Chapter Eight

We followed behind Sentinel, Bee, Mirage and Sideswipe on the look out for any Cons. Needless to say, I was too. All of us knew what was at risk if they got a hold of the old Prime, and none of us wanted that. How ever, as we continued down the street, warnings started to flash in my HUD.

Decepticon signatures detected.

My optics widened. That was not good.

Identify sources? Yes or No.

Immediately!

Some black sedans started to drive up beside us and I got an uneasy feeling.

Source identified. Vehicles beside you.

"FRAG!" I shouted, stopping my alt-form and stirring away from the sedans. I then was about to contact Sam when one of the sedan's transformed. The mech that soon stood in its place. He had what were our version of dread-locks. He reached out and pulled Simmons from his car and chucked him back, before somersaulting over it. He ended up knocking down a sign, and providing a ramp for the other two sedans.

"Scrap."

I growled, driving up to where Simmons was laying on the ground. Still in the car, I'm pretty sure Dutch was freaking out. Jumping out, I knelt beside the former agent.

"Come on Simmons." I patted his face, trying to make sure he was still alive. Right when I did that, he let out a pain filled groan.

"What do you want?" Rolling my eyes, I chuckled a little.

"Let's get you to Dutch."

Slipping my arm under his back, and his knees, I easily picked him up. Now, it's important to know even though my holoform looks like a weak human, I'm stronger than the average man. Walking over to the parked vehicle, I managed to open the back door and lie the man down on the seat. Up front, Dutch was freaking out... Just like I thought.

"Hey, Dutch!" I got his attention and gave him a serious look.

"Yes?" He gave me a slightly fear filled look.

"Get him to the hospital. I'm going to go help Sam." I left before he could even respond, making it impossible for him to question me. Only once he had driven away from the ramp, I revved and speed to them. Easily, I was able to clear the wreckage and land safely. As I did, I contacted Hide.

::Ironhide, we have a REALLY big problem!::

::Why?:: (Ironhide)

He already sounded worried.

::Three Cons are on Sentinel's heels.::

::Frag. Alright, I'm on my way. You stay with Sentinel, I'll deal with the Cons.:: (Ironhide)

He ordered, and I could already tell he was leaving the NEST base.

::Copy.::

Deactivating my holoform, I pushed myself faster so I could catch up. Needless to say, it wasn't that hard to tell where they had gone. I just had to follow the wreckage. But somethings still didn't seem right to me. How did the Cons find us so easily? It just didn't make sense.

Drifting around a corner, I onlined my battle computer. Something told me I might need it soon. Despite the fact I didn't want to think of the possibility. Soon enough, I had caught up with the others. Quickly parking, I ran through the gate, just as Sam hopped out of Bumblebee.

"Lennox!" He called, running up to the Colonel. "We've got Decepticons everywhere."

He clearly was as confused as me.

"Look, I've got my whole team deployed." Lennox said, trying to calm him down. "Ironhide!" The bot transformed as his name was called. "Protect Sentinel. Get him locked up inside."

"Consider it done." He nodded, glancing at me quickly. I just nodded too, knowing he wanted me to stay near the humans.

"You gotta guard him, because he's the key to the whole thing." Sam explained.

"Indeed I am." Sentinel agreed, standing up. That's when it clicked in my processors.

"Frag."

"What you must realize my Autobot brothers, is we were never going to win the war."

::Hide you need to move, now!::

I warned, slowly moving away.

"For the sake of our planet's survival, a deal had to be made."

Ironhide glanced at me, just as he realized what was going on.

::Echo, no matter what you better stay in your holofrom, and hidden. Till all are one.:: (Ironhide)

He ordered, shutting the Comm. link off right after.

"No." I whispered, realizing why he said that.

"With Megatron." Sentinel cocked a gun and turned to face us, shooting Ironhide straight through the chest.

"What have you done?" He questioned the traitorous Prime, his servos beginning to rust.

"I here by discharge from duty."

Sentinel responded. Once he did, all hell broke loose. And it started with me.

"HIDE!" I shouted, just as he was shot one last time. Bee tumble out to of the way of Sentinel, and the soldiers started running to a safer distance, knowing they could be crushed. Lennox grabbed onto Sam's arm, pulling him away, and tried to do the same thing to me. But I dodged him and ran over to Hides body. Things were flying past me and scratched at my skin, but I didn't care.

Some how staying out of Sentinel's view, -who soon ran into the base- I ducked down beside Ironhide's helm. He turned to give me on more look, his optics filled with pain, before they dimmed. When they did, the rust over took his entire form and his head rolled off.

"No." I whispered, sinking back onto my knees. "No... No... Not you too." My voice got shaky and my eyes started to water up.

"NO!"

There, I'm sorry I had to do that and I'm fully prepared for the reviews I will get.

Keep in mind I warned you at the beginning of the chapter.
