Chapter Eleven: Second Exam: Forest of Death

The very next morning everyone of the Genin teams that had passed the first exam were now standing outside a fenced off training ground which looked more like a war zone that had a sign that read danger stay out. Davis looked at his team who looked at him and nodded as Davis nodded back to them as they turned to see Anko stand in front of the assembled Genin.

"Welcome to the second stage of the Chūnin exams, the forest behind me is the forty fourth training ground, or as I like to call it the forest of death my home away from home." Anko said as she grinned as she heard a few Genin gulp.

"The forest of death, doesn't look so scary." Davis whispered to his team when he heard a whizzing sound as he turned his head to see a kunai fly towards him as he felt it cut his cheek. He then felt Anko put another kunai to his neck as she licked the blood off of Davis's cheek as Davis started to slightly sweat as he noticed Kiba and a few other Genin give him a look of jealousy as Anko pressed her body into his.

"You know, cocky guys like you always die first, spraying that red blood that I love so much." Anko said grinning as Davis smirked.

"Hey lady, I've already got a girlfriend, and I would be safe to say she's hotter then you." Davis said referring to Haku as Kiba and Naruto snickered as Sakura giggled while most of the other teams jaws dropped at Davis's some would say guts others would say idiocy but Anko just smirked at him.

"I find that hard to believe kid." Anko said as she quickly threw the kunai that she was holding behind her as everyone watched it clip the long black hair of one of the female ninjas from the grass village and a few strands of the hair fell to the ground.

"So sorry to sneak up on you like that, but I was just returning your kunai proctor." The woman said as her tongue slithered out around Anko's neck holding the bloody kunai.

"Oh thank you, but next time don't sneak up on me, I just might kill you." Anko said brandishing another kunai at the grass ninja who nodded as she tipped her straw hat to Anko and went back to her team as Anko removed herself from Davis who sighed in relief.

"Dude, Haku's gonna kill you." Kiba said with a smirk as Davis glared at him.

"She won't if you don't tell her." Davis hissed as Kiba chuckled and nodded his head as they heard Anko clear her throat as they turned to face her again.

"All right listen up, for the second part of the exam you will be tasked with surviving in the forest of death for one hundred and twenty hours, or for those who aren't good with numbers that's five days." Anko said as everybody paled.

"Five days in their?!" A random Genin yelled.

"What about food!?" Choji cried once again thinking with his stomach as Anko grinned evilly at him.

"There are plenty of plants and animals to eat in the forest so don't fret, but." Anko trailed off.

"Why is there always a but?" Davis asked aloud as everyone nodded their heads as Anko's grin got wider.

"But most of the plants are poisonous, and the animals are more likely to eat you then you are to eat them." Anko explained as most Genin gulped.

"As long as there isn't any giant spiders I should be fine." Davis thought to himself.

"Oh did I mention there are giant leeches in there that'll suck you dry?, and I think there's a den of giant spiders somewhere in the forest." Anko grinned as Davis paled and was half thinking of heading for the hills. Anko grinned as she saw almost all the Genin about to pee themselves as she reached behind her back and pulled out a white scroll with the kanji for Heaven on it.

"Your objective for the five days is to retrieve two scrolls the Heaven scroll, and the Earth scroll." Anko said taking out a black scroll with the kanji for earth on it she held them out in plain view for all to see as she then pocketed them.

"Once you have both scrolls you must make your way to the tower which is in the centre of the forest, and under no circumstances are you to open the scrolls before you enter the tower." Anko told them.

"What if we do?" A Genin from the Rain village asked her.

"Then you'll die." Anko said giving off an evil laugh as everyone gulped save a few. Anko stopped laughing as she then took out a stack of papers from behind her as everyone looked at her.

"Now would you all sign these please." Anko said as everyone looked at her and the papers.

"What are those?" Another nameless Genin asked her.

"Waivers." Anko simply answered the Genin.

"Waivers for what?" Sasuke asked her as Anko grinned again.

"Over the course of the five days there is bound to be deaths, so filling these out protects the village from repercussions but the other villages." Anko explained.

"Say what?" Naruto asked as Anko nodded her head.

"You can't partake in this stage if the exams without filling out a form." Anko told the gathered Genin as several Chūnin handed the forms out to everybody.

"Once you've filled out the form hand them over to one of those three and receive either a heaven or an earth scroll." Anko said pointing to three Chūnin who were sitting in a booth as Davis looked at the waiver he now held as he looked at his teammates who were all looking at their waivers as was all the other Genin.

"So what do you guys think?" Davis asked his team as he signed his form.

"I say we go for it." Naruto said with enthusiasm and a smile as he signed his form.

"Yeah what's the worst that could happen?" Kiba asked with a grin as Akamaru barked in agreement as Kiba signed his form as well.

"What about you Sakura?" Davis asked the pinked haired girl who was hesitantly looking at the waiver then at her teammates.

"Well I'm not sure, I mean we could all die during the five days." Sakura said nervously as she heard a snort of laughter from behind her.

"Aww are you scared forehead, maybe you should try next year." Ino mocked with a laugh as she signed her form and handed it to Shikamaru who handed all three of his teams forms to one if the Chūnin who nodded and gave him a scroll. Sakura frowned as she gained a tic mark and growled.

"I'll show her." Sakura growled as she signed her form as she gave it to Davis as Naruto and Kiba gave theirs to him as well as Davis nodded as he went and handed in the forms in and a Chūnin gave him a heaven scroll which he placed in his pocket as he went back to his team.

"Okay, has everyone handed in their forms?" Anko asked the Genin who all nodded their heads which made Anko grin even more.

