Hi guys !

this chapter is somewhat of an 'Intermission' chapter, which will lead to another intermission chapter in chapter 12 before the gang is forced back into their usual problems, usually this would be posted in 'Wicked Fans Sidestories' but that has been getting little views lately, so I decided to post the two intermission chapter in the main story.

NOTE: This takes place around a week and a half after Chapter 10.

I originally planned for this to be 1-2000 words max, but it kind of flew of the handle XD

NOTE: The Park featured in this chapter is an actual one near where I live, called Jamberoo Recreation Park. And I have been on the rides and other things mentioned, and Fiyero's little section near the end actually happened to me ( and it gave me bruises )

Adam had decided for the benefit of the group, that they would take some time off and spend the day at a water park.

He had loaded them all up into a van which they had bought especially for this occasion.

"I still don't get why you would just buy a van that we're only going to use once" Elphaba said from the front row of seats.

Adam who was in the driver seat answered.

"Well we probably will use it at least more than once, besides it's not putting me out of pocket now is it dearie" he said before turning to look at the others.

"Now remember, no use of powers at all" Adam said before waving his hand and the group all felt a small tingle in their stomachs.

"That will alert me to any of you using your abilities" he said before turning to Shaun.

"And that goes double for you, no powers and absolutely no magic" he said sternly, Shaun crossed his arms and grumbled slightly.

"Oh come on, your just grumpy cause Rose had to work and isn't coming with us" Rae said as she elbowed her brother in the arm.

"Not true" he said calmly.

"Hah, I'm sure it also has nothing to do with wanting to see her in her bathing suit, right lad?" Adam said teasingly.

Shaun's cheeks grew pink slightly, as everyone else present snickered and giggled at his expense.

"D-Dad!"

Everyone laughed again at his embarrassment; Elphaba however stuck her head out the window.

"Come on Fiyero we won't wait wall day!" she cried out.

Fiyero however was looking for his cap that he had bought the day before specifically for the trip, he had left it in Shaun's Lair when he had been in their playing cards the night before and was now hurriedly looking for it.

"Aha, there it is!" he cried rushing over and grabbing it off the desk, in his haste he didn't realise he had knocked over a red potion vile, the contents dripping into a mug of tea on the desk.

"Coming!" he shouted before running up the stairs.

After about half an hour of driving, which consisted of several complaints about why they couldn't just teleport there, Fiyero losing twenty games of 'eye spy', and how Nagisa kept pointing out punch buggies and punching the nearest person in the arm, thus Hope was not happy at being seated next to the red head.

Finally upon arrival the gang all piled out of the van, Elphaba had luckily been de-greenified before they left so there was no problem there, and they all made their way to the front entrance.

"You know I'm surprised you and Adam didn't wear suits to come today?" Jane said to Shaun with a small smirk.

"….Glinda wouldn't let us" he said after a few moments silence, causing Jane to look over at the blonde who smiled triumphantly.

Shaun was wearing an open light blue shirt over a white singlet, and grey shorts that reached past his knee.

Adam was wearing a tan t shirt that had medium length sleeves and was buttoned up and a pair of long dark blue jeans.

"It looks ….unnatural; especially since we haven't seen you dress like that since when we first went to Oz" Julie said as her eyes darted between the two, who merely exchanged questioning glances.

After paying and passing through the entrance they entered the park, Fiyero gasped at the sight of the large artificial beach that had been created near the entrance, it even had a wave generator.

"Ok, now I want everyone to pair up" Adam said before placing a bag down onto the ground and turning to the group.

"Don't get into any trouble, and I want everyone back here by-" he began before being cut off as everyone ran past him not bothering to listen to his instructions.

"Fine, or you could all just run off" he grumbled before turning to see Glinda standing there, pink sunglasses on her face as she placed a white wide brimmed sun hat on her head.

"Looks like it's just you and me" Glinda said with a smile.

"... That can work" he said after a short pause.

Rae had gone off with Julie and they had elected to get ice cream before anything else. Luckily the café area was close to the entrance and actually sat above the artificial beach, the water going deeper and deeper until reaching a wall. The café was on the left side of the wall which surrounded the beach.

"Won't we get cramps?" Julie asked.

"Not if we eat it my way"

"Which is?"

Rae turned to her with a grin.

"Eat it all and hope you don't get cramps"

Julie resisted the urge to pace palm at the explanation.

Upon getting their ice creams they both sat at a bench and looked down at people bobbing up and down, some were using flotation donuts to stay afloat.

