R's meeting with Mae reminded me of me and L. I remember, as the killer in that scenario, being too cheery and too… well, good. Just like I was with L. R emerged from the bathroom, her skin wrinkly as the folds on an old woman's forehead.
"You were in there the whole night…" I said as she walked over to the bed.
"I do that… Do you mind?" She muttered. I guess it was because of the cameras.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I turned my back because I'm a polite Shinigami. I'm not like Ryuk, intruding on everything and anything I do. He followed me to the bathroom… just because he didn't want to be bored. I'm guessing it's different because he and I were the same sex.
"Okay, thank you." R said. I turned to face her.
"You know, you really shouldn't sleep in the bathtub." She went to her bed and got situated, pulling her covers over her head.
"Why is that?" She said in a bored tone. Was this what Ryuk had felt when I talked to him? Had I been so rude and callous? Why am I even thinking of this right now?
"You're going to have a higher chance of having atopic dermatitis." I said as I remembered my younger sister. She loved to be in the bathtub for countless hours as a child. Sayu suffered from it… I haven't seen my little sister in over twenty years. She looked up to me. Even though she was annoying at times, I loved her.
"Kira?" R's voice flooded into my mind, ridding me of my thoughts of Sayu.
"Yes?"
"I've never seen you so deep in thought. Is something wrong?" I could hear concern in her voice.
"I was just… thinking."
"Well, I have an idea, Kira."
"Oh?"
"Why don't I just kill… never mind." R trailed off, with a tired voice.
"Kill off who? Mae?"
"No, I just thought of the complications that might occur if I did kill them off…" Who is this girl talking about? She's not considering her father, already, is she? R can't kill off her father yet; he needs to see the monster he's created.
"You're driving me crazy, tell me some of your plans!" I shouted. Shit. I need to keep my emotions in check. Revenge won't come easy if my double agent find out that she is, in fact, a double agent.
"So human," R whispered. "Come into the bathroom with me for a moment." She pulled back her covers and started to head towards the bathroom.
"Why?" Double shit. Has she figured out the truth? She closed the door behind her.
"Just come in here." R said quietly from her bathroom. I went through the door and saw her pack up her laptop in her shower tote.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly. My heart –or what used to be my heart- pounded insanely against my chest.
"Do you know who L is?"
"He's your father, right?"
"The original L."
"I'm guessing the person before your father?"
"I saw him in my dream, last night."
"The original L?"
"Yes, along with some other familiar and unfamiliar faces."
"Who?"
"You and a girl named Misa Amane? Apparently, she doesn't do nudes." How could she have known? L, the new L, wouldn't be so careless to leave those files around. "You two were fighting… something about L being depressed that his theory of Light Yagami being the first Kira was incorrect? Does this sound familiar to you?" Has Ryuzaki become vengeful and show her a memory?
"No, it doesn't."
"Stop playing games, Kira. I know that you were Light Yagami and then you weaseled yourself into a Shinigami somehow." Triple shit and I am out.
"Yes, fine. I was Light Yagami. What are you going to do about it?" I sound like a child.
"I knew it!" R exclaimed happily. "I'm not going to do anything." What?"
"The curiosity was just eating away at me." After she saw me with a confused look on my face, she explained, "I'm going to continue being Kira, don't worry. I just need your help."
"Your dad and I aren't so buddy-buddy; you're not going to tell him?"
"And risk the work I've done so far? Please Light, I know better." R opened the door, "I have to talk to you, but I can't be caught. I can't stay in here any longer, either. Follow me." R went out of the bathroom and took a red bag from her closet. She put her laptop and books inside of the bag and walked out of her room. I followed her, like she requested, and ended up outside of the building.
"Where are we going?" I asked. R ignored me and kept going. We went to a few stores and R bought some accessories for her laptop. In the end, we traveled back into R's cozy room in Ellis Towers.
Comments from Light Yagami in Part 1: R was strange, very clever, but strange. She was a mystery. Ego aside, I believe that R is smarter than me. R is so interestingly witty. The way she process the information she gets is amazing. She's the perfect successor to my legacy. However, she is not a perfect successor to L. Carmen Grace is cunning and sly, but emotional. Too emotional to be neutral like L. I've observed her in many ways, from the way she speaks to the way she acts. L might've been childish, but he knew how to be an adult. R was only childish. I have no doubt that she will get what she wants, but she could get it easily taken away. I'll have to help her mature in thought and actions. I'll probably help her no matter what. As long as I get my revenge, I don't care what I have to do. Kira will live on as the criminals and non-believers will die.
Comments from Nate Rivers in Part 1: The seventh Kira. Kira must be stopped. A homicidal mass murderer has been released again. I will stop him, even if "he" is my daughter.
Comments from Carmen Grace in Part 1: I believe that I can do well with Kira's help. As long as he tells the truth I'll help him get the revenge he wants so badly
Comments from Exsell in Part 1: Working with L has been a dream. Hopefully, I can catch Kira while investigating the case with L. Being Mae Fürst was horrible; being in drag is just horrible in general. I'm glad to be Toby, next… after Mae dies.
