"Where are you taking me?" The distressed princess asked. Her hands were cuffed, her wrists feeling numb from the hard cold metal pressed onto it. She felt a hand push her forward, and she let out a yelp.

"On a little trip," someone, a male said, rather annoyed with her.

She frowned. "Trip?"

"Just keep moving. You'll find out."

She muttered, "I don't think I want to find out." Pouting, she furrowed her brows. "Hey shouldn't you cut your hair? Isn't it too long for a guy? You don't wanna end up with morning hair. I mean, yeesh, you should see my hair in the morning. It's like I slept on..."

As she continued talking, a groan escaped the man's lips. 'The little princess will shut up soon. Just wait a little longer,' he thought. As Anna kept on pestering him, he bit the inside of his cheek. 'But this brat is starting to test my patience.'

Berk, the Chief's Quarters

Hiccup sat down with his elbows on his lap, and his hands clasped underneath his chin. "So, back to business?"

Jack nodded. "Pitch Black, the one who controls nightmares and fears. We've ran into quite a lot of trouble with him in the past since he threatened the well-being of children around the world, and, as Guardians, it's our duty to keep the children happy."

Hiccup nodding, affirming that he was listening. Astrid sat beside him and placed her hand on his shoulder. The chief's betrothed had noticed his face; a little pout on his lips, and focused eyes. He was thinking of plans already.

Elsa was leaning on the wooden wall, eyes looking at the necklace on her delicate hands. Biting her lip, she raised the necklace closer to her face. "Maya," she whispered.

"Elsa?" Her thoughts were interrupted as she heard Jack's voice.

Quickly, she put her hands behind her to hide the necklace from their sight. "Yes?"

"You wanted to say anything?" He raised a brow, enveloping his arms above his chest.

She brought a fist near her mouth and cleared her throat, coughing quietly. "He had managed to take my sister, and I- we," she corrected herself, "Are looking for her and answers as to why he's doing what he's doing."

"He has powers to control that black sand, too, right?" Astrid asked.

Jack nodded. "It comes with controlling nightmares. He actually mimicked the Sandman's sand powers to create nightmare sand."

"And he managed to make his nightmare sand get stronger in the years he had disappeared?"

"Actually," he added. "It seems as if he was planning this."

Elsa put her hands on her hips. "How so?"

"Well, this is my theory. Maybe a few years ago, when we last fought, he had staged that to think we finished him. Maybe after we 'defeated' him, he actually put his real plan to action."

"Then, what does he have to gain?" Hiccup finally spoke.

"That, we have to find out."

By the Beach, Berk

The pale-skinned queen stared quietly at the sparkling blue ocean. The sight had managed to get her to calm down, albeit the heat. She bit her lip as she brought up the necklace on her hand. All of a sudden, she heard a laugh. She turned around but, yet again, nothing. She sighed as she looked at the necklace again.

"Hey."

She jumped. "Jack!" She groaned. "Do not sneak up on me."

He chuckled. "Yeah, no."

Rolling her eyes, she decided to let him be.

Jack had noticed that she was a little more jumpy than usual. She looked more closed off, as if she was trying to figure out a jigsaw puzzle. It wasn't a very noticeable change, but he noticed it. He didn't know why, but he did. His eyes wandered to her hands and saw a silver necklace. "What's that?"

She looked at him before showing the necklace. "I found this earlier."

"A necklace?" He rubbed the back of his neck. "And..?"

"One of those, uh, Wisps showed up earlier and lead me to it. Think that it's important?"

That's when he he cocked his head slightly, intrigued at the mention of a Wisp. "Possibly. Anything on it?"

She turned the locket and showed him the name. His hand attempting to touch it in order to read the name engraved, but Elsa's voice stopped him. "Do you know anyone by the name of Maya."

His blue eyes widened. His hand dropped to his side. "Maya?"

"Jack!"

Silence took over the two. Elsa saw the shocked look on his face. "Jack, do you know her?"

"She..."

For what seemed like minutes, she was replied to by silence. Slowly getting aggravated, she asked him again. Still, no answer.

"Jack!"

He shook his head. He was walking away, but Elsa wouldn't have it. She needed to know. She felt as if he was not telling her everything about the situation, everything about what was happening with Anna. She felt that he knew, but he wasn't telling her.

Grabbing his wrist, she spoke, "Don't leave me out of things, Frost. I have basically left my kingdom unarmed to look for my sister with a stranger. My sister might possibly be dying. The world is not as it used to be. I don't want to be left out of any information here. You wanted us to work together, and now, I want to, need to. For that, I need trust and you need it, as well."

"I... I have a little secret I'd like to keep." He didn't move. They were like that for a while, until he let go of her grasp and walked away. This time, she didn't stop him.

'Something is off,' Elsa thought.

Berk Dragon Academy, Berk

The gang had gotten together for a briefing, and Elsa was present. Jack was, too, but he still seemed upset. He leaned against the wall, away from the rest. Hiccup had told the rest what he knew about the situation and was planning defense for their village.

"If they come for my dragon, they're going to get it," Tuffnut declared.

His twin sister, Ruffnut, agreed. "We'll get 'em!"

"Hey, hey, hey! We're planning defense, not offense," the chief interrupted.

The two sighed. "Fine. You're no fun."

"What you think is 'fun' is what we think is crazy," Astrid said as she walked over to Hiccup and stood beside him. "Guys, this is serious. This may be much more disastrous than when Drago was here."

"Luckily for you all, I know what disastru-, disastra-, disastruous means," Tuffnut announced.

Elsa shook her head, trying to stifle a laugh. Unbeknownst her, Jack stole a glance.

