I think I'm dragging it out a bit much so I think I'll begin to cut to the chase. Again, thank you ligerscool!

Life had been rather dull since Scarletpaw returned, Lightningpaw ( Lightningclaw now) left and Gingerbush went to find her father. The good news was that Scarletpaw earned (not earned in Primrosepaw's opinion) her warrior name so she was in a separate den. The problem was that she enjoyed rubbing it in everyone's face how she, Scarletfur, was a warrior. Lakepaw whispered to her new 'best friend', Swiftpaw, how Scarletfur should be called Dungface. It was really funny at the time.

"Primrosepaw!" Sleekface snapped. "Are you listening?"

"Sorry," she said.

"I said, your warrior assessment is tomorrow, would you like me to go over anything with you?"

"No thanks, Sleekface. If you don't mind, I'd like to hunt for a bit."

"Okay, then. I'll join you."

The cats sat together at the edge of the stream, occasionally catching a fish. Who's ripple-eater now?

"I'll miss this."

"Miss what?"

"Being your mentor of course."

"We'll still be able to do this."

"Yes, but not the same way."

"I guess. But we'll still be friends."

"Of course. I'm not going to let you go that easily you know!"

"Do you miss being an apprentice?" she asked suddenly.

"I miss Freebird, yes. Although I'm closer to him now more than ever I miss him. Did you know that he put off having kits with Webfur until after my training? He was the best cat, Freebird was. And he still is."

"Yes ,he is. Can I ask you something off the topic?"

"Go ahead."

"Why did Duskheart leave?"

Sleekface hesitated before replying, "She wasn't happy here anymore. She made a stupid mistake in her life."

"What was that mistake?"

"I couldn't betray her trust, Primrosepaw. I'm sorry. But I will tell you this," she added, "you're lucky that you have a she-cat for a mentor and a she-cat as your best friend."

The rest of the day, Primrosepaw mused over what her mentor had said.

"Beware the flame that touches tour heart."

Primrosepaw shook it off. It was really irritating her. She went outside and chose a bird from the fresh-kill pile. New-leaf was here so no ice could stop her from becoming a warrior now. Swiftpaw was talking animatedly to Driftpaw and beckoned her to join them.

"Hi Primrosepaw! We were just discussing what our warrior names would be. I want to be called Swiftflight or Swiftleaf, after my parents."

"More like Swifteater!" Driftpaw teased. "I'm going to be called Driftstorm! It's the coolest name ever."

"Swiftflight's way better!"

"No way! What about you, Primrosepaw?"

"Umm, I think I'll let Fernstar decide."

"Oh, come on. If you got to choose?" Driftpaw asked.

"Then maybe Primroseprickle or Primrosespike after my brothers. Or maybe Primroselightning after my Windclan friend."

Swiftpaw whispered something to Driftpaw and they both laughed.

"What's so funny? I think their good names! Even Primrosetwilight after my other Windclan friend would be cool! And yes, I know they sound far fetched but it would be cool."

"Sure, after your Windclan friends."

It took Primrosepaw a moment to realize what they meant.

"Oh, no! You don't think that do you? Please tell me you're not!"

Her friends shot looks at each other, meaning they definitely were.

"Lightningclaw is my friend. My adopted brother! And if you think-"

"Sorry, to interrupt," Horsepaw said awkwardly, "we're about to start."

The cats shuffled off and began.

"I did so well!" Driftpaw purred. "Three fish, a dove and a vole!"

"It's not that impressive," Horsepaw told his sister.

Primrosepaw was the last one back. But with a respectable share. Two fish, two birds, a mouse and even a frog(she thought it was a vole but it was still prey).

Sleekface congratulated her and told her to eat and get some rest before her vigil that night. Driftpaw and Swiftpaw were already asleep, with full bellies. Primrosepaw joined them and instantly slept. No mysteries words clouded her mind that afternoon.

She woke to Sleekface whispering to her. "You've been a good apprentice, and I hope you'll be a good denmate."

Driftpaw, Moonpaw, Horsepaw, Swiftpaw and their mentors waited beside Fernstar. Fernstar called the summoning and began:

"Are you satisfied that your apprentices have earned their warrior names?"

"Yes."

"Of course."

"Definitely."

"She has."

"Certainly." Sleekface winked at her as she said it.

"Horsepaw, Swiftpaw, Primrosepaw, Moonpaw and Driftpaw come forward please. I, Fernstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in turn.

"Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your lives? "

"I do." Horsepaw said clearly.

"I do!" the rest chorused.

"Then by the power of StarClan I give you your warrior names. Horsepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Horseflight. StarClan honors you for your bravery and courage. Driftpaw, StarClan honors you for your spirit and your enthusiasm. You shall be known as Driftmoth. Swiftpaw," Primrosepaw thought her turn would not come even though she knew that she would be last. "StarClan honors you for your forethought and your honesty. You will be known as Swiftwing. Moonpaw, StarClan honors you for your skill and patience. You shall be called Moonshine. And Primrosepaw,"

She almost burst with anticipation.

"StarClan honors you for your kindness and cleverness. You shall now be known as Primrosebutterfly.'
