Summary: In a notebook in Sanada's room that no one knew about, laid a collection of stories written by Genichirou himself. The feelings he couldn't convey were always there, including his love for a certain blue-haired captain. There, he was always the bluenet's hero, rescuing him from Yakuza, kidnapping, vampires, pirates, anything that came to mind!
Notes: A new theme for a Sanada story!
I want to tell you that I'm going to write a new story. Mainly Rikkai, with the normal pairs, of course, genderbended. The hints I'll give are that they will be sailors/treasure hunters, and already in pairs, except for Yanagi-chan who will see Kirihara sword-fighting someone and bring him back to their ship.
Look forward to it!
Warnings: A bit OOc.
The window to Sanada's room was open, allowing him to see and hear the pleasant things going on outside.
What pleasant things, you'd ask?
Yukimura, sitting with his grandfather sharing stories over green tea and light snacks, was laughing freely in that tone of voice that Sanada was ready to pay anything just to hear. Listening to it would make him melt from happiness, and if he was allowed to show his emotions, he'd pull the slender teen into a tight hug and kiss his luscious-looking, sweet lips every time he heard it.
Which brought his mind to think about other things concerning their relationship..
Soon, he thought, soon they will solve it and settle down. Not now, though; Yukimura needed him as a best friend, so he'll be that for now.
Keeping an ear on his crush helped him concentrate on writing his newest story. Hearing the carefree giggles made him find words and phrases way faster and easier, and Sanada was in bliss.
So, what he had was the following.
…
Sanada Genichirou was a known man who traveled from one place to another, searching for adventures and quests. His aim wasn't the reward behind every task as much as it was the joy he got from fighting and just moving freely. He was that kind of a man.
His feet guided him to a village that seemed peaceful, although something was wrong about it. He couldn't place it exactly, but the atmosphere was gloomy and stressed around it.
The black-haired man entered a restaurant and sat at one of the tables in the back, watching and listening to everything around him. He ordered his food and sat waiting.
His food came and he dug in gratefully with a murmur of thanks.
Halfway through his meal, a group of elder men came in and sat at the table just next to his. Their conversation attracted Sanada and he listened to the rest of it silently.
".. no hope for him?"
One of them shook his head with a sour expression, "You clearly know how his end will be. Every victim taken died by their hands, too."
"Poor him. Just because he was born with such a pretty face.." and there were collective sorrowful sighs from all of them.
A pretty face was an understatement, Sanada's mind supplied helpfully. A pretty face, a pure soul, a sweet heart, a melodic voice, an angelic touch and one s*** body. Yes, he had seen.. and he was regretting it, because it wasn't fair to his mind.
"I wish I could do something to save him, but I'm out of energy and strength to do it. The strong ones nowadays are only for show off." A completely-white-haired old man said with a disappointed frown.
Sanada finished his meal and paid then headed to their table, wanting to know more about the happenings, "Excuse me," he started, his deep voice proud and confident, ".. can you tell me more about what you were talking just now?"
The old men exchanged glances then looked at him. One of them shrugged and motioned for him to bring a chair, "Come here and sit down. Are you familiar with the area here?"
The black-haired man nodded and did as asked, "Kind of."
The man on his right side cleared his throat, "There is this small group of bandits who formed more than a year ago. They are criminals and should be executed by anytime they are found within. Do you know what they do? They kidnap a young girl, keep her for a couple of weeks, mostly two months and then they kill her. It's horrible."
"No one does anything to stop them." the one across from him on the table clicked his tongue and shook his head in dismay, "They do whatever they like with her: torture, whip, hit, and even sometimes rape. And when they are done playing with her, they kill her, throw her in a big black bag and return her somewhere near the village so people would notice her."
The one who spoke first nodded, "This time, though, a young man has been taken instead. He was beautiful, by all means; he was so gentle and kind. But one day, he's not there, and the same message when a girl was kidnapped was left in his place." The man sniffed, "His deceased father was a close friend of mine, and the family, the whole village, is desperate to get him back."
Sanada nodded. He had all what he wanted of information, "What's his name? And where is his parents' house?"
"Yukimura Seiichi. Ah, even his name has this beautiful ring to it."
"Their house is just three or four houses away, to the right."
The black-haired man made to stand up, but a hand on his arm stopped him. He looked at the old man who stopped him, "Young man, will you save him and end this misery?"
Sanada nodded. "I will do that." And he left without further discussions.
The glaring sun was merciful enough to have cooled down a bit more than before the noon. He made his way to the appointed house, wanting to know more about the one he was going to save before heading out on his journey.
