Chapter 11: Some Bonds Never Die

(Normal POV)

"Come on the spacebridge is this way," the vehicon said.

"Why do we need to go there?" asked Predaking.

"One, I cannot longer fly and Two, chances are you can't carry us both off this ship," the seeker argued with Predaking. Shadowrunner just looked around and kept up with them. She couldn't help, but silently panic. Predaking was in the lead as the vehicon led them to the space bridge control. Shadowrunner watched as the seeker quickly turned it on.

"Where are we going exactly?" Predaking said as he finished decapitating another vehicon.

"Somewhere far away from here and hard for the DJD to track in," he said as he finished typing in the coronets, "Hurry through. I have it set to shut down and erase the coronets in a minute or so."

On that note Shadowrunner felt Predaking pull her through the space bridge. She saw Tarn at the corner of her eye run in the room and he didn't look happy at the sight of them leaving. Fear sank insider her when they locked optics for a moment, before his stare went to Predaking and the seeker. They hurried quickly through the space bridge. Bright daylight welcomed them as they reached the other side. Not a minute later the space bridge closed with both sides clear of the closing portal. The other side was a deep canyon. It looked like everything was made of rock.

***Aboard the Nemesis. Tarn's POV***

"That son of a **Bang**," Tarn cursed hitting the side of the hall. How could Shadowrunner of left? The predacon must have said something to her. He turned around to assemble the rest of his time to go retrieve his girl and kill the predacon and the vehicon. He had told the silver seeker to look after Shadowrunner, not hand her over to the predacon. Tarn was in the right mind to slowly peel off that vehicon's remaining wing strut and he was going to enjoy every minute of it.

***On Earth***

"Man, Tarn looked pissed," was all Shadowrunner could say after the space bridge closed.

"That's why we're not going to stick around. We need to move now," Predaking said as he walked in the opposite direction of where the space bridge had been.

"He's right. If Soundwave recovers these coronets we're screwed," the seeker said then looked at her, "At least we'd be."

"What's that suppose to mean?" Shadowrunner asked the vehicon, while staring at him.

"I mean chances are, if the DJD catches us they'll kill us," he motioned to himself and Predaking, "And Tarn will watch you like a hawk."

"That's settling," she said as she stopped and suddenly recognized where they were, "Oh my god. Do you know where you transported us?"

"Um, not really. I just picked a place I knew had a lot of rock and steep hills," the vehicon explained, "I may have been in pain and lying down, but don't think I didn't notice the scraps on Tarn's back. I'm guessing he slipped and slid somewhere."

"Yeah he did. He slid down the side of a mountain when he lost his footing," Shadowrunner told him.

"Do you know where we are?" Predaking interrupted them.

"Yeah. We're in Nevada, on my family's land. I'd know it anywhere," Shadowrunner said as she looked up to the predacon and said, "I rode my horse through this canyon many times. I wonder…."

Shadowrunner suddenly ran away in the direction they were headed. She heard Predaking and the vehicon follow behind her. A thought had crossed her mind. Did Storm make it home ok? What about mom? She knew in the back of her mind she wouldn't be able to talk to her, but she just wanted to see her mom. See how she was handling her being gone. She felt tears starting to form in her eyes at the thought of her mother in misery. She remembered what her mother was like when her father died, what was this going to do to her. The canyon finally came to an end and she was greeted by the sight of her old home.

The green pastures and horses where a sight for sore eyes. She wanted nothing more than to run down and see her family, but she knew she couldn't. She heard Predaking and the seeker come from behind, but she didn't turn around.

"Was this your home?" she heard Predaking ask.

"Yeah, this is it. My patch of heaven. At least it was before this happened to me," Shadowrunner answered him as she looked down at her hands, only to see a reminder of why she could run down and hug her mom or her horse. A reminder that she could never ride with her best friend among the wild horses that lived on their land. All she wanted to now was breakdown and cry, but she resisted the urge.

"I'm still learning about this planet, but it is beautiful," Predaking said as he laid a hand gently on her shoulder. A loud neigh got their attention. Shadowrunner recognized it immediately, it was Storm. She watched her best friend galloping wildly around the farm tail and head held high.

"What's that?" the seeker finally spoke.

