Hello, firstly I'm sorry this is a very long chapter (6,115 words) the longest chapter I ever done, or for this story I believe, but please take your time to read it. The reason it is very long, because I wanted to fit many things in this chapter, which will make sense when you read. Things throughout the story, will hopefully become alight in this chapter, but if you want to point stuff out to me, then please do! I tried to make it real as possible and fit in the style of Tolkien, but with my own mix (if that makes any sense).
On that note, I think I should leave you to read this chapter, I hope you'll enjoy it, because I enjoyed writing if I'm being honest and some of it was written with only six hours of sleep! Oh, there is one more chapter left in this story, then we head off into the second part! Ok I let you guys go now, I promise! (Who reads this stuff anyways, what writers put)? :)
Slowly the king of the sky, lowered in the westward sky, leaving its mark behind him. The colours turned to dark shades, showing his sadness of not being able to see his beloved Queen, for another night. It seemed the sun fought many battles, but still didn't get him near his queen. He dreamed of her cold skin upon his once more. He wished to hold her in his arms again- to shine his light upon her to show how beautiful she was. He tasted her lips upon his every time he went to sleep. He longed to stand by her, be loyal like her soldiers, which stand guard by her every night- protecting her from enemies. Deep down, he envied her. She shone so bright in the night sky, stars looking like studs compared to the diamond. Despite all his feelings, the sun lowered behind the horizon, getting himself ready for his bed, another day over and leaving a path for his queen to follow; one day they be together. He could feel it in his bones.
On the ground below, Rivendell was peaceful. It always was. It seemed you could faintly hear flutes in the breeze, soft smiles welcomed you to heaven in Middle Earth, blocking all the worries which you may have, knocking all you troubles away as you enter the kingdom. Everything was light. Elves themselves roamed around lightly, yet you wouldn't want to face them in battle. Everything in Rivendell was clean. It did seem Rivendell was like heaven, along with the Shire. Yet Rivendell didn't have the Shire's hills, its beauty in its surroundings. Folks were small, but they were all fair, none was left out and all had their lands. Peace had guarded them for centuries, fighting evil which dared to attack on their doors, leaving no trace to worry them! Lush the grass was, flowers in their bloom-giving the area life. Birds nested nearby, ruling the air but sharing the Shire's home. It seemed no evil could attack both homes. Magic overruled those who entered the homes- lifting evil out of its hiding place. Yet folks feared how long those two will last in what was coming, though they didn't dare to ask out loud.
Songs and tales told of war, misery and darkness, but they also told times, which folks could not remember but imagined, those times were of peace, joy and living together. Oh how far they'll came, yet trouble was brewing to demolish all they had. It was something hard to turn a blind eye to and forget. War didn't show one side of victory, instead both sides of lost, heartache and sadness; the only victor was death.
As the moon made an appearance, Bo was still in the courtyard practicing with her sword, yet she had no physical target, she pictured Orcs around her. Leaving the Pavilion later that morning, Bo was left with the same questions, maybe even more. Nothing was simple. Why?
In anger she spun around and thrust her sword forward, injuring the imaginative Orc. Truthfully, Bo felt more confused and alone, the reasons were plain to see- her friends were gone, unsure what laid ahead, but guessed what they left behind. A monster, or an ally? She had always doubted herself. Bottom of the heap. No place to call home. Yet could her answers be found in Rivendell, or somewhere else? She had always fought for not being put into the dark, yet at times she pushed herself back in. There was too many questions, but there was no answers.
Attacking another imitative Orc, Bo felt her anger build. War was coming that was defiant. Allies grew together, or departed as their beliefs showed differences. War showed the true side of every creature. Yet both sides were ruled by fear and anger. War was horrible. It was written in every creature's history and future. But it didn't prevent them from happening.
All of it. Nothing stopped Bo from thinking of her kind. Orcs planned and murdered a whole species! They wouldn't stop there. There were stronger kinds. Bigger. Handy with weapons. More evolved than her kind. She saw that through her travels, though she hated to admit it. Her folks didn't stand a chance. If they only knew…
Turning again, Bo swung her sword in anger, but was stopped as her sword hit something solid. Confused, Bo looked away from her sword and to the right to see a staff blocking her hit, making her look up to its owner.
