A/N Just wanted to apologise to all my lovely readers for not updating for a long time, and a huge thank you for being patient and waiting this long.
HANNAHJANE'S POV
"JASON!" I screamed as the car smashed into him. My whole body went numb in shock. No, no, no. I ran over to him, and cradled his limp, lifeless body as I rang an ambulance. Tears streamed down my face, and I felt a pair of hands pull me up and into a hug. It was Tom. My tears soaked his shirt, as we waited for the ambulance to arrive.
"What is taking so long?" I asked, when in reality, it had probably only been about 2 minutes. Tom rubbed my arm in support, and kissed my head. The ambulance turned up, and the paramedic came over to me. She was trying to ask me what was wrong, and I couldn't speak, my body was racked with sobs.
"Ok darling, can you tell me what's happened?" she asked kindly.
"W-Well, w-we were a-arguing, and he s-step-pped out into the road, and the car..." I managed to force out.
"Ok, do you want to ride with us?" she asked. I looked at Tom, and he nodded, saying he would meet me there. I climbed into the ambulance, and held onto Jason's hand all the way there.
"I'm so sorry Jason. It's all my fault" I sobbed, hoping and praying he could hear me. I can't lose him. We finally reached the hospital, and everything turned into a blur. I could hear nurses and doctors all around me, voices barely audible. Jason was whisked off away to surgery, and I was left to wait in despair, and hope that he would pull through. I went to the coffee machine, hoping the energy burst would do me some good. I was pacing outside the operating room, when Tom found me. He pulled me into a close embrace, trying to comfort me. I'm glad he's here, but I don't feel comforted.
"It'll be alright, you know. From what I've seen, he's a stubborn get. He wouldn't give up on you" Tom said. I laughed weakly, and then my laughter turned to anger.
"It's not going to be alright though, is it? It's my fault, it's all my fault" I shouted.
"Hannah..." Tom started.
"No Tom, I shouldn't have let him walk off like that, not when..." I trailed off, running a hand through my hair.
"Not when you still love him" Tom finished. I nodded, and placed a hand on his arm.
"I'm sorry" I said softly, genuinely meaning it.
"It's ok. I guess I alaways knew really. I saw the way you looked at him, and it was blindly obvious he still loved you. I was to caught up in my own world that I didn't notice, and for that I apologise" he replied, putting his hand over mine.
"Tom, you have nothing to be sorry for" I said.
"Well, I'm still here if you need me. I can't leave you at a time like this, it wouldn't be fair, we are still friends" he said. I smiled, and slumped against the wall, sighing as I did so.
"I mean what happens if he..." I said.
"It won't come to that" Tom replied.
"But what if it does?" I asked.
"It won't. You've got to think positive. Now come on, try to get some sleep" he said. I stood up, and sat on the couch. It took a while, but eventually, I succumbed to the powers of sleep. However, a good couple of hours later, I was awakened by one of the doctors working on Jason.
"Are you Hannah?" he asked.
"Yes, why?" I replied.
"I'm Doctor Bertrand. I have some news about Jason. The surgery went well, but he had lost a lot of blood, he's in intensive care, but he's not out of the woods yet. He's sleeping now, but you can see him if you'd like" he said, and walked away. Tom nodded encouragingly at me, and I followed the doctor to Jason's room. It looked so wrong seeing Jason wired up, loads of tubes sticking out in all different places.
"Here he is. You can't have long, because we need to run more tests, but treasure the moments you do have with him" Bertrand said, and walked away. I pushed the door open gently, and sat down in the chair next to him.
"What were you thinking, you stupid bastard?" I asked.
"Oi, I take offence to that" Jason said weakly.
"Jason, you're awake" I replied, urprised.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" he asked.
"You've been in a fucking car accident, how are you so calm?" I asked exasperated.
"How are you not?" he replied.
"I've been worrying about you" I said. He weakly grasped my hand with his.
"You don't need to. I'm not in any pain" he replied.
"I'm just glad you're alive. I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself" I said.
""Why? It's not your fault" Jason asked.
"It is. We were arguing, and then..." I said, trailing off.
"It isn't honestly. I was the one that stepped into the road pissed, not you" he said, tryingnto comfort me. He coughed and then he went silent. His heart monitor started flashing.
"JASON!" I screamed. I ran out of the room, and found the nearest doctor. "Please help me! In here, he's flatlining" I shouted. He raced into the room, along with other doctors.
"Miss, you have to leave" one of the ordered.
"I'm not going anywhere" I replied.
"Miss, please" another said, pushing me out of the room. I slumped against the wall. He can't die. Please, Jason. Please pull through.
