"AAAAAHHHHHH!"
With just that scream from a woman, the entire crowd of people gathered had scattered within seconds, dispersing in all direction as they desperately tried to escape the area they were currently in.
"That's right, Humans! Run!" Standing proudly with a halberd in his hand, the Fangire twirled his halberd around and pierced it through a man who had fallen onto the ground. The man gasped from the sudden pain he felt as his body went numb while blood dripped from the tip of the halberd which was poking out of his chest.
The Fangire in question was similar to most Fangires, with a muscular body. His body was stained purple and green from head to toe. On his shoulders were spikes which curved at the end, resembling spirals. At the sides of his arms were blades which were sharp to the tip. The Fangire's face resembled a mask because of its faceplate. His eyes were widened with pure darkness clouding them. Above his head was a small curved beak. Attached to his back was a pair of wings which were folded. This Fangire was the Owl Fangire.
"I just love the scream of you maggots!" Owl cooed as he picked up the corpse of the man he had murdered seconds ago and tossed it aside. "More~! Give me more screams!" Owl unfolded his wings as he began hovering above the ground and flew towards a cornered woman who was crouched and facing her back to him. As Owl advanced towards her, he began hearing the sound of a child crying.
Owl tilted his head and cackled as he caught a glimpse of a little girl sobbing with the arms of the woman around her. "A little girl crying is a wonderful bonus! But I wonder how her screams will sound like." Owl landed behind the woman. As he looked down at the humans, he could see the woman tensing as he raised his halberd. He thrust his halberd forward.
He had expected a 'wonderful' cry of pain and death. However, he heard neither. Owl turned his attention to his halberd and gasped when he saw a pair of hands holding onto his weapon.
"Fangire!" Owl quickly turned his attention to the man holding his halberd and received a fist to the face, knocking the Fangire onto his back. The mysterious man then dropped the halberd and stretched his left arm out to the side in a defensive manner. "I won't let you hurt this woman or her child! Your opponent is me!"
Owl growled as he scrambled to his feet. "You bastard! Who do you think you are?!"
The man smirked as he lowered his arm. "Who am I?" He repeated. "I am the one who will end all Fangires who opposes Kiva's rule. But to you, you may call me IXA, Kamen rider IXA!" Without a moment to lose, the man pulled out a belt and strapped it onto his waist. With his spare hand, he pulled out a fist-like device from his underneath his vest and pressing it against the palm of his opposite hand, causing a robotic voice to speak in a monotonous voice.
- Ready! -
"Henshin!" The man cried as he placed the device onto his belt.
- Fist On! -
A bright glow emitted from the device as it shot out, forming a cross with one of its four sides missing. A suit begins to form within the golden glow and it merged with the man. The suit materialized, and the man clenched his fists. His suit was mainly black, covered by the white armor all over his body with blue outlines on the armor. At the same time, the cross on his helmet had split open, revealing a pair of red visors behind them.
IXA turned his head slightly and whispered to the woman. "Please get away from this area. It's not safe with him running around." The woman nodded and took off with the girl without a second to spare as IXA looked back at Owl. "Now, please return that life to God!"
"God?" Owl repeated with a hint of disgust. "How dare you, human! Do you think I would give up my life that easily? You're going to have to do it yourself!"
"Fair enough," IXA replied as he brought out his personal weapon, the IXA Calibur, a sword which he uses when he is in his IXA suit. He raised the weapon until the end of its blade faced him and he began provoking the Fangire. "Come! Show me what you got!"
Owl growled. "Oh I'll show you alright!" He spread his wings and crouched. Before IXA could do anything, Owl had disappeared from his view. The Fangire reappeared behind him, grabbing IXA by his shoulder. IXA, however, acted on his reflexes an instincts. He spun around and swung his sword, slashing across Owl's chest and causing a line of sparks to appear on the Fangire's body.
IXA continued his counter-attack immediately, slashing and hacking away at Owl without mercy. The Fangire screeched several times as the blade made contact with him. He was pushed back a few steps and he barely had any time to retaliate. Then, IXA raised his foot, kicking Owl and knocking him onto his back. As Owl fell, IXA approached him and grabbed the Fangire by the neck and lifting him up onto his feet.
