The adults, and the remainder of the original team members and Zatanna, made it to the hospital in record time. Their worry for the boys could not possibly healthy.

Blüdhaven General was a dump. It worried them even more to find out that Dick was being treated here. Right now though, that wasn't their main concern. Their main concern was the fact Dick had to be treated at a hospital. Dinah knew for a fact that in their line of work, injuries were part of the deal. She herself taught Roy many things about the medical field, and she knew that Wally knew a fair amount.

She desperately wished that whatever happened to Dick wasn't serious. She didn't think that Roy or Wally could take much more loss.

They were about to enter the front doors when Kaldur suddenly halted them.

"Stop." He said. Unbeknownst to the adults, the team plus Jason and Tim had set up a mind link, and were conversing the whole trip to the sorry excuse for a hospital. They had agreed that they didn't want the boys to run off again, all because of the sheer panic of seeing their parents.

"Kaldur, please." Iris said getting agitated. It's almost the deadline of the horrible "prophecy" Bart had told them about. She wanted to make sure Wally was alright.

"We have to go check on the boys." She reminded the Atlantean.

"Exactly Iris." Artemis said cutting in. She and Wally have been together long enough for her to be on a first name basis with Barry and Iris.

"For us to be able to check on them, we actually have to talk to them. Meaning they shouldn't run off because of panic." She explained further.

"Look, we know that you're worried, trust me we are too, but the last time you confronted them, they ran off. We just need to be able to calm them down." Tim said, reminding the adults of what exactly happened. He didn't want to, but frankly, this was the only way they'd let them see the boys first.

The adults looked at one another. The kids were right. Would it really be so bad if they let them talk to the boys first? They finally sighed.

"Alright. We'll wait for you to give us a signal." Diana said, resigned. Honestly, she didn't see the harm that could come from this. If Wally, Roy, and possibly Dick, were calm, they could fix this faster.

"Thank you. We'll have M'gann send you a telepathic signal." Conner said, truly grateful. This might actually work. They might be able to fix this. They could get the Terrible Trio back.

With that final reminder, the young heroes went into the hospital. There was a woman at the reception desk. She had a small build, dirty blonde hair that was tied in a bun, and she was chewing gum.

Again the team felt that this wasn't the best place for Dick to be treated. Nonetheless, they approached the desk with hopeful faces.

"We're here to see Dick Grayson." M'gann asked in a voice the others hadn't heard since her break up with Conner. It was sweet, patient, and hopeful. A part of them missed that M'gann. Truth be told, they just missed the times when things were simpler, when everyone was still alive and well.

The receptionist looked up at the former and current members of the Young Justice team. Her bored green eyes stared at them.

"Are any of you family?" She asked in a southern accent.

Tim immediately stepped forward. "I am." He said. "He's my brother. I'm Tim Drake-Wayne." He would've mentioned Jason, but he was still legally dead. He looked to Jason sending him the silent apology. Jason looked back at him with understanding eyes, conveying that there was nothing to apologize for.

The receptionist stared at Tim for a few seconds before nodding to herself.

"He still in surgery." She said, reading from the computer. Surgery? The team's hearts plummeted. What could've happened for him to need surgery?

"You can just wait in the waiting room with the two boys. She said before retuning to whatever she was doing. The team made their way to the waiting room. Just as they had suspected, Wally and Roy were the "boys" the receptionist mentioned.

They looked to each other and M'gann set up the mind link once more.

"Who's going to talk to them?" Jason asked. There could be no mistakes this time. Frankly, if no one was willing, he would do it himself. He was beyond worried about Dick's condition. He made a promise to himself, not long after he and Bruce made up, that he would make things right with his older brother. He was going to do everything he could to keep that promise.

Artemis volunteered. "I'll do it. Maybe Wally will calm down if he knows it's me." She was just about to approach them when Zatanna stopped her.

"Wait." She said. "What if the reason he panics is because it's you. I mean, he must have a reason from keeping this from you. I'm not as close to Roy and Wally as I am with Dick. Maybe they won't freak out that way." She suggested. Honestly, she knew what it was like to hide things because you thought it made you look weak.

The team let Zatanna's logic sink in before they agreed with her.

Zatanna took a deep breath and strode over to Wally and Roy. "Guys?" she asked quietly.

The two gingers were sitting next to each other on waiting chairs. They both looked exhausted. Bags under their already red-rimmed eyes, their posture sagged slightly, and she noticed that it took them longer than usual to react to her voice.

