X Hunters X

Preview: #2...?

This preview is actually from a few days after school ended (I typed it because I actually really look forward to typing this), and was last edited 51 days ago. It's for "Hunters" (see chapter 8), and I wasn't entirely are if I wanted to upload it (since the story already has a preview)...but here it is!

Remember to tell me if you want it sooner or later!

Summary: Boys work for an organization called "Hunters" and are tracking a mysterious man simply known as "Changeling"/"Morpher". He acts as someone you haven't seen in years/is dead, eventually driving you crazy and often ends up killing his victims. The boys start looking for the Utonium sisters, who have all been affected. ...But why are the six girls so familiar...? Slightly AU.

I pulled out my scythe, my voice slow and careful. "Y'know...I never thought I'd pull this out in front of...someone like...you."

"...What is that supposed to mean?" the girl responded coolly.

"...Well...you're a sophisticated hardworking girl."

She shot me a look, pulling out two sharp blades. "Maybe this lady isn't as weak as you make her out to be."

I was playing her. She was possessed. I knew it. Morpher had gotten to her too. "Well then, let's prove it, shall we?" I suggested, taking my stance.

She nodded coldly. "Very well. If you insist." She stood firmly, arms out with the blades in hand. "But I would like to know...what is your name, mister...?"

"...It's Butch. Butch Jojo, to be exact," I replied, swinging the scythe back. "But enough talk. Let's BEGIN!" I charged at her, raising my scythe and bringing it down.

She dodged by jumping onto the wall in front of me and landing behind me. I spun quickly around before she could attack. "But don't you want to know my name?" she asked.

"I don't care much right now," I said through gritted teeth. "Why don't you tell me later when we're settled with some nice, hot tea?"

She smirked. "Hot tea, eh...? I'd say."

"RAAAHH!" I brought up my scythe again and swung down.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk," she said, shaking her head as she did a somersault in the air. "When will you learn that such brute strength will not defeat grace?"

"...Take this for grace," I shot back. Ducking down and spinning, I slashed the scythe past her legs. The wooden end touched her ankles and I swept her off her feet...literally.

"Umph!" She landed, her cheek hitting the floor. A loud thud followed as her glasses slid off.

"Had enough yet?" I asked, pointing my blade at her.

She glared up at me. "...How dare you..." she whispered. "HOW DARE YOU!"

I ducked downwards as she swung one of her blades at me.

"HOW DARE YOU!" she kept screaming, raising her blades.

"Where's your elegance? Where's your grace?" I mocked, kicking a leg upwards and hitting her face.

She stumbled back and crashed into a desk, shouting out in pain. "YOU JERK!"

"What...?" I asked innocently, "No harsher words?"

She growled, racing forward and slashing me in the side twice with both blades. The third time I jumped upwards onto the wall.

"GET BACK HERE!" she shouted, raising both hands. Her blades scraped each other harshly and the cold clink of metal against metal sounded.

I panted, holding my bleeding sides. What a bitch! All I did was bruise her goddamn face! I grabbed my scythe, which had fallen beside me. "No way am I letting you ruin my good looks!"

"GOOD LOOKS!? YOU HAVE NONE!" She stabbed her blades toward me, aiming for my chest. I turned just in time though, and I let out a cry of pain as one of her blades got stuck in my shoulder.

Ouch. I was hurt in more ways than one. I mean, seriously! Me; no good looks?

Landing on a desk nearby, I crouched. One of my bleeding knees touched the wrecked papers on the desk, getting blood on them. Meanwhile, I was tugging her blade out of my arm. I grunted, closing my eyes and wincing at the pain.

One word: ...Fuck.

She was running towards me again, this time carrying only one blade. "GIVE. THAT. BACK!"

"You're the one who stabbed me with it!" I shouted back, finally pulling it out. A pool of blood flew out of my shoulder and covered her face and shirt.

She froze, eyes wide at the sight of red staining her precious blouse. "No...No!" She looked up at me, eyes ablaze with tears and fire. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"

"It's your own fault you got covered in my blood!" I shot back, gripping my arm. Her blade lay beside me, covered in my blood as well.

I stood up and wobbled. "If you hadn't stabbed me none of this would've happened!"