"Alright everybody pick a gate, and wait for me to give you the okay to enter the forest." Anko ordered them as every team nodded as they each took one of the forty four gates that led into the forest of death.

"Okay, the second exam of the Chūnin exams shall now begin." Anko said as the gates opened and all the Genin flew through the gates as Anko grinned and chuckled as she sat down by the booth and pulled out a box of dango and a bottle of saké.

"It's only a matter of time, before blood will spill." Anko said to herself as she took a swig of the saké. Meanwhile Davis and his team were jumping through the trees.

"Hey guys stop." Naruto said as everyone jumped down to a clearing and looked at him.

"What is it Naruto?" Sakura asked him.

"Well what scroll have we got?" He asked as Davis took the scroll out from his pocket.

"A Heaven scroll." Davis said.

"So we need a earth scroll then?" Kiba asked as everyone nodded their heads.

"Yeah we do, now the first thing we need to do is figure out how to find a team that has an earth scroll." Davis said as he scratched his head.

"Why don't we just beat every team, until we find one?" Naruto suggested.

"We'd run out of time, plus I doubt we could beat them all." Davis told him as Naruto dropped his head slightly.

"I've got it, pass me the scroll." Kiba said as Davis nodded as he tossed the heaven scroll to Kiba who grinned as he bent down to Akamaru.

"Smell boy." Kiba said as Akamaru barked as he sniffed the scroll thoroughly.

"That should do it." Kiba said giving the scroll back to Davis who was slightly confused.

"Uh what should do it?" Davis asked Kiba who grinned.

"Simple, Akamaru by smelling the heaven scroll we have will be able to tell if a team has a earth scroll or not." Kiba explained as the others smiled and nodded.

"Good plan, nice work." Davis said as Kiba grinned as Davis took a step backwards and felt something under his foot as he looked down as did the others and everyone gasped.

"That's not what it looks like right?" Davis asked the others nervously.

"If you mean if it's webs, then yes." Kiba said as Davis gulped.

"Your scared of spiders?" Naruto asked.

"Uh yeah." Davis said giving off a nervous laugh. They then heard a noise as they all looked up and Sakura screamed.

"Spiders!" She shouted and pointed upwards as everyone looked up to see four rather giant spiders descending towards them on strands of web.

"I've never seen one that big, goddamn." Kiba said as he drew a kunai as did Sakura and Naruto but Davis was hesitant.

"Davis come on we'll die if you don't help." Naruto said as the spiders attacked.

"FANG OVER FANG!" Kiba shouted as he and Akamaru spun around in twin tornadoes as they aimed for a spider who noticed and screamed as the attack collided with it's underbelly sending it crashing into the undergrowth.

"SHADOW CLONE JUTSU." Naruto shouted as three clones appeared in clouds of smoke as they plus the original Naruto took out another spider one of the clones cut the strand of web as the spider fell to the ground as the other three Naruto's plunged their kunai into the spiders abdomen as it shrieked in pain as it hit the ground dead as they heard a scream.

"SAKURA!" Naruto shouted as everyone turned to see Sakura getting pulled up by one if the spiders webs. Davis saw this and shook his head and clenched his fists as he growled eyes going red with black slits and nails sharpening into claws.

"Unhand her!" Davis growled as he drew his Tantō and jumped into the air and cut the webbing holding Sakura as she fell to the ground but Naruto cushioned her landing as Davis cut one of the offending spiders legs off as it screamed only to be silence by the Tantō being imbedded deeply into its skull as Davis tugged at it but it stayed stuck. The last spider charged at Davis who took a deep breath as if you looked closely fire could be seen.

"FIRE STYLE: DRAGON FIRE JUTSU!" Davis shouted as he opened his mouth and a giant burst of flames erupted forth from his mouth as it engulfed the spider who shrieked in pain as it was turned to ash as Davis panted placing his hands on his knees as his fingers returned to normal as did his eyes as he landed on the ground and started to remove his Tantō from the spiders head as he wiped the blood of the blade as he turned to face his team.

"Sorry I froze up guys." Davis said.

"Hey it's cool man, I woulda froze up too had I been in your shoes." Kiba said as Akamaru barked in agreement.

"Thanks for saving me Davis." Sakura said hugging him lightly in thanks.

"I'd do it again for any of you guys, you're my friends after all." Davis said as Team 7 nodded their heads as Davis sheathed his Tantō.

"Okay guys lets get going." Davis said as the team set off and jumped through the trees as they searched for another team. However in mid jump all four heard a sound as they then felt an incredibly strong gust of wind hit them as Davis was blown into a tree which he managed to cling onto by using his Tantō to dig into the bark as he managed to catch Kiba and Akamaru but he couldn't catch Naruto or Sakura as they were blown away to another part of the forest.

"Naruto!" Davis shouted after the blonde.

"Sakura!" Kiba shouted after Sakura as the remaining two Genin jumped onto a branch.

"That wasn't an ordinary wind." Kiba stated as Davis nodded.

"Yeah, it was a jutsu, and a high end one at that, but who the hell knows such an advanced jutsu?" Davis asked as they heard somebody land onto a branch above them.

"Ku lulu, well take a look at what I found, two brats all alone." They looked up to see the grass ninja from earlier wearing the straw hat grinning as she looked at them.

"You!" Davis exclaimed pointing at the woman.

"It's rude to point, now then hand over your scroll and I won't hurt you." The ninja said.

"Bite me bitch." Kiba growled as did Akamaru.

"Oh I'm afraid I don't chew my food, I swallow them whole." The woman said as she waved her tongue around.

"Be on guard Kiba, I don't think this is a Genin at all." Davis said drawing his Tantō.

"Smart boy, now then die!" The woman shouted as she lunged at them.