Wally and Roy's eyes widened fro a fraction of a second before going back to their normal size. They weren't that surprised. They knew that the minute they confirmed that it was indeed Dick Grayson they were checking in, they would be found.

They just didn't expect Zatanna and –presumably– the rest of the team to be the ones to find them. They didn't know if it was because they were emotionally drained, or because they just really didn't care anymore, but they hugged her. They hugged her for all it's worth.

Zatanna felt an intense amount of relief, and dread, when they hugged her. Relief because they would be able to confront them, and dread because Dick's condition could be very serious for them to hug her like this. Nevertheless, she hugged them back with as much emotion.

The team, seeing them hug like that, took that as their cue to show themselves. Wally and Roy opened their eyes, in hearing the footsteps. Wally let go of Zatanna and ran to Artemis. He wasn't sure how she felt about him at the moment, but he just really wanted to hug her.

To his delight, she hugged him back; she hugged him as if this whole mess hasn't happened. He was so grateful he cried tears of joy.

"Don't ever do that to me again Baywatch, do you hear me?" Artemis told him, also crying with tears of joy.

They separated from their hug and looked into each other's eyes. "No promises." He half-joked. He didn't know what would happen today, so he wasn't going to promise something he can't follow through with.

"My friend!" Kaldur said, relieved, as he strode over to Roy. "It is good to see you." He said giving him a bro hug.

Roy, even through his shock, returned the hug. "Thanks Kal." He whispered, and he really meant it.

"Guys, what happened to Dick?" Tim asked, concern shining in his eyes.

And just like that, the relieved atmosphere was gone, replaced with a worried and fearful one. Roy and Wally exchanged glances. Was there really a point in hiding it from them now? Clearly they were informed of why they were missing, so maybe, it was time to stop hiding.

With heavy sighs, the two gingers motioned for them to take a seat.

Wally relayed what had happened in the past few hours, starting from when Dick was having a nightmare. When he was done, he and Roy studied their friends' faces.

Each of their faces showed horror and concern. Zatanna stifled a gasp when Wally told them about how he found Dick. It was horrible, and she felt extremely guilty. She knew that she shouldn't be guilty, but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel like she should've done something more. Dick could die, not knowing that she loved him.

M'gann moved to comfort Zatanna, who was sitting beside her. She hugged the Mistress of Magic, and whispered soothing words. She, herself, was at a loss. She didn't think that things were this bad. She struggled to keep the tears at bay. Dick, Wally, and Roy don't deserve this. They have suffered enough in their lives.

Jason was growing more worried by the minute. Dick was going to make it out of this. He has to. Dick has to make it, he still needs to apologize to his big brother, he still needed to see his face when he tells him that he's coming home. Jason kept trying to reassure himself, kept telling himself that everything would be okay, but it wasn't working. Somewhere in Jason's mind, the realistic part, he felt that Dick might not make it. He felt thin arms hug his waist. He looked down and saw this Tim had buried his face in his chest and started crying. He put an arm around him. He would make it, the fierce part of his mind shouted. He wouldn't leave him and Tim.

Tim looked like he was about to break down –it wasn't an unlikely possibility. His brother could die, and there was nothing he could do about it. He should've noticed. He should've done a lot of things…but he didn't. And he hates himself for it. Dick had been the one who supported him in everything, and now he was going to lose him too. He wrapped his arms around Jason and buried his face in his chest. He didn't realize he was sobbing until Jason started rubbing his back.

Artemis was shell-shocked. She couldn't believe it. Dick couldn't have done that; he couldn't have gone through that. Not her sweet, trolling little brother. She wanted to break down, to scream at the world that nobody deserved this, especially Dick, Wally, and Roy. But then, she saw Wally's face. She couldn't do that now. She had to be strong, for the both of them. She scooted closer to Wally, and wrapped her arms around him, murmuring reassurances that she, herself, didn't believe.

Conner was angry. Yes, he was worried. Yes, he felt guilty. But, his anger overshadowed the other emotions. He wasn't mad at Dick though, he wasn't mad at anyone but himself. He remembers all the things he said to Dick ever since he found out about the plan, and he regretted them more than ever. He knew enough about depression to know that his actions affected Dick greatly. Why couldn't he just have kept his mouth shut? Why couldn't he have just thought for a moment, and considered where Dick was coming from?

Kaldur kept his face calm. He showed emotion, but not enough to know what was really going on inside. He was screaming. His brothers needed him and he couldn't see it. If he kept calm, maybe he could help them, maybe he could make it up to them for not seeing that they needed his help. This defense mechanism was something he learned from Nightwing himself. He told him that even if you're emotions were raging inside of you, you have be controlled on the outside; otherwise, you'd be no help to anyone.

