It's been so long but I'm finally back! I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a while but I'm here again. Hopefully for the next chapter, it wont take so long again. Anyhow, this chapter makes absolutely no sense to me but I had to give you guys something. Here it is:
Chapter 9- Parenthood
Everyone stayed still shocked silence and fear. Kagami looked the most bewildered and kept glancing from Kuroko to Akashi as if he were trying to gage their relation. Everyone knew that Kuroko looked nothing like Akashi at all.
Despite his age, it was easy to tell that the cotton haired boy would grow up to retain his soft, round features. The red-head however was much more angular in his facial features. Kuroko had an almost 'lighter' look to him, seeing how his hair and eyes were a cotton candy blue color.
Akashi was much 'darker' in looks and his eyes were genetic as his father had then too. If Kuroko were to actually be his child, there would at least be some sort of difference in eye color. Plus, that would've made Akashi fourteen when Kuroko was born.
A fourteen year old father? Nope. Probably wouldn't fly well with any family.
"Daddy?" Kagami finally uttered. Kuroko still had a hand clutching at the other red-head's hair and let go when Kagami shifted to pick him up and place him in his lap. The boy looked absolutely ecstatic, raising his arms to hug the teenager around his neck.
Atsushi made the brave decision to try and glance at his former captain and what he saw was certainly not what he had been expecting. Akashi's eyes were soft and there was no single trace of anger.
If the purple giant didn't know any better, who would have thought that the slight tilt up of the red-head's lips were the beginnings of a smile. But that was impossible of course.
"I refuse to claim we're a couple if we're gonna raise him together." He suddenly spoke. Kagami, who'd been holding Kuroko up and letting him walk along his thighs and legs, looked up at Akashi with wide eyes.
"Raise him together? Hold on a second. I don't even know the damn kid's name nor where the hell he came from. And I am too damn young to raise a kid. Especially with another guy who I don't know either." Kagami set the kid down to stand on the concrete on his own and stood up, brushing the dust and dirt off of his playing shorts.
"His name is Kuroko Tetsuya. I found him on my doorstep one morning with a note telling me his birthday and age. My name is Akashi Seijūrō, 16. Now we're properly greeted." Kuroko was glancing between both red-heads with a curious look while Akashi was completely serious. Kagami returned the look.
"Of course. I'm Kagami Taiga. Let's go raise a kid together." After a few seconds of silence, Kagami's stoic looks cracked and anger raged. "Like fucking hell! How am I supposed to know that you're telling the damn truth?" Akashi looked slightly taken aback by Kagami's sudden outburst. Kuroko began to finally notice that all was not well and sniffled.
"Daddy? Mama? No fight!" Kagami looked down at the cotton-haired boy with a look as if he'd forgotten that the kid was still standing right next to him. He hadn't meant to make the kid upset.
"Now look what you've done. You've made Tetsuya upset." Akashi stalked over to his 'son' and picked him up, bouncing the boy slightly on his leg to try and raise his spirits.
"Come on, Tetsuya. Don't cry." The red-head spoke softly. Akashi's former team was still not use to their old captain looking so affectionate and doting. Especially after their rough history.
"I-I'm sorry. Is he okay. I didn't mean to make him cry." Despite his looks, Kagami actually liked kids. One of the reasons he was so skeptical to being called 'Daddy', despite the obvious ones, was that kids usually didn't like him back. They found him scary and unapproachable. Kuroko was different. He seemed to like Kagami back and even allowed the red-head to play with him, even just for a few moments.
"Hmm. He'll be fine. Apart from that, I think we're gonna have a bit of a problem. Tetsuya now sees you as a father and you don't want to be. This is certainly a problem indeed…" Akashi trailed off. Kagami took a moment to realize that he was right.
"Why don't you tell him I'm not, then? Tell him it's someone else." Akashi narrowed his eyes into a glare.
"He is not stupid. He knows when I lie to him. And look. Even now, he wants you to hold him." It was true. Kuroko was wiggling around in Akashi's arms, trying to get free while holding his hands out in Kagami's direction.
"Daddy!" He called out. Kagami's heart gave a slight flutter. The kid was just too cute. Before he could stop himself, he reached out to take Kuroko into his own arms and lifted the kid up into the air.
"I'm here," He said with a smile. "And it seems I've gotten myself into an inconvenient situation." Kuroko only giggled in response. The rest of the team, who'd been in silent shock, finally got up.
"Well then. Welcome to parenthood, Kagamicchi." Kise spoke up.
I hope that was decent but anyhow, until next time!
