AN: Thanks to all those who reviewed favourites or follows, the list is getting too long to type out now; yay! I cannot believe how popular this is, but there has got to be at least one person out there that wants me to improve on something. Make yourself heard! Please review!
I looked at Greg 'Hodges thinks you're pregnant. You are so screwed, the whole lab will know by lunchtime.' Greg told me grinning
I sighed 'I know.' Work tomorrow was going to be fun...
I was right. The second I walked into the lab, followed by Greg, everyone around me started muttering and looking at me curiously.
'I am going to kill Hodges.' I stated under my breath glaring at everyone looking my way.
Greg chuckled 'If looks could kill I don't think he would be the only victim.'
I huffed.
Greg rolled his eyes and said 'Come on M, it could be worse.'
'How?' I asked him skeptically
'You could not be engaged to someone as awesome as me.' He whispered in my ear. His hands on my shoulders.
I smiled.
But then it hit me, I'm engaged, how are we going to tell everyone. No-one knew that we were even together. What if people thought it was too soon? Would there be rumors of us? Would one of us get transferred or fired….
'M are you okay? You look really pale.' Greg asked me concerned walking around me so we were facing each other.
I started to tremble and turned away, looking at the floor 'Greg, how are we going to tell people? We took a three day break as friends. Now we come back and we're getting married and have a six year old daughter. What will people think?' I asked him very quickly in a hushed voice.
He took both of my hands in his and turned me towards him so we were facing each other. I looked up and meet his eyes; I found it impossible to look away. And he murmured 'what does it matter what people think of us? Or how fast our relationship is moving. It's our decision not theirs, what they think doesn't affect us.' His dark eyes never left mine and I found myself becoming more relaxed every second that he held my gaze.
I smiled. What did it matter? We are in love, that's all that matters. 'You're right.' I told him
He grinned 'Nothing new then.'
Now it was my turn to roll my eyes, my smile widening. 'How are we going to tell everyone?'
'You're wearing an engagement ring; let's see how long it takes them to figure it out. They are CSI's.' He said entwining our fingers. 'Come on lets go to the break room.'
When we entered the break room we were in a contented silence swapping small smiles. I sat down on the couch and Greg went over to the coffee pot.
'Do you want a cup of coffee M? I have some Blue Hawaiian.' He asked
'Yeah, I could do with some coffee, I'm so tired.' I replied
'I wonder why that would be?' Nick said suggestively walking into the break room.
I raised my eye brows at him, then gave my attention back to Greg as he sat down next to me and handed me a cup of coffee putting his own onto the table.
'Are you sure you want to drink that?' Nick asked me
I looked at him slightly confused; then looked at Greg, he shrugged his shoulders, he had no idea what Nick was talking about either.
'Didn't you know?' Nick asked in mock surprise 'coffee isn't good for your baby.' He said grinning, it was clear that he didn't believe the rumors.
I grinned 'That's such a shame, I love coffee so much.' I said pretending to cry, burying my head in Greg's shoulder.
He wrapped his arms around me and looked at Nick 'Sorry it's all the pregnancy hormones, she's having wild mood swings.' Greg said in a mock serious voice.
I sat back up Greg's arm remaining around my shoulders. His other hand found mine and entwined our fingers, running his thumb along the back of my hand. 'How many people think I'm pregnant?' I asked Nick resigned for the worst
'Not that many people actually believe it. There are a few that aren't sure though. Most people just think its Hodges spreading rumors with no proof.' Nick told me
'Why do they think that Hodges would spread rumors about me if he didn't believe them?' I asked surprised 'We are good friends.'
Nick smiled 'Well most people think that you and Greg are together.'
'What, how do they know?' Greg asked the grip on my hand tightening for a second.
'It's not that hard to figure out Greggo. You and Morgan obviously had a thing for each other. It was just a matter of time until one of you asked the other one out. And taking three days off together, driving away in the same car. It's not hard to imagine why people thought you were together.' He said grinning.
'Why would being with Greg make Hodges spread rumors about me?' I asked confused
'Jealously.' Said Nick simply
I gave him a horrified look 'What?!'
'Quite a few people think that Hodges likes you as more than just a 'good friend'.' Nick told me 'I'm not one of those people by the way. But when Hodges starts spreading different variations of the same story people wonder why.'
'What do you mean by different variations?' Greg asked him curiously
'Just different versions of the same thing, the most far-fetched was that you had taken the time off to elope in a cheap Vegas chapel.' He replied grinning
'Well….' Greg trailed off. I gave him a 'what are you doing?!' look and he lifted his hands up in a mock surrender.
'You guys got married?!' Nick asked very loudly
I gave him a panicked look 'Please keep your voice down.'
'How come I wasn't invited to the wedding?' Nick asked pouting 'I thought I was your friend.'
Greg rolled his eyes, 'we're not married yet, we're engaged. While we're on this topic I had something I wanted to ask you. Nick when I do get married would you do me the honor of being the best man?' Greg asked slowly and seriously
Nick looked at me then back at Greg 'I would love to!' He said then he pulled Greg up off of the couch into a bone crushing hug.
Greg spluttered 'N…Nick… Can't breathe.'
Nick released him and grinned apologetically 'sorry'
He then looked back at me 'Can I see the ring?' he asked
'Of course' I replied and lifted up my left hand at exactly the same time that someone else walked in.
Finn walked in carrying a folder in one hand and an empty cup of coffee in the other. As soon as she saw the glittering of my ring she was right by my side examining it.
'It's beautiful.' She told me softly. 'So who's the lucky man?' She asked her eyes glinting with excitement.
No-one said anything. Then Nick coughed something that sounded a lot like 'Greg'.
Finn grinned 'Aww I knew it, I knew that they would get together. 'She said triumphantly
'Who's together?' D.B asked walking into the break room.
'Greg and Morgan' Finn replied excitedly
D.B looked at Greg, then at me 'Congratulations.' He said smiling
'Is it true that you're pregnant Morgan? Is that why you're getting married? Does your dad know?' Finn asked very quickly
I gave Greg a panicked look and he said 'in order to the questions: No Morgan is not pregnant so that isn't why we're getting married and no Ecklie doesn't know yet.'
I looked at Greg, 'how many more people are there that don't know we're engaged?'
'Most of the team' He replied squeezing my hand.
'I can speed up the process. I'll send a group text to everyone.' D.B said
'Okay' I said slowly 'Don't send one to my dad.' I told him.
He nodded and began typing.
I looked back over at Greg, 'Come on, we've got to go and tell my dad that we're getting married.' I told him pulling his hand slightly
'Do I have to?' Greg asked childishly
'Yes, come on' I said and he let me drag him out of the room, behind us I could hear the others talking and I distinctly heard Nick say 'He is so whipped.' I grinned and lead Greg towards Ecklie's office.
