A/N: HTRYD is back! Or at least a cute little drabble sneak-peak from the next chapter is!

'Promise?'

A quick nod of the head answered her, and Toothless soon felt Valka going limp, her breathing evening out as she drifted to sleep. Shaking his head slowly, the older dragon's eyes darted back to the shards of glass still on the ground. He studied them with a certain disdain held in his eyes, before slowly lifting his wing to peak quickly at the little dragon under them. According to the unwelcomed visitor, the two were connected somehow, but how that was was something he still didn't know yet.

"Humans... Always speaking in riddles!" He growled in his own dragon tongue.

It frustrated him the more he thought about it, but only for a short while, as he soon grew concerned. Toothless' once bitter thoughts were now thoughts about how badly it might have frustrated his rider, who sometimes would get so worked up about a topic that he would become physically ill over it. As further evident in how the last few nights had been with the human thinking about Valka's situation none stop since they found her.

It made Toothless's head pound just from thinking about it.

There are things that happen among your kind- secrets that are so easily snuffed out, but they travel so fast among other kinds once they are discovered...

Why couldn't this one have just told them what was going on? Just a simple 'Guess what I know!' would have surfaced, but no! They just had to be stuck at square one still for the convenience of someone who was trying to mess with their heads. That was just about as dirty as a dragon's trick-

'Your kind- Wait, a dragons trick... What if she had meant the dragons. So s secret kept by dragons...' Toothless pondered the thought as he looked towards the door.

It was dawn, just as the early morning sun was rising over the land. He hadn't realized it, what with all the adrenaline coursing throughout his being. Though, now that he was sitting still his exhaustion was just beginning to become apparent. His emerald orbs stung as his lids tried desperately to close. Still, he wouldn't allow it.

"T-Toothless?" Hiccup's voice banished all thoughts of sleep from the dragon's mind.

The human looked pale and tired before him, standing unevenly with all of his weight on one leg, his real one. His face was scrunched up in an uncomfortable wince, undoubtedly sore from his stay on the cold, hard floorboards. Still, that didn't seem to stop him from slinking over to the dragon and climbing into the pile between Toothless and Valka. Before the elder dragon could even react, he felt his rider too go limp. Undoubtedly asleep once more.

"You have to admire his determination."