"Getting more practice, lost some time did we, too busy being curious and listening in to a private meeting?" Gandalf asked sternly.
Letting out a sigh, Bo lowered her sword and eyes in shame. "I'm sorry Gandalf, I didn't mean too…I just heard Lord Elrond say I wasn't the only one having doubts. I just wanted to know what is going on. Now I know too much."
Softening his eyes and lowering his staff so it was touching the ground, Gandalf stated: "I didn't want to tell you all about what is happening because I thought there was no need to. You see even the strongest have doubts and weaknesses."
Silence followed his words, letting him look away from Bo and to his surroundings. The sun was gone completely and the moon rose to her stand, lighting up the earth below by her beauty. Rivendell was free from darkness once again. Turning his gaze upon Bo again, he let out a smile.
"You made Saruman, run for his money. You ignore what he said, about the dwarves and also yourself. He doesn't know how important you both are. The whole lot, changing the course of the future…" He added, before growing silent as he saw doubt in his young apprentice eyes. He turned to face city before following what he said: "My dear, Bo, let me tell you something. It doesn't matter what you are, or where you come from. It is what you do is important. Folks remember what others have done." Moving forward, Gandalf glanced sideward to look at Bo, he saw doubt and worry in her eyes. She had followed him for many years, gave up her freedom to company him on his journey and his errands. He only asked for something so simple and she had stuck by her words, though it did mean harsh times. She now followed him to another unseen journey, with the ends not looking good, however it looked the same with their futures. Again she walked by him to the stairs of the building where they were staying and sat next to him without a word. "Strength isn't everything. Having a heart is important. You remember back at the Shire, you asked me if I feared anything. War. I've seen too many wars in my lifetime, Bo. It is something I still fear. Countless men, lost on the battlefield, their souls gone along with their last goodbyes. Blood implanting what was so beautiful, all the blood could make a river, mixed with the tears, which the love ones at home spill! Folks believe every war is the same, but it doesn't make the suffering any less. I could share all my information, but no one would listen until it is too late. We all fear something. At times we fear ourselves, but we must override it and become stronger. We must believe, so others will follow. I'm afraid nothing is for certain."
Again silenced followed, the wizard's words, Bo nodded in agreement, but inside she was struck by surprised by Gandalf's words. It was very rare that he spoke out like how he did. Truly rare to speak about his feelings and what he feared. He was a wizard, he had magic, information, skills and power, many tales held his name, a lot looked up to him, or knew enough not to mess with him. But there he was sitting on the stone stairs, silent, maybe he was thinking, or wishing, whatever he was doing, Bo was anxious. He had always played his part. He won many battles and been in many wars, but they all left him with fear! Deep down he was ordinary, well ordinary as you get with a wizard, but he was not like Radagast, or anything like Saruman, Gandalf was himself. He was more experienced than the other two, Bo guessed, though the others had their strengths in other parts. Then her mind went back to the story, which Gandalf shared earlier that day about the two blue wizards, their strong power and magic led a village of innocent lives, to be slain by magic and their greed-an evil within.
"I've been thinking about the dwarves." Gandalf suddenly stated, bringing his eyes upon Bo again. "They need our help, though they don't see it yet. What would you say for a little adventure, Bo?"
"I would like that very much, but what about Rivendell and war…"
"All of it can wait. They need us more. War will still be waiting for us, as Rivendell will still be here." Gandalf explained, cutting Bo off.
So there it was, the dwarves weren't going back to Rivendell, but moving forward into their journey, their hearts full of hope, as well as questions. The Elves were friendly, as well as surprising creatures, accepting their new guests, as well as news of war on the horizon, however the latter was harder to accept. Orcs had not been seen, or heard of since their short visit, but Bo knew they weren't creatures that would give up so easily. Now Bo had to say goodbye to Rivendell, a place where she actually felt safe and found peace, though it was of the small amount. If she weren't herself, she would like to think she would fall upon Rivendell and stay, however she was herself, through the years she slowly accepted what and who she was, but it didn't mean she had questions. Leaving Rivendell, Bo closed another chapter of her book and turned a page to start another, will this one have more outbursts, or breakthroughs? Only time will tell.