Rae suddenly found her ice cream snatched out of her hand by an older boy who looked around Shaun's age, he was tall with short cut brown hair.

"Hey that's mine!" Rae shouted as she stood up and tried to grab it back, only for the boy to hold it up out of reach.

"Oh really, well if it is, just reach up and take it" he said cockily as Rae tried to but couldn't due to his height advantage.

'Oh I wish I could use my telekinesis right now, this guy would regret ever taking my frozen deliciousness!' she thought angrily.

"Hey give it back you jerk!" Julie said as she got up and stood next to Rae with a frown.

"And what are you two going to do if I don't, hahaha" the boy said cockily.

"Is there a problem"

They three turned to see Shaun standing there with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, this guy took my ice cream and is being a huge jerk!" Rae said as she stood next to Shaun.

Shaun leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"Watch this" he whispered.

"But Adam said no magic" she whispered back.

Shaun smirked and walked over to the other boy.

"Sorry about them, my sister can act like a little baby sometime, she doesn't know how to take a joke" he said with a grin.

"Hey!" Rae cried.

The other boy grinned at her reaction.

"Hey have you seen the sweet looking lifeguard over by the wave pool" Shaun said with a grin, the other boy smiled back.

"Nah, where I she?" he said turning towards the artificial beach and looking around.

"She's over at the sand part" he said pointing in a random direction, the boy walked closer up against the bar which stopped people from falling down into the deeper area of the wave pool.

"Can't see her" the boy said looking around puzzled.

"Here let me lend you a hand!" Shaun exclaimed as he grabbed the boys shirt and flipped him over the bar, sending him falling down into the water.

The two girls started laughing hysterically at the sight of the annoying boy sputtering around in the water and a male life guard started yelling at him for supposedly jumping in from a dangerous height.

"Didn't need magic for that, now did I" Shaun said smiling at the two.

Nia, Nagisa and Holly were all floating on flotation donuts as they were on a ride called 'The River Rapids'.

Holly however had a double donut which allowed her to recline back as the waters current propelled them along through the course at a moderate speed.

"Not exactly 'rapids' are they" Nia said slightly bored.

"No, but it's not that bad, It's kind of relaxing" Holly said as she closed her eyes.

Nagisa looked over at Nia with a grin before sinking under the water leaving her donut behind, creeping up on Holly she suddenly flew up from the water and flipped the young woman upside down into the water from her donut.

A few moments later a sputtering Holly emerged, taking a few seconds before turning to the two girls as she tried to stand firmly against the waters current.

"You two-" she tried to say only to get hit in the face by a flotation donut, causing her to fall back into the water.

"Hahahaha, good one Nia!" Nagisa cheered high fiving her, only for Nia to suddenly swing a flotation donut around and knock Nagisa down into the water as well.

"It's every woman for themselves!" she declared.

"So that's how you want to play?" Holly said mischievously as she now held a donut on each arm and swung them towards Nia who ducked down into the water, the water being slightly safer but offering little in terms of camouflage do to it being clear.

"You can't hold your breath forever!" Holly declared following Nia's body from above the water.

Only to be knocked down from Nagisa who had snuck up behind her.

Adam and Glinda were taking a break after having spent some time going on the water slides, and even on the water slide racing where the competitors would slide down the slides on mats racing one another.

They were now back on the artificial beach connected to the wave pool, Glinda lying down on a pink towel and Adam on a blue one.

However they were interrupted by a tall man who looked to be in his early thirties with brown hair that looked suspiciously like a certain ice cream thief.

His cocky smirk was directed towards Glinda.

"Hey babe, what say you and me go and have some fun" he said as Glinda looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Um, excuse me?"

"Come on, I'm sure your dad here won't mind" he said nodding towards Adam who was now glaring at the man and about the get up and give him a piece of his mind, however Glinda seemed to beat him to it.

Glinda let out a shocked gasp before standing up and glaring at the man who was much taller than she was.

"I'll have you know he is my friend, and I certainly wouldn't leave him to go and have any kind of 'fun' with you whatsoever, so you can just leave us alone" she said firmly.

The man's expression soured before scoffed at her.

"Hah, your loss than you stuck up bitch" he said arrogantly before turning and walking off.

Glinda stood their opened mouth in shock at what he had called her and was about to go after him before Adam stood up.

"That disrespectful pig needs to learn to mind his manners in the presence of a lady" he growled, and how dare that oaf think that he could talk to Glinda that way.

"I think it's time he learn a lesson in Humility" Adam said with a wicked grin as he waved his hand in the man's direction.

