Chapter 10: Grab it in your hand

In Akihabara, Tohya and Minori are in front of a brick building with vines covering the outside.

"Hmm..." Tohya said.

Minori looked at the building as Tohya thought to himself. "Hey, are we really going...Tohya?"

"Hmm..."

Inside the brick building, Nayu, who took off her jacket and was wearing a light blue apron, was mopping the floors while the others were moving furniture.

"Ah, so bored~" Nayu said to herself. "Why must I be assign to clean the floor alone?"

As she was mopping, she stopped and placed her head on top of the mop handle with a small smile.

'But...It's great to have this building since this will be our home now...'

"Nayu, are you mopping?" A voice said from above.

The voice surprised Nayu as the mop slipped from under her and made her face plant into the ground. "...Ow..."

As Nayu lifted her head up, she sees a hand in front and sees that the hand belongs to Akatsuki. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, minus the pain on my nose, I'm just fine." Nayu said placing her hand into Akatsuki's.

As Akatsuki pulled Nayu up, Nayu was holding onto her nose. As Nayu was holding her nose, Akatsuki gave Nayu a cloth which made Nayu confused.

"Do you want to help me clean the floors?" Akatsuki asked.

Nayu looked at the cloth with a blank look until she took it with a smile. "Yeah."

As those two were cleaning the floor with cloths, Shiroe, who was in another room, was putting books into the shelf until someone called him.

"Hey Shiroe..." Someone called.

When Shiroe looked over, he saw Naotsugu, who was carrying a table and seat bench.

"Where do you want this?" Naotsugu asked.

Shiroe pointed to a place. "Over there, please."

As they were placing furniture and books in one place, Nayu and Akatsuki were still cleaning the floors.

"Hey Akatuski, lets do a race. Ready, set, GO!" Nayu said speeding off while cleaning the floor.

Akatsuki looked ahead to the speedy Nayu. "H-Hey Nayu! That's cheating!"

"HAHAHA! You can't catch up to me, Akatsuki!" Nayu exclaim looking back at Akatsuki.

After saving the Hamelin members, Nayu, who had gotten many injuries from her battle, had gotten many complaints from not just her guild, but also the members of the Crescent Moon guild. Eventually, Serara helped out Nayu by healing her back to health.

Nyata, who was cleaning the kitchen area, heard some noise from the hallways.

"Hey, Wait up!" He heard Akatsuki exclain.

"Can't catch me!" Nayu exclaim.

He laugh to himself on how childish Akatsuki was for a little race. As he continued cleaning, he heard some thumping and a smack and came out to see Nayu on the wall falling back down.

"N-Nayu!" Akatsuki walked over to Nayu. "Are you okay?"

Nayu stood up and held a thumbs up. "Nothing can stop this swashbuckler! Nothing!"

She soon got a smack in her head from Akatsuki.

"Ow! Hey!" Nayu said holding her head. "What's that for?"

"Don't do something like that again!" Akatsuki exclaim.

Nayu nodded and bowed down. "Okay, sorry."

Nyanta smiled at the scene and went back into the kitchen area to continue cleaning.

As Nayu was placing her hand back to her side, she notices a movement from the side of her eye outside. As she slowly turns her body towards the window, she can now see that the movement was by a man, who was hiding behind a building.

"Hey Nayu..." Akatsuki called out. "Is something wrong?"

"Yeah Akatsuki, loo-." Nayu looked back to the window only to see that the man disappeared. "...Nothing..."

Nayu turned back to Akatsuki who had a confused look on her. "Was something out there, Nayu?"

"It was nothing..." Nayu said grabbing a cloth. "Anyway, we should continue cleaning the floors, come on."

Nayu place the cloth on the floor and began cleaning. Akatsuki just gave Nayu one more confused look before placing her cloth on the ground also and following after.

As Nayu and Akatsuki were cleaning the base floor, two members had just entered the guild building.

"This place is huge~!" One of the voices said.

As Nayu and Akatsuki both stood up, they turned around to see Maryelle and Henrietta entering the building. Maryelle entered the building with food in her hands, while Henrietta held her trusty clipboard. As Henrietta came in, she went straight over to Akatsuki with a pleased expression.

"This hairstyle is adorable, too!" Henrietta said gushing over Akatsuki.

"I'm in the middle of cleaning..." Akatsuki said.

Henrietta began going through her pockets. "I've brought you and Nayu moving presents!"

Henrietta eventually took out of her pockets two kimonos for Akatsuki and Nayu to try on.

