Chapter 11
Kagome slowly walked down the hallway to the study. Him walked silently behind her. Two of his arms were crossed and the other two sat on his waist. He towered over her as he walked. He was a good seven feet tall which was like two feet taller than her. Many servants wouldn't even look at them, they were so afraid. It was funny because Him only looked down at her. She wondered what the ancient being was thinking. Then a thought crossed her mind. How come he chose to lie in her? Her brows frowned as she thought about it. It didn't make sense to choose her unless he knew he would be awakened. Had he planned this? Did he know that she would be in the situation with Inuyasha and Naraku? And if he had, what was he planning to do? Not that she could stop it, but in fact she trusted the ancient being with her life. He only wanted what was best for her. Even when she was passed the point where Naraku could train her, Him had made her wait it out. He had told her to wait till his guard was dropped before attacking. That was why it was easy to trust Him. He hadn't done anything to hurt her so far.
Him walked behind his host silently. Her thoughts filled his head as he ignored the hateful and fearful glares from youkai. He wasn't planning to do anything to anyone except of few lords if they crossed his host. But there were things he needed to tell her. Before he allowed the Inu to go any further, he wanted her to know everything. If they had children, they wouldn't be normal. He honestly wasn't sure what she would do but then again he didn't know what he would do either. She would always come first for two reasons. One, he resided in her. That was home and he liked it in there. Two, she was something special. It didn't matter that she used to be the face of purity and innocence. She was his now. She belonged only to his dark nature. And he would make sure everyone knew that she was precious.
As they walked to study, Kagome knocked on the door softly.
"Enter."
She entered into the clean study. Her eyes fell on the two royals before bowing neck high at the two. Him eyed them both as another pair of eyes appeared over the other two. He would be watching. Nodding to them, he followed his host to the furthest cushions on the table. They were to the left of Sesshomaru. Him sat down first and Kagome sat in his lap. They had to be close. It was necessary. They were that accustomed to each other, that it was odd if one wasn't near. Especially in trying times like these. Kagome could regulate Him. Him could help Kagome. Him folded his top two arms. The other set played with the flames he could create and combed through his long ashen gray tresses. It pooled behind his form thickly.
Sesshomaru and Lord Yao watched with curiosity.
Sesshomaru was curious because of their position. They were closer than he originally thought.
Lord Yao was curious because there was a human woman with Him. And by the marks on her face, she was well respected and precious to Him. The message was clear. She was truly foolish to allow one such as Him to reside in her body. He had caused so much destruction in the years he was out and about. His father had told him stories of Him. He was powerful and blood thirsty. No one could control him. Yet here he sat with a human woman silently combing his hair. His eyes looked at the girl. She was dark and everything about her said stay away. But then it dawned on him who it was. The Shikon Miko was Him's host? Flabbergasted, Lord Yao decided right there to be wary of her.
Kagome took in the Northern Lord Yao with a sigh. He was a tan horse youkai. Long gold hair flowed in ponytail that was tied at the nap of his neck. Yellow eyes looked at her with a disapproving look but she didn't care. What was he going to do against her? But not only her, there was Sesshomaru and Him. She really didn't want to be the person that had to face Him. Yao was muscular in a horse like way. A long beautiful tail gently moved from side to side in thought. His hands were tucked into his gold and red hoari. His symbol, the sun, was proudly displayed on his forehead with a red shimmer. Nodding at the details she had taken in, Kagome closed her eyes.

It high noon and the other two lords had arrived. From what Him had gathered neither of them liked humans. And women even less. As they walked in greeting Sesshomaru, their eyes fell to her in a look of disdain and hatred. Kagome simply rolled her eyes. Him narrowed all of his eyes in warning. They both seemed shocked at the being that held the girl like she was treasure. The marks on her face told them she was favored by Him.
Lord Zou was a dragon youkai. Green scales that covered most of his body glittered with annoyance. Blue eyes looked at the girl with hatred. Black hair was up in a high ponytail and stopped at the back of his knees. Zou was stocky. He looked buff but skinny at the same time. A green tail was wrapped around his waist carefully. His hands were tucked into his blue and green hoari. His symbol, a flame, danced on his forehead constantly. He was the Southern Lord. Those blue eyes looked at Him with weariness. He knew all about Him. He had destroyed millions of lives and felt no remorse. Why would this human girl allow him to reside in her? Was she stupid? He rolled his eyes. All humans and especially women were stupid.