"Please get up. I am not done yet," said IXA as he smashed the hilt of his IXA Calibur into Owl's face, causing the Fangire to stagger back. IXA lowered his weapon and pulled the hilt back, causing the blade to retract as the hilt extended downwards. IXA aimed his weapon, now in Gun Mode, and pulled the trigger, blasting the Fangire with devastating fire-power that were all aimed at the Fangire's chest.
Owl screeched once more as he collapsed onto his back. He quickly turned around and scrambled to his feet. Owl made a dash towards the exit as he plucked out a feather from his wings. "Distract him!" As he dropped the feather, it was engulfed in a bright glow that made IXA shield his eyes. Once the glow died down, a duplicate of Owl appeared as the real Owl flew off.
"Damn it!" IXA cursed as the Owl duplicate lunged forward, bending its body as it began pushing IXA back. "Out of my way!" IXA cried as he slammed his fist onto the duplicate's back. The duplicate didn't budge. It kept pushing IXA back with determination. IXA continued slamming his fist onto the duplicate multiple times but it became troublesome. Instead, IXA pushed the hilt of his IXA Calibur back, causing the blade to extend out once more. IXA then lowered his hand to the side of his belt and pulled out a whistle-like object, a Fuestle, and placed it inside of a slot on the device attached to his belt. As he did, a series of beeping tunes began playing and it came to a stop when IXA pushes the device to the side.
- IXA Calibur Rise Up! -
"I warned you," IXA said as he raised his knee, kneeing the duplicate. The duplicate stumbled back, releasing its grip on IXA. A big mistake, nonetheless. IXA gripped the IXA Calibur tightly with both of his hands. Then, he swung it. The blade slashed through the duplicate's waist and it froze as IXA continued with another slash to the duplicate's chest, followed by a diagonal slash from its shoulder to its hip. Finally, IXA raised his weapon and slashed the duplicate, starting from the head to the bottom.
The duplicate fell to its knees and collapsed onto its back. Its body hardened as different colors took over its purple and green flesh. Then, its body shattered as shards of glass that was flung all over the place.
IXA heaved a sigh as he lowered his weapon and removed the device from his belt, causing his transformation to disappear and returning him to his Civilian form. IXA straightened his tie and rubbed his neck, wincing at the pain he was feeling. "I let the real one escape. He'll be causing more trouble unless I can stop him before Wataru knows about it." IXA muttered as he kept the device back in his vest.
"Nago-kun!"
IXA, who's real name is Nago, turned around, only to see a woman approaching him. He smiled and waved at her. "Megumi! What are you doing here?"
"I came because I heard that a Fangire was here!" Megumi cried.
Nago shook his head. "He escaped. Left me to fight his duplicate."
Megumi sighed. "And here I thought the rebellion was ending. It seems that the Neo-Fangires are making their next move. What will Wataru-kun do about them? He's already busy with his job as King."
"Not to worry," Nago replied. "We will have to defend the people in his place. That's why IXA was even made in the first place, to protect humans. Now come on, we have to find that Fangire!"
Owl crashed onto the ground. His breath was unsteady as he struggled to his feet. "Damn IXA...why did he have to get in my way?!"
"Is that you, Owl?"
Owl turned and gasped. He quickly knelt down and bowed his head as another Fangire appeared. "Swan-sama! I had no idea that you were here! I thought you had went to gather information."
The new Fangire, known as Swan, chuckled as he gestured Owl to stand, which he did. Swan then turned around and spoke. "I WAS gathering information. But it seems that rumors spread like wildfire for the humans. I had heard of a Owl-like monster attacking civilians. So I had to rush back here and see for myself if it was true. It seems it was." Swan raised a hand and stretched it out, releasing a blast of energy from his hand that knocked Owl onto his back.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" Swan bellowed. "We are hiding because we are trying to recruit more Fangires to Neo-Fangires so that we may build an army to take the throne from Kiva! If I say we hide, we hide. When I say don't attack, you don't attack!"
"Forgive me, Swan-sama! I was only trying to encourage the Fangires who might be around me that we do not need to befriend the humans!" Owl cried as he was grabbed by the neck and lifted off the ground. He struggled against the strength of the Fangire holding him but he was weak. Swan tossed Owl around like a rag doll until he eventually stopped.
