Chapter 11
"So you wanna play with magic? Boy you should know what you're fighting for. So do you dare to do this? Because I'm coming at you like a dark horse. Are you ready for a perfect storm?" -Katy Perry We heard sounds of a fight down the royal garden, screams and swords clashing into eachother. My mother escaped the fight, just as planned. A could of purple smoke appeared before us, quickly followed by my mother herself. She looked at us, suprised by the friendlyness of the scene. "Dakota, dear, come with me." she said. Romeo pushed me protectivly behind him, it remembered me of how Lucy died. I looked at the sword in his belt, he hadn't taken it out yet. I reached out for it and wrapped my fingers around it. I slowly took it out of his belt. Romeo turned around, suprised. "This is my fight" I whispered to him, he nodded. He understood. I held the sword tightly and pointed it at my mother. She just laughed "You don't want to do that, dear". I ran towards her and threw the sword, aiming for her heart. She stopped it with magic and flicked her wrist. Suddenly I felt like I couldn't breath. "You should've listened to me" my mother said. The next thing is for remember is complete silence and complete darkness to follow.
I woke up by soft lips touching mine. I felt a brush of air going through my hair. I opened my eyes, Romeo was the one that kissed me. I was back in my cell in my mothers castle. I realised that everything that just happend was a dream. Yes, Lucy had died. But she wasn't an angel, I never fell down, ther had never been a white rabit, Jefferson was still a prisinor in the castle and I never fought my mother. It had all been a dream, a dream to make me realise I could never be truely free, not as long as I stayed loyal to my mother. "Dakota" Romeo said. "You were under a sleeping curse, you mother. She had cursed you." "How... How did you get here?" "I heard of the curse, I had to come to you. I couldn't leave you." he spoke like Jefferson when he told about his daughter. That reminded me of something, I knew how to get the hat to work. I jumped up. "We have to go to Jefferson!" I screamed. Romeo frowned, but didn't ask. "Let's go then, follow me" he said as he walked to the window. I hadn't realised it was open, until now.
