Sebastian stared up at Thad from his place where his head was resting on his lap. He was acting weird.
"Babe?"
Thad stared ahead at the TV still, "Yeah?"
"Nothing… Just, you know, making sure you're still awake… You're being super quiet…"
"Yeah, just watching… I've had so much homework lately, I needed a break…"
Sebastian stared up at him as they went silent again before he closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. Relax, Sebastian… You're just overreacting… He won't pull away… Things will be different this time… Don't get weird or he really will pull away…
He slowly looked at the TV. He started to feel needy… He never had friends before and Thad was a friend. He didn't want to lose him. But he didn't wanna push Thad into this friendship. He wanted Thad to be running his fingers through his hair right now. He wanted Thad to be laughing as they shared stories. He wanted to stay up all night, talking. But Thad seemed distant today. And he didn't know why. It was breaking his heart.
Sebastian stared at Thad who was picking up his pyjamas off Sebastian's chair, "Thad?"
"Yeah, Seb?"
"C-Can I say something?"
Thad stopped in his tracks as he was making his way to the bathroom. Did Sebastian Smythe just stutter?
"Of course you can…" Thad looked at the taller boy and slowly walked over to the bed, gently sitting on the edge, looking at him.
Sebastian sighed quietly, ducking his head slightly, "You're my best friend, Thad…"
Thad's head cocked, staring at him.
"You mean a lot to me… And fuck, I don't know… It's weird, man! I don't like people! But I like you…" he paused, rubbing the back of his neck, "I mean, I've never really wanted to keep someone around but I like you… Fuck it, I don't know. It's really stupid and weird… I probably sound like a weirdo. Listen, I'm not, like, gonna become creepily obsessed with you and dye my hair and copy your style and-" He was quickly cut off as Thad hugged him tightly, closing his eyes.
Sebastian's eyes widened quickly, looking at Thad. He wasn't used to hugs… But it actually felt pretty good. He slowly wrapped his arms around Thad's waist, hugging back.
"Don't freak out, Seb… You're my best friend too…" He smiled against Sebastian's shoulder, "And I definitely don't think you're gonna want to be me." He let out a soft giggle as he realized where Sebastian's train of thought was going.
He slowly smiled as he heard the smaller boy giggle. It was rare to hear that sound. Thad liked to be mature and hearing him giggle made Sebastian's chest swell with pride. He got to hear Thad Harwood giggle.
Thad pulled away gently, smiling, "That was really sweet, Seb…"
Sebastian looked at the boy with a straight face before forcing a small smile, "Tell anyone I have emotions and I'll kill you."
The shorter boy rolled his eyes, smiling fondly, "Your secret is safe with me, Seb, don't worry." He kissed his cheek quickly as he got up. "I'm gonna go put these pyjamas on and then we can continue our night!"
Sebastian slowly smiled, watching Thad walk into the bathroom and close the door. He didn't pull away…
Sebastian groaned quietly as his alarm went off, rubbing his face sleepily as his other arm was holding Thad to his chest. He groaned quietly, blindly reaching onto the nightstand before grabbing his phone and lifting it to his line of view before turning it off. "Fuck off," he muttered, putting it back on the nightstand before holding Thad tighter, closing his eyes again.
"Seb, we should be getting up," he heard the shorter boy mumble sleepily against his chest.
"No… Let's just skip, babe."
"Skip?!"
"Oh, come on, don't be a goody goody… Be a badboy for once…"
"I… I can't… It'll be on my permanent record! They'll know I skipped! I have no doctors note, neither of my parents would ever call me in sick… I-I can't!" Thad pulled away, the anxiety of ruining his perfect record waking him. He quickly ran into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
Sebastian groaned quietly, sitting up slowly and picked up his phone, dialling as he heard the sink turn on.
Thad ran out of the bathroom five minutes later, "Okay, okay… Where did I put my tie last night?" He looked at Sebastian who was still laying in bed, "You're still in bed?"
"Yeah… And now you can be too. Come lay with me, babe."
"Didn't you hear me earlier?"
"I did. Which is why I called you in sick. Now get in my bed."
"Wait… What?"
"I called you in sick. They said get better, by the way."
Thad slowly walked over to the bed, "Th-They fell for it?"
"Of course, babe, I'm a professional. I've been doing this for years. Come lay down."
Thad slowly crawled back into Sebastian's bed, "You're serious, right?"
