Chapter 10

Seeing the engines explode had come as a shock to Harry. He'd been so far away from the Muggle world that he forgotten how they too could be so violent. But then, he supposed, they were fighting an imperial figure.

He still couldn't quite believe that he was actually fighting Loki. But he had more important things to worry about.

... Such as that brother of his that was currently trying to push the propellers.

Harry shook at the ideas and the things that his brother does and quickly apparated close towards him and quickly called him, knowing that Tony could accept his phone call via JARVIS.

"Harry!" Tony's voice was breathless and broken.

"What do you think you are doing!?" Harry almost screams, but calms down as he tries to figure out how he can help his brother.

"I need to get the debris out. The Cap's gonna pull the lever for me." Tony tried to sound assured of his plan, but he knew that he would feel better if it was his brother who had his back. Even though it was the legendary Captain America they were talking about.

"Fine," Harry huffed, knowing how stubborn his brother can be, "I'll go look after the Captain." Harry saw three men make their way towards Steve and knew that nothing good was going to come out of it, and he would feel better if he was there to make sure that his brother actually made it out of his position in one piece.

Making his way towards where Steve was holding onto the leaver, he watched his back just in case. Which was just as lucky because three men decided to make their entrance. He looked back at the Captain to see him glancing between Harry and the men.

"You stay with Tony, I'll deal with them." Said Harry, barely glancing at the soldier and keeping an eye on the movements of the men.

They moved suddenly. But Harry was a trained fighter and it didn't take him long to deal with the first two men. But that had given the third his chance. He ran towards Steve and pushed him off Steve who was thrown back but luckily managed to hold onto a the platform he had been standing on barely a minute earlier.

To make matters worse, that was the moment Tony called for the Captain to pull the lever.

"I'm on it, Stark!" Steve called out as he swung his legs around and over onto the platform just as the third man came at him again. This time however, both Harry and Steve were ready. Just as Harry kicked at the man's legs, the Captain threw his fist into the face of their opponent. The guy stood no chance at all and crumpled down to the ground unconscious.

They smiled at each tentatively before remembering Tony and both sprinted into action.

"Tony!" Harry called urgently, "which one?" He hadn't heard what his brother had told the Captain.

"The red lever! NOW!" Hearing the panic in his brother's spurred Harry into action. He rarely heard his brother panic.

Silence was heard on the comm as Tony made his way out of the engine. Then a sigh of relief as Tony flew straight into another that the others hadn't noticed. All three men allowed themselves a minute of respite.

This was just starting.

"Agent Coulson is down."

Four simple words and they managed to bring the three of them down. Harry sat between Tony and Steve but was glancing worriedly at his brother who was simple looking down, a furrow between his eyebrows as Fury talked about Coulson. There was history here, and Harry was going to find out what.

He followed his brother as he stood. He knew that expression by now. Another idea going on.

"He was an idiot! He should have waited!" Tony suddenly blurted.

"Why?"

"For taking Loki on alone. " Tony was getting angry now, you can tell by the increased hand movements. Another thing Harry had learnt about his brother over the last few weeks.

"He was out of his league! He should have waited, should have..."

"Sometimes, there's nothing you can do, Tony." Harry said gently, thinking back to the War.

"Right. How did that work out for him?"

"Is this the first time you've lost a soldier?" Harry shook his head at the Captain's question but the damage was already done.

"We are not soldiers!" Aggressive defensive mode now. Woo. He really had learnt more about his younger brother than he would have thought be had

"This is personal," he was rambling by now. " That's Loki's point. He hit us all right where we live. Why?"

Nobody bothered to answer knowing that this wasn't the time and that Tony would probably answer himself. Which he did not fail to do.

"He had to conquer his greed, but he knows he has to take us out to win, right? That's what he wants. He wants to beat us and he want to be seen doing it. He wants an audience. He wants flowers, he wants parades, he wants a monument built in the skies with his name plastered..."

Harry and Tony shared a wide eyed glance and spoke at the same time:

"The bloody git!"

"Son of a bitch!"