"Now, we take this..." Henrietta looked at the two with a scary expression.

While Akatsuki turned red, Nayu ran straight behind Shiroe for protection.

"Isn't that..." Shiroe said.

"A children and teens festival kimono?" Naotsugu finished.

"Shiroe, Naotsugu..." Maryelle said happily."This is a moving present!"

Maryelle then began stuffing Shiroe and Nayu's hands with the food she carried. "Takoyaki...Okonomiyaki...And crepes!"

"Even the desert's a fried food?!" Naotsugu exclaim.

"Th-There's so much-" Shiroe said.

"Don't be modest. You have to eat a lot, or you won't grow up big, like Naotsugu." Maryelle clung onto Naotsugu's arm. "Right Naotsugu?"

As she placed her head onto Naotsugu's shoulder, she notices something weird. "Huh? Wait. Naotsugu...Have you gotten bigger again?"

"No way...That's a suit of armor." Naotsugu said to Maryelle, who was hugging the empty armor.

While he was saying that, Akatsuki, and Nayu, were running all over the building trying to get away from Henrietta who had the kimonos in her hands.

"Put it on!" Henrietta said.

"I refuse!" Akatsuki said.

Nayu began to speed up her running. "Beside, it's not even that time to wear kimonos."

"Put it on!" Henrietta said again.

"No!" Nayu and Akatsuki said running through a curve.

While that was going on, two more members had just entered the building.

"Hey, everyone's here." A voice said.

Although everyone stopped too look at the guest, Nayu, who was running too fast, tripped on her own feet and fell on top of one of the guest at the entrance.

"Ow." The person said.

Nayu pushed herself up as she held her forehead in pain. "Ow...Sorry about that..."

She looked down and notice that she fell on top of the guild master of the West Wind Brigade.

"Ah Soujiro!" Nayu said getting off of him. "Sorry, are you okay?"

"Yeah." Soujiro said.

Nayu stood up and held a hand down to Soujiro, which he accepted as she pulled him up.

"Hi Shiroe, Naotsugu." The other voice said.

"Souji! Nazuma!" Nyanta said walking in. "Welcome."

"Hey there, chief." Nazuma said.

Akatsuki looked over to Shiroe. "Do you know them, my lord?"

"Yep, Nazuma was also in the Tea Party." Shiroe explained.

"This is for you." Nazuma said giving a barrel to Nyanta. "Cherry sake from our brewmaster."

"I can't wait to try it." Nyanta said carrying the barrel.

"This guild hall is amazing..." Soujiro said looking around.

"Really..." Maryelle added. "It must've cost a fortune."

"Not at all, Look..." Shiroe pointed at the tree in the center. "That tree destroyed the elevator hallway and stairs, so it was abandoned and quite cheap. It's far from the city center, too."

"What did you do about the stairs and flooring?" Henrietta asked.

"I asked Michitaka..." Shiroe said remembering the talk with Michitaka.

"In other words, they don't know the appropriate prices for anything in this world?" Henrietta asked.

'Our economic system still has many holes.' Henrietta thought.

"Issac, from the Black Sword Knights, was also here!" Naotsugu said remembering Issac's visit.

"So, the Black Swords came here..." Soujiro said.

"They aren't all that bad." Nyanta added.

The day soon became the afternoon and the guest were starting to leave.

"We're making a huge bath area now. Come over when it's done, okay?" Soujiro asked.

"Yeah." Shiroe answered.

"See you soon, Akatsuki, Nayu..." Henrietta said. "When we can take our time!"

While looking over at the two, Henrietta was able to dress the two up into the kimonos. As Henrietta began to exit the building, Nayu and Akatsuki both shook their heads no to Henrietta.

"Shiroe, you've built a lovely house." Maryelle said kindly.

From hearing that, Shiroe smiled which Nyanta noticed.

"See you!" Nazuma said leaving with Soujiro.

"We'll be going, too." Maryelle said.

But before they left, Shiroe stopped them.

"Are Tohya and Minori doing well?" Shiroe asked.

"Eh, ah...Haven't they told you yet?" Henrietta said.

By the looks of Shiroe's face, he wasn't told anything.

"Nothing! See you soon, Shiroe." Maryelle said as she leaves with Henrietta.

"Sure..." Shiroe said a bit dazed.

Inside the guild building, Akatsuki was cleaning a board while Nayu was cleaning the 2nd floor with a broom. They both look to notice Nyanta with bags going out.

