Chapter 10
The reason this was updated so late was because another week long trip. And then another visit to AZ
Hey! I didn't think anybody would actually remember and like this story /-v-/ Thank you for the wonderful reviews! They really encourage me to continue writing heh... Also, I will answer back to reviews, but through private messaging. Unless there's a problem with that. Just tell me if there is.
Oh! And hello Guest! (MinishVioletShadow) It has, but it's been longer that I've updated heh. It is hard to imagine Vaati with a braid, but I got inspiration from a drawing of him with one, let's just say he's very pretty haha.
Blue
When Blue had heard that they were going to go on a hike, a long and three mile hike, he was instantly relieved. Ecstatic, even, for Blue loved doing the strenuous work that helped his muscles. Not brain muscles though, books could get lost for all he cared. And looking at the geysers in the hot sun, on boring plank walks, got a bit old after a while, and he needed a refreshing hike to boost him right back up.
There was one problem though: The rest of his group. Now Green would love this hike, he had suggested it in the first place. Red was full of lots of energy, like a child, but still Blue wasn't sure how he'd handle the long, up-hill, walk. He'd just have to watch over the cute boy to make sure he'd be alright. Vio, (Blue snickered) was not exactly scrawny, but he wasn't fit. More for the studying and sitting down, but Vio would still not complain and just do his best, like the perfect boy he is. Blue pushed those thoughts aside, and wondered how Vaati would do, he wasn't sure if he fully trusted that guy yet. Guess he'd find out if Vaati was fit or not now. Shadow on the other hand, was just lazy, even if he is strong.
Blue had head out to find out where about the location of the hike was, and what it looked like. He couldn't even see the end, and it went to the top of the mountain-hill! Feeling more ready for this, he had driven back to find that Vaati had set up all of the backpacks for the next day, hair in a braid. ?, where really his only understandable thoughts at that moment, and the rest of the group, minus Green, seemed to be the same way. Even so, he still took a seat in front of the toasty fire and said his hellos. It suddenly went quiet after that.
There was hardly any words said between all the boys, and Blue did not have any clue why. It really pissed him off, was it really all over a braid? That seemed really stupid to get so upset about. He was going to get to the bottom of this, and who knew Vaati the best? Shadow, the sneaky bastard was doing something was his pocketknife and wood right now, sitting close to Vio as usual.
Blue cleared his throat, unsure of how to do this, "It looks like we're running low on firewood, doesn't it?" Not a complete lie, they could use one more box, for a late night and tomorrow. "You're right, we could use some more." Green replied, and stood up to search a bag on the table. "Mind getting us some more?" He asked and extended a hand with some money to Blue. "Yeah I'll do it," Blue shrugged, and subtly looked over a Shadow. "Shad," Blue snapped, getting his attention "Why don't you come along?"
"Eh?" Shadow looked at Blue, confused.
"Come." Blue said, much more stern this time.
"Okay I guess."
Shadow stood up, shoved his stuff into the pocket of his hoodie, and scurried to catch up with Blue. "I'm assuming there's a reason ya wanted me to come, right?" Shadow glanced back, deciding they were far enough to talk.
Blue nodded, "Yup, Vaati."
"Ahhh, of course." Shadow chuckled under his breath, "Is it the braid?"
"Exactly that!" He threw his arms in the air, "Everybody seems to be so fazed by that! What's the big deal about it anyway?"
Shadow scratched and rubbed the back of his neck out of habit, "Right... You weren't there. See, the thing is, Green braided his hair. Like, really sensually too."
Blue blinked, "Oh, why get so worked up about that though?" He didn't see it as that big. "Okay, maybe it's kinda really strange but still, they just bonded over it really."
He let out a short sigh, and shook his head "Dammit, you don't know bout that either..." Shadow groaned, "Might as well not sugar coat it, Vaati likes Green."
"Wait..." Blue stopped walking, "Like... Like that like?"
Shadow just nodded and continued moving towards the office, leaving Blue to jog up to him. Blue had no idea what to say, he simply stood there like he'd seen a ghost while Shadow bought the firewood. It made no sense, and yet. No. He could not understand how. "W-why? And when? How long have you known about this, how long have the others know about this?!" Blue blurted out, halfway back to their campsite, unable to contain it any longer.
"I dunno why, just that he does, and like a month before prom I found out. Vio found out a little after, by evesdropping," Shadow hissed and Blue rolled his eyes, "Nice."
"Red just figured it out, but got confirmation from, us after we saw Green doin' Vaati's hair. And now ya know." He finished, and shoved the box higher up on his chest to get a better grip on his.
"Weird."
"I know right."
"What are we gonna do about it?" Blue asked. Normally, he would tell the person to 'man-up' and confess their feelings but since it was Vaati, he had no idea.
"No clue, guess we just let 'em mess around a bit and see how it goes." He lowered his voice as they approached the tent "If it goes south, or nothin happens, then we should step in." As soon as they stepped out into view, his expression changed to a sly smile, "Hello~" Shadow set the wood down and pecked Vio's head, before sparking up conversation like nothing had happened. Shadow seemed to be good at that.
Blue sat down awkwardly, and tried not to look at Vaati and Green who were discussing something. "Hi Blue, how did it go?" Red's cheerful voice broke Blue's train of thought, and he tried to smile naturally.
"Oh uh, good. Yup."
Red furrowed his eyebrows, "Are you sure? You seem..."
"Yeah I'm great!" Blue cut in, placing a firm hand on the smaller boy's head. "We'll talk about it later." He said through grit teeth, glancing in Vaati and Green's direction to give Red an idea of what he was thinking about.
"Ooh" Thankfully Red got the idea and leaned back in his chair, smiling at Blue. "Okie dokie!"
Blue grumbled about Red's word choice, but was only ignored. "So you excited for tomorrow?" Red tilted his head, expression full of curiosity and gleefulness. He was such an adorable kid sometimes. Actually he always was.
"I am, it's about time we did something actually active." He huffed and crossed his arms, not caring how true that was or wasn't.
"We have been doing active stuff!" Red argued, pouting his lips "But I am ready for a fun hike!" He went back to grinning at Blue, swinging his legs and often hitting his ground with his feet.
"That's good." Blue nodded along, paying attention to Green placing hand on Vaati's knee to use as leverage to get back into his chair, after placing a log down. "Whoa."
I am so so so sorry this is late and silly. Next chapter is about the hike, and then they'll be getting back home n stuff. Okay, love you guys, thank you for all the wonderful things you commented!