"That's Storm. My horse, my best friend, my brother," she answered him still watching Storm run wild. She figured as much. Storm had always been wild from the day she adopted him. He may have never lost his wild streak, but he behaved more like the brother she never had. They would fall asleep in his stall and she never had to worry about him. He only allowed her to ride him, but she never broke him in. That was the depth of their bond. No one ever figured out why, not even her mother knew why the wild mustang allowed her to ride him with such trust.

Predaking must have sensed her mood, because he sudden spoke getting the seeker's and Shadowrunner's attention, "We should find a cave or something till night fall. The DJD shouldn't be stupid enough to attract too much attention to themselves, at least let's hope so. Shadowrunner are there anything along those lines around here."

"Yeah there's a cave this way. Follow me," Shadowrunner said as she led them along the ridge line that circled the ranch and up to a cave that looked over the farm and much of the valley, "Storm and I would come up here from time to time and camp out."

It was a short climb to the cave for Predaking and Shadowrunner, but the seeker seemed to be having a harder time. Shadowrunner noticed he seemed to be having a harder time climbing and kept sliding down, so she decided to slide back down to help him.

"Come on. I'll help you," she said as she grabbed the arm that was on the side that was missing the wing and helped him climb up. Predaking reached down and helped them both up. She could confusion in both of their optics asking why she did that, "What?"

"You defiantly wouldn't have made a good Decepticon," the vehicon laughed a little as he slid down the wall of the cave to a sitting position, "You're too nice, too innocent. Maybe that's why Tarn likes you so much."

"Do you have a name?" Predaking said changing the subject.

"No," the seeker as he looked at the predacon, "None of the vehicons do. Neither flying nor driving does. The ones with the silver paint job like mine are only known for being part of Starscream's armada that's it."

"We could always call you Onewing, considering you only have one wing," Predaking pointed out the vehicon's missing wing strut.

"You're real funny," the seeker boldly sarcastically remarked back.

"What about Silverwing?" Shadowrunner asked interrupting the mechs argument.

"That could work. It could take a while for me to response to it," the seeker said.

"It's fitting. It still points out you have one wing," Predaking pointed out.

"Yes, but it doesn't say it out right till you see I'm missing a wing," the newly named vehicon remarked back. The two mechs went back to arguing as Shadowrunner turned her attention to the mouth of the cave when she heard someone coming inside of the cave. It didn't take long to recognize who was making the sound, it was Storm.

"Storm," Shadowrunner said as she sat down so her old friend could see her. A combination of her voice and Storm's hoof beats must have gotten their attention, because she heard Predaking kneel down behind her and Silverwing lean over from where he was sitting. Shadowrunner spoke again, "Hey boy. How you've been?"

The horse responded with a loud and happy sounding neigh. It was clear that he remembered her. Storm perked up his ears at the predacon and vehicon behind her. They defiantly we're with her last time.

"It's ok," Shadowrunner looked over at the two confused mechs, "This is Storm. The one I pointed out earlier. He must have heard us climbing and came to see who was in the cave."

"Unique he's not showing fear," Predaking observed the creature before him as the horse walked around and nudged Shadowrunner.

"Why show fear to a friend? Storm and I have always been close. I guess when your bond is as strong as ours, the friendship can never die not matter what happens," Shadowrunner said as she turned her attention back to Storm as she gently petted the mustang's back. He suddenly ran up to Predaking's foot and sniffed it before running up to Silverwing and doing the same.

"What's he doing?" Predaking asked watching the mustang run back to Shadowrunner. He defiantly saw they had a strong bond. Even with Shadowrunner's current state. He had to wonder if he was their when she was changed. He'd have to ask, but not now.

"Just smelling you to see if your ok or not," Shadowrunner said, before she turned her attention back to Storm. Predaking cocked his head to the side when he saw the look of sadness in her optics as she spoke to her former complain, "Storm I need you to go back home, ok. It's not safe for you here. Before we go anywhere we'll have to go for a walk in the canyons, alright."

The mustang gave one little stomp of its hoof and a sad snort as he turned and ran to the mouth cave. She watched Storm as he paused before turning and running wildly down back to the farm. She then looked to the sky to see the sun was going down only time will tell what the night will bring.

***Well what do ya think? This was meant to be more of an emotional chapter, partially for Shadowrunner and Storm. Well anyways let me know what you think.
