Next time Lapis opens up her eyes, it is already morning, however, she is not in the island anymore and Peridot is not with her. The blue gem back inside her room, in the temple.

"What am I doing here?" She sits and looks around. "Don't tell me I was dreaming." She places her hands on her cheeks. "N-no. I am sure I felt her lips. It couldn't be just a dream." Lapis shakes her head. "But what if it was just a dream? I can't get out of nowhere and ask her. Hey, Peridot, did you ask me to be your girlfriend last night? Oh my stars." Lapis holds her knees next to her chest. "Why am I even worried about it? If she is my girlfriend now… I will notice, right?" She stands up.

"Let's face the world." She walks out of her room.

Once she shows up in the house, she finds Steven.

"Good morning, Lapis!" The boy waves with a smile on the face.

"Good morning, Steven." Lapis waves back without much of enthusiasm. "So, What do we have for breakfast today?"

"Bacon pancakes!" Steven places a plate full of pancakes on the kitchen countertop.

"Perfect." Lapis tries to smile.

"So?" Steven raises the eyebrow.

"So? What?" Lapis asks, confused.

"Where did you and Dot go yesterday?" Steven asks with a smile.

"It wasn't a dream!" Lapis makes a genuine smile.

"Peridot was unusually happy when she brought you to the this morning."

Lapis giggles and blushes. She takes Steven by his hands and spins him around the kitchen.

"Lapis? What's this?" Steven laughs.

"Steven, you have no idea about how it was!"

"What?"

"Last night! We fused and she told me she loves me too!"

"Who?" Steven pretends he doesn't know the answer.

"Peridot!" Lapis smiles.

"I already knew that." He says and Lapis let him on the ground.

"W-w-what?" Lapis asks, confused.

"Oh, well, I knew you two loved each other, but you were not telling the other one."

"Was it that obvious?"

"I don't think so... Only Garnet and I knew about it. She even told me to not rush things and ask why you were not telling the truth." He tells her, making Lapis blush.

"Thanks for that… So, Amethyst and Pearl don't know?"

"No. You're gonna tell them, right?"

"Yes, but I still need to find out how to do it."

"Don't worry, Lapis, everything is gonna be alright." Steven makes thumbs up.

"I wish..." Lapis takes a deep breath.

"Do you want to eat?" Steven offers the pancakes.

"Sure!" She smiles.

Once they finish eating and wash all the dishes, they sit in front of Steven's bed. Lapis is next to Steven, looking at the window, with the back at the door.

"Steven?"

"Yes?"

"Where is, Peri?" She eventually asks..

"Well, Ronaldo called and asked if he could talk with Peridot. Luckily she was in a good mood and went to his house to talk to him." Steven explains.

"Who's Ronaldo?" Lapis asks, confused.

"He's a human, actually a little weird human. Peridot met him when I wasn't at home. It was back when you were sick."

"Oh, that human. Did she mention when she'll be back?"

"No.."

"Okay, thanks." Lapis holds her knees next to her chest. "After last night, I thought she would be there when I opened my eyes again. Maybe, that was a selfish thought." She takes a deep breath.

"Hey, Lapis, why don't we do something else while we wait for Peridot? Do you wanna watch Crying Breakfast Friends together?" Steven asks with a smile.

"Let's go." Lapis says, bored. She hated that cartoon. "We wanna see a cartoon about people crying, right?"

They watch a marathon Steven recorded and, eventually, there comes a time when Lapis sleeps.

"Wait until the next episode of Crying Breakfast Friends to find out." The TV announces.

"This was the best episode ever." Steven smiles, with stars in his eyes, when he looks at Lapis for an answer, she is snoring.

"Lapis?" Steven touches Lapis cheek

"H-h-hello... I-I'm Lapis." Lapis says looking around, a little bit snore, making Steven laugh.

"I know who you are. Tell me what did you think about the episode?"

"Oh…" She looks at the TV. "It was... Nice?" Lapis lies.

"I thought that too." Steven looks at the TV with a smile.

By that time, Peridot opens the house's door, but Lapis doesn't notice.

When Peridot realizes that Lapis is not aware of her presence in the house, she decides to scare Lapis a little bit.

"So, Steven, how Connie is doing?" Lapis tries to delay him, so he will take more time to start another record of CBF.

"C-Connie." Steven starts to laugh a little bit because he finds out what Peridot is planning.

"Yes." Lapis raises an eyebrow and, at that exact moment, someone holds Lapis's shoulders real quick, scaring the blue gem, who jumps on her sit.
Once she finds Peridot behind her back, she catches her breath.
"Peri... You scared me." Lapis closes her eyes.

"It was my intend." Peridot giggles.

"You silly." Lapis smiles.

Peridot sits next to Lapis, who places her head on her girlfriend's shoulder.

"How were things with the human?"

"Interesting..."

"Only that?" Lapis raises an eyebrow and looks at Peridot.

"Only what?" Peridot looks at Lapis as well.

"Well, you are not gonna say things like 'he was a completely clod' or something like that?" Lapis laughs.

"Oh, he was weird indeed." Peridot agrees with her head.

"Okay!" Lapis giggles.

"So, Steven, what were you doing with my girl?" Peridot looks at the boy.

"What?" Steven asks, confused.

"Your girl?" Lapis raises her eyebrow again and crosses her arms.

"Well, I thought... Aren't we... a c-couple now?" Peridot asks, confused, while blushing a little bit.

"I'm joking, Peri." Lapis laughs and kisses her cheek.

"Come on my playful gem." Peridot holds Lapis and kissed her cheek.

"Peri, you're embarrassing me in front of Steven." Lapis giggles.

Peridot kisses Lapis one more time and let her go.

"I'm sorry, Steven." Lapis looks at him, blushing.

"It is okay. I'm going to the bathroom." Steven stands up and Peridot laughs.

"Hey, Steven, where are the others?" Peridot asks before he leaves.

"Looking for Jasper." Steven walks downstairs, right to the bathroom

"Well, I think we should tell them about us." Peridot tells Lapis.

"Do you really want to talk with them today?" Lapis looks at her, a little bit concerned.

Peridot notices the tone on her voice and places her hand on Lapis's cheek.

"Everything is gonna be okay..."

Lapis holds her hand and lies her head down on Peridot's legs.

"I don't want anything to go wrong." Lapis tells her girlfriend.

"My dear, what could go wrong?"

"I don't know Peri." Lapis closes her eyes. "Everything?"

Peridot gets her face closer to Lapis's face.

"Lapis..." Peridot call the ocean gem, making her open her eyes.

"Peridot?"

"I promise you, everything is going to be okay." Peridot kisses her forehead.

"Do you?"

"Yes."

Lapis smiles and places her hand on Peridot's cheek. Lapis gets closer to the other one's lips and kisses her, a long and passionate kiss. Both stay like that for a while. That kiss is different, it is not like the others they shared in the past hours. This one makes them feel safe and unusually comfortable. It is like all their problems just fade away.

When they stop, Lapis looks at Peridot's eyes. Those makes her remember that, wherever Peridot is, her home is there as well. Wherever she is with Peridot, they are home.
