This entire time I still didn't know her name and I hadn't introduced myself, I am so overwhelmed I don't know what to do. She had paused by the filing cabinet and had a look of anxiety but I wasn't sure because I still couldn't feel her.
"What is it love?" if I can fix her anxiety I would do it in a heartbeat.
"If I told you something embarrassing and said I didn't want to talk about it would you drop it and help me?"
"Yes!" if it meant that much to her to no talk about it right now; hopefully sometime in the future she would tell me why.
"I can't…read… would you help me?" that's not that bad I knew lots of people who couldn't read, of course I'm from a time were that was common and education was little to none if you grow up on a farm.
"Of course, what are we looking for?" if she had no doctors name then what were we looking for.
"Jane Doe, the record would be at least 2 years long maybe more"
"Why are we looking for a Jane Doe?" I thought she was looking for her doctor?
"Because my doctor will be in my file right?" she asked as if she didn't know.
"Yes… are you saying you don't know who you are?" what happen to her, does she not know her own name?
"It's complicated my doctor said I was in and out of a comatose state and well I was here I was incapable of talking so they didn't know who I was." That's as far as she looked like she was willing to get into, of course there will be more in her file which she has allowed me to read.
"Eirik Hagen, that's who your doctor was?" I've actually run into him and had some words, I was in somewhat of a bad place at the time so I didn't leave the best impression.
"Is that what it says?" she looked confused like she knew what was really on the file.
"No it says Gorge Dakin but I know that as one of his aliases." Yep she knew his name, why would she lie.
"So you know him?" she asked and got really excited.
My god her file was graphic who would do something like this to a child? It says she was around 13 when she was found on the door step of the hospital and that was 4 years ago. She's been back and forth between a in home care program and here at the hospital for medical treatments, the entire time she was in a coma.
Eirik is her primary doctor and has guardianship over her; she's legally his daughter but why? What would he want with her, his gift is telepathy, he can talk to you with his mind. She was is in a coma and she said he would come in to talk to her but his gift only works one way. He can talk to you but you cant talk back that why she could never answer him.
"Do you know how to find my doctor?" if he's talked to her for the last 4 years then she should know way more the she's claiming.
"No I don't but you do don't you?"