"Okay, um, Jack and Your Majesty, w-"

Hiccup was interrupted. "Please, just call me Elsa. I'm not exactly a queen around here."

"Oh no, no, no," Fishlegs said. "I read in a book that you always have to call royalty formally, no matter where."

"Oh, but I insist."

"She insists, so it's settled," Jack walked over.

Elsa's blue orbs stared at him as he did. His gaze turned to her, and she quickly looked somewhere else.

"So, what do we do, chief?" Jack leaned on his staff as he was speaking.

"How about checking out the cove somewhere in the forest. We have some important things hidden there, and right now, we're short on men. Would you two mind if-"

"No problemo," Jack replied. "Elsa and I are on it."

"Her majesty," Fishlegs corrected.

"I call her Elsa," Jack was walking towards to the exit, but noticed Elsa wasn't moving. He stopped and turned to her. "Els, let's go."

She looks at him for a moment, and their eyes met. She started walking out the Academy with him. Not a single word was spoken between them. The gang took notice.

"What was with them?" Eret asked.

"I don't know," Hiccup replied.

"I know! Ooh~ Love on the battlefield," Tuffnut added.

Everyone shook their heads and said nothing.

Astrid looked at her betrothed. "Hiccup," she whispered.

"Hm?" He looked at her.

"I know what you're doing."

"Well, the vibe around them was awkward. I had to do something."

Kissing his cheek, she smiled. "Yeah."

The Cove, Berk

The flight to the Cove was awkward to say the least. Jack carried Elsa, and Elsa didn't say a word. Neither of them spoke. As Elsa was being put down by Jack, she took a look around the area. Jack did the same, looking for something they didn't know. It would have been better for the both of them to ask what exactly they needed back, but they were being to preoccupied with their thoughts.

Elsa was walking towards the pond and sat by it. She was contemplating on whether or not what she had said to Jack was a little too over the line or not. A part of her was telling herself to apologize and the other part was waiting for an answer.

Her thoughts were cut short as she saw something in the water bubble, and she was sure it wasn't a fish. Standing up and walking backwards ever so slowly, nightmare horses had shot up from the water.

Jack turned around, his brows furrowed. "I swear this bullshit is getting tiring." He flew up and aimed at the horses.

Elsa did the same. Her eyes focused on the creatures of the dark, shooting ice to whatever was running towards her. She shot at the horse Jack was also aiming for. Then, an explosion occurred. Elsa stopped and stared at the pieces of ice on the floor. "What happened?"

Jack flew down and grabbed her, flying up as he did. "Elsa."

"Yeah?"

"Grab my staff." He said, his other hand holding it out for her.

"Wait, what? Don't you need that for your powers?"

"I'm not letting go of it. I just need you to hold it, too."

She raised a brow. "What is that gonna do?"

"The explosion. Our powers together caused it," he replied, not looking at her. "Focus as much power as you can onto my staff."

"Jack, I've never tried focusing that much power at one thi-"

"Well, try now." He said, diving down.

"Jack! This isn't going to work!" She yelled, her hand holding the staff.

"Elsa, do you trust me?"

"What?" She looked at him. This time he looked back.

"Elsa, just trust me."

She bit her lip as she focused her power on his staff. After that, all she saw was black.

An hour later

She woke up to the sun's rays hitting her face. She squinted as she got up. It was way too hot.

"You're awake."

Sighing, she looked at him. "Jack," she started. "What happened?"

"You passed out after we blew up those nightmare horses." He shrugged. "It really was your first time focusing that much power at one thing."

"I told you." She frowned. "And the cove?"

"Look around you."

She did. The entire Cove was covered in ice. It was beautiful. The pond was sparkling like crystals against the rays of the sun. The walls were coated with ice, as well. Patterns of snowflakes elegantly stamped it. The trees were frozen solid, and icicles hung from their branches. She was speechless. It all looked so grand.

"Like what you see?" He asked.

She nodded. "I have never seen anything like it."

"So, do you trust me, now?"

She looked at him quizzically. "What's with that question?"

He shrugged. "You said you wanted trust."

"Well, yes, but..." She couldn't find the right words.

"Look," he sighed. "I want trust, too. I trust you. Question is, do you trust me?"

She folded her arms. "Oh, no, don't go trying to twist my words on me, Frost. I know better than that."

He smirked. "And she's back! Hey, what happened to calling me Jack?"

The Snow Queen gave him an incredulous look. "Jack, I'm being serious."

"I know. It's just..."

"Look, if you don't wanna tell me who Maya is now, it's fine. I don't want to rush you if it's a delicate topic for you, and I was being too rash," she paused. "But I'm gonna have to know sooner or later. I keep hearing someone's laughter whenever I focus on that necklace."

Jack stared at her. "What laughter?"

She took a deep breath. "Whenever I focus on the necklace, I can hear someone's laughter."

He held out a hand for her. She looked at it with a questioning look. She took his hand and stood up.

"Something's up. What is it?" She asked.

"I'll tell you on the way back to the village."

"Wait..." She looked at him.

He looked back at her. "What?"

"I trust you."

It took him a few moments to finally smile and wrapped an arm around her waist. "I trust you, too," he replied. "I'll fill you in on the way."

She nodded, and they were off.

A/N: Who's Maya? Whoever can guess who Maya is will not get a prize, but it won't hurt to guess, right? Ehehe, anyway, hope you like it!

Preview of Chapter Eleven: Breathe

"Jack..."

"What happened to her?"

"The moon!"

"Arendelle's under attack!"

"Why, hello there."

"Her or you?"

"Don't make choices you're going to regret."

"Where is she?!"

"She..."

"She's gone."