He walked to the third house after the restaurant and saw a black-haired woman there, "Excuse me," he called to her and she looked up at him through her long fringes.
"Yes?" she questioned with a soft voice.
"Is this the house where Yukimura Seiichi lives?"
A sad expression adorned her face as she shook her head and pointed to the house after hers. "There. But you won't find him in person if you're searching for him."
"Thank you." He gave a brisk bow and moved towards his destination.
The house was fairly nice. He glanced at the garden that surrounded it after he knocked on the door, waiting for someone to open it for him. A couple of seconds later, the door opened and a teenage girl with wide, beautiful, blue eyes met him.
Cool. He gave Yukimura a younger sister. If he did have a younger sister, Sanada thought he'd have to fight her over her brother's time.
"Hello, is this the Yukimura household?" he asked and watched her nod, her soft-looking straight lavender-colored hair sliding over her shoulders neatly.
"Saki, who is it?" a mature female voice came from inside the house, and a blue-haired woman appeared in the doorway behind the girl, Saki.
"How may I help you?" she asked him.
Sanada bowed down in respect, "My name is Sanada Genichirou. I came to know more about your son, I assume, Yukimura Seiichi?"
The woman's face darkened into a gloomy look as she looked him over, "May I ask why?"
"I've heard about what happened to him, and I want to help find him."
The woman seemed to be deep in thought, debating on whether to trust him or not, but then she took a step backwards and opened the door wider, "Please, come in."
He nodded and followed her and the girl inside. Sanada was led into a beautiful room that he guessed was the living room.
"Please, make yourself at home, I'll be back in a minute." The blue-haired woman said, and Sanada nodded, occupying a seat of the sofa. He was left alone for a couple of moments until the same girl from before entered with a tray and a glass of juice.
He gratefully accepted the drink and thanked her, took a sip then placed the glass on the table in front of him.
"You're name is Sanada-san?"
He turned his head to study the girl. The black-haired man nodded and watched her return his gesture. "Are you going to save my brother?"
He didn't know whether it was alright to tell her that she should consider her brother saved already, but he just chose to nod again. No need to appear arrogant in front of people he didn't know.
Saki sighed and looked at her fists in her lap, "You know, Seiichi is a really kind person.. he doesn't deserve what happened to him." She clenched her dress, "He's the nicest, loveliest and most beautiful person I know. I want him back.." she looked up at him, hope dancing in the depth of her eyes, "Please tell me that you're going to get nii-chan back."
"Sorry for making you wait." Came the mother's voice, cutting their conversation off and bringing his attention to the objects in her hands.
Apparently, they were photos of the missing son. Sanada accepted one of them and listened to her talk about Seiichi. It seemed like he was really a loved person.
His brown eyes glanced down at the picture in his hand, but then he had to do a double check to make sure his eyes weren't fooling him.
The person in the photo was beyond beautiful.. he had those amazingly light eyes, a brilliantly bright smile, and a lovely face, and there were still his sinfully seductive lips, curved into a soft smile. His hair fell in blue waves all around his face, framing it delicately, before it fell down to his shoulders gracefully. Sanada found himself not minding if he had to stare at the picture for a whole day.
If it was possible to say, the adventurer, Sanada Genichirou, was smitten. It was love at first sight for him. He was more determined to save this bluenet, no matter the price.
"He is my eldest child; he just turned twenty last week. As you can see, he was chosen as those gangsters' target because he was this beautiful. You probably don't know how it feels- and I hope you won't ever know- but it's so hard to lose a child. He grew up under my sight, and I watched him turn from a child to a teenager and then slowly to a young man, but then he's suddenly not there." The mother dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief, "I just can't help it. My heart aches badly every time I see his pictures. He's an innocent soul.."
Saki stood up from her place and went to place her hands comfortingly on her mother's shoulders. Sanada had just witnessed what it was like to have close family bonds.
His determination notched up yet higher. He was for sure going to return this young man to his family who clearly loved him very much.
He spent the whole day learning more about Yukimura and listening and asking about those thugs who found joy in executing their crimes freely. And by sunset, he was all ready to start his newest quest.
…
When night began to fall, Sanada reached a group of caves connected together by an underground tunnel. His last assumption was that the gangsters took it as their secret base. It was so hard to find that place because of the wild nature there, but the adventurer had made it. Nothing would stop him from rescuing the one he loved.
At that matter, he ought to have a long talk with the bluenet on how he should take responsibility for stealing his heart, and he knew the other would be his by no time.
Back at the situation at hand, he spent the night studying the entrances and routes inside and all around the base to make things easier for him when he'd go in there.