They were all just sitting there taking in what Wally told them when it happened. Conner suddenly took a sharp intake if breath. Everyone looked, and saw that he had blanched. It takes a lot to shake Conner, this stirred up even more emotions in everyone.

M'gann moved towards him. "Conner what's wrong?" She asked urgently, and worriedly.

Conner looked like he was still getting over shock, but he was able to give them an answer. "He-he….flat lined." he said disbelievingly. Once he said it, he snapped ot of his shock, just in time to react to what happened next.

It all happened simultaneously, but the team was able to respond. Conner and Artemis, knowing Wally, immediately restrained him. He was already in running position when Conner got a hold of him.

He struggled for all it's worth. "NO! LET ME GO!" He screamed. The sheer amount of pain in his voice made Artemis release a few tears. Artemis stayed in front of Wally trying to calm him down, while Conner restrained him.

"Wally, you have to calm down." She said trying to regain her composure, but even she could hear the quiver in her voice.

"NO, DICK! DICK!" He screamed, with renewed tears leaking out of his eyes. He wasn't dead! Dammit his baby brother wasn't dead! He started sobbing again, falling to his knees in defeat.

Conner and Artemis hugged him, trying to calm him down. Artemis was crying with Wally. She knew that the doctors were trying to revive him, but she can't help but let the fear consume her.

Roy turned to a wall and punched it, leaving a crater. He let out a sob. Dick's heart stopped, he's literally dead, and Roy can feel the pain as if it was his own heart that had stopped. Kaldur put a hand on his shoulder. "Roy, you must calm down." Kaldur said, trying to knock some sense into him. He knows it's a futile attempt, but he can't let Roy have a breakdown. Not now.

"I can't." He said through gritted teeth. "Kal, that's Dick in there. And right now he's dead. Our baby bird is dead." He said dejectedly. He gave up his resolve; he started sobbing.

"No." Kaldur said, being firm but gentle. "There's still a chance, the doctors will revive him." He said. He looked at Roy, conveying the silent message not to lose hope.

"Kal, I promised to protect him. I'm his big brother, it's my job, and I failed him."

Kaldur didn't know what to say to that anymore.

Tim was having a breakdown, and Jason wasn't far behind. Tim was sinking to his knees, an anguished look on his face. Jason was trying his best to keep his composure, Tim needed him and he wasn't going to fail him.

"Tim, Tim." He said trying to get his brother's attention. "Tim, look at me."

"Jay, he flat lined." He croaked. He looked so broken; Jason didn't know what to do.

"I know Tim. But Dick's stubborn. You'll see he'll bounce back, he always does." He said comfortingly.

Tim slowly turned to look at him. "But Jay, what if he doesn't?" he whispered. Jason turned sheet white. Of course he knew there was a chance that Dick could stay dead, but he didn't want to accept it.

"He won't." Jason said. He let Tim continue to cry in his arms. Dick please come back, Big Bird I need you.

Zatanna didn't go into denial; she went straight to mourning. She sobbed in her hands, falling to the chair behind her. She felt M'gann rub circles behind her back.

"He's dead! He's dead." She sobbed. It hurt. It hurt so much. There was a gaping hole in her heart.

"Zatanna listen to me." M'gann said, though her voice was shaking. She had tears streaming down her face. Everyone's emotions were affecting her, and she was consumed with more grief than she thought possible.

"It's not over, there's still a chance. They can still save him." She tried to tell her.

"I love him so much!" she cried. It wasn't fair! Why does Dick have to suffer? Why him, when all he's done was think of others? M'gann could do nothing but continue to comfort her.

Conner was still listening in on the doctors.

"CLEAR!" he heard them say. He could hear Dick's body be shocked, trying to restart his heart. He kept on listening, no matter how painful. He needed to know. It took five tries, but he finally heard it.

"He's back." He heard one of the doctors say.

He couldn't contain the pure relief he felt, he stood up and laughed in relief. They didn't lose him!

"He's alive." He told the others joyfully. He watched as the others let out sighs of relief, and occasionally, a sob of relief. He watched as the others let go of their grief, and let it be replaced with hopeful, and even more worried emotions.

They finally settled down, when they heard bounding footsteps. The team stiffened, this was it. They would have to face the problem now. Down the hallway, everyone saw the adults, clad in civilian attire, running towards them.
