Chapter Eleven

Jace-

Jace sat in the car he had stolen, waiting on someone to come get him. He was stunned, when he had called Alec he told him that he was already in Germany. Alec had a lot of explaining to do. Jace had remember the location of were Jonathan's car had disappeared before he drove off and waited at a store around the block. He didn't want to risk getting caught before he had a chance to plan. He was startled out of his thoughts as some guy tapped on his window. He looked up and he realized it was a fellow Shadowhunter, not Alec.

"Alec sent me to bring you back to headquarters." The young man said as Jace slowly got out of the car.

"What's going on?" Jace said as the man ushered him into a nondescript car parked next to his own.

"Alec will explain everything when we get to headquarters." He said again, Jace got into the back of the car as the passenger seat was taken by another Shadowhunter. This one was younger than the driver, but looked comfortable in his seat holding what looked like a lap top. He watched as a third Shadowhunter got out from the back and walked to the car he had been driving before leaving in it.

"Hey I am William, but call me Will." The dark haired boy from the passenger seat said.

"Can't leave anything to chance, don't want to just leave your stolen car sitting a block away from were Jonathan is, can't have him getting suspicious." The drive said, still not giving Jace his name.

"Can you give me the location of Jonathan's hide out? I want to send some warlocks out and check what spell he's using to hide his location." Jace was silent, a little unsure of these two random guys as they drove through the quite streets.

"Dude come on, we need to get working on this asap." Jace relented after a moment and gave the location; Will started typing quickly while also pulling out a phone. He gave the location to several people before the car was silent for the reaming ride. It took about twenty minutes before they pulled up to an abandoned mill. Will and the driver got out of the car so Jace followed them. He was lead up some stairs and after flashing some badges they all entered the building. Inside was bustling with people, Jace stood amazed for a moment before Alec came over from the center of the room.

"Jace!" His parabatai said before reaching him and pulling Jace into a tight hug. Jace couldn't believe how well Alec looked. Last time he had seen him, he was a wreck.

"What is going on?" Jace demanded in an upset tone, he was confused and he just wanted answers.

"I'll explain everything, just follow me." Alec said trying to calm Jace down. Jace was lead into the middle of the room were multiple computers and equipment were located. Shadowhunters were hustling and bustling around the room doing lots of different things. Jace watched Alec take a deep breath before talking.

"Okay so in the beginning you and I were trying to track Jonathan down. Things got a little crazy, remember when one of the guys helping us got killed by that upper level demon for no reason." Alec gave him a pointed looked but Jace was always too focused on trying to get Clary back then caring about other people.

"Well after that mission someone from the clave pulled me aside, they wanted to help in finding Jonathan but they didn't think you were stable enough to be a part of the project." Jace opened his mouth to speak but Alec was too quick and pulled his hand up to silence the blond boy.

"Listen to me before you start flipping out okay? You were to close to Clary and Jonathan your mind was clouded and you were making rash decisions, decisions that got someone killed. They asked me to step away from helping you and run the mission to find that bastard. I agreed and faked having that break down about my parents so you wouldn't get suspicious." Alec stopped for a minute as they looked at each other. Jace felt the hurt deep in his heart that his parabarai could lie to him like that.

"I am sorry Jace, I had to. Jonathan needs to be stopped, Clary needs to be found." Alec started tapping on the computer in front of him and soon faces started appearing on the screen.

"We have a lot of information so far, these are all of his dark shadow hunters. We've seen them all around town; I think they are looking for us. He has them as guards to warn Jonathan if we ever find his location. So far they haven't seen us. We are very sneaky, and we have Magnus on our side to hide us from them." Jace honestly couldn't believe all this information, he was suddenly pissed off.

"Have you been in Germany as long as I have?" Jace demanded in an angry tone and Alec flinched a little but Jace didn't care, he wanted answers. He had been alone, trying to find Clary feeling like everyone had abandoned him when in reality there had been a whole team of Shadowhunters looking for Jonathan.

"We've been here for a couple of months yes." Alec finally admitted and Jace had to take a deep breath before he smashed something.

"Jace please understand our main goal here is to find Jonathan and kill him. Which also means finding Clary okay? Please brother understand I didn't want to leave you to look for Clary alone, in the beginning you were running around town scaring everyone. The Clave felt you would be a risk on the team. I see over the past couple of months you have cold down and you found Jonathan." Jace was seething inside, but he knew that Alec was doing what he had to do to help find the bastard that killed not only his little brother but his mother as well.

"Jace you have to understand okay, it's very important we find and kill Jonathan. Right now he might he in hiding but who's to say next week he doesn't decided to pick up where he left off and take all of us out. He's very powerful right now, he can't be killed. Isabella told us about how he was stabbed and he just healed right up. I need you to understand that we can't just jump right into going and rescuing Clary okay?" Jace was trying to process all the information; he was going to have to wait to find Clary?

"We need to find out why he is pretty much indestructible and work on the wards he has around his place. Jace are you willing to help us? You would be a great asset on our team, I think we are very close to finding out what spell or rune he is using to be able to be stabbed and heal right up. Please Jace be on our side, we can't just run in there we would all get killed. We need to take the time and get prepared before we go in there, okay?" Jace took a moment to think about it, Alec was right he couldn't just run in there and think he could get Clary out on his own. They had to be smart about it and take their time. He could feel his stomach well up with guilty, he decided he needed to tell Alec and his team everything. Even though it would put him in a bad light. He had to tell the truth it was eating him up inside.

"Alec I need to tell you where I found Jonathan, he was coming out of a baby store." He watched Alec tilt his head in confusion.

"Why would he be in a baby store?" Alec asked and Jace sighed deeply before sitting in a rolling chair that was next to him getting ready to launch into his story. If he was going to be a part of this team everyone had to know everything, he was in this 100%, he just wanted Clary back.

Clary squished her eyes tight; she could hear Jonathan in the other room making dinner. For some reason his verbal attacks were getting worse, she was sure it was because he didn't want to hit her to much while she was pregnant. She just couldn't listen to him call her a slut again; she was ready to clock him one on the face. She sent a little pray to heaven, prayed that God was watching everything her brother was doing and hoping the devil was also watching and carving out a special place in Hell for him.

AN: UM, sorry it's taken me forever to update. I've been really busy. But honestly I am happy I waited because I've changed my mind on the ending and this new ending is much better. I really hope you liked this chapter, it's been sitting in my brain for weeks and I've finally had time to write it down. Thank you to everyone who's read, reviewed, favored and followed this story.