….
You can't take me
Yeah
Got to fight another fight
I gotta run another night
Get it out
check it out
Bo stood still, letting her eyes adjust to her surroundings. She stood in the middle of a rocky path, it seemed it was in the middle of nowhere. Fields surrounded her, lush, green grass stood still in the strong moonlight, as if they were patiently waiting to grow tall and strong, those on the edge, seemed to be bent, bowing to those who pass. Hills were full of life that night, crickets jumping to place to place, rubbing their legs together to make their noise. All was alight by the moon, who stood so high in the cloudless sky, her soldiers staying as loyal as ever, yet their jealously was still true.
"Bo…" She heard Gandalf call her. "We got to keep on going. We hopefully catch them up by morning."
Bo turned her head back onto the road and saw the wizard walking far ahead. Before moving again, she glanced at her surroundings and took a deep breath of fresh air. It had been a few hours since the pair have left Rivendell, only two elf's knew of their parting, Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel, yet they seemed not been surprised, or hide their emotions well, Bo guessed they were good on hiding their emotions, but they seemed to know everything. On their last meeting, they said their goodbyes and Bo apologized for her actions earlier, but they both seemed calm about it and dismissed it easily. Could she befriend elves? Could they be her allies? She did like them, she found herself opening up to Lady Galadriel, and with Lord Elrond it seemed he sympathized with her. They both made her feel whole and not like a freak show! They were also surprised what the company did, but not even they could have done anything.
Was this the right thing to do? The company didn't want her help, so why was she going after them? They casted her out. They've always looked down on her and saw nothing special. It always happened, wherever she went and whoever she met- not a lot wanted to be her friend, nor help her. Now she was on a journey to be with creatures who didn't want her there, she knew how it was all going to play out to be, yet she wondered if Gandalf could see it. The majority wanted her out of the company, those who wanted her to stay, were as a few and true to their hearts. A new thing can be a scary thing, yet you have to overcome it and stand up, if not then those around you will not see you.
"Bo!" Gandalf called, making her look up and to see him standing on a hill, leading up to what looked like a cave. "I believe they are in here."
Bo looked with disbelief, but didn't ask her questions out loud. She just accepted his madness. Finally she caught up with him and stared at the cave. It looked like nothing out of the ordinary, so why were the dwarves in there, and how did they managed to be there, if she remembered rightly, where they were placed them out of their way to their home. All the sudden Bo felt something within, which she didn't like. She took a moment to sniff the air, at first gingerly, but smelling something unusual, she sniffed at the air more heartily. Crouching down, she picked up a handful of mud and brought it up to her nose and sniffed at it. No, she didn't like what she was smelling. It all told her something was wrong.
"What is it, Bo?" Gandalf asked.
Empting she hands and slowly standing up, Bo stared in front of her at the cave. "I don't like this Gandalf. I wish I could tell you they are safe, but this cave…it belongs to Goblins! They are in the league with Orcs, are they not? Ugly things, smelly and greedy. I fear the worse for the company." She finally looked at Gandalf and saw him staring at the cave in silence.
Bo opened her mouth to speak, but Gandalf turned his head to look around at their surroundings, she could see he was confused and maybe within feared on what might be happening within the rocky walls, which the Goblins call home. When Goblins were involved it didn't look good, but Bo knew…well sensed Goblins and Orcs were together on bringing down on creatures of the earth and those who look down upon them, which added to mayhem!
