Firelight made her…everything shine like some kind of goddess. Oh her brave princess was so beautiful. And she was holding her hand! Oh, it felt like her lonely heart would burst from joy!
She would hold her princess's hand. Forever. Hold her hand as the light from the hearth would play with darker rose colored shadows in her princess's fine hair. Forever.
Her princess smiled sympathetically, easing her elegant hand out of Nina's grasp—
"I'm very sorry."
—and the firelight too weak to show frustrated tears forming down Nina's face.
"But I have already fallen in love with my knight."
