"Do it," Travis ordered. "Do it now."

"I don't think I can," Katie said, staring at the ground below.

"What, are you scared?" he asked. "It's just zip-lining."

"No!" she defended, but even to her own ears, it wasn't very convincing. "I'm just not confident that I'm harnessed in correctly. What if I fall?"

"You're scared, aren't you?" When Katie didn't reply, he laughed softly. "How about this? I'll go first, so you can see that it's perfectly safe, and then you can go, and I'll be waiting at the end."

"Um," was all Katie said, because she couldn't think of a good enough reason not to do it.

"C'mon. I know you're not a coward."

Oh, if that didn't motivate her then nothing would. Let it be known to all that Katie wasn't someone to cower away from something, especially when it was Travis taunting her about it.

"Go on, then," she told him. "You go first." Travis beamed, kissed her on the cheek, and jumped from the platform. Katie watched as he sailed through the air. It looked like he was flying.

When he reached the platform at the other end of the zip-line, he called back, "Alright Katie! It's your turn now!" Steeling her nerves, Katie stepped up to the ledge, ignoring the drop below, and jumped.