I'm on my way and I don't feel right
I gotta get me back
I can't be beat and that's a fact
It's OK
I'll find a way
You ain't gonna take me down no way
Following Gandalf's gaze, Bo's stomach dropped. They were standing near the mouth of the cave, but looking up, it was enormous width ways and gigantic length ways (too high to climb and steep). Suddenly Bo became aware of her surroundings. Nothing felt safe. She could feel her chest tighten, making her struggle for air. The world was spinning, while she stood. She could feel the cold light of the moon upon her skin. She felt her heart racing within, her blood rushing through her veins making her feel sick! She wanted it all to stop! Looking down was a bad idea, she realized how high they were! She blinked to try and get her eye sight to focus, but it didn't work. Hearing movement, she moved her gaze towards Gandalf and watched him move towards the entrance, it seemed he didn't notice Bo was stuck!
Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it
Don't push me
I'll fight it
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
She moved her gaze away from the wizard and looked down, the path they followed was narrow and steep, even further up seemed it was growing small! The drop was by a huge margin! Even looking down, Bo was drawn to look down over the edge. She felt her powers growing short, her human form weak compared to the strong moon light, which started to drown her. She knew what was coming next. She had suffered it all her life. Time grew short for her human form. Any second was the beginning of the wolf which laid in wait within, it was tired of waiting. It was time to hunt!
"My dear, Bo, what is the matter?" She heard Gandalf ask, making her look up at him.
She stared at him with shock, embarrassment, pain and worry. She didn't know what to say. She found her mouth open, but no words came out, just croaks. "I….a funny thing actually Gandalf, well not a joke kind of funny." Bo found herself saying at last. "I…I…erm…I don't do heights." It seemed a bit of weight was brushed off Bo's shoulders as her words hung in the air, but she noticed the wizard was staring at her with…was it disbelief or concern? She couldn't tell anymore. A wave of pain overcame her, making her clutch her stomach and let out a whimper.
"Bo?" She heard Gandalf call in panic. But she couldn't hold on. She collapsed onto her knees, the world still spinning, her breath becoming shorter. She could feel the wolf becoming stronger inside, pushing all her human emotions and thoughts out, to be overtaken by the wild animal.
"Bo, hold on!" Gandalf ran towards her, before rising her right arm to go around his neck, which lead him to wrap his left arm around her waist, so she could lean into him. He could feel how cold she was and hear her gasping for air, as if she was drowning! He hurriedly walked her over to a boulder nearby, which he sat her against, he pulled out a blanket and wrapped her around, to try and keep her warm, though knew it was too late, but he had to try! It was all of a sudden, normally there was signs to tell him the wolf was going to try to break free, which let him help Bo fight the animal.
"Bo, have you had any dreams of becoming a wolf?" Gandalf asked, but there was no reply, he looked at her face to see she was falling into unconsciousness. He held her shoulders and shook her, which made her stare at him. "Bo, please can you tell me, if you had those kind of dreams, or if your surroundings suddenly changed? I need to know."
With all her strength, Bo moved her gaze to stare at Gandalf, she could smell his fear, but was it fear of her or for her? She could hear his heart race in its cage. She could feel coldness upon her, though she was wrapped in warmth. She could taste blood in her mouth.
"It is hungry…Gandalf." Bo stated, before pain overcame her, making her hold on to Gandalf, half pushing herself off the ground, she felt his arm wrap around her waist and held her against his chest. She could hear him hum softly, while he held her, as if he was calming down a baby. Tears, Bo felt trickle down her face, as the pain this time stronger, pushed through her body. "I can't…hold on Gandalf. You need to go…before….!" A piercing scream was let loose, silencing the surroundings, all seemed to stop still, as Bo screamed in pain. "Please…you got to go!"
"I will not leave you, Bo." Gandalf said, his words laced with heartache. "I will help you…"
"You cannot help me…I've passed those stages." Bo stated cutting the wizard off, before another wave of pain rushed through her, making her dig her nails into Gandalf's chest. "Each time I prevent the animal coming out, the pain multiplies! I will never win this battle, you fool. Please for me…save yourself!"
If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride it
You can't come uninvited
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
You can't take me
I'm free
Slowly Gandalf let go of Bo and moved her back, so she was resting upon the boulder. His eyes once full of hope and life, now portrayed his real feelings, as he stared at Bo. He glanced at the mouth of the cave and back at Bo, her whimpering's echoing in his mind. Without a word, he made Bo lean into him and walked inside the cave, ignoring her refusals.