Sanada moved when the first rays of sunshine waved into the morning sky.
…
"Boss, someone infiltrated our base." A bald man whispered to a bigger man with big moustaches. The other glared at him hard, "How could that happen?" he hissed.
"I'm not sure, but he's giving the men a hard time. They say he's undefeatable."
The man, whose aura darkened, grabbed his thick sword and marched to a tied blue-haired young man, "You stay here my darling. I'll be right back. It seems like I have to deal with the bugs on my own." He caressed the bluenet's cheek with the back of his hand and leaned in to kiss the skin, but the younger one immediately turned his head away sharply.
"Still being stubborn now, are we? It's my fault that I haven't touched you all this while, but I assure you, my patience has ran out and I'm going to break you once I get back." He smirked, "Wait for me, na?"
The blue eyes were shut tightly in fear and disgust, and the body shuddered when the bulky man left him alone. A muffled, fearful whimper escaped his covered mouth as he fought his tears. Why did this happen to him?
He wished strongly that the man would never come back.
…
Sapphire blue eyes widened when a shrill cry reached him. Was his mind playing tricks on him, or was this the truth? Was that really the ugly boss's voice? He shivered again as he feared what was coming to him.
For a while, he sat in complete silence, listening to every small noise around him, until the rhythmic sound of footsteps was the only echo. It was slowly getting closer, and he straightened his back, unconsciously pressing himself to the boulder behind him.
And then, the person came out for clear view. The bluenet narrowed his eyes to focus on the single silhouette in the distance until his face was bathed with light.
When this strange man was away from him by a couple of steps, he stopped and crouched down to his eye level.
"Yukimura Seiichi.." the deep voice made him shiver again. 'Oh God, please, don't make this one be another sick person.' He had enough of them during the couple of days he remained here.
"Do you know how much I've been searching for you?" strangely, the tone was closer to be affectionately serious and caring more than dangerous. The black-haired man in front of him came closer to him then and slowly reached towards his face. Yukimura jerked back involuntarily but the man just made a strangely soothing hushing sound, "Don't worry, I won't do anything." The man said, "I'm going to take this cloth off, okay?"
Slowly, he reached forward again and took hold of the knot behind his head to undo it. The gag fell down to his lap innocently and the man stared deep in his eyes.
"I've longed to finally see you.."
"Who.." Yukimura's voice trembled, "Who are you..?" it was so soft and low that he didn't recognize it as his own.
"Sanada Genichirou.. the one you've captured his heart.."
He could actually feel a blush creeping its way to his cheeks. This was really awkward. He didn't know what to do or respond, but he felt giddy from inside and his heart quickened its pace. He closed his eyes when Sanada's both hands cupped his face and sighed.
The black-haired adventurer's eyes were swirling with mixed emotions. He finally had the one he loved between his arms and he was so overwhelmed that he was ready to throw his mind away to just be with his beloved.
Yukimura opened his eyes when the hands retreated from his face. They widened though when he saw Sanada taking out a dagger.
It seemed like Sanada understood the fear in the other's body, so he gave a reassuring smile and placed a finger on the bluenet's rosy lips in a hushing manner, "I swear, I won't hurt you in my life. Just bear with it for a little bit." And he proceeded to cut the ropes that locked the bluenet's upper torso, arms and legs gently. He made sure to put his hand in the way of the blade so that he won't ever miss the ropes, and in case he did, he would be the one cut.
When he was done, the frailer young man rubbed his aching limbs to restore the circulation through his veins.
"Come now. Your mother and sister are waiting for you." Sanada stood up and stretched his hand out for him to take it, and that he did. Once he was up on his feet, though, Sanada raised his hand and cupped his face again, the other arm going to circle his waist and hold him loosely close. "I could spend days just looking into your eyes.." he said, his voice a quiet murmur that could have been above a whisper by a notch or two, and Yukimura shuddered faintly as he tried to push himself away as gently as possible.
When Sanada pulled away, his eyes looked the bluenet up and down. The white robe Yukimura was wearing along with his lovely hair falling down his shoulders made him look like a fallen angel. Sanada didn't think he could love him more than he already was. He turned and started walking towards the opening he came in from, trusting the other to follow him judging from the soft tapping noise behind him.
They remained silent all the way until they were finally outside. The opening of the cave was higher than the normal earth level by a good distance. Sanada crouched down and easily hopped off, landing swiftly on his feet. When he looked up, though, Yukimura looked troubled as he gazed at the huge step he'd have to take.
Sanada let out a small smile and extended his arms towards him, "Here, sit down."
