Ren sat beside Lela only to get her to not talk to him at all. Instead she looked down at her skirt as she refused to see the sadden look on his face. Ren on the other hand didn't understand why she was acting the way that she was, was it so bad that he was just trying to protect her?

"Lela...Talk to me. What's going on with you?" Ren asked concerned

She sighed and moved away from him. "Why do you care? NOTHING I've ever said to you before ever got to your mind, so why would what I say now make things be any different, you've never listened to me before so why start now?"

Ren went to his knees and he held her hands in his, making her look at him. "Lela, I'll listen because I didn't believe that you'd actually be taken from me. I thought you were just trying to joke around. What's going on, why would anyone take you from me?"

She closed her eyes as she let out a shaky breath before she looked back to him. "Okay...I guess I'll explain everything. While we were doing the first part of the tournament, some guy by the name of Zeke came up to me. He had said that he wanted me for himself, I told him that I wasn't interested. He seemed to arrogant for my liking, but he still listened to me. For days he'd come by, see how I was doing and ask me the same question over and over again. He said...He said that if I didn't be part of the second part of the tournament that my life would automatically be his, but if I did that I could fight for the right to do what I wished with my life." Lela said sadly

"Is that why you went to my uncle about our engagement?" Ren asked trying to place the pieces together

She nodded her head sadly. "As much as I love and care for you Ren, I don't ever want to hurt you. That's something that I don't wish to have happen. Please understand I'm doing what I can to make sure that I stay at your side but it's going to take time. Especially since I know for a fact that he'll stop at nothing just to get me."

Ren pulled her into him and wrapped his arms around her tightly, her purple eyes widen as she began to tear up. "R-Ren?"

"I'll never let anyone get to you, you aren't ever going to be with anyone besides me." Ren said softly to her. "If anyone wants you they're going to have to get past me first."

Lela's face went bright red as she heard him speak, she had no idea that he felt that way towards her. But it made her happy to hear that he actually did care for her. She hugged him tightly as she nuzzled herself against him with a smile on her face. "Okay...Thank you Ren. It makes me really happy to know that you'd do that for me."

"Of course, you're my fiancee, I'll do whatever it takes to protect your stubborn butt from harm." He said teasing her a bit

She blushed as she looked up at him. "I'm not that stubborn!"

He laughed and smiled at her. "Yes, yes you are. You just don't know how to own up to it that's all."

"Like you're one to talk Mr. Pushover!" She said as she pinched his cheeks with her hands.

He soon grabbed her hands and pushed her over onto her back as he pinned her down under him. "Now-now, no need for you to go and be rude to me. I was only teasing you that's all."

Lela was speechless as she realized that she had been pinned down by him once more. Ren realized that he had made his fiancee flustered and he smirked at her. "Don't look at me like that you perverted woman."

"I-I am not! I'm not the one who-" She said before she was cut off by him kissing her on the lips

Her purple eyes widen as she felt his lips against hers but then she closed her eyes as she kissed him back. She felt him hold her hands tighter as he smiled against her lips. "I'll always be here for you Lela, never forget that."

She nodded her head still flustered from being under him for so long.