"It seems you've forgotten who I am, Bo the shape shifter." Gandalf stated, while holding her close. "But most importantly, it seems you've forgotten who you are. One day, we will overcome this war, however today seems like a losing battle." Walking down the cave, Gandalf's staff became alight with strong, sliver light, making the darkness hide away, if only wars were so easily won, he thought. "Within darkness, you have to find the light, or else you be forever lost and you'll never know what was surrounding you."
Suddenly Gandalf could not hear any whimpering's of pain, neither felt Bo's breath. Sharply, the wizard turned his gaze upon her and saw her head was dropped and he was dragging her instead of helping her walk. Hurriedly but carefully, Gandalf sat her at the side, where no one could find her. He stared at her once more, worry expressed upon his bearded face. "May you find the light, Bo the shape shifter, there you'll the true you." He whispered before slowly walking away, taking the light with him, letting her rest in darkness.
…
Why did it all go wrong?
I wanna know what's going on
And what's this holding me?
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
I gotta fight another fight
I gotta fight with all my might
I'm getting out, so check it out
you're in my way
Yeah, you better watch out
Bo opened her eyes, seeing darkness surround her. Quickly closing them and opening them again, her eyesight adjusted to the darkness which compelled her. Feeling pain in her head, she tried to move her hands, but it seemed she couldn't move, however as she tried to move she heard a whimper, echoing through the darkness making her stay still with fear. Yet it seemed closer than she thought. Closer being it came from her own mouth! Fear struck and spread through her, making her stand up ignoring the pain, which she still felt. No, no, no, no! This cannot happen! Something within her mind said, before she smelled the sweaty air. She looked around confused, but her hungry was stronger. Smelling the air again, she caught whiff of something strong…meat! However focusing, Bo could smell Goblins, but also Dwarves, which told her where she was.
Following the scent, Bo could smell something else…something stranger, nothing she ever tasted before. What was with the Dwarves? With her experience, Goblins were ugly, short tempered creatures, but their new born tasted good! Dwarves on the other hand, tasted better and there seemed to be many of them! However the other scent was distracting her, she couldn't put her finger…well paw onto it. How she looked at it, she could either have a Goblin or dwarf, or find what the other thing was.
"Take up arms!" Bo heard someone yell. "Fight. Fight!" All the sudden the silence was woken up by clashing of swords and yells of agony. Smelling the ground, Bo smelled blood! Licking her muzzle in greed, she speed off to the battle field.
Bo quickly found herself in the throne room of the Goblin King. Firstly she waited until all was gone to fight each other in greed, then when all seemed to be clear she sprang forward to lick the blood off the floor and followed the trail to a dead defenseless Goblin. However as she heard the battle still going on, she felt the floor beneath her shake! She felt a massive shadow fall upon making her look up, her eyes met the Goblin King's.
He didn't look like what a king should look like, nor did he smell like one, yet he was a giant and powerful- his looks was nothing of competition…it was repulsive! However he was looking down upon Bo, she sensed he was going to hurt her, so she barked viscously towards him and barred her sharp teeth.
"Ah, you must be the shape shifter, the Pale Orc was speaking of." The Goblin King stated, staring at her with taunt. "The last of her kind, how does that feel like? All alone in this world, no one to call family or friend, the dark seems so peaceful at times. Is yours full of terror and screams, shape shifter?"
Bo stopped barking, but she pressed on, while the Goblin King carried on taunting her. She didn't want to fight him, she couldn't, and she weren't that stupid or brave enough. She found a gap between his legs, which she could run through and follow the battle. However when she made her move, it seem the Goblin King knew what she planning, and hit her off her paws with his mace. She flew in the air for a few seconds, before hitting the wall nearby, a high pitch whine escaped from her mouth and echoed around the caves.
…
Feeling nothing under her paws, Bo jerked awake from darkness and quickly saw where she was. She was still in the Goblin's cave, but now high off the ground. Confused she looked up and saw the Goblin King staring straight ahead. She was being held high off the ground, in the Goblin King's hand! Suddenly the Goblin King climbed over the bridge, and walked even faster in darkness, Bo didn't like where all of it heading! However she heard shouts and swords smashing against each other again, her nose filled with different scents of meat!