Instantly several women's screams were heard as well as parents covering their children's eye's as Glinda covered her mouth half in shock and half in humour as the rude man's swimming trunks had disappeared and he now was naked.

He instantly tried to cover himself as several parents were yelling angrily at him about there being children present and other such things, and soon he found himself running from a life guard and security that were chasing him away from the area.

"I thought you said no powers, or magic?" Glinda said raising an eyebrow while she smiled.

"Technically I said that the children couldn't use their abilities, I said nothing about me, dearie" he said with a smile.

"Besides, you don't deserve to be spoken to in such a way" he said seriously.

"Thank you" Glinda said as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug, Adam looked startled for a few moments before gladly returning it.

Jane, Hope, Elora and Elphaba were now standing second in line to ride 'The Taipan' it comprised of two long tunnels that were shaped to look like Taipan snakes, and up to five people could ride in each tunnel at a time, they would sit in a raft and go down the tunnels in darkness as the raft twisted and curved down before finally exiting at the bottom into a pool where the rafts would be carried back up without anyone inside.

"So does this ride technically need five?" Elphaba asked one of the life guard attendants who were grabbing a raft for them.

"No ma'am, but that is the maximum number that can fit" he said as Elphaba sat down in the raft next to Elora, Hope and Jane hoped in and they were about to be pushed towards the entrance when they felt another dip in the raft as someone entered.

"Wooh, just in time" Shaun said as he got in the raft, one of the younger lifeguards sent him a small frown as he had splashed them when entering, and he merely flashed a small smile before they were moved towards the entrance, her frown twisted into a smile in return.

"So this isn't dangerous right?" Elphaba said as they were about to be submerged in the dark of the tunnel.

"Oh no, not at all" Shaun said before frowning.

"Except for my friend who went down solo once, he tried to get the raft to go all the way up and loop around the tunnel, he fell short and was stuck under the raft as it went down, he got grazes and bruises everywhere" Shaun said frowning.

"Wait what!?" Hope exclaimed before they were sent down the tunnel.

"WOOH!"

Fiyero meanwhile had gone solo in his attempts to ride the toboggan's, it required you to get on a chairlift and go right up to the top of a large hill above the entire park, and there you would get a toboggan to ride down a metal curved slide which could fit one person at a time, the toboggan itself had a small seat and leg joints, as well as a steering shift to control your speed, other than that you were given no safety equipment.

Fiyero decided on going on the 'fast' lane which was next to the only other lane which was the normal one, despite being only big enough for one at a time, people were able to go down soon after another person had gone, as long as they were careful to slow up when reaching the person in front of them.

"Just remember to follow the signs instructions on the way down, and be sure to slow up to avoid slamming into another person in front if they are going slower" the attendant said before Fiyero took off down the track.

He leaned down on the steering shift as his speed slowly increased by the downward momentum of the hill.

Leaning to the left he turned with the track as his speed kept increasing, he flew past a sign without care to read it.

Turning to the right he swerved into a right turn of the track, laughing as the wind swept through his hair and waved at a person going over head on the chair lift, he didn't pay any attention to the next sign that he went past, and continued on, looking ahead he saw a sharp left hand turn and paid no mind as he sped towards it.

Until he came to the turn.

Because of his speed and momentum he wasn't able to make the turn and instead went flying off the track, his toboggan coming lose and landing on the ground before he made contact with the sold ground and grunted as he bounced slightly before slamming into it yet again, coming to rest on his stomach.

Groaning in pain he managed to slowly pick himself up, dirt and grass stains all over his clothing as he stood up, cracking his back slightly he inspected his left shoulder which had slammed into the ground to see it grazed and bruised with a large patch of dirt across it, hissing at the feeling of the bruise he looked up to see one of the familiar signs.

'Slow Down Before Turns!'

"Well that could have been a bit more advertised" he said to himself.

He managed to get his toboggan back on the track and made his way to the end, however getting an annoyed glare from a slightly older man at the bottom for colliding with the back of his toboggan.

The group all made their way to the exit, all of them seemingly tired and worn out from today's activities; Elphaba had berated Fiyero upon seeing his bruised and battered form and refused to heal him with Magic, saying that he needed to learn a lesson.

The final ride they had all went on before leaving was the 'Funnel Web' which was a large slide which four people would go down on a raft, it sped up before coming to a large bowl where the raft would swing up and around several times before going down into a small hole and speeding down a tunnel before coming to a sudden drop and landing in a pool at the bottom.