The bluenet hesitantly did so, and reached for Sanada's hands. The adventurer though took hold of the paler hands and placed them on his broad shoulders then reached further to hold the slim waist. He heard the soft gasp and saw the blooming blush and tried not to feel smug as he easily lifted the smaller male.
While he was bringing him down, their eyes locked gazes together stably. Yukimura's blue eyes seemed searching in the warm brown ones as all the unspoken questions and answers passed between them. Their faces were close, their bodies sharing warmth, and as Sanada made a romantic twirl before he slowly placed the gorgeous bluenet down, he badly wanted to stop time. He wanted to live the moment forever.
A lot of sceneries were playing in his head, saved in his memory, to charm Yukimura some time. He was definitely going to use them in their right times. Sanada was going to let Ykimura live magical moments he never even dreamt of.
Slowly, Yukimura's gaze lowered with a blush starting on his cheeks, and his head leaned down on Sanada's chest. He might have started to fall for the man already, since his heart was beating beautifully playfully in his ribcage. Sanada's eyes widened for a second when he saw the action, when he felt the warm body completely relax against his, but he was in no way protesting. Instead, he brought his arms tighter, but still loose enough, around Yukimura's waist and just paused movements.
The bluenet was the first to pull away and turn around, "Shall we get moving now?" he asked in a somehow timid tone of voice that the bigger male couldn't help but think of as adorable.
They kept walking throughout the day and didn't stop until night started to fall. Sanada had it planned out all along and deliberately walked Yukimura to the small camp he had made prior to him invading the gang's hide-out. There was already a circle of stones with a pile of wooden sticks inside it, and a make-shift futon. A duffel bag also laid aside, in which the adventurer had gathered pieces of fruit for them to eat.
Unbeknownst to the bluenet, Sanada knew he had to make the other fall in love with him before they reached the village, and he was taking his time by going through a longer route back and taking it slowly. He was determined about this, and wouldn't accept refusal. At a maximum rate, he had around a day and a half of travelling together with the bluenet until he would convince him that he was a man of his word and would keep him happy for lifetime.
"We will settle here tonight and will resume tomorrow morning." He informed him, "You can sleep. I'll take the watch."
"But," Yukimura frowned at him, ".. you need to sleep, too."
A hand on the head was all it took to silence the bluenet's lovely worry, it seemed, "Do not worry. Seeing your peaceful face will keep me up during the night. I will make sure nothing ever come close to you, so you don't need to stay on guard."
Yukimura nodded dumbly before looking away. Thankfully, Sanada didn't dwell too much about it and crouched down, working on setting up the fire.
After they ate some of the fruits, Yukimura yawned unconsciously, making the other chuckle heartily at him. "Go to sleep, now."
"I'm not that sleepy yet. I can stay up for a bit mo-.." and another yawn cut off his sentence, making him blush sweetly and move before the other had to say anything.
The bluenet tucked himself beneath the blanket well; it was a bit cold now. He adjusted his head on the make-shift pillow and tried to relax. "Are you sure you don't want to rest?" he couldn't help but be concerned.
"Ah. You go ahead and rest now." And soon, Yukimura was fast asleep.
…
"Sanada.." Yukimura called as he stepped over broken branches, ".. why.. do you love me?"
The adventurer paused to look back at the other, standing with a coy blush, "I admired in you what I heard people talking about. Then I fell in love with your personality and your eyes when I met your mother and sister."
They fell silent for a couple more minutes until they reached a river they had to cross. Wordlessly, Yukimura accepted the extruded hand towards him and allowed Sanada to anchor him above the slippery stones.
"Why?" he asked again, once they were between the trees.
Sanada stopped and turned fully towards him, brushing strands of lilac blue and catching some of them, printing a kiss on them, "Because I never thought I'd find someone as perfect as you, who is the answer to all my prayers.." he whispered against a reddening ear and pulled back to smile charmingly at Yukimura.
The bluenet knew he was doomed.
…
They were finally back. The village was in their sights now, and Yukimura couldn't feel more anticipation to be reunited with his dear mother and sister. He had missed them so much.
He looked to his right and couldn't help but smile and feel grateful for the man that had gave him hope of resuming his life peacefully.
Sanada sensed the soft gaze on him and met him with questioning eyes, but he soon smiled back and gave a reassuring nod, feeling loved all over from that smile alone. His hopes of spending eternity with this person were high searing in the sky.
"Shall we go?" Yukimura asked with a tilt of his head, and gladly accepted the presented hand for the nth time.
Together, step by step, they made it down to the road to the lively place.