Swan then lowered himself so that he was facing the kneeling Owl. "If we attack the humans like how you did, the Fangires will certainly side with Kiva since IXA is an ally of him. Don't forget, the King before Kiva is also an ally to the humans and he is strong even without the power of Dark Kiva. What you did was an immature act. Within time, Kiva might be able to destroy us if you keep acting on your own."
He slammed a fist into the wall, creating a hole on it. Swan heaved a sigh as he removed his fist and turned back to Owl. "We cannot win this battle with our current number of twenty Neo-Fangires. We are outnumbered by a thousand times! We need a miracle to help us."
"Seems that our master has granted you that miracle, Neo-Fangires." The two Neo-Fangires turned as two spheres of darkness appeared in front of them. The two spheres then formed silhouettes before their bodies formed. Standing in the dim light of the sun, were Hellhound's subordinates. The male Undead approached Swan and Owl, who were backing up in fear. The male Undead gestured to himself and spoke again. "Let me introduce myself. I am Gargoyle Undead. And this is my partner, Succubus Undead..." Hearing her name, Succubus bowed while Gargoyle continued. "We are servants of the almighty Darkness and we were sent here to assist you."
"What?" Swan asked in confusion as he eyed the two Undeads. "This is all so sudden..."
"Many things can come suddenly, Swan Fangire," Succubus replied. "But this is what the Darkness wants. It wants to help you. It will grant you power. All you have to do is serve it and you shall receive it."
Owl stepped forward with one of his wings spread out in front of Swan. "Swan-sama, the aura they are giving off is...powerful. I don't think they are trustworthy. They might be part of the new Checkmate Four that Kiva had formed weeks ago."
Gargoyle laughed as a white sphere formed in the palm of his hand. "Could any of Checkmate Four's Fangires do this? Can they create a power that can give any Fangire power that is on par with the King?"
Swan lowered Owl's wing and stepped forward, tilting his head. "What kind of power are you talking about?"
A grin formed on Gargoyle's face. "Allow me to introduce to you the power of...Neo Kiva!" The white sphere began swirling around the Undead's hand, completely engulfing it until it hovered into the air, taking the shape of a bat. This caught the interest of Swan as he gazed at the silhouette of a bat. Then, it materialized and the Neo-Fangires gasped.
"KIVAT?!"
Gargoyle chuckled. "This is Neo Kivat, your new partner, Swan. Neo Kivat will grant you the power of Kiva, infused with the Darkness's own power as well. You shall experience it for yourself and decide you fate once you are done."
Neo Kivat flapped its wings, making its way towards Swan. Its silver body glittered in the dim sunlight shining on it and its green eyes shimmered as it stared at Swan. Neo Kivat then grinned as it hovered in front of Swan's hand and spoke in a deep, male voice. "I will grant you the power of the Darkness, Fangire. Gabu!"
Neo Kivat opened his mouth and bit down on Swan's hand, causing an eerie tune to play, which the two Neo-Fangires recognized as the tune of Kiva whenever he transforms. Chains had suddenly appeared around Swan's waist and as they tightened around him, the chains formed a greyish belt. On each sides of the belt were three slots where Fuestles rested.
Then, the mechanical bat perched his legs on the top of the belt's buckle and attached himself onto it, causing the tune to seize. Swan's body was then gone, replaced by a glass-like silhouette of a form similar to what the Neo-Fangires knew as Kiva. Moments afterwards, the silhouette shattered into shards, revealing a suit of armor in its place. The armor covered a black bodysuit and the armor was silver and blue. Around Swan's shoulder was a silver vest-like armor, covering a blue body armor which had feather-like designs on it. On the silver armor were chains wrapped around it which could also be visible along his body as well. His helmet was colored black with his visors shaped as bat wings in the color of green.
Owl flinched at the sight of Swan in his new form. He looked at him up and down before looking directly at his visors. "Swan-sama? Are you all right?"
"All right?" Swan repeated. "I am feeling better than all right. I'm feeling fantastic!"
Both Gargoyle and Succubus smiled and the former spoke. "Welcome to the world, Neo Kiva."
