Am I a bad person, or what?
I'm so sorry I haven't gotten around to updating this even though I promised I would. So, SO sorry! I've been so busy with band (To other band geeks - MIDSTATE'S IN 12 DAYS AUGH I'M GONNA DIE SO HARD) and trying to stay fit and active I just haven't had the time to write anything!
CO-WRITER NEEDED! Since I keep getting busy, and getting writer's block, I would like to request a co-author! If anyone wants to, you can just PM me! What will happen is you can come up with ideas, or help me collect other ideas, or you could actually write a chapter! You'd send all your ideas and/or writing to me, I'd proof-read, we'd discuss, and then it'd get posted! If you guys want this story to keep going, I really need some help~ Just PM me if you're interested!
So, after a long, long, wait, here's an update!
Getting to Know You
Pairings: Vanilla Butter
Finally, finally, it was racing day.
The arcade had been shut down for renovations for nearly a month now. After waiting not-so-patiently for "Like, forever!", the little President of Sugar Rush was at last getting her racing gear together.
Today was the day before reopening and, thus, it was time for the random-roster race of Sugar Rush.
"C'mon, Ralph, we'll be late!" The small child grinned, dragging her friend by the finger towards the door of her castle.
"Calm down there, butt munch, we'll be there on time." The large man laughed at his friend's eagerness. She never failed to get over-excited for these things, no matter how many times she participated. Vannelope ran to her kart, hopping into it and starting the engine. She then bit her lip with anxiety as she looked to Ralph.
"Do you think I'll win?" She worried aloud.
"You've won nearly every race this year, I don't see why or how you wouldn't. You're the best racer here, Val. You don't need to be scared." Ralph offered a reassuring smile as they began to make their way to the racing track.
"On your mark. Get set. Go." Sour Bill mumbled in his monotone voice, flashing a flag to represent the start of the game.
They were off. With Vanellope in the lead and Rancis Fluggerbutter a close second, the racers passed through many obstacles and flew past many sharp turns. They were now gliding through the Candy Cane forest, crossing the Laffy Taffy Bridge.
"You're going down, Reese's!" Vanellope shouted, her opponent catching up with her just slightly.
"Not today, sweetheart!" The blonde's smile twisted slightly and he pulled in front of the raven-haired racer. Vanellope puffed her cheeks in anger, a bit of red color coming into her normally pink face. She slammed her foot down on the gas pedal, trying desperately to get around the chocolaty racer in front of her. But she slipped, the kart sliding precariously to the side of the bridge. With one bump in the road, Vanellope flew into the grainy chocolate of the Nes-quik sand pit, her Kart landing with a thump on the gooey taffy ground beside it.
She screamed, trying to regain balance and grasp the edge of the bridge, but it was too late. She dropped into the quicksand and immediately felt her legs become stuck.
Rancis stopped, gasping as he pulled over to the side of the road.
"You okay!?" He shouted, looking down.
"What the heck do you think, peanut butter?" Vanellope huffed sarcastically, crossing her arms across her chest and remaining still. The male racer stopped his kart and got out, rushing over to the vines of purple laffy taffy.
"Uh.. Hold on.." He grasped one, told a most-likely-stupid joke, and slowly began tumbling towards Vanellope in a shower of laughter. But as he neared the sand, his grip slipped, and he tumbled down on top of the stranded girl.
"Ack, get off!" She cried, slightly amused. "What now, genius."
The boy thought a moment, his eyes searching for something to inspire a joke. "Uhhhh….. Ooh! I got one!" He gathered his courage and inhaled sharply, "WHAT DO YOU CALL A COW THAT CAN'T MOO?!" He shouted. Vanellope covered her ears, appalled.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT, BUTTHEAD." She cried with an equal volume.
"Oh… Uh, sorry." Rancis grinned sheepishly. "What do you call a cow who can't moo?"
"I don't know,"
"A milk dud." Rancis grinned lopsidedly as Vanellope slightly smiled.
"That was stupid." She laughed. The Laffy Taffy were slowly descending, but not nearly fast enough. "Okay, okay, I got one. Why was the cookie crying?" She paused, "She was feeling crummy!"
The Laffy Taffy moved slightly faster, their laughs slow and slight.
"What about this; What does a vegan zombie eat? GRAAAAIIINNSSSSS!" Rancis laughed at his own joke, and soon Vanellope joined in.
"One more, one more!" The girl chirped, "What do cat's eat for breakfast?"
Rancis knew this one, it was simple, one told all the time in classes at the school, so he chimed in with the answer.
"Mice krispies!"
The two laughed together, accidentally touching hands as they reached for the closest vine of Taffy.
"Oh, uhm, sorry…" They mumbled in unison, blushing deeply. They reached the bridge again, noticing that none of the other racers were in sight.
"We should head back. It's getting late." Rancis observed, looking at the simulated darkness that was spreading across the sky.
"But wait, my Kart…" Vanellope called, gesturing to her damaged kart.
Rancis looked at it.
"You can ride with me?" He asked.
"Nuh-uh. No way I'm cramming into your's with you, you sweaty buffoon…" Vanellope looked away, sighing.
"Maybe we can just walk. I won't leave you behind." He smiled foolishly, a blush creeping onto his face.
" …Okay." The girl finally agreed, bouncing up beside him. As they walked, they chatted quietly, growing more fond of each other as the time krept by. After a while, Rancis slipped his hand into Vanellope's. She didn't pull away.
Hand in hand, they came in last place.
And this time, Vanellope didn't even mind losing.
Ta-da! Short and sweet. Maybe one day I'll get around to doing a longer chapter.
I hope you liked my stupid little-kid jokes. XD
I've gotten a few requests for a part two of last chapter, and if you really want (And if I get some much needed help) I'll try my best to get you one!
Anyways, I hope you liked it! Request either by PM or by review as always! PM me if you're interested in being a co-author! Byee~