Once people started spotting them, murmurs and whispers rose. Sanada let go of the lovely hand in his out of respect and walked behind the bluenet, watching as young children came to hug him, and witnessing the sweet smile that graced the luscious lips he fell in love with.
By the time they reached the venue where the Yukimura household was, the news were already spread all around the place and his mother and younger sibling were standing at the front door with hopeful eyes.
Saki's eyes widened when she saw him and she exclaimed happily, "Mother, it's true! Seiichi's back!" and after hesitating for a bit, she ran with all her might in his direction, yelling his name. Her older brother gave her a wide grin as he opened his arms, and she jumped right in his embrace, kissing his cheek repeatedly and greeting him with all the words she could think of.
Sanada watched as Yukimura wrapped an arm around his sister's shoulders and walked in the direction of his house. He then watched the warm reunion as the mother cried over her son's return, hugging him tightly and pressing kisses all over his face, chanting prayers and thanks to the God that protected her son and brought him back safely to her.
Yukimura's eyes welled up with tears as he looked around and saw everyone he knew since childhood welcoming him back home. He looked back at his mother and whispered, "I'm home, mom.."
"Yes. Yes, my dear.." and there were merry chuckles mingled with tears and sniffs.
A while later, his mother was surrounded by neighbors and friends, congratulating her by the return of her child, as he was free to wander around. He suddenly blinked and searched around him. There was something missing.
That familiar strong presence that accompanied him all the way, that honest heart that managed to capture his, that handsome face that made him almost swoon, newly. He was completely in love by then, and he didn't think he could take it if the other were to leave him now, after the hard time had passed.
He searched for that proud back everywhere and finally found him. He took a deep breath and yelled the name as loud as he could.
"SANADA!"
The black-haired adventurer's ears perked up when that smooth velvety voice reached him, and he immediately turned around only to be welcomed with the sight of the beautiful bluenet running in his direction. By instinct, he opened his arms and caught Yukimura in his arms.
"Yukimura..?" he voiced hesitantly.
The bluenet lifted his head and glared, "Where did you go? I panicked when I didn't find you!"
Sanada was dumbfounded, "You did?"
"Yes!"
They were silent for a moment before Yukimura, shyly and a bit sadly, started, "Didn't you say you love me? Don't you do anymore?"
"No! I do! I love you the most!"
"Then why are you leaving?"
"Because.." he sighed, "Because I thought it'd be selfish of me to want to keep you to myself when all these people around need you."
"You idiot! I thought you were-.. urgh!" Yukimura grabbed the bigger hand and dragged him back all the way towards his house once again.
"Mom!" he called when they were at the gates, "I want you to meet someone."
When the bluenette mother (and everyone else) looked back, he proudly pulled Sanada closer by his hand and introduced, "Sanada Genichirou, the one who is going to take responsibility of me."
There was silence for a whole minute as all people present comprehended the information, and Sanada was the first to react.
He blinked in befuddlement, "Wait, what?"
"I'm marrying you." Yukimura spoke, all determination sparking in his eyes alongside an adorable flush on skin.
Sanada's response was to search his eyes for a couple of seconds then to lean down and kiss him hard on the lips, wanting to savor the words fully as his gentle hands held the sides of Yukimura's head to keep him close. When he pulled away, there was that shy smile that he loved as the younger male touched fingers to his lips.
Yukimura's mother stepped towards them with a smile and gratefully hugged the black-haired adventurer. She then went to her son's side and held his hand, "I can't thank you enough, Sanada-kun. But if marrying Seiichi will make you and him happy then I don't have any reason to object. I'd be very pleased to have you in our family."
"Me, too!" Saki yelled excitedly and hugged Sanada's waist with a chuckle.
A laugh escaped Sanada's lips as he felt overwhelmed with emotions. He nodded his head wordlessly and accepted the warm kiss that Yukimura gave him on his cheek.
"You'll.. marry me for real?" he asked, still in a daze.
"Yes." And the smile he presented was the sweetest Sanada had ever seen on his face.
Yukimura had always thought that he would find a nice girl, marry her and continue the bloodline with her, but he never expected to fall in love with a man, and be all too ready to produce him an heir above that. But he knew that he wouldn't be as happy if it wasn't Sanada he was going to be bound to.
He accepted his fate with open arms, and wished it to continue on for eternity just the way he accepted yet another kiss from his soon-to-be spouse.
…
Sanada's head was floating. All kinds of romantic settings making themselves clear in his mind, and he was almost overwhelmed.
He looked down at the notebook between his hands and smiled when the sound of Yukimura's laughter tickled his ears again.
A sigh left him as he closed the love story and slid it back under his bed. He stretched, yawned and went downstairs.
