Second year and Albus knows now!

Secrets Revealed

It was only a few days into summer when Dumbledore himself stormed into Pride Castle with anger in his icy blue eyes. He grabbed Minerva and spun her to him staring at her.

"How could you lie to me!?"

"I...I don...Albus what are you talking about?" she whimpered trying to wriggle out of his arms.

"Daniel is Harry! How could you deceive me!? How could you expose him so thoughtlessly!?"

"Ho...how did you find out?"

"That's all you have to say!?" he shook her.

"Father let her go," Severus demanded.

Albus stared at his son a long moment before releasing Minerva and she stumbled back falling into a chair.

"Why have you all lied to me?" he asked only slightly calmer.

"Because we wanted Harry safe...and he is. He's safe and happy here. He get's stronger everyday," Severus crossed his arms defiantly.

"Severus there is poison in this house. It's not safe for him." Albus seemed to beg.

"I grew up at Hogwarts and turned into a death eater spy. Personally I think his life his better here. He is separated from the corruption of Hogwarts and the Ministry. I wish I had been left here. What did I gain from playing a family with you and mother? What was the point Albus? You weren't a father?"

"She's destroying your mind."

"No Albus. I see clearly I can assure you. You are not the Saint the world and even yourself thinks you are. You are broken and jagged and demented. You are corrupted by the world's view on you. You are trying to be what they claim you are and look where it has gotten you... your soul mate divorced you, your son is nothing more then a pawn to you, you lost two children as babies, and your own mother-in-law would kill you if she hadn't swore an unbreakable vow to mother to keep you alive."

"I...what?" he blinked looking at Minerva.

Minerva stood slowly staring at him.

"I cannot trust you, but I do still love you with every fiber of my being Albus. I did have mother swear it...she bleeds for all four of us Albus."

Albus stepped back blinking as if slapped.

It was at that moment Cytheria entered humming and reading a spell book. She stopped and paused staring at the man in her parlor. Her face only appeared shocked he was in her house...oddly there was no anger in her eyes, perhaps because of the tears and shocked looked on his face.

"I...h...have I missed something?" she looked around the room.

"Albus knows about Daniel..."

"Well he can't have him," she said quietly closing her book. "Whether he is Minerva's legally or not he can't take him from this house."

"I'm in your soul," Albus breathed.

"I..." for once she was at a loss of words.

"We've told him mother." Minerva nodded.

Albus fell to his knees crying. Minerva knelt by him and he grabbed her holding her close sobbing like a child. Severus came and put a hand on his back.

Cytheria just watched as her scared hand bled more into the wrapping and throbbed.

In her heart she felt it stitching itself.

After Albus had finally calmed himself, he sat having tea in the kitchen with the three adults. He was holding tightly to Minerva's hand.

"Where is H-Daniel?"

"Sleeping over at the Weasleys for a few days," Cytheria sipped her tea.

"He wanted to give mother a few restful summer days. She's been weaker then usual," Severus stated.

Albus looked at Minerva concerned.

"She's fine now. Clever boy that Severus is has invented a new potion that rejuvenates her longer." Cytheria proclaimed proudly. Her eyes shining at her grandson.

Severus bowed his head in embarrassment.

Albus smiled at Severus and kissed Minerva's hand.

Minerva smiled at Albus adoringly.

Cytheria was pleasant all afternoon and night, but ceased once Albus finally left.

She shut the door looking at the other two quietly.

"Moth-"

Minerva was cut off as her mother held up her hand.

"You are free to do as you like with your children and him. I keep my vow to keep him alive for you. That does not mean I will ever fully trust him again. He can try and he can heal and he can be better, but my heart will never forget that the boy that had once been my best friend betrayed me in the worst way."

Her peace spoken she went upstairs to bed and to re-wrap her hand.

Severus and Minerva stared at each other. Part of them agreed with her and part of them wanted desperately to be a family.