"Yes, Thad. I'm not ruining your perfect record. Nobody will ever know you skipped… Except me, of course." he winked.
He rolled his eyes fondly, getting under the blanket and tucking himself back underneath Sebastian's arm as he rested his head on his chest. "Thanks, Seb…" he yawned quietly, closing his eyes.
"Anything for you, babe."
Thad squealed as he looked at the time on his phone, "I should be in class right now… But I'm not!" he bounced excitedly in his place. "I'm such a rebel, Seb! This is such a rush!" He paced in Sebastian's room, grinning excitedly as Sebastian laid on his stomach, resting his chin on his hands.
"You're such a goody goody, holy shit…" Thad quickly looked at Sebastian, placing his hands on his hips as he scowled.
"I happen to be a newfound rebel… I'm supposed to be in class… But I'm not!" His excited smile quickly returned.
"Oh, how I've changed you…"
"Well… This is a one time thing… But, it's so cool! I feel so good!"
Sebastian smiled softly, nodding slowly as he watched the boy. He was so mature but he was really letting loose in this moment. He leaned up, smiling and ran a quick hand through his hair. "Your hair is a bit too neat for a sick boy, isn't it?" Thad blushed slightly, kneeling on the edge of the bed, looking at the taller boy.
"I guess you're right…" Thad's eyes wandered upwards, going silent. Sebastian had realized over the time they spent together that this is what the shorter boy did while he was thinking and he raised an eyebrow in response as he saw it. "Maybe I should do some textbook work…"
The French boy groaned, "Ew, Thad… Don't waste your first time skipping in that way… I have an awesome idea."
"Does it involve sex?"
A minute of silence.
"Okay, let me think of something else…"
Thad groaned quietly, rolling his eyes before Sebastian grinned.
"Let's sneak out of the dorms and go out."
"Seb, no way… They'll see us…"
"Take a risk, Harwood! Come on, let's fucking do it!"
Thad stared at Sebastian as his grin became more wicked. Sometimes he resembled the Cheshire Cat… "What if they catch us?"
"Babe, I've got your back… I'll just say you need help getting to an appointment or something… Come on, we've got this! It'll be fun!"
He continued to stare at the Warbler before sighing, "Fine…"
"Fuck yeah!" The French boy pumped his fist in the air and hopped off the bed, excitedly and immediately walked to his wardrobe, randomly muttering French words to himself. Sometimes it seemed like Sebastian fell out of the English language and went back to French as if he still lived in Paris. "Get dressed, babe."
"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
"Sebastian, I need to know so I can coordinate an outfit."
"Nah, babe, you don't even have many clothes here… Just grab something and let's go!" Sebastian walked into the bathroom with his clothing.
"Sebastian Smythe isn't stripping down in front of me?" Thad called after the boy who had entered the bathroom but hadn't shut the door yet. He peeked out and stood in the doorway, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, if you want a show…" He slowly moved his hand behind his head and grabbed the back of his shirt, pulling it over his head. He made eye contact with Thad as he tossed the shirt aside before he slowly played with the waistband of his pants, not breaking eye contact.
Thad's face was flushed red and he quickly covered his face, ducking it, "Dear God, please change in the bathroom!" He shrieked.
Sebastian pouted softly before letting out a quiet chuckle, walking back in and closing the door behind himself.
Thad blushed softly as he looked around from his place in the booth, "Sebastian… Why didn't you tell me we were going to a restaurant? I feel ridiculous…"
"I think you look gorgeous in my sweater!"
"Gorgeous?"
"Sexy, I mean… I bet our waiter or waitress will be all over you." He winked, before crossing his fingers, "Here's to hoping it's a waiter."
Thad blushed, shaking his head, "Sebastian, it's a baggy sweater… I feel like everyone's judging me…"
Sebastian shook his head slowly, "You shouldn't give a fuck…" He lifted his head, locking eyes with the taller boy, "I used to give a fuck about people and now I don't and honestly? It's a lot better living that way…"
Thad watched the boy and nodded slowly, "I guess you're right, Seb…" He smiled slowly as the waiter walked up and their conversation was brought to an end.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom, okay?" Sebastian smiled as Thad nodded, waving him off before he got up, walking past the booth and towards the restroom. His phone vibrated for what felt like the 20th time. He groaned quietly, pulling out his phone and looked at it. A couple of calls from Trent and six texts. He unlocked his phone and checked the texts.