Lord Xang was a wolf youkai. Sandy brown fur was on random parts of his body. Brown eyes looked at the girl superiorly. Sandy brown hair flowed down to his shoulders with elegance. Xang was slender but looked powerful. His wolf tail switched from side to side in boredom and annoyance. His hands were across his brown and tan hoari. His symbol, a moon, shined with pride. He was the Eastern Lord. Xang's eyes looked at Him with annoyance. Who did this male think he was? He was the great Xang. The conqueror of many. He dared the thing to even try and touch him. And why was he with a human? And a woman no less? Was he stupid or bored?
"We are all here." Sesshomaru stated placidly.
"Yes indeed we are." Zou hissed, his eyes looked at Kagome.
"Sesshomaru, who is this human girl and why does she sit beside you proudly?" Xang asked disturbed.
"This is the Shikon Miko, Kagome. She is my head advisor and will remain that way." He spoke warningly.
"And the creature behind her?" Xang hissed.
"You have not heard of me? I know not what to say. But either way you will respect me or your life will be mine." Him chuckled darkly.
Kagome patted his arm.
"You girl, you have allowed Him to reside you. Are you that unintelligent?" Zou asked.
Kagome looked at Sesshomaru before replying. "I believe Sesshomaru-sama has told you my name Lord Zou. And until you can use it and ask a rather important question, I will not answer." She said sharply.
Zou was surprised.
Kagome hadn't looked away from Sesshomaru before she spoke again. "Him and I are leaving to go check on the children. Just call if you need me." She said being picked up by two of Him's arms and set on the ground.
As she began to walk to the door, she heard a fist slam on the table.
"You insolent wench. How dare you disrespect us?" Zou growled.
"Oh please Zou, your father was present when I wiped out most the dragons. Do you want to take his place and watch as I kill every single one of them again?" Four eyes narrowed.
Zou said nothing.
"I thought not." Him said nudging his host on.
"Kagome," Sesshomaru called.
Kagome's placid eyes looked up to the young lord.
"Yes, Sesshomaru-sama?"
"This one would like you to go to the Ladies. Converse with them and be respectful." He said with a hidden meaning. What he really said was, 'Go to the ladies and do not allow them to rile you up.'
Kagome nodded before Him and her walked out the room.

Kagome and Him walked out the palace to see the three ladies sitting under one of the many trees in the garden. Each sat on a cushion drinking tea. She watched as the horse youkai looked up at the sense of danger. As her orange eyes looked at her, Kagome bowed neck high. The horse was much like her husband. Tan skin, long gold hair. In fact they all looked like their mates. It was rather strange. The dragon and wolf ladies looked up at the dangerous presence with a sneer.
"You dare disturb us, you insolent human?" The wolf barked.
Kagome said nothing and Him narrowed his eyes.
"Call down Tenine. There is no reason to get worked up." The horse sighed.
"Shut your mouth Koi. She dares to bring such a presence to us and you tell me to calm down." Tenine, the Lady of the East growled.
Lady Koi rolled her eyes. "Heniata, please leave the girl alone." She spoke to the dragon.
Heniata rolled her eyes before taking sip of tea.
Koi looked at the human girl with knowing eyes.
"What business do you have here?" Koi asked softly.
Him disappeared taking Kagome and sitting at the end of the cushions. She was in his lap once more.
"You must be Lady Koi." Kagome bowed lowly. "My name is Kagome. I am the Shikon Miko." She intorduced calmly.
"Oh my! It is you! You are very brave for going up against the spider hanyou." Koi smiled.
Kagome chuckled darkly. "Naraku was at one point my master. Thanks to him, I no longer physically feel pain. But it was time to rid the world of his miserable existence. The jewel is in my body safely away from any magic and now me and my son are living here." She said softly.
"You are a liar. Everybody feels pain and you smell pure. How could you have a child?" Tenine barked.
"If you don't believe me, come dig your claws into me if you would like. And as for my child he is a fox kit I have adopted." Kagome stated.
Tenine stood and walked over to the calm sitting Kagome. She would prove that the girl was lying. Kagome looked up at Him with a plea. Him rolled all four of his eyes as he would allow her to make her point. Tenine chose her shoulder. Kagome wondered why everyone chose her shoulder but wasn't really bothered as a claw was pressed into her skin. She sat there as black blood slipped down her shoulder ruining the beautiful kimono. Tenine was amazed but not convinced. So as she pushed harder, she waited for a plea or a yelp but she never got one. She truly couldn't feel pain?
The Lords appeared before the Ladies quickly.
Sesshomaru eyes looked at Kagome before Him.
"Tenine what are you doing? Remove your finger. Her blood is tainted with his." Xang growled.
Quickly Tenine pulled out her finger and rushed over to her mate. They both glared at Kagome and Him.