Smashing through another bridge, the Goblin King stopped the wizard and the dwarves from escaping, he held Bo tightly in one hand. All eyes were upon him, he smiled as he sensed fear from the wizard and the dwarves, they were together and with the shape shifter.
"You thought you could escape me?" He asked, before swinging his mace, making Gandalf stumble backwards. "What are you going to do now, wizard?"
In a quick swift, Gandalf leapt forward and struck the Goblin King in the eye with his staff, making him let go of Bo, so he could hold his face in pain! As the King was weak, Gandalf stepped forward and sliced his stomach, making him fall to his knees and held his stomach, before the wizard again swung his sword and sliced his neck, causing the Goblin King to fall down dead.
Bo quickly got to her paws and barred her teeth, ready to fight and taste blood! However she felt the bridge collapse, making it slide down the carven. Her ears were filled with screams of terror, she tried to hold on, but the rope was hurting her teeth, as she stumbled off, she felt someone pull her in, closing her against his chest. Glancing up, she could see it was the wizard, which made her confused. However as they landed heavily on the bottom floor, the bridge collapsed, burying them all alive in timber and wood. Bo closed her eyes as she didn't want splinters in them, when she opened them, she found herself curled into a ball against the wizard. He slowly moved the wood and timber, which landed on them and he stood up, smiling down at Bo.
Jumping onto her feet, she quickly moved backwards in confusion. She smelled the air, and it tasted familiar. However before she could figure what it was, one of the dwarves spoke. "Well, that could have been worse." But his words were fallen short, as the now dead Goblin King's body crashed upon them, squashing them. "You got to be joking!" She heard another state.
Bo looked up hearing heavy feet upon the ground, her eyes grew big as she saw the whole specie of Goblins charging straight towards them. She growled, making the others stare. She wanted to kill them all, and drain their blood! However the wizard dragged her away, with his staff and she ran along with them, thinking she could have one of the dwarves instead. Yet she looked back and saw the Goblins far ahead, she skidded to a stop and growled, she darted forward, but was stopped by the wizard's staff, confused and angry she darted around it, but to be stopped again. She carried on, trying to move forward to attack, but the wizard was fast!
"Bo! Listen to me, we have to get out of here, if we want to be alive" The wizard explained, it seemed he was talking to her. "We are friends, not foe. There are many of them, than us, they will kill us all, if we do not go now!"
Bo glanced at the wizard and the Goblins, who were catching up now. She let out a sigh and rolled her eyes, knowing the wizard was right. She turned around and started to sprint, she saw daylight up ahead, and it seemed it was the way out! However her mind was full of questions, which contained: who was the wizard? How did he know her name? How did she make to the cave in the first place? Her eyes moved to the right and caught an older looking dwarf glancing his gaze upon her, while he ran ahead, she sensed he was…shocked, but was mostly concerned. But why? The others were concentrating to out run the Goblins, she sensed they were scared, but not of her.
She barked to see if they would run faster, but they didn't. Who were they and why weren't they scared of her? However her thoughts were interrupted as she felt something hit her back, she looked back and saw the Goblins were throwing stuff at them! As the cave exist was just paces away, Bo sprinted, darting around, so the Goblins couldn't hit. Yet her plan didn't work! Another whimper escaped from her mouth as something sharp embedded her skin. As she made it outside, the strong sunlight blinded her making her trip over something on the ground, as she fell she rolled down the hill, which they appeared to be on and landed heavily on a rock.
"Five, six, seven, eight…Bifur, Bofur. That's ten…Fili, Kili that's twelve, Bomfur, which makes thirteen" She heard the wizard count under his breath. She felt his eyes upon her for a split second and counted her. "Where's Bilbo? Where is our hobbit?"
Bo breathed in deeply, trying to contain all her powers and gain some more, before trying to stand up, but she just collapsed…
"Curse the halfling! Now he's lost?!" Dwalin shouted in anger.