From: Trent

From: Trent
WE'LL HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT TONIGHT.
Thad was blushing furiously as he read his friends texts, shaking his head. Trent truly had a wild imagination… He shook his head, slowly texting back.
To: Trent
No, I'm not having sex… I woke up really tired and Sebastian called us in sick. He insisted. So I'm having a bit of a day off.
As he hit send, he saw the waiter walk up, smiling. "Hey…" He rubbed the back of his neck lightly, smiling shyly. "Uh, would you like a refill on your drink?"
"Oh! Yes, that would be lovely, thank you very much…"
The waiter nodded, picking up his cup, "I'll be back with your refill." He smiled, locking eyes with Thad before quickly walking off.
His phone quickly rang again and he groaned, seeing Trent's face come up on the screen. He answered slowly, "Thad Harwood speaking."
"Were you tired because Sebastian was easing you into BDSM throughout the night? I totally envision him as a dom…"
"Dom?"
"Oh, sweetie… I guess he wasn't easing you into it…" A dish clattered to the ground nearby, causing Thad to jump in his seat and Trent's tone changed completely, "Where the hell are you?"
"At a restaurant… Sebastian took me here…"
He heard a gasp through the phone, "Are you on a date right now?"
"A date? No! We're just having dinner."
"At a restaurant… Just the two of you… What are you wearing for your first date?"
Thad looked down at his outfit, blushing in embarrassment, "My dark jeans and Sebastian's sweater…"
"You're wearing his sweater?!"
"Yeah…"
"Thad. Is there something you need to tell me? If you're trying to get someone else to plan the wedding and not me, I'll be pissed…"
"Trent! There's nothing between Sebastian and I, we're just friends… Now I gotta go, okay? We'll talk tonight."
Trent whined into the phone before giving his goodbyes.
Sebastian sat down across from Thad, smiling.
"Welcome back."
"Why, thank you, Thad. I feel welcomed… You should see the weather right now! It's really coming down out there…" He looked up as the waiter walked over, holding a napkin under Thad's glass as he set it down gently on the table.
"Uh, w-would you like the bill now or would you like anything else?"
Thad looked at Sebastian to see the taller boy already looking at him, "Would you like any dessert, Thad? This is your day, buddy!"
"My day?" He questioned, watching his friend nod quickly in response, "Well, ice cream would be nice…"
Sebastian ordered them both ice cream and watched as the waiter walked away before his eyes slowly directed themselves to Thad's glass. He narrowed his eyes at the napkin, noticing there was blue peeking out from underneath the glass. There was blue ink on the napkin. Sebastian watched Thad, who looked so adorably clueless as he drank. The waiter gave Thad his number.
Sebastian and Thad laughed loudly, quickly running through the parking lot as the rain poured down. He heard Thad squeal, watching the boy spin, his outfit soaked, his hair becoming frizzy. "I've never been out in the rain like this before, Sebastian!" He looked up to the sky, his eyes wide and smile bright.
"Sebastian, it's… It's so beautiful…" He looked around, smiling and looked at his hands, feeling the raindrops hit his skin and roll along his palms to his wrists. "My parents never allowed me out in this type of weather…" He looked at Sebastian slowly.
How the hell does Sebastian still look gorgeous when he's soaking wet?
"Sebastian?"
"Yeah, babe?" He smiled, raising an eyebrow, as Thad stepped closer.
The shorter boy looked up at him and smiled, "This day has been incredible… Thank you…"
Sebastian stared down at Thad, smiling before it faded slowly, watching a single raindrop rolling down the shorter boys jawline. He watched as the other boys smile faded slowly as well before he slowly leaned down, wrapping his arms around Thad's waist and quickly kissed him deeply, shutting his eyes as he felt arms wrap around his neck. Sebastian lifted him slightly, kissing him as he felt the raindrops drip against his cheek from Thad's hair.
When they finally parted, Thad let out a shaky breath, still being held above the ground by the French boy. Their eyelashes fluttered lightly before their eyes locked and Thad looked at the boy before quickly leaning in again, kissing him deeply.
Thad's heart was racing as he walked into his dorm, dripping wet and no doubt, making a mess. He ignored the gasp of his roommate as he closed the door slowly and slid down it, staring into space. He shakily brought his fingers up to his lips, tracing them lightly and whispered to himself, "Oh, no…"
