As Smackdown's main event was coming to an end Jon and Chloe were backstage together. The two had been there two hours before Smackdown had started, wandering around backstage to find people that they needed to talk to and attend production and storyline meetings. Chloe stood up and started to pull her jacket on as Jon picked up his bag when he got up.
"So do you think we could hang out tomorrow? Or are you busy already?" Chloe turned her head towards him and smiled.
"I'm not doing anything later on as far as I know, the Nikki and Brie wanted to take me to breakfast and then go shopping or something. Why, what do you wanna do?" She turned to him fully and zipped her jacket before picking up her duffle bag and swinging it over her shoulder.
"I haven't actually thought that far." Jon laughed at himself and Chloe smiled at him again. "Just hang out and get fat I guess, it's your birthday."
She laughed at him; "If you want to, sure. Come by tomorrow afternoon? I should be back by at least one, or is that too late?"
"That's fine, I'll give you a call before I go over." They smiled at each other before leaving.
The next day Chloe spent the entire morning with Nikki and Brie. They went to a coffee shop first that morning around nine; from there to various shops around town where the three talked and looked at everything. Finally at 12:30 they made it back to the hotel and carried various bags of random things they bought earlier.
"I feel like I bought too much." Nikki looked at how many more bags she was carrying and Chloe laughed.
"No, it was just more expensive." Brie smiled as Chloe teased Nikki about how much everything she bought costed.
As the three got out of the elevator on their floor Nikki and Brie hugged Chloe, saying happy birthday.
"Well happy birthday Chloe!" Brie hugged her first followed by Nikki.
"Yeah! Happy birthday!"
Chloe smiled and hugged them back; "Thanks you guys, I had a great time!"
When Chloe went into her room she placed her bags at the end of her bed before looking to see what time it was. She took a quick shower and changed into a pair of whitewashed skinny jeans and a tank top before her phone rang, she knew it was Jon but still checked.
"Hey!" He could hear her smile and laughed to himself.
"Hey, I'm gonna go over now?" He said more like a question and Chloe smiled.
"Yeah, sure." They said goodby and moments later Jon was at her door, knocking.
Chloe pulled it open and smiled up at him before giving him and hug, which he returned right away as he said happy birthday to her. She shut the door behind him once they pulled away from each other and he came in. Jon walked straight into her kitchen and she followed him, he grabbed the room service booklet and flipped through it.
"What are you looking for exactly?" Chloe grinned as she walked up behind him and looked around him to see.
"Something sweet?" Jon asked and he felt her nod her head and saw her point at some type of cake at the bottom of the page. "Is that what you want?"
She looked up at him and gave him a smile smile and he laughed at her before grabbing the phone and calling down for it. Almost 20 minutes later their junk food arrived and they were on her bed eating. By three everything was gone and they were watching the tv in silence. Until five that's all the did, every once in a while they talked. When five finally came around Jon got up and told her that he needed to leave and she frowned before giving him a hug goodbye.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked and he nodded before he walked out.
Twenty minutes after Jon left there was another knock at Chloe's door and she stood up confused to answer it. When she pulled it open there was a young man standing there with two white boxes in his hands. She raised an eyebrow at him and he smiled.
"I was told to give these to you and to tell you to use them before going down to the lobby in an hour." He handed Chloe the boxes and walked away after she had them.
She watched him walk off in confusion before shutting the door and putting the boxes on the end of her bed. She pulled the cover off one and moved the tissue paper out of the way to see a black and red dress in the box. Black and red. She stared at the dress in her hands for more than five minutes before realizing where she's seen it before. It was the same exact dress in her dream, she laid it down on the comforter as quickly as she could before she ripped the cover off the smaller box. Shoes. The same shoes as before. Everything was identical, why?
After debating whether or not she should actually change into the dress she finally did. She pulled her hair into a bum on the top of her head and curled what was left out of it. As she looked at herself in the mirror again she couldn't believe that she was actually wearing the dress this time. But who sent it? Sure she had an idea as to who, but how could he have known about it? Did he know at all?
She left her room with her phone and black clutch before going down to the lobby. As she stepped out she glanced around quickly and thankfully saw Jon standing patiently for her. She'd been nervous that someone was messing with her and she'd look like a fool, but Jon was there in a suit and tie waiting just like before. She smiled at him and he had to hold his mouth shut as he looked at her.
"You look amazing." He grinned and her cheeks turned pink. "Shall we get going?"
"Where to, may I ask?" She asked as he held his arm out for her.
"That I can't tell you, you'll have to wait." He smirked and Chloe glared at him. "Glare all you want, I'm not telling you."
Moments later her helped her into his car and he pulled out of the parking lot. Twenty minutes later they pulled into a restaurant parking lot and Chloe looked around surprised, it was beautiful. Jon opened her door to help her out before walking her into the restaurant. After Jon checked the reservation a waiter took them to a table outside and have them menus before walking off.
"You really didn't need to do this, Jon." Chloe said as she looked over the menu Jon held in front of his face.
"I wanted to." He smiled as he tipped the menu down to look at her. "Look and see what you want. And happy birthday Chloe."
He lifted the menu up again and she sighed before opening hers. It felt so odd to be going through this again, and in the almost exact same way. A few minutes later the same water came back and took their orders and left. Chloe was giving Jon a look as he took a sip of his drink, he raised an eyebrow at her and smiled.
"Yes?" She shook her head as she smiled.
"Why? Like what's with all this? I wouldn't have thought you'd do this sort of thing." Jon's looked at the table cloth and smiled.
"Not for anyone else, no. But for you I would." Chloe's cheeks started to burn as she smiled at him. "I really like you, and I have for a while actually. I didn't know how to tell you, plus I always back out when I try to. So I asked Colby to help me plan something that we could do and so I couldn't really back out of it."
"Colby helped? That was nice of him." Chloe's voice turned to ice, and even though she tried to hide it Jon noticed it.
"Yeah he did." Jon couldn't look at her because if she figured at that he knew she might as well hate him.
"I take it you know?" Her voice made him jump slightly and he quickly looked up before nodding. "Well that's fantastic, I can't tell anyone anything anymore am I? Of course not. He told me he'd stop worrying about it and leave it alone, but of course he didn't."
She turned away and stared off into the trees behind the restaurant. Her eyes started to brim with tears and she picked up a napkin to make sure it didn't ruin her make up. She was beyond pissed at Colby, not only did he lie straight to her face but he told Jon something she made him promise not to. He broke her trust and she planned on breaking him.
"Chloe?" Jon's voice was quiet and she looked at him through her lashes and smiled sadly at him.
"Don't worry about it, I'm not mad at you or anything. Just, I don't know." Jon reached for her hand and grabbed onto it.
"Don't be mad at Colby." He trailed off and she gave him a look. "He was doing what he thought was right. And if he hadn't told me I would've found out anyways, because I planned on asking you this whether or not I went through with this whole date thing or whatever."
Chloe quirked an eyebrow at him and he smiled. "This is awkward as all hell for me but I wanted to ask if you'd want to be, like, my you know?"
"You know? You know you have to actually say if or you won't get an answer." Chloe smirked at him and he laughed before looked at her again.
"Will you be my girlfriend is what I'm asking." Jon smiled at her as she nodded her head.
"At least one good thing came out of tonight, right?" Chloe looked up at Jon as the waiter came by with their food and she smiled up at the waiter before her left, Jon gave her a sad smile when she turned back to him.
Now Colby wouldn't be so lucky, his night was just about to turn into hell. Chloe was sure of it.