"I thought he was with Dori" Gloin offered.
"Don't blame me!" Dori embarked.
"Well, where did you see him last?" Gandalf asked.
"I think I saw him slip away, when they first collared us." Nori replied.
"What exactly happened? Tell me!" Gandalf asked rather sternly, it was certainly not his day.
"I'll tell you what happened." Thorin said, speaking up for the first time since they exist the cave, making everyone stare at him. "Master Baggins, saw his chance and he took it! He's thought of nothing, but his soft bed and his warmth hearth, since he stepped out of his door! We will not be seeing our Hobbit again. He's long gone."
There was a long silence, the dwarves stared at each other with unease, however Balin turned his gaze away and looked down at his feet, he was shocked out of them all- he was closer to the Hobbit than any of the others. He couldn't believe Bilbo would just run away from them and go back! He saw good in the Hobbit, he believed in him, but he had broken his trust. Seeing movement out of the corner of his left eye, he turned his head and stared at Bo struggling to stand up, he looked around him and saw everyone still looking uneasy, so he quietly moved towards Bo.
"No, he isn't." Suddenly a voice spoke up, breaking the small silence. Everyone looked up and saw Bilbo standing nearby.
"Bilbo Baggins! I've never been so glad to see anyone in my life." Gandalf exclaimed while laughing.
As the hobbit moved forward, Balin moved closer to Bo. As he was paces away he noticed the rock was becoming a pool of blood!
"Bilbo, we'd given you up!" Kili shared.
"How on earth did you get past the Goblins?" Fili asked.
"How, indeed." Dwalin added.
"Well, what does it matter?" Gandalf asked after a few seconds of awkward silence, as Bilbo tried to figure out what to say. "He's back!"
Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it
Don't push me
I'll fight it
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride it
You can't come uninvited
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
You can't take me
"It matters! I want to know: why did you come back?" Thorin asked the Hobbit.
"Look, I know you doubt me, I know you always have. And you're right, I often think of Bag End. I miss my books. And my arm chair. And my garden. See, that's where I belong. That's home. And that's why I came back, because you don't have one. A home. It was taken from you. But I will help you take it back if I can." Bilbo explained, silence followed his words as he looked around the company, he frowned confused, he couldn't find Balin- his friend, or Bo, where were they?
However the silence was broken by a sharp, loud bark, making everyone turn to look at the left of the group and saw Balin pushing himself off the ground. In confusion, they moved to see what was going on, they all stopped as Gandalf pushed himself at the front and held up his hand, telling them to stand where they were. They followed his gaze and saw Bo in the form of a wolf laying on a rock, however their questions was answered as they saw blood on the rock around her.
Bo rested her head on the rock, she felt darkness pushing itself forward, suffocating her as it surround around, making it known to her that she was the target. Hearing footsteps, she moved her gaze and saw the wizard, he slowly kneeled down beside her and slowly raised his right hand, but did not move it, letting her know she could smell it. Wearily she raised her head and smelled the hand, she could smell sweat, mud and smoke, but no fear. Resting her head again on the rock, she watched the wizard move his hands forward and examined her wound.
"It looks like a deep wound, I'm afraid Bo. I will need to get the knife out as quickly as possible and then attend to stitch the wound." The wizard explained, she let out a whimper to know she understood. She could feel his cold hands against her fur, he was gentle and caring. Smelling the air again, confusion took hold of her, why couldn't she smell the wizard as she smell the dwarves, was the wizard food and why didn't fear her? However her thoughts were interrupted by snarls and barks of Wargs!
She tried to turn around to see what was happening, to see if she was imagining things, but pain took hold of her. Again confusion and fright overcame her, as she couldn't feel the ground underneath, yet she felt warmth. She looked up and saw the wizard's face masked of worry. He had picked her up and carried her, not leaving her to die! However the last thing she heard him say was climb, before darkness took hold of her!

The lyrics are from the song called You can't take by Bryan Adams from the Disney film Spirit, I thought it fits in perfectly with this chapter, sorry for the change of the song again.