Everyone had gone in groups until they had all had there turns, the highlights were when Glinda's Hat flew off during her groups turn and smacked into Elphaba's face, and when the other group of them went Shaun had almost been flung out of the raft by the force of it flying up the side of the bowl, luckily he had been able to hold on and pull himself back in.

Everyone was now happily and tiredly sitting in the van as they all drove back home, Adam having revealed on the drive back that the enchantment he had cast to monitor if they used their powers, was also a recording spell which meant that when they got home he could transfer the events onto photos and video for their enjoyment.

( Several Hours Later )

Everyone was enjoying watching the replays of the day's events, especially Fiyero's blunders and the entitled 'Epic Floaty Donut War of All Time' by Nia.

As the others watched in enjoyment, Shaun quickly rushed down to his Lair, he was not looking for anything important, merely grabbing some cups and bowls that he had used the night before when he and Fiyero were playing cards.

He saw a Mug on the desk and picked it up, seeing that there was some tea left in it he quickly drank it.

"Oohh, cold tea" he grimaced slightly before his tongue washed around his mouth as he tasted something else.

"Hmmmm, Cherry Flavour?" he said before a loud crash was heard as he dropped the dishes.

"What was that?!" Elphaba exclaimed as she heard the sound.

"It came from downstairs" Adam said as everyone got up and rushed to the stairs that led to Shaun's lair.

"Shaun! Are you alright?" Adam exclaimed as everyone entered the room.

A sight caught everyone's eye; it was Shaun's clothing, only it was lying on the ground with a small lump in it.

Suddenly the lump shifted and a head came out of the top.

It looked like a young boy of about four or five, a very familiar looking boy with tanned brown skin, dark hair and brown eyes.

"S-Shaun?" Adam asked, the boy turned and his eyes lit up at seeing Adam.

"Daddy!" he cried happily.

"Oh no not this again!" Rae cried out as she had been filled in about the previous time this had happened with her being turned into a toddler by the others, her memories of the time were still fuzzy.

Shaun's eyes darted the Rae and he instantly ran over toward her and latched onto her with excitement.

"Sissy!" he cried out as he buried his head into her legs.

Rae stared down in confusion; her brain seemed to be shut down as she looked at the others with wide eyes.

Shaun leaned back and raised his arms up towards her.

"Up Up!"

Rae slowly leaned down, still half dazed in confusion as the younger boy latched onto her neck and she stood up, him still holding onto her with a big grin on his face.

Adam meanwhile stared at the Mug on the ground and lifted it to his face, he inhaled slightly and noticed a certain foreign scent and immediately looked over at the desk, and he saw a knocked over red potion vial and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Fiyero!" Elphaba exclaimed angrily as she connected the dots together, he was the last person down there that morning and had in his haste, unknowingly caused this.

"Uuum…Oops?" he replied nervously.

Ok, how was that ?

This will lead over into 'Intermission chapter 2' before the story is thrown full swing back into a mini arc that will be called the 'Beauty and the Beast' arc which chronicles how My character and Rose first met, as well as their struggles in the present.

Glinda pulled the blanket up over the two of them as Shaun snuggled closer to her, his younger body curling up against her as he let out a small yawn, his eyes began to droop and close slowly as rested against Glinda.

"Goodnight..." he said tiredly.

"...Mama"

Glinda's eyes widened with shock as she glanced down at him, his eyes completely shut as he was already asleep.

She felt her eyes grow damp with moisture before she blinked it away and tried to contain her emotions, she sniffled slightly before smiling and leaning down she planted a kiss onto his forehead.

"Goodnight, My Little Kangaroo"

Glinda looked at Shaun as he leaned against the door frame, she shifted slightly nervously.

"So you...remember all that?"

Shaun smiled slightly.

"Just because the Boy didn't remember being me, doesn't mean I don't remember being the boy"

Shaun brought a hand up to rub the back of his neck as he stumbled over his words, he usually wasn't this nervous.

"Well it's just- I mean I...I just wanted to know...I-If it wasn't..." he stumbled before taking a deep exhale and looking Glinda in the eyes.

"W-Would it be Ok,...If I called you Mum?"

Nia gave a huge grin as she held up a camera.

"Uuum, what is that?" Shaun asked.

"Its all the 'oh so memorable' moments of your temporary toddler-hood, that Adam converted to film for us" she said smirking.

Shaun nearly fell over in shock.

"N-Now come on Nia, there really isn't a need to-"

"COME ON GUYS ITS TIME FOR MOVIE NIGHT!" she screamed before running out of the room quickly.

"Nia!"