"You insolent wench. You did not tell me your blood was poisoned." Tenine growled.
Kagome shrugged. "You didn't ask."
Him chuckled darkly. "By now, it is slowly eating away at the flesh around your finger. And it was only a little bit of blood. Now imagine you making her bleed profusely. The skin on your finger will not ever grow back. It will remain a bone and nothing can change that but me."
"You will fix my mate's finger." Xang hissed lowly.
"I will not do anything." Him smiled.
Xang looked to his mate, who was watching the skin on her finger fall off layer upon layer onto the ground. Tenine watched in horror as her skin fell away. Her eyes drifted to the little dark woman that had said nothing. Xang looked at the woman with a strange glare. She had tricked his mate. And she sat there as if nothing was wrong when it was. Xang felt something he hadn't felt in a long time. Fear. He was afraid of what they could do. If blood could remove skin, what could strength do? Xang looked at his mate in an understanding.
"Tenine, I want you to apologize to Kagome-san and Him." Xang said softly.
Tenine looked from her finger into her mates eyes. Fear was shining in them and that was something she hadn't ever seen. Nodding slowly at the things that were playing in her mates head, she looked to the dark woman and Him with a bow.
"Forgive me Kagome-san and Him. I did not mean to offend." Tenine stated softly.
Him let out a puff of red steam. Instead of it disappearing like vapor, he held it in his hand for a moment before throwing it at her. It burned her eyes for a moment before everything was calm. She looked over herself to see the skin on her finger back. In all its glory, her skin finger and come back even softer. And as she was about to look up and thank them, they were gone.

Kagome watched Shippo train with one of the guards. Her kit had grown powerful and it suited the family. As her eyes drifted to the many young females watching her kit, she couldn't help but let out a growl and some red steam. Who did these girls think they were? None of them would have her kit and she would make sure of it. Evil intentions were coming off their beings and Kagome wasn't havening that.
Shippo's ear twitched at the sound his mother had made. And with the last blow it that was dealt between the two, Shippo slowly walked over to his mother. She kissed his forehead and ignored the sweat as they began to walk off to the separate gardens. Silently, they sat under the Sakura tree and watched some of the petals fall away. Kagome was the first to speak up.
"How was training?" She asked softly.
"It was fine." Shippo nodded.
Kagome nodded back. "I'm sorry Shippo. I left you to survive on your own. But I never stopped thinking about you. Every time Naraku drew blood or broke my bones, I had you in mind. I wanted to come back stronger for you. I'm sorry Kikyo tried to impose on you and I wasn't there to stop it. I love you very much my son."
Shippo took in her words with a smile. "Okan-san, you know as well as I do, I do not blame you. I had really hoped you would come back for me. Every day, training with Sesshomaru-sama and tutor-sama, I had you in mind. I wanted to get stronger so when you came back, I could protect you. You are my Okan-san. Even Him is like a Jii-san." Shippo chuckled.
Kagome smiled and hugged her kit close.
"Miko," Sesshomaru spoke up.
Kagome looked up at the young lord with knowing eyes.
"Shippo can you go check on Rin? You two are to meet met me at sun down."
Shippo nodded before hugging her once more and bowing to his lord. He took off into the building to go check on something precious.
"Lord Sesshomaru." Kagome bowed neck high.
"Miko," He repeated.
Kagome rolled her eyes. "I'm not a miko anymore."
"Hn." He stated sitting beside her.
"If this is about this afternoon, tell Lady Tenine Him accepts her apology but next time he won't be so kind." She nodded.
Sesshomaru nodded before closing his eyes.
Kagome looked at the male next to her. Something was drawing her closer. What was it? Her heart began to beat faster and harder. Her hand held her chest and she tried to calm it but it didn't work. What was it? She hadn't felt this organ in long time. What was triggering it now? Her eyes drifted to the male looking at her. His intense gaze was causing her heart to jump faster. This couldn't be happening. Sesshomaru was the cause of this? She couldn't do this. Not now, not ever again. Before she could get up and move, Sesshomaru had her hand and pulled her closer. His eyes bore into her placid ones.
"Kagome," He breathed.
His lips were a few inches from hers.
"Sesshomaru," She whispered before letting her lips touch his.
And before he could kiss her back, she disappeared.
She was just as affected by him as he was by her. A small smile appeared on his face. She would be his. Him had asked him to help her before she became unreachable. Looks like the road to that happening was being walked on already by him. He would replace everything. Naraku and Inuyasha had done their damage. Now it was time for her to have damage control. Oh this was going to be interesting.