"I WAS AIMING FOR YOUR CHEST!" she screamed back. "IF YOU HAD DIED LIKE YOU SHOULD'VE, IT WOULD'VE WORKED OUT!"

"NO IT WOULDN'T!" I shouted back. I was tired of her shit! "MY BLOOD WOULD'VE COVERED YOU EVEN MORE! THERE WOULD'VE BEEN MORE ON YOUR HANDS AND STUPID BLADES!"

She stared at me in shock as I continued to yell at her.

"KILLING PEOPLE IS WORSE THAN HURTING THEM!" I said, grabbing my scythe. I scratched it across the wooden oak desk. "I've had with this shit!"

Suddenly, the door was kicked down. After the dust settled, my brother Brick appeared. He was holding his iconic two guns and his red eyes looked fiery. "UNIT 20, MOVE OUT!"

The Hunters behind him quickly hustled inside, each carrying a gun.

Brick nodded in satisfaction. He then turned to the girl and I, who had both been just staring this whole time. "We have the section surrounded. Drop your weapons and release my brother." When she opened her mouth to protest, he sent her a dark glare that shot shivers down all of our spines. "Now," he spat. He aimed his guns at her, and the other Hunters did the same.

"...Alright," she said, dropping her blade. "Alright."

"...Hands up as well," Brick warned. He turned to Elmer. "Elm, prepare the handcuffs and call Mitch. Tell him Butch is okay and tell him to prepare the containment space with Boomer and Mike."

"Understood!" Elmer said, saluting Brick. He dialled a number and said, "Yes; Brick wants the containment space prepared. And yes, he's okay...mostly."

Soon she was being escorted downstairs. She sent Brick a cold glare as she was shuffled past, but Brick returned it with one of his own. She looked away.

I staggered over to Brick and watched the whole procedure. When they had passed through the doorway, Brick turned to me.

"Uh...thanks, bro," I said weakly, nodding.

His face contorted into a dark glare again. "Speak for yourself, dumbass," he growled. After a few moments of silence, he shouted, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING, MOVING OUT UNAUTHORIZED LIKE THAT!? YOU'RE LUCKY THAT MITCH SAW YOU SNEAKING OUT AND HAD THE SENSE TO TELL ME! YOU COULD'VE BEEN KILLED HERE, YOU FREAKING FUCKTARD!" When he was done, he was breathing heavily and looked about ready to explode.

"Harsh, bro," was all I could say. That set him off again:

"HARSH!? YOU CALL THIS HARSH!? WELL LISTEN HERE YOU THICKHEADED BASTARD, I'VE BARELY EVEN STARTED! YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST MARCH IN AND OUT DAMN WELL AS YOU PLEASE―"

"Please, Brick; I can hear you shouting from outside," a new voice sounded.

We both turned to see one of our brothers, Bandit. He was greeting Elmer as he walked in the door.

Brick turned on him. "I DON'T GIVE A DAMN IF YOU CAN HEAR ME OUTSIDE! I'M TRYING TO―"

"I know very well what you're trying to do," Bandit said calmly, placing a hand on Brick's shoulder. "But if you don't mind, you could very well do it in a calmer manner."

Brick huffed, stabbing the clean blade the girl had dropped into the desk. "...Fine," he scowled, glaring at nothing in particular.

Bandit smiled, before turning to me. "And as for you, Butch..." He walked over to me.

"Uhh...yes?" I asked, trying not to sound nervous.

Bandit sighed. "Relax; I won't kill you or anything. Here; sit down."

I took a seat.

Bandit crouched down as well, pulling out some bandages. He cleaned out my wound, causing me to wince. "Hold still," he said sharply, wrapping the bandages around my arm. Then he applied his hands and they began to glow purple as he began using his healing powers.

Brick sighed, watching us. He had calmed down. Making his way over to me, he began to help heal as well.

And we just sat there, three brothers, in silence as a purple glow and a red glow lit up the darkened, ruined office.

So yeah, just another taste! I don't know if I plan on writing second previews for any the other fics, but I might. nun

Please review! I really want to hear if you like the idea of "Hunters" as much as I do! ;u;/
