, hands holding onto each other as though the very act of hand holding anchored them to this world and to each other.

"I like you." Tracy interrupted the intimate moment between her sister and her girlfriend. "She's a keeper Myka."

"I agree." Jeanie looked at Warren and elbowed him in his side.

"Oh. Yes, this has been unexpected, but I'm happy that Myka is happy. And my granddaughter seems to really love you and your daughter."

"Thank you guys." Myka went to each of her family members and hugged them tight.

Dinner went better than Myka had expected. The turkey was a hit, the kids enjoyed each others company, everyone really loved Helena and Christina so much. Myka couldn't have asked for a better Thanksgiving. Desert came around and Jeanie suggested that they each say what they are most thankful for.

"Well, I'm thankful for my boys and even though their dad couldn't be here, I'm thankful that he was able to call us before dinner and wish us a happy Thanksgiving. I'm also thankful for all of you because this has been a great night. Mom?"

"Thank you for starting Tracy. I am thankful for my girls and my husband and I am thankful for my beautiful grandchildren, their health and happiness. I am also so grateful that my daughter found someone who really does love her and I am thankful that HG has let us into her home and her life and I hope she'll be around for a long time." Jeanie looked at Myka, glaring playfully and Myka just shook her head.

"Mom... that's embarrassing."

"I think it's sweet." Helena caressed Myka's thigh under the table and kissed her cheek.

"Warren it's your turn." Jeanie had to elbow Warren a few times that evening, not because he was being rude; he just wasn't the social butterfly that his wife and daughter Tracy was.

"I'm thankful for my family, for their health and happiness." He grunted when Jeanie elbowed him again. He cleared his throat. "I know I haven't said it much before, but I am thankful that I have two beautiful, healthy and intelligent daughters. Credit is due to the wonderful woman next to me." He held Jeanies hand. "Without her, I'm sure I would have messed everything up. She was always there to clean up the mess I made with you two and I don't know how you all put up with me for so long."

"Daddy..." Myka and Tracy both got up and walked over to him, hugging him tight between them. "You're a great dad. It wasn't always easy, but you were always there for us when we needed you most. Like today, with all of this. You don't know how much it means to me that you're here."

"Okay HG, it's your turn." Tracy said as she and Myka sat back down.

"I don't know how I'll top that, but I will try my best." Everyone laughed a little and Myka smiled, grateful for Helena's ability to lighten the mood. "I am obviously extremely grateful for the existence of my wonderful and beautiful daughter Christina." Everyone looked over to where the four children were playing. Christina was helping Travis who was the youngest, figure out the building blocks set. "When I had Christina I didn't know that I wanted to be a mother, or what kind of mother I would end up being and it scared me so much. I wouldn't have been able to raise her on my own, and I didn't have to. You didn't get to meet Sophie yet, but she is a dear friend of mine, who I am so grateful to have in my life." Helena looked at Myka, her eyes wet with the promise of tears. "I am thankful for Myka and Cassie. Myka taught me so much these past few months. I could never thank her enough for being in my life and Christina's. We love her very much and I will always be thankful and I only hope I can give her everything she deserves."

Myka could feel the hot tears sliding down her cheeks. Helena cupped her face and wiped the tears away, pulling her close and kissing her. At that point, Myka didn't care that her family was sitting right there, she just wanted to show Helena how much she loved her.

Helena turned back to the faces sitting across from them and wiped her own tears away. "I am thankful for you, Mr. and Mrs. Bering. You put this wonderful, beautiful person in this world. Without you, she wouldn't be here and she wouldn't be the phoenomenal woman she is. Thank you."

"Wow." Tracy didn't even care that she was crying, she just let the tears fall. "That was so beautiful. Myka you have to marry her."

"Oh my god Trace, you didn't just say that."

"I'm kidding, but seriously..." She looked at Myka, eyebrows raised and lifted her left hand, pointing at her ring finger. "Put a ring on it. Ow!" She flinched as Myka's foot made contact with her shin. "Now you Mykes."

"Um... like everyone else, I am thankful for my family. You guys mean the world to me and without you I don't know where I would be. I am thankful for Cassie and her existence. I am so grateful that she is here with me, and every day that I can see her smile and hear her laugh and feel her heartbeating when I hold her close; I am so so thankful for. Helena; my heart used to be so damaged and I was only half a person floating around without an anchor. You and Christina came into my life and changed everything. You fixed the broken pieces and made me whole. When I'm not with you I feel like something is missing, when we're together I feel complete, and so I am thankful for every second I have with you, thankful that you're sharing your life with me and so thankful that you let me into Christina's life because I love you and I love her like family."

"Those are your vows. You may now kiss the bride... ow!" Tracy reached under the table and rubbed her shin.

...

"Can I clarify something darling?" Helena was snuggled tightly into Myka's side, her arm draped over the taller woman's torso. All the lights were out in the house as everyone went to sleep, save for the night light in the kids room and the soft glow of the digital clocks by the beds.

"Okay..." Myka turned her head to look at Helena, she stared into those dark brown pools of endless wonder.

"While your parents, sister and nephews are here... no sex?"

"Helena!" Myka swatted her girlfriends arm softly.

"What? I'm just curious, because after all that was said at dinner... I can't stop thinking of showing you over and over again how much I love you." The Brit kissed Myka's shoulder, her hand sliding up to brush the underside of Myka's breast.

"You're evil Helena. No sex while my parents and sister are here. Maybe we can figure something out tomorrow, but until then we need to go to sleep. We have guests to entertain this weekend and after they are gone I will be all yours and you can do whatever you want to me."

Helena huffed and relaxed against Myka. "I should look into sound proofing this room."

"That's a great idea and I'm sure you already have the plans drawn up."

"I've had them ready to go for weeks now."

"I love you."

"My darling Myka. I love you and I always will."

It was amazing to Myka how Helena made her feel so comfortable and happy. She cherished these moments together; where she could just breathe Helena in and feel the steady rhythm of their hearts beating together. Myka knew the moment that she met Helena, that she would do anything to keep her in her life. She would always fight for her, because this feeling and this amazing love was worth fighting for.

That's the end of this chapter. :) Hope you enjoyed it. I hope it wasn't too long. I wanted to get a lot in there, but I didn't want it to drag on and on so I actually cut a lot of the Bering family time out and I wanted to make Tracy kind of silly and sort of make it obvious that she's still the little sister that annoys Myka sometimes. I wanted the family to be different than most people write them and I hope I accomplished that.

Anyway, please feel free to review and comment on this chapter. There will be more, hopefully coming soon. Thank you for reading this and although it is early, Happy Thanksgiving! If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving... Happy Normal day of the year!