"Are you going shopping, master?" Akatsuki asked.

"Buying stuff for dinner." Nyanta said.

Nayu leaned on the railing looking down at the two. "I guess since we moved in, we need a welcoming food, right."

"Tonight, it's everyone's favorite, curry." Nyanta announced.

By hearing that, Akatsuki was happy and Nayu jumped down from her floor in excitement.

"My lord, we're having curry tonight!" Akatsuki said.

"It's the most delicious dish ever!" Nayu exclaim.

"What? Curry?!" Shiroe said coming with a crate. "I love curry! Hey Naotsugu...It's curry tonight!"

"Seriously?" Naotsugu said going down the stairs."Yahoo!"

"Bye." Nyanta said going out of the building.

"Bye!" Everyone said excited.

"Curry...It's been so long...Curry!" Akatsuki said.

"I'm honestly not sure which is better...Curry or bo-" Naotsugu said.

Soon after, he got a kneed to the face and stomach into the trunk by Nayu and Akatsuki.

"Don't say perverted things Naotsugu!" Nayu said a bit red.

"My lord, may I roundhouse kick this perver-" Akatsuki said.

Naotsugu held both his face and stomach in pain. "For once, let me finish!"

"Don't compare curry with something perverted." Both girls said.

"The chief's curry is for grown ups...It's spicy." Naotsugu turned to Akatsuki. "Can you eat it, Shrimp?"

"It is?" Akatsuki said worried.

"I can handle mild spicy, but I don't know about really spicy..." Nayu said looking to the side.

While they were talking, Shiroe was looking at them while thinking of something. He soon remembered the memory when Akatsuki, Nayu, and Naotsugu were waiting at the tree trunk area for him.

Eventually a tap on the shoulder made him come back to the real world. When he turned around, it was Nayu who tapped him on the shoulder.

"This fight is getting childish..." Nayu said. "May I sit down with you?"

Shiroe just nodded his head as they both watch the argument unfold.

"No mild curry!" Naotsugu exclaim.

"Spicy is out of the question." Akatsuki said.

Shiroe and Nayu were getting tired of the argument until a voice interrupted. "I'm back."

Everyone looked over to see Nyanta back.

"You're back already, master?" Akatsuki asked.

But he had nothing in his hands for cooking.

"Huh?" Nayu said. "His bag is empty?"

"Is the curry party off?" Naotsugu said worried.

Nyanta walked up with two surprise visitors at his sides. "I found them wandering around the building, so I brought them up."

"Tohya! Minori!" Shiroe said standing up. "I heard that the Crescent Moon Alliance was moving today."

"Um..." Minori said.

"Actually mister..." Tohya said. "Um, well..."

"Isn't it obvious Shiroe." Nayu walked in front of them. "They want to join us, am I right?"

"We'd also like you and Nayu to teach us." Minori said. "This past week, the Crescent moon Alliance was very good to us, but we haven't join them!"

"We made it this far thanks to what you taught us. If you've made a guild, we want to be in it! I may be weak now, but I'll get stronger!" Tohya exclaimed.

"Me too! I may slow you down, but...I decided not to use that as a excuse anymore! Let us join you!" Minori added.

"Well...Uh..." Shiroe said stuttered.

"Shiroe...Don't just stand there." Nyanta said. "You're a guild master."

'A guild master...A guild master?' Shiroe thought shocked. 'The leader of a guild...Right. I am. Now...It's my turn to lead everyone.'

"Okay, Log Horizon welcomes you. Tohya and Minori!" Shiroe said. "As new members, your first mission is to eat curry with the leaders. Got it?"

"Mister..." Tohya said.

"Yeah!" Minori added.

"Actually, it isn't done yet." Nyanta said.

Nyanta soon headed back out and came back with the actual ingredients to cook curry. When it was time to eat, everyone was outside around a camp fire.

"It's great!" Naotsugu exclaim eating the curry.

"Yeah, nothing beats curry under a night sky." Akatsuki added looking up.

"It may be great eating curry, but it's the best seeing the stars while eating." Nayu said.

"I just wish I has something to go with it...Next time, I'll make some curry relish." Nyanta said.

"I love you, chief!" Naotsugu exclaim.

While everyone was eating, Akatsuki noticed that Shiroe wasn't eat but looking at the guild. They also didn't notice Nayu was in serious thought and stopped eating.

'We came to this world a few days ago...Tomorrow is my birthday...' Nayu thought sadly.
